trade in green approved, trades in black under review
First trade:
Stallions Give: M.Grigg + N42
Crushers Give: C.Rioli
LF to confirm.
Spain were in need of forwards and despite giving Mitch Grigg who has shown great talent when playing without the green vest, we have plenty of midfielders so didn't need him. Rioli brings another good starting forward to our side whilst Grigg helps the Crushers with their rebuild.
Swiss Storm give: Nathan Jones
English Lions give: Brodie Smith
Pretty simple here. Worked out a straight swap that we're both happy with. Jones is a gun mid who scores well and consistently and Brodie Smith just broke out and started pumping out some very fantasy friendly scores. This trade helps improve our backline and gives us a good starter which helps given a couple of our defenders have had injury troubles.

Lots of defenders at England so we will grab a premo mid for one.
Confirmed!
Stallions Give: J.Newnes + N28
Lions Give: S.Lycett + R7
JB to confirm.
We wanted a ruckmen to back up Naitanui and Lycett is the actual back-up for Naitanui so it's great to get him. We had to give Newnes who has shown plenty of promise in his second year, especially in the back half of 2014 where he has averaged above 85. There is also talk of him getting D/M as he has been playing off half-back. The exchange of picks balances the deal out.
Stallions Give: R28
Eagles Give: S.Fisher
Rich to confirm.
Pretty simple trade. Older player but we needed a defender so we gave up our second rookie pick in what is a pretty deep draft.
Storm give: Alex Fasolo, Brodie Grundy and Brendan Whitecross
Bashers give: Nathan Gordon, Chris Knights and Pick 56.
Need some forwards because it's our weakest line. Gordon should get DPP or become a forward and Knights is best 22 when fit. Not the biggest Fas fan, we've got three other playing rucks even with Grundy gone and with the acquisition of Brodie Smith, we don't need the injury prone WhiteX.
Ele/Ric/FARK to confirm.

We don't have much after our 4 main mids and Grigg has shown that he has the potential to be a good fantasy scorer when he escapes the vest

Grundy is a long long way off becoming fantasy relevant but hopefully once Pyke/Hmac retire he will be pumping the big scores. Fasolo adds some forward depth, very similar to Knights in that when he's fit he is best 22 and a reasonable scorer. We were willing to take the chance on WhiteX while the pick is far more valuable to Nigey as he rebuilds his lineup.

Well then we did post that defenders were for sale ;)
Hungary Trade: Rookie 15
Croatia Trade: Beau Waters
reason: taking a risk here on Beau as fit he is a premo defender but thats rarely the case and he is one injury away from retiring i think, but with R15 i think its worth a punt as he has pretty big upside, even if its unlikely. Need help down back.

As much as i love Beau he is too injury prone and we have a starting 4 defenders without him anyway and can use rook pick 15 to help rebuild the team from the extensive list in the rook draft

Felt Rioli was worth more than a fringe player with potential and a lowish pick.

WhiteX worth more than that pick that late as despite his injuries concerns has shown lots of potential. Fasolo somewhat fringe but young and Knights has had injury issues and isnt a lock 22 either. But the big one was Grundy has too much value as a young number 1 ruck.
Witts is the number 1 ruck atm. Too much uncertainty around whiteX after 2 knee recons. Nip seems a decent forward. Knights scores well but same issue as above with whiteX. Fas also not a certain starter. None are certain starters in my opinion...

Injury concerns? Thats understating it. ACL and now hasn't played competitive football for nearing on two years. If he does get fit again he'll be spending much of next season at Box Hill, who would he replace in the Hawks side? We threw a late pick in for him because we felt like he's useless to Nige and his rebuilding side but he might still be in his prime when/if he finally gets back.
Ask any Richmond supporter, Knights is best 22.
Witts is Collingwood's #1 ruck, Grundy has been in and out of the side all season and when he is in he was copping vests. Sure he will improve but Witts isn't exactly going anywhere.
We need to start looking at numbers because everyone has their own opinion on players. I'm all for a hard-line approach but how we rate someone might be completely different to how someone else does.
Hmmm can we appeal? Think Griggs unvested scoring potential was missed.
Do I PM you for that Holz?

I agree with this ruling actually.
This would have been a massive, massive win for the Bashers if it went through.
Grundy as a potential #1 ruck for the Pies (he'll surpass Witts soon) is worth more than Knights and Gordon themselves imo.

