2014/15 brings on a new chapter for The New York Revolution, with the helms being handed over to AaronKirk and RaisyDaisy
We would like to thank Sid personally for all the wonderful work he did for the Revs, from starting to build the team to providing us with all the graphics and information (Hope you don't mind us using/updating them)
Sid, we have big shoes to fill, and hope you continue to cheers on The Mighty Revs!
Nice!
It looks like we are officially closed for business now in regards to the trade period. We have been extremely aggressive and have completed a near full list overhaul, trading out 26 players from the 2014 squad and delisting 4 rookies however we have 15 new faces ready to represent New York for Season 2015
We still have a bunch of trades waiting to get approved, but once they pass we are ready to roll and go into the NAT Draft to pick up some future stars
Finishing 14th in 2014 required a complete overhaul, and we feel that through our trading we can be a big improver in 2015 and push for Finals
Here is an overview of where we stand now
(http://oi59.tinypic.com/21j4w07.jpg)
This would have to compete with Dublin for most successful trade period in the history of the competition. Phenomenal stuff from New York has them looking very strong for the upcoming season.
Looking at those defenders, I reckon you can definitely trade us one of them. :P
Cheers RB :)
We are very happy with what we have been able to do. We now have a very balanced team with good depth accross the board
Just need to make sure our pending trades get passed, but I dont see any reason why they wouldnt
Hehe Nige - After our discussions today I doubt we can help you :(

wow so many changes man. It'd be interesting to see the before and after teams side by side

The players highlighted in Yellow are the new players we have recruited, and the players in Blue in the Traded Out Section were the original starters in the respective positions. Players in Bold are our starters now
(http://oi61.tinypic.com/2l95hg6.jpg)
As you can see, our forward line has been the major improvement. We only had Cloke and Black, and had to play mids OOP. Our defence has also improved and we now have depth on all lines
Very happy to see that all of our trades this week got passed - Thank you coaches :)
We now just have the following 3 trades remaining to be reviewed this week
Mexico City Suns give: Pick 44
New York give: Craig Moller + Pick 62
Dublin Trade: Michael Walters + N39
New York Trade: Harley Bennell
Beijing give: Matt Rosa
New York give: Aaron Black + Pick #39
I cant see any issues getting these passed
Suck up. :P
At this stage this looks like our best XV for 2015. A couple of tweaks may be done via late trades.
B J.Adcock, J.Gibson, H.Shaw, P.Duffield
C T.Liberatore, S.Johnson, J.Macrae, M.Duncan
R M.Pyke
F T.Cloke, K.Tippett, J.Kennedy, H.Bennell
U S.Fisher, M.Stokes
Not looking too bad
Well, to say it was a quiet trade period for New York would be a massive understatement
We made so many trades and really changed the way our team looks, and we think we can really improve in years to come now (Not that hard when we finished 4th bottom this year :P )
With the trade period over, we are now heading into the draft with one first round pick (11) and one second round pick (28) so hopefully we can get 2 great kids with those picks
Here is the new look New York Revolution, with an overview of all the players we traded out too
(http://oi58.tinypic.com/kcxv8h.jpg)
Our best XV as of now
B: Heath Shaw, Josh Gibson, Paul Duffield, Jed Adcock
C: Steve Johnson, Tom Liberatore, Mitch Duncan, Jack Macrae
R: Mike Pyke
F: Travis Cloke, Harley Bennell, Kurt Tippett, Josh J Kennedy
U: Leigh Montagna, Sam Fisher
I feel like we have a solid starting XV, but we also have a great mix of up and coming kids who should have bright futures. Guys like Kade Kolodjashnij and Dylan Buckley down back. Mark Whiley in the mids. Nathan Vardy who could be anything if he gets his body right and a couple of talented forwards in Hayden Crozier and Daniel Menzel
Next stop, AFL draft to get a few more talented youngsters :)
Now with the SC positional changes released and the Drafts over, here is the New York Revolution team for 2015
(http://oi62.tinypic.com/2yplpoz.jpg)
Losing Vardy in the ruck was a surprise, and we are light there, but we gained several unexpected DPP's which was a real bonus :)
OP imagery updated to reflect our 2015 season :)
Change that potato pic to any other player and it'll look flowering awesome.

