a) Should've been in Sydney
b) Umpire decided to take the glory ::) Unlucky Swans! But Membrey and Mitchell are guns :D
True
Matthew Dick not in the NEAFL GF team. Could be on the outer and delisted

NEAFL Grand Final Statistics -
You can also see by the quarter scores the effect of the strong wind on the final.
@Stew do not why not in Sydney so agree there as Swans finished ahead of the Hornets on the ladder, Only justification I can see and this is very thin Hornets defeated the No 1 Team Giants in the prelim so were given final.
Rewatching the final ump was right with the throw call. Mitchell had the chance to win a minute before with his shot just going wide and credit to the Hornets who brought the ball all the way down quickly and then got the free.
You can also add Biggs to Membrey and Mitchell
For anyone that wants to research stats on NEFL use this link cluck on the game and stats are brought up.

Who?
Nick Hayes who was on our rookie list.
Nobody at the Lions would want to win that award from now on. Still a strange decision Ringo. Cant see why he wasnt elevated
Had the opportunity too but for some reason we did not promote rookies when we had the opportunity, We had some 5 long term injuries and the only rookie who got promoted was Jordan Bourke.

QuoteNT THUNDER
Major Ins:
Richard Tambling
I think that the NT have got this season covered. Also Aspley have picked up Isaac Conway, not sure why he was delisted in the first place. :-\
NT Thunder were a top 4 team as well and didnt lose at home.
Tough team to beat this year
Agree Thunder will be tough at home but they tend to fall apart at times on the road.
Swans played them over there and lost last year. They never lose at home

O'brien may hace rortced his way ahead of Robertson to replace Rocky if Leppa wants another mid. Close or Cutler are options if he wants another tall.
McSpud named in the best, I flowerin hope he doesn't get selected for the senior team...

Swans NEAFL game moved due to rain predicted and they dont want the field used before the seniors
Former Port forward Nick Salter kicked 14.5 for Ainslie on Saturday :o against the neafl team I kind of support in Eastlake too haha (because they share the Dons' jersey)
22 kicks 6 handballs 12 marks 2 tackles on top of the 14 goals for 214 DT - only player in the game who had over 95 :3

I remember Salter being a fairly decent state league player in the SANFL as well. Just couldn't make that step up to the AFL.

QuoteGold Coast Suns v Brisbane Lions at Metricon Stadium
GOLD COAST 1.3 3.6 6.6 10.14 (74)
BRISBANE 2.4 3.7 6.11 6.13 (49)
GOALS â€" Gold Coast: P Wright 2 A Raines 2 G Woosup C Filewood M Hallahan A Hall D Stanley J Joyce. Brisbane: R Lester 2 E Hipwood 2 M Hammelmann L Dawson.
BEST â€" Gold Coast: A Hall M Hallahan T Downie A Raines Z Smith. Brisbane: B Keays J Aish R Lester R Harwood.
A DOMINANT performance from Aaron Hall spearheaded Gold Coast to its’ first NEAFL win since August 2013 after the Suns came from behind to beat Brisbane by 25 points at Metricon Stadium.
Hall collected 31 disposals, three clearances, seven inside 50s and a goal as the Suns turned around a five-point deficit at the last change to win 10.14 (74) to 6.13 (49).
It was the club’s first victory since Round 21, 2013 and put an end to 22 consecutive losses in the competition.
The Lions had the jump early by seven points at quarter-time but the Suns closed the gap to one-point by half-time and some inaccurate kicking by the Lions kept their opponents in the game in the third.
But it was one-way traffic in the last as the Suns booted four goals to none for the inspiring win.
Hall was well supported by Mitch Hallahan and Tyrone Downie with Peter Wright and Andrew Raines chipping in with two goals each.
Ben Keays (23 disposals) stood out for the Lions alongside James Aish (19 disposals and five clearances) and Ryan Lester (21 disposals and five clearances).
The Lions will have the bye this weekend while Gold Coast will host a red-hot Southport.
Yea Cap i read the match reports and nothing in there but interestingly NEAFL match reports do not include injuries or reports.

Eski named in the best after playing just over a half, not too shabby.
GWS just pumped Brisbane 216-24.
For perspective though, apparently Brisbane only had 6 NEAFL players and everyone else was top ups from QAFL/ U18s, but still a ridiculous scoreline.
Disappointing Zip I agree and was expecting it due to the Top up bear in mind they do not train with Lions as well.
i thought that something like this was going to happen.
Had discussed this with Ringo through the week and i wouldn't be surprised if their coach played as well
The whole NEAFL rules regarding top up players needs to be looked at. Do not know the solution but with Players being developed for Senior sides with teams in the NEAFL constant beatings are counter productive in this instance. Injuries really hurting both us and the Suns atm.
Brisbane were further hampered with players they could call on by the Representative match NEAFL v Tasmania State League which was played yesterday. Why play fixtures on a rep match weekend. North Qld also played Sth Qld on the week end.

So the 4 AFL affiliated teams played each other on the weekend so surely they could have put together a team to play TSL that didnt include any of these teams and still be competitive

Is Sydney Uni just Claremont old boys? Lewey Stevenson played in the 2011 premiership side, Sam Fong played a good 3-4 seasons (nephew of former West Perth captain and 250-gamer Les Fong, who also taught my mum in primary school :o), and I'm sure that J. Derickx must be related to Tommy Derickx.
Stevenson ex port and eagles player??

Richard Tambling just got robbed of the NEAFL's MVP. :(