Hungary Trade: Jack Viney + Nathan Freeman + Jarred Polec + Nat 17
Serbia Trade: Bryce Gibbs + Ryan Lester.
Reason: despite losing alot of young talent I have plenty to give. Viney and Polec both youngs mids but Gibbs is that step up, hoping Gibbs can back up this year after a few sub standard years (which i know all about). Freeman was a top 10 pick last year but again something i can lose, the nat pick is pretty decent too but I have too much potential and need some solid players. Lester I like, im not sure he is best 22 but he is on that edge so I hope he probves himself against the other lion players. Need backs so taking a punt.
Haha, knew it was a matter of time before you would secure Lester again Holz :p

Reason: despite losing alot of young talent I have plenty to give. Viney and Polec both youngs mids but Gibbs is that step up, hoping Gibbs can back up this year after a few sub standard years (which i know all about). Freeman was a top 10 pick last year but again something i can lose, the nat pick is pretty decent too but I have too much potential and need some solid players. Lester I like, im not sure he is best 22 but he is on that edge so I hope he probves himself against the other lion players. Need backs so taking a punt.

Sucks to lose a Lions player though haha :P

Yeah I don`t think that is how it`s working this year Nails
Yeah, people are complaining more this season :P.
Don't forget only a max of 6 player movements per trade period, which I think many have used up a bit of :P.

Haha, knew it was a matter of time before you would secure Lester again Holz :p
I took Gibbs pick 5 of the original draft way back in 2011. He isnt quite the 107 defender I paid for him but still wanted him. Lester just picked up the rookie of the year at Serbia got to get my boy back.

Obviously risking a potential future Gary Ablett for hopefully what will be 2 stars. But they could both turn out to be Daniel Rich 2.0 and never turn into true guns. Hopefully they live up to their potential, but it's a huge risk.
ATTENTION: :P
note after some discussion the rule of no more than 6 players moved per trade period has been removed. The rule of only 10 movements in the first 2 trade period is still in force and will be set in stone.
the though process was people have just been locking in trades for the second period anyway and if you use your 10 movements too fast and unexpected stuff in the draft happens than that's the coaches choice.
Hungary trade: Joe Daniher + Tom Boyd
England trade: Matt Wright + Michael Hurley.
reason: Again my guys both have potential and even though KPP they could turn into solid scoring players down the road. However Hurley and Wright are more proven. Some worry about wright tagging and hurley getting moved all over the place. But both should play and average more than 70 so that makes my squad.

Yeah we confirm too, big risk, big reward here for us. Hooker could go on and become a premium defender like he proved he could in the first half of the season. Alternatively he could spit out spud like key defender numbers in the 50s.

We don't have many players outside our starting XV worth anything so trading a pick for a player is the only way we can bring new players to our club. Happy to have WhiteX to help bolster our backs (or forward if he ever plays there) since we have no depth in those two areas.

Our defense is better than I first thought and so Ibbo was on the table. KK was in that 'would prefer to keep but could be persuaded' category. Walters is a guy that Jay and I rate highly and seems to be only improving, McDonough needs to find his place in the Tiges 22 but should be worth it when he does and is a chance of F/D DPP and N26 should get me a decent kid since I know my drafts.

Will be very interesting up the top. Looks Like there will be 3-4 clearly strong teams that want the cup and should break away from the pack. However going old to do so , so teams stockpilling young guns might rise soon.
Any idea when we will have trades ruled on Holz? Wanna make Sharrod Wellingham captain asap!
People told me to read trade rules and I did and it said trades auto accepted - unless the thread I read (which had been posted for this trade period it seemed) hadn't been updated properly.
Posting trades on the opening post when I get on a comp. Most go auto green but those that aren't are under review.
Croatian Crushers give Nathan Fyfe + Cyril Rioli
Iceland Polar Bears give Robbie Gray + James Frawley
Reasons: Our forward line is pretty poor and depth not so good either and having and injury prone Cyril who admittedly does score well when fit there doesn`t help us much and trading Fyfe shouldn`t hurt our midfield too much but Gray down at F1 should score just as well as Fyfe.Frawley we just needed another defender we can start after having Waters and to some extend Gilbert sitting on the bench all season injured and also because of this Waters has been traded and Frawley can effectively replace him.
Thank you to everyone that put offers in but we had to tread carefully with what we did and this trade helps the team the best

I accept the deal. Certainly giving up a top forward in Gray is tough after he helped Iceland so much this season but was his breakout. Trading him out for a consistent midfield gun in Fyfe which is badly needed at Iceland so had to pounce! Also Fawley was good this season but usually only when he played up forward. I can't risk it on him and getting Rioli eases the pain of losing Gray but risky with his injuries. But hey, so was Gray!

Confirmed. Hill fits my younger rebuild structure and if he doesn't break the trade this will be a loss despite NDS' age. a 65 average mid isn't very good. But praying he'll break it within next couple years.

Losing David hurts, but Wingard if he takes the next step (or at least returns to 2013 form) puts me in what I think is premiership contention. Marley is solid but won't kill me off by any stretch so to make up for that I've mildly improved my draft position.