Haha I wish I could but I don't have the skills for that :-\
Would prefer to have Libba in the pic - our captain
The name is very apt this season. The team has undergone a huge revolution.
You have done an awesome job with the OP and other Graphics RD.
Maybe we need to replace Cloke with Libba in our OP.
Thanks AK, although I cant take much credit as it was the previous coaches who designed most of it. I just managed to change names and a few other minor things in MS Paint LOL
I'd love to change Cloke to Libba, but don't have the skills to do that
The resizing of Libba's image didn't come out as well as I'd hoped :-\
(http://i.imgur.com/Nii7z4f.png)
Thanks' so much for taking the time to do that for us Dave, that's awesome and really appreciate it :)
Is there any way the picture can be bigger?
Libba looks like he is stoned lol, but I cant really find a better pic of him :-\
Would be awesome if you could cut him out of this pic and make it fit
(http://resources1.news.com.au/images/2014/03/02/1226842/649945-9e7b6dd2-9e95-11e3-a562-7581a373430e.jpg)
You mean the picture of Libba in my one? Do you mean like, so his head goes to the very top or something? It can be done, I just did that really quickly last night with not much effort haha.
I need to get photoshop or something though, cause paint is flowering shower haha. Might see what I can do tonight, fairly busy today.
Dave pls, why don't you do any of this lovely work for us? :P :o
If you could make your pic of him a bit bigger closer to the top that would be cool, but if you could somehow cut him out of that second pick I posted of him with the ball in his hands and use that, that would be awesome

Does New York's season (premiership push?) hang on the outcome of this injury?
I was waiting for someone to bring this up!
I think we could safely assume that if Libba is gone for the year, then so are we
holz should be happy now that the trade didn't go through lol
Fingers cross Libba is OK!!

Confirmed ACL.
We're flowered :'(
And seeing as we have both Libba AND Macrae, we're double flowered because Macrae will cop the tag for sure now! :'(
Hope Duffman comes out OK, popped his shoulder in NAB challenge and looked in a bit of pain :-\
Everything's falling apart before the season even starts!
And after all the great work we did over the pre-season too :'(
1 like = 1 prayer for NYR
FWIW I've already copped Waters, Harwood, and Hanley in BXVs. Just wondering how I would've coped if I didn't trade Darling haha #genius
Now Duffield is gone for 6 weeks
At least we can cover him for the week or two he misses :-\
He's a loss but nowhere near the comparison of the loss of Libba.
:'(
Libba is always going to be a tough loss :(. Duffield gonna hurt your backs but got some to cover him like reliable Grundy for depth :P.

If someone like a Bennell can step up to a 110+ as a captain option we will be fine...... I hope.
Wouldn't mind having Jed Adcock as D5 right about now. :P
Daniel Menzel cannot take a trick poor fella.
Tore his hammy
Poor guy, just keeps getting injured when it starts to look like he may play a bit that year :(.
Looks like theres a chance we will get Duffield back for rd1, but now Montagna has been confirmed to miss rd1
Cant take a trick. Libba and Montags is going to be hard to cover :'(

The two posts above have been updated and give an overview of how the 2015 trade period looks for New York. It's been another full on trade period in which we have been heavily involved in with 2/3 of our list being overhauled
Players highlighted are the new additions to our 2016 team while the post above this shows the team we will be submitting for season 2016
For the second year running we've made some big changes and said goodbye to some big names and loyal servants of the club but we now find ourselves with a younger team which has more balance across all lines, and up and coming youth that will hopefully develop into great players for the future
We were never really able to land an A grade ruck which would seem to be the missing piece of the puzzle, but with what limited options we had we have done the best we could
If the final week of trade weeks trades pass (which I would like to think would) then we finish the trade period with 36 players on our senior list and Picks 18,19,20 and PSD 1 to fill the 40, with 6 picks including 2 first rounders in the Rookie draft to fill our rookie list
All in all, it seems like everything has fallen into place and we are pretty much where we want to be, looking forward to the upcoming drafts and 2016 :)

The last time I played you in a H&A season, JJK did that to me ::) so I'm glad he's got that out of the way :P
As I said in the previews, our last 3 encounters have been decided by 4 or less WXV points, so I expect another epic encounter!

