Good fist crack mate. I'd change a bit though,

First. I'd have Krul and a 4mill backup rather than Howard which will save 2 million.

Then same sort of thing, get some cheaper defenders along with maybe Shaw. And try play 3/4/3 which is defs the best way. But good effort mate!

Made a couple of changes.  I still like having one quality keeper, so I've kept the Howard/Krul combo.  I swapped out Skrtel for Vlaar and downgraded Ferdinand for Bruce.  I then upgraded El Ahmadi to Johnson and switched out to a 3-4-3.  It's not set in stone, but I'm happy for now.

Because with van Gaal as manager he won't be the coaches pet. RVP is going to be the player he builds the team around, which most likely will piss off Rooney, and I can see him not doing well as he mopes around complaining about not being the main man at old Trafford.

Van Gaal had success playing 2 strikers at world cup, there's no reason he won't have similar success with a RVP/ Rooney partnership.

nice side, decently balanced, bench a worry.

this is my side, i reckon its the most balanced team i could think of, few UTD players with their soft start.
Sigurdsson to swansea is a must for any FPL team.

plenty of value choices.
Punchy or snoddy??
Caulker/Rio or Verma (if he goes to UTD)
wisdom or simpson??

what do you guys think??

I don't mind the team, but I feel as though you need at least one big name player in your mids.  I see you have 4.0 in the bank so why not use that to upgrade one of your mids to a star?  You can't really rely on players from Crystal Palace and West Ham to get you those really big scores that someone like a Toure or a Hazard can get.
Title: Re: EPL Fantasy 2014/15 Thread.
Post by: Keeper27 on July 23, 2014, 12:56:16 pm
Agreed. It's only my first draft.
That's why I left the money there.

Mainly looking for bargains.

Remy could be a very decent buy once he's in Liverpool red.
Not sold on Yaya just yet

You can't really rely on players from Crystal Palace and West Ham to get you those really big scores that someone like a Toure or a Hazard can get.

But the likes of punchy, snoddy, noble and Johnson are value for money.
They score 120+. And priced at 5-6. They are bargains.

Johnsons avg the last 2 seasons is a MASSIVE 140. And at only 6.5 he has to be considered.
He's scoring like someone who's usually priced 7.5-9.
Bargain.

Hazard is definitely in my sights but I don't think he'll go 200+ again. So is Fabregas. 160+ season for him to be a pass.

Post by: Chelskiman on July 23, 2014, 01:51:41 pm
I agree with value for money picks, but I think it's risky having more than 2 in your starting line up.  My midfield consists of Sanchez, Cesc, Barkley and Johnson.  Two star players, a player that could very much improve on last year and a good value pick.  Not saying my midfield is the best either, but I think it strikes up a good balance and it means I can still have quality in other areas too.

Love that fwd line.
Was gonna use it but UTD easy start make RVP to good of a choice.

Keeper just upgrade noble to more of premo mid, maybe Ramsey. Fab might be good too

Fabregas is a great choice. I said that before. 160+ for him.
I reckon he'll get his avg of 10+ assists and 5+ goals.

Flanno (if he can secure Johnsons spot), hendo, borini (if he goes to the black cats), brady, rose, Simpson are all on my watch list.

Verma in (for his move to UTD)
Nasri in (for now, maybe changed to Siggy when he transfers and 2.5 in the kitty)
Sagna or Debuchy (either way its good value)
2 (possibly 3) United players for their soft start (goals/CS)
Chelsea/City CB as i think they'll have the most CS.