Storm give: Trent McKenzie + N18
Svalbard give: N4 + R8
Cannon had a down year and while I reckon he'll bounce back, I like the prospects available with the picks Svalbard has offered, N18 added in because we've already got three picks before it (if the deal goes through). Had to weigh up what impact letting Cannon go would have on the back line but we reckon we have the players to cover and can also pick another up with R8 given the quality of the pool.

Russia trade: Adam Trealor + N28
reason: was really looking forward to these picks and already listed the guys in my squad but im all about safety. The guy i was going to take in the nat i believe looks amazing for fantasy and think he will be a F/M. Was really painful to basically trade him out but as all rookies who knows what he will do, I think he will be a star but lets see how that plays out. The guy i would have taken in the rookie basically matched trealor this year and i think he can keep up his form but again a slight risk.
on potential im losing this deal but im getting a star to add to my now very very strong midfield.

To be honest I wouldn't mind getting a swift answer. Who cares if you haven't confirmed it yet. Better than working on the trade, then waiting all week for a result by which time you've started working on other trades to compliment it.
But hey, thats just me :p

I didn't even really know this was happening like this all I knew was we were waiting on someone to confirm they were trading
I didn't know I was part of a 4 way deal. My part is only between atto and myself?
Hanners + jetta + r19 for bont, Jmart, r7.
The old proven premo with upside for kids with upside conundrum, we needed forwards and youth and bont, Jmart give us that. Losing our captain Hanners is tough but we have some sort of mid depth kinda... If you count Scully :p
Hanners going to Croatia though so that doesn't work out unless a separate deal altogether now :-X.

I was offered a few players to pick from after making an offer for a different player and Hanners was one of them yes did not realise the trade was being incorporated into a 4 way deal
Well, it looks like I need to explain myself.
Firstly, I looked at the four-team trade in the way of what each team gets and loses, all of which I think is fair (I might have lost a bit, but I didn't think it'd be enough to reject the trade) and not the whole trade.
I apologise to the people involved in the trade for not making it clear that you were part of a four-way trade, I thought I did, obviously I didn't.
I'm disappointed that the trade didn't make it through, these people all wanted Bonts and I wanted to be creative in giving everyone (expect one) something other than Bonts rather than one person getting Bonts and the other being disappointed because they didn't get him.
It seems like that there is varying opinion on Bonts between myself and admins, I have never bought into the Bonts hype (to the point where I don't think his goal was that great, I think Eddie's was better and I'm a Port supporter!) whereas the admins think he's something special.
I'm almost at the point at the point of making him untradeable because of this and I really don't want to do that, I don't like letting people down.
lol him winning goal of the year doesn't really influence peoples opinion that much it's all the little stuff he does so well as a first year player

Jetta is ok for a forward (although Bonts will be better in a couple of years) but Pav is way too old, JJK isn't much of a fantasy player, and Polec only averaged in the 70s for a mid. From a glance, it looks like you're being brutalised...
That said, as a rebuilding team, I would be ecstatic if I could trade for Bonts and/or Martin and now I'm upset I didn't get in on it.

I don't think it's so much that Bonts is untradeable but I see your part of the trade as "almost 19 years old, 70 average forward + potential future superstar in Jack Martin" for close to nothing. both of those players are very potential based, and therefore very tradeable for the right offer, but

Swedish Metal gets: Lewis Jetta + Rookie Pick 19 + Matthew Pavlich + Josh J. Kennedy + Jared Polec + Josh Bruce + Rookie Pick 13
Swedish Metal loses: Marcus Bontempelli + Tom T. Lynch + Adam Cooney + Jack Martin + Rookie Pick 7
if you call R7 to be worth R13+R19, Cooney to be worth Bruce + Jetta (and the excess of 13+19), then you're left with Martin + Lynch + Bontempelli for Kennedy, Polec and Pavlich. With Pav on his last legs, it's a pretty big lose out in age and talent.
If my part of the trade was what stopped it then I can increase it by removing the rookie picks.
Keep in mind that we have traded Fyfe in the past for players like vlastuin and toumpas and other rookies to see them all stop development after a year. Vlastuin was the next big thing after his first year and now he has sucked.
Don't read into the hype, take it at face value.
Losing Hanners for two potential guns is a risk and it, as seen above, doesn't alwas pay off

that part wouldn't.
Credit when due! That trade must have taken a while to organise. And to think he also kept is reasonably hush hush that it was a 4 way trade ***stands and applauds!
Those players are from 3 different teams and would be 3 separate trades involving those players so you can`t just throw the names out grouped together when they are not from the same team.
If I was Atto, I wouldn't touch his forward line of: Fwd: Jack Riewoldt, Marcus Bontempelli, Tom T Lynch, Jack Martin.