Rd, you might know this already, but preseason draft picks go on the senior list not the rookie list
Yep, just put it all in numerical order for now
We'll be using PSD 14 and putting them on our senior list, and the rookie picks will fill the rookie list
Just waiting on another trade then will update it all correctly :)
List updated with final team and picks :)
You dont have to use a pick to upgrade a rookie. Can send pick 69 my way and upgrade Marsh for nothing.
I asked about that earlier, and was told we have to use a pick to upgrade rookies to the senior list
Didn't sound right to me, but Purps, Nige and Ringo said we do?
Quote from: RaisyDaisy on October 27, 2016, 06:26:17 PM

Think of it more as, to promote a rookie it costs you "a spot on your senior list"
Like, say, you didn't promote Marsh for the time being, you'd have 33 senior listed players, meaning 7 draft picks.
So they'd be 37, 44, 52, 56, 57, 69 & a 6th round draft pick.
But, you are promoting Marsh (simply by submitting your list lodgement with him on the senior list), meaning you'll have 6 draft picks:
37, 44, 52, 56, 57, 69
You'll PASS 69 to use PSD 14, but you can pass ANY pick to do that. Like, say you did trade Pick 69, and just had those first 5 picks available, you'd automatically get given a 6th rounder, which you can pass on to take PSD 14.
So, it just kinda costs you a spot on your senior list, rather than a draft pick, which is kinda the same anyway.
So to recap my vague explanation, you'll have to take x* amount of picks in the draft, and you'll be given draft picks to get you up to x amount of picks, or draft picks taken away to get you down to x amount of picks.
*x = 40 minus the amount of senior players you name on your list lodgement.
That's what I always thought, but it was expressed differently previously
Anyway, we have NAT 87 too, so I guess 69 and 87 we will be passing
Lodgement above updated

Great work man. We're looking good for 2018
Wish I had time to contribute more.
It's been another relatively busy trade period for the Revs as we decided to farewell the majority of our older players and turn our attention to youth. 2019 will be primarily focused on development, with an eye to becoming competitive in 2020 and beyond
Assuming all pending trades pass, we enter the NAT Draft with 2 prized 1st round picks, and a much more youthful list

Following up from this 12 months ago, everything seems to have played out as hoped. We bottomed out in 2019 as planned, and have done a massive amount of work recently to see us ready for 2020
The overall age profile has been significantly reduced, the best XV and depth is very good and we've attained a full ruck set
New York trade: Isaac Heeney, Brodie Smith, Tom Liberatore, Paddy Ryder, Tom Barrass, Taylor Duryea, Lachie Henderson, Alex Sexton, Tom Atkins, Mitch Brown, Ed Phillips, Fraser Turner, Martin Frederick, Pick 3 + Pick 22 + Pick 40 + Pick 58 + Pick 76
New York receive: James Harmes, Darcy Byrne-Jones, Luke Dahlhaus, Tom McDonald, Luke Dunstan, Tom Doedee, Rhys Stanley, Cam Guthrie, Jake Kelly, Steven Motlop, Elliot Himmelberg, Ryan Abbott, Pick 53 + Pick 55 + Pick 57 + Pick 62 + Pick 71 + Pick 74
Massive win :)

It's taken a couple of years, and it's been a hell of a lot of fun, but the rebuild is complete
Pretty amazing to see that just a couple of seasons ago the list was fairly old, not really going anywhere and had no real direction, but now the list has a clear direction and solid core to hopefully ensure many years of success moving forward
Entering the 2021 season NY has a list of 44 players, and only 6 of them are 27 or older, and considering 3* of those 6 are rucks in which there's not too much of a choice of in that area, this is an excellent result in terms of both age profile and potential moving forward
NY is positioned to start being competitive now, and in the future