Not sold on Yaya just yet

I wouldn't touch Vermaelen at this point. He's not going to play at Arsenal, his form is awful Buyer beware
Sigurdson could be the bargain of the season, if he recaptures his form from his first spell at Swansea - although that diesn't tend to happen
Remy I like....but how will LFC use him?
Davies at Spurs interests me... as does Lamela, watch out for the left back at Saints who will replace Shaw...watch out for the left back at Swansea who will replace Davies.
May look at Eriksen....I think Spurs will do pretty well this season.....and I don't think LFC will do nearly as well. Luis Filipe is an absolute lock...Would avoid Diego Costa early..I sense he's overrated and overpriced. Dzeko lock...especially with Negredo injured and Ageuro constantly battling injuries. Herrera....very interesting at that price. Smalling and Jones could be great picks...United will go very close to the title with no CL comittements.
Just my early ramblings..... ::)

very hard to pick with any real confidence. The squad has very little EPL experience and their signings thus far suggest caution as opposed to trying to find real quality to actually stay up.
Could look at Jutkiewicz...they spent a fair bit (for Burnley) on them so he is almost certian to play.
Kightly was on loan there last season and now they have signed him permantly....so again, siurely a big chance to play.

good opening stab. Giroud is a riskier pick than last season IMO. He isn't going to play every week.
Diego Costa is a big question mark for mine. New country, new team, and I would suggest loss of form at the back end of last season. He is absolutely going to be the focal poiint of Chelsea's attack but his price is excessive. He may struggle to adapt quickly to the EPL...So I think his price will drop early and I'd look elsewhere to start with

Thinking of playing 3/5/2 and going a few value picks in midfield.

Mannone (Myhill)
Bruce, Rafael, Cameron (Upson, Hooiveld)
Sanchez, Hazard, De Jong, Sigurddson, Tadic.
RVP, Sturridge (Zamora/4.5)

Defence is not amazing but solid enough I think.

I would reconsider Strurridge. He might find life harder this season as will Liverpool. Liverpool were one trick ponies last season and teams will work them out. The loss of Suarez is massive, there forward line will be less fluid and I think Sturridge will be easier picked up by defenders/ midfielders tracking back (when he drifts wider). They won't finish top 4 and he is overpriced

Gerrard is interesting. His points total was greatly enhanced by the number of penalties LFC managed to acquire last season.
Lallana will take a more advanced role in the side, so I suspect Gerrards output to drop. He'll also be rested now and then given the CL committments.
I would avoid playing both Rooney and RVP personally....but it could pay off. I think you are a bit light at the back to be honest, proably one risk too many...but it if works,...you'll be some kind of god  8)

potentially he is. I think that Van Gaal will put his faith in RVP early and see Rooney played second fiddle. However I think the best bet is Rooney with the 2m reinvested in stronger other options.

Updated Squad. Happy with it now. even across all lines. 0.5 in the kitty.

GK - DDG is a lock @ 5.5, with their easy start im expecting a few clean sheets.

DEF - My back 3 should be a lock for starters. Debuchy should improve his scoring if Arsenal can replicate its 17 CS from last season. Chelsea will have a few CS's too. Decent back up in Coloccini and Targett (who seems to have replaced Shaw)

MID - Fab will kill it this year. Mata will go back to 160+ with LVG playing him in his right position. De Jong/Siggy are going to be the value buys this season. LOCK IT IN.

FWD - Costa will score 20+ goals with all the talent feeding him. Rooney should start good with easy start he'll have a massive year - assists & goals. Dzeko should be #1 with Negredo out (been reading Jovetic is doing well preseason, not sold, possibly Injury Prone)

Watchlist - Ramsey (still think he'll be better value than Sanchez), Nasri, Silva, Eriksen, Pelle

Watchlist - Ramsey (still think he'll be better value than Sanchez), Nasri, Silva, Eriksen, Pelle

What's de jong worth mate? Maybe go to soemone like Shelvey if you can..

Already got Siggy don't need Shelvey.
De Jong is only 7.0. I'd like Nasri but I'd have to cut 1.0 from somewhere else and ruin my lines

LOCK IT IN.

solid team. Fabregas is tempting but I will wait and see. I think he's gone backwards as a player. Chelsea clearly see him as a Lampard replacement, working off the main striker whilst providing discipline in the middle of the park defensively. I don't think that his heart will be in at totally at Chelsea and I don't think he'll be as good as you think. But he's certainly on option

Solid enough side.
Will Vlaar keep his WC form going?
Punchy is a solid choice with their relatively easier start.
De Jong has had a good preseason.
I'm rethinking my choice in Fabregas, and I might change him to Ramsey.
Luis should be a starter. Can arsenal rack up another 17 CS's like last season?