Haha, I actually think it's tough to put together a 3-way deal yet alone a 4-way deal! Even more props to Atto for making it without any of the other teams knowing about it ;D.
Can never please everybody so think he just has to realise he doesn't need to please everybody else as they can always search elsewhere for a player!

Sorry guys swamped at work, working 10 hours than having to come home and spend all night organising for my sisters birthday.
sent the quick reject this morning as no way this even comes close to passing.
while looking at the 3 other teams they are all wins but probably not big enough to be rejected, looking at Sweden they lose way way too much. It appears as the 3 other teams have won the trade and all those wins are compounded to a loss for Sweden.
will have to sort it out when i get some free time.
Metal trades: Robert Murphy + N53
Lions trades: Matt Shaw + R49
After further review, I have decided that I need to do the job Nails was doing, and that's to rebuild this team. Considering that I have very little solid young defenders and heaps of old ones, gaining young defenders is a priority and I believe Shaw is the right man for the job.
JBs or Memph to confirm.

Confirm.
Murphy may only have a couple of seasons left but he's a premium scorer and will help us with a title challenge next season.
Russia trades: P.Chapman + N38
Stallions trade: N.Kommer + M.Grigg
We wanted Chappy to further strengthen our chances at a flag and despite having one season left, he is a good scorer. Kommer and Grigg are too highly rated youngsters. Grigg was great when he was unsubbed in 2013 and a new coach should see greater opportunity. Nick Kommer who had a very handy 2013 unfortunately was injured in 2014 but with good pre-season should do wonders, very valuable to Essendon's game plan. Kommer was #1 for pressure acts in 2013. Russia gets two young blokes to help with their rebuild whilst I get a forward to help with my flag push. Kills me long-term a bit but gotta go all out considering I've gone older in defence already. Pick 38 evens it out nicely.

Another trade by Russia today
Russia give: Stephen Hill + nat 20
Sweden give: Tom T Lynch + nat 25
Very even trade. Russia were after a forward older than our young guns in Cameron and Hogan to replace Chapman. Sweden were after a good scoring mid that was younger than 30. Nat pick upgrade albeit small levels the trade out.

I have determined that young, decent mid is a priority, and Hill joins his brother in that category. I have a fair few young forwards so losing Lynch wasn't too much of a hard hit. Thanks Rids and Nost!

Croatia give Nat 3 + Nat 19 + Nat 47
Iceland give Scott Selwood + Chris Mayne + Nat 58

As good as Nat 3 would be to use Nat picks are not going to help us too much we need players that are playing now.
Scooter will hopefully get back to some good form and will really help out our midfield.
Mayne will really boost our forward line.
Confirmed.
We love both Scooter and Mayne but they'll find greater opportunity over in Croatia. Both shall be missed, especially if they can regain past form but certainly can help another team out more than us :). We like the draft and may need to prepare ourselves to replace some older guys, so planning ahead here.

Switzerland Trade: Hayden Ballantyne

Hungary Trade: Bryce Gibbs + Josh Jenkins
Serbia Trade: Travis Cloke + Josh J Kennedy
Reason: while everyone was gaining DPP I was losing it. NDS and Lester both are mid only so im loaded with mids. My forward line always needed help and with 2 guys who are lock 22 and will be forwards forever I feel a little safer up front.
Confirm.
I need more mid depth and I have a million forwards, so the trade works for me.
Croatia give Matthew Pavlich
Iceland give Daniel Wells
Basically we have an excess of forwards now due to positional changes and lack decent mid depth as we lost mids to forward line and defence
An oldie for an oldie pretty much
HP/Bieber to confirm
The Biebs confirms this.
The Biebs believes that with Positional changes as well as drafting in a large amount of midfielders, that The Biebs has needed to search for some forwards. As The Biebs believes Wells may not have as big of an impact as he once was, he was collateral in order to obtain a forward that The Biebs was after as cover.
Don't bring that rubbish here HP, I almost rejected the trade.
But it passes as it's fair.
Don't tell me how to live my life >:(.

Thanks for the quick confirmation :)
Swiss storm trade: Clinton Young
Svalbard valkyries trade: Tom Lee
I need a little bit of solid defensive cover... and frankly that's all young is at best. I have a bit of a forward surplus atm, so nige gets a young forward who he can do whatever he wants with.
That trade is depressing haha

Well, Zip has stacks of forwards, like myself, in fact I think he has even more than I do. I was torn on whether to delist Young or not, I have heaps of mids as well and then he got DPP, but he won't be needed in defense for me and I think his days at Collingwood are numbered with all those good kids they have coming through. I figured helping Zip out with his defensive depth and getting in one person I'll have no hesitation delisting works. :P