Good even team.  Good luck.

Well here is my first up attempt, which I can guarantee will change a lot before the season starts. After my worst season ever in terms of final rank last season I'm looking to push back in to the top echelons of the comp, where the season before I was sitting just outside the top 1000 more than halfway through the season, but slowly fell back to finish in the top 20,000...

GK
Mannone and Pantillimon fighting for the Sunderland spot and they generally do alright for points.
Def
Zabaleta for the strong defender, although with Sagna now at the club could be in and out so a bit of a worry.
Jones should get plenty of game time as long as he stays fit, and with them playing 5 at the back should mean clean sheets and give him the opportunity to push forward for goals.
Azpi I think will lock in that RB spot for Chelsea this season, but can easily change to Luis if he doesn't.
Trippier and de Laet chosen because they either score goals or get assists for their clubs and are cheap.
Mid
Sanchez should really be playing as a forward so plenty of goals and assists on offer.
Eriksen really turned it on after January and I expect him to continue, he is a quality player! Would have risked it with Lamela, but he is the same price for some weird reason.
Schurrle I think should be starting for Chelsea each week he is a jet, but another to wait and see on. Could easily change to Ander Herrera who is priced the same. Will constantly be in the thick of it for United and is a beautiful passer of the ball so expect him to create plenty of chances for RVP and Rooney to slot away.
Barkley will show more improvement this year.
Johnson just for the solid scoring that he gets and is priced so cheaply for what he delivers.
Fwd
RVP is who van Gaal will be building his team around so expect plenty of goals from him now that he's over his injury troubles.
Nugent and Ings both dominated at Championship level, expect one of them to continue that trend in the higher league.

Obviously you'll play Ramsey instead of Albright firstly...

But if you're going to play  a  3-5-2 formation then upgrade Albright to siggy at 6.0

Mertsecker won't start according to my research so change him to someone like B.Davies. Some other defenders are dodgy too. Vlaar is likely not going to be great unless he transfers clubs. Cameron probably won't start either. It's not a bad start.

There's more value than Howard as goalie too, De Gea (the man utd goalie) is only 5.5 and they have an easy opening draw

Although mannone and krul have a nice rotating fixture and they cost a total of 9.0

@HB

You'll know more than I do about EPL without a doubt so I don't want to say too much or I'll get in over my head. That team just sort of looks to be lacking one more "super premium" player.

RVP to Rooney frees up 2m which could turn schurrle or Barkley to a much better player.

RVP isn't 100% going to play in Gameweek 1, (we don't know of LVG will ease him into it) and Rooney had been firing in the praccy matches. It's heaps of $$$ on someone that's not 100% to play at this stage (it may change before round 1, LVG may come out and say he's certain starter)

Anyway food for thought. Our backlines are relatively similar but you've spent an extra 1m than me there

decent side, is Schurrle locked in for a starter in Mourinho's side?? i dont think so.

Eriksen was amazing 2nd half of the season, avg'ing 7.22 PPG for the last 10 games. can he continue it with Pochettino's defensive style? what will his new role be?? will it be fantasy relevant??

not sold on Sanchez yet, and @ 10.5 you'd expect a return of 210+, personally i dont think he can do it. YES i know he had 19 goals and 12 assists in 34 games but that was with an attacking Barca who scored 100 goals compared to Wenger's Arsenals's 68 league goals.

I'd rather save some coin and grab Ramsey. 146 points in 23 games with 10 goals. i think he be better value than Sanchez.
(personally the more i think about it the more im convicing myself to change Fabregas to Ramsey)

I think Barkley will score more or less the same. 120+
De Jong is one at the same price who i think will outscore Barkley.

FWD line falls a tad bit short IMO. Rooney will be better value than RVP.

not tryna put you off your team just some suggestions.
good luck.

Pochettino does not have a defensive style...even if he did, he wouldn't be allowed to use that at Spurs. Spurs will play a high line and press the ball up the field. Eriksen I believe will play off one stirker. Spurs won't play both Soldado and Adebayor because there pressing of the ball and work ethic is poor. So he will use Eriksen behind the striker. Making him an excellent choice IMO

I have Lamela in my team currently. The thing with Lamela is that he can play a variety of roles...not so sure that Eriksen can. My view is that Pochettino has been asked to get maximum out of Soldado, as he was an alarming failure last season but clearly has great quality. If you looked at the way Southampton played (and how Pochettino might try and replicate) Lambert dropped a little deeper and Rodriguez tended to provide pace and penetration...through the wings or channels. I think Spurs will try and get Lamela forward past Soldado and use his pace. Wheras Eriksen will end up playing more like Lallana did. Lamela and Eriksen are both good picls in my view. Lamelas should score more goals but Eriksen will be involved in the play a little bit more.

Sorry the word "to start" was bad. I meant to start in my team, not start for city.  He will start. He has just been looking very average in these friendless and with Jovetic scoring 5 goals already, I can see aguero coming back gw3 and forcing a dzeko/Jovetic rotation. If Dzeko fires obviously he's safe but I don't want to have to take a risk.

would depend on weekly fixture as to the formation I think I've got great flexibility with this squad to do many things from week to week. First week would be as above for 4-3-3 but generally will be a 4-4-2 as fixtures will likely give 1 of my mids a tough week. Hopefully this affords me luxury of minimal -4 trades early on and even ability to hold my wildcard until later in the season. Well, that's the plan anyway.

I wouldn't pay much attention to pre season form for established players. They are all on differrent fitness programs and indivually being managed. Ageuro works better along side another striker. City won't play Ageuro up top on his own very often

Krul could be a 4.0 to save a buck, are you not planning on playing DDG all season?

Expensive backline, yet still no chelsea defenders is an interesting move. Bruce should become Wisdom who should play early GWs. I don't like Vlaar at AV but if he move clubs then he's an obvious choice. Overall it's ok, but arsenal have a semi-tough draw at the start so Debuchy will be hit and miss, not to say it won't be a great pick, but Evans or Jones at 5.5 cost the same and have a super easy opening 5.

Can't complain about the mids, Sanchez and Ramsey double up is very very strange but if you're keen then go for it. See point above about Arsenal though. Would pick one, either to mata (seems to be a lock atm for most people due to pre-season form and opening draw) or a maybe chelsea player (hazard/fab).

Dzeko, Lukaku, Remy is to put it bluntly, below par. Especially since you have invested a decent amount, you'd want a bit more bang for your buck.

Rooney without RVP is almost a must (see points above on mata but add in penalty taking as well)
Lukaku is a risk that could pay off, everton don't have the easiest of draws to start.
Remy was highly selected thinking he would move but since it doesn't look likely, he isn't a great pick any more so I would move on.

Consider Remy to Austin/Bojan and your 5th mid to Siggy at 6.0 and play 3-5-2 or even grab zamora (bench fodder at 4.5) as there are more value in the mids this year.

Decent first up attempt but come back with Rooney in your team please  :P

cool analysis of the team.
agreed with most parts.

GK's are fine. DDG for early CS, and Krul is a great bargain choice (10 CS for 120+)
Too much money spend on the DEF, no Chelsea or UTD (easy start - CS) ??? Baines/Zaba to Jones/Cahill + 1.5??

Dzeko, Lukaku, Remy is to put it bluntly, below par. Especially since you have invested a decent amount, you'd want a bit more bang for your buck.

Rooney without RVP is almost a must (see points above on mata but add in penalty taking as well)

agreed with this.
fair bit of money to be spent on an OK-ish fwd line.
Dzeko isnt a guaranteed starter with Jovetic firing in the preseason. (save 0.5)
Lukaku has proven he can score against big clubs. so the tough start isnt a worry for me.

Consider Remy to Austin/Bojan

or Nugent. and save 2.0 at the same time.

Dzeko -> Jovetic +0.5
Remy -> 5.5 +2.0
Baines/Zaba ->Jones/Cahill +1.5

thats 4.0 that you can use to change El Ahmadi to a 8.5 (nasri ??) or a 7.0 (siggy/punchy/De jong/Cabella) and use 1.5 to upgrade Lukaku to Rooney??

that'll give you a 3-4-3/3-5-2 flexibility

this is me squad.
GK - Bego, why not the bloke went 135+ in back to back seasons. Gilks. Bench Fodder.

DEF - Them 5 are all starters. They all rotate perfectly for easy games till GW 20. (i'll always have 3 easier games and a big chance for 2-3 CS and hopefully a few goals.)

MID - where you score the most points. 5 starters all will go 150+ IMO.

FWD - Costa looks to have settled fine with his new team mates. Rooney will start the season on fire.

note: Siggy (2 goals, 2 assists) can go to Puncy for a safer option (CP easier start too) or to Hoilett (3 goals) playing in "the hole" and save 1.0
Nugent (4 goals) to Austin (4 goals)/Bojan (3 goals)/Fletcher (3 goals)

Great looking team keeper.
If Sanchez fires I assume you'll just dump the worst performing mid to a bandwagon and upgrade someone to Sanchez so it's relatively safe too.

Cheap defence but as you said they are all playing and rotate. Only have questions marks about Cameron starting, he isn't a 100% starting, maybe look at aanholt for Stoke instead, he seems to have nailed down a spot at the same price

Alright, took a bit into what you said, thanks for the in depth stuff lads.. Like I said, this is my first go and while I'm not an avid supporter I do follow it reasonably closely and love watching the game!

De Gea (Krul)
Cahill, Debuchy, Jones, O'Shea (Bruce)
Sanchez, Fabregas, Siggurdson, Barkley (Albrighton)
ROONEY,  Diego Costa (Nugent)

That's a great team you've got there!

Nugent is scoring well against 3rd, 4th and 5th tier teams, can he score in the Premier League? Leicester have tough opening fixture too. Bojan is a better option.

Plenty of better options at that price TBH.
Siggy @ 6.0 and so is Punchy. They'll all finish on similar points IMO.
Even Hoilett playing in "the hole" @ 5.0 can go 100+

You can use that money you save on better players

Sturridge and Lovren goals already :))

Don't forget Coutinho. Whatta gun.
Lovren and Sakho is gonna be a scary defensive pair.
Once we get Moreno we can flower off Johnson.
Too much of a liability.
Manquillo looking good.

My big issue now is which arsenal midfielder.
Sanchez
Ramsey
Wilshere
Ozil

Leaning towards Ramsey

defensive pairs are pretty much only as good as the protection they get from their midfield. That's the challenge for LFC this season, striking the balance.

Ramsey IMO. Wilshere probably going to sit a little deeper, Ozil could be anything but doesn't play next week so might start slow. Sanchez has massive potential obviously but I think he will get managed just a little bit...Arsenal have so many options. Ramsey will be close to winning the PFA player of the year. He's an absolute gun and better value than Sanchez

Rambo will be better value being 1.5 cheaper but Sanchez technically will be a FWD who people can choose as a MID.
I find him to be an interesting pick.

If you go all out and grab 3 quality FWDs (eg: Rooney/Studge/Lukaku/Costa) and have a few attacking/fwd mids like a De Jong/Sanchez/Hazard that potentially gives you 4-6 FWD players.

then you got set piece/penalty takers (gerrard/yaya)

it'll be interesting this year thats for sure.

Slight tweak of my team, think I'm right to go now.

Would love your thoughts however..

Would you rather Sanchez, Costa, Henderson or Lukaku, Mata, Ramsey? Already have Sig and Punchy!

Thinking the latter and that's what I'm going with at this stage.

Also Shaw & Nasri or Debuchy & Mata?

Ok here we go

DeGea  ( Myhill )

Lovren, Debuchy, Shawcross ( Hutton, Moore )

Erikson, Ramsey, Fabregas, Mata ( Shelvey )

Costa, lukaku, Bojan

Only 500k left in the bank, might use it to upgrade Hutton or Moore for a 4.5m defended.
Plan on switching between 3/4/3 and 3/5/2 depending on fixture between Shelvey and Bojan

Only 4 goals in 24 matches in Holland last year doesn't fill me with much confidence for Bojan. Granted I can't find his assists stats, but I feel he has been greatly hyped for years now and never delivered...

Looks good. Huge risk not having Rooney. As it's been said before, on pens with RVP out and has a super easy draw first 6 weeks. In 40+% of teams so if he fires, then...you're out of the running early!

You only need 1m so maybe downgrade shawcross and then lukaku to rooney if you want.

Bojan was better than Messi as a youngster (I kid you not) so he has been hyped every single year...always failed. Until hopefully now :P

Had a good pre-season, soft draw, starts at home against Aston Villa who look rubbish defensively. If he scores he will rise in $$$ as people jump on, if he fails, straight to the bench and you play shelvey anyway!

That's my tactic too but have siggy (consdering snoddy instead) at the moment.

Fair enough. Rose has started 5 and Davies 4 so there isn't much in it. Still think it could go either way but if you're so certain then back your gut! I thought Davies was a long term investment at just 21 but as I've said earlier, I just started getting into EPL (and soccer) from the WC onwards, I don't even have a team to support yet! Hows fantasy soccer work with price rises. Because even if they make money, then get injured, you dont actually get any profit on the price they went up, you sell for original price hey? Correct me if im wrong?

It goes up when a certain amount of peopel buy the player. I think when 30k get someone in they rise 0.1million. You sell the player for half the profit.

Eg. Rooney. You bought at 10.5, he is now 11.1. If you sell him, you sell him for 10.8.

Correct me if wrong anyone.

Would change de Laet at the moment to a 4.0 such as wisdom, Moore, Bruce, duff.
It's an expensive backline, you'd want the back 3 playing each week so downgrade trippier to a 4.5? Chester, Ferdinand, mariappa (if fit), van aanholt all should get starting roles at 4.5.

Then you can change your drinwater/airfield to your puncheon/snodgrass/hendersons or maybe make one a 4.5 like Wanyama and the other someone like Eriksen.

Mutch is 5.5 if you just want that option instead

Davies isn't going to leave Swansea to be a long term investment and sit on the bench. He's got 10 caps for Wales and will be expecting to start and would have discussed that with Spurs before he signed. If you haven't picked a team yet....I have just one word of advice. NEVER SUPPORT SPURS  ;)

Here's an option a little from left field..

Ashley Young! Just saw that he is only priced at 5.5! Seems almost certain that he will be starting the season with doubts over Luke Shaw's fitness. Yes he will be playing as a wing back rather than out and out winger, but he has looked impressive in pre season, and has shown in the past he is capable of scoring goals and picking out assists...

I'd say no...because it limits what other Utd players you can get in. He might play as a wing back...but you have to play him in the mids...and he will have defensive responsiblities. If he was listed as DEF he would be a lock. Too many other options in the MID for mine. But a great left field option HB....I like it

Yeah I won't be getting him either, but could be a sneaky pick. Agree though with the defensive duties he will have it will curb his influence somewhat in an attacking sense, so will be interesting to see how he actually goes...

Mata playing behind a front 2...with Utd's early run of games probably the easiest in history. He's a lock for me. Been in my side from the start and won't be going anywhere. I can't see any reason not to pick him. Agree on De Gea though

Mata playing behind a front 2...with Utd's early run of games probably the easiest in history. He's a lock for me. Been in my side from the start and won't be going anywhere. I can't see any reason not to pick him. Agree on De Gea though

agreed. I changed my GK from DDG to Bego.
i have no faith in Jones/Smalling/Evans as your CB's. those names dont strike fear into any fwd line. LOL  :P
UTD will defo get a few clean sheets but not as much as people will think.

.
Can anyone talk me out of Lambert?

wont be a starter. he'll come off the bench to take a load off Sturridge and early play cup games. and he's happy to do that.

Here's an option a little from left field..

Ashley Young! Just saw that he is only priced at 5.5! Seems almost certain that he will be starting the season with doubts over Luke Shaw's fitness. Yes he will be playing as a wing back rather than out and out winger, but he has looked impressive in pre season, and has shown in the past he is capable of scoring goals and picking out assists...

agreed, he'll defo be one on the price rise. he'll play in LVG's back 5.
got a few other names at 5.0-6.0 that'll outscore him IMO. (Mutch/Hoilett/Punchy/Siggy/Noble/Snoddy)

Rooney, Costa (Bojan)

Only thing I would consider doing  is maybe Sanchez to Ramsey. Then dzeko to Rooney. Not sure on Sanchez fitness and I'm waiting for man city strikers to settle before considering or maybe just Sanchez to Yaya the man was a beast last year

If you've got krul, you may as well get Elliot since if krul goes down, Elliot will play and it saves you a transfer.
Not a fab of tripper, tough draw and probably won't keep many cleanies. What happened to Davies? Ward from GWs 2-7 has a great fixture and palace are solid defensively so he may be an option.
Too much guessing over Chelsea's back 4 for me, anyone that's not Cahill or Terry is a risk for early game week and you don't want to pay 6.0 for him not to play surely? Just an unnecessary risk unless you're certain he will start (I personally think he will but many people don't on the Chelsea forums)

Rest of the team is good, continho will need to learn to shoot properly to be a good pick but it's worth a punt for sure. Not sure about Herrera at the moment since man utd have some "big news" to share in the next 48 hours. If it's Vidal or Di Maria signing then Herrera may be rotated more than you'd like at the price.

From another forum
"Fonte > Clyne

New BPS system favours fullbacks, and Clyne is a flying fullback capable of bombing forwards, completing dribbles and earning assists from crosses.

Verdict: No brainer"

I am not a fan of trippier but some are going for it. Would prefer Ward after GW1. Don't start with Vlaar, high ownership + hard start for villa = cash loss waiting to happen! Look at other 4.5 options like van annholt, ferdinand, chester etc (if you're going chester than change duff to wisdom)

Rest of the team looks good! Could even slip tripper to a 4.5 and after fonte too, grab hazard for gerrard if you're keen but big mid already!

(El Ahmadi may not play so I am assuming you'll be playing in 3-4-3 otherwise you'd need to fix that, maybe to marney or wanyama)

Just a few thoughts guys.

@ 8.5-9.0 who do you guys reckon will score more?
Sterling/Nasri/Silva.

@ 6-7.0m who will score more?

Siggy/Punchy/Barkley/Hendo.

The last 2 mid spots have been changing since day one.
Fab, Ramsey and Mata are locked.

De Jong was initially in me team but injury concerns have kinda put me off. Don't get me wrong if fit from the get go and his form preseason he'll definitely be on par with Barkley or even better

Silva/sterling over Nasri?

Not sure on this. Sterling and Sanchez vs Snodgrass/Henderson who rotate each week and Sturridge. I think Sturridge will go boom but the other is more solid. Ahh #LastDayDecision

And it might be better to get Sturridge so I don't have to tak hits during the season,

Howard (Myhill)
Luis Filipe, Jones, Lovren (Vlaar, Bruce)
Fabregas, Sanchez, Eriksen, Sterling (El Ahmadi)
Costa, Dzeko, Bojan

if i decide i need to trade Bojan or Dzeko up, then any of my midfielders can take a small hit.
defence seems expensive but i think there's minimal risk there.

Wisdom, Moore, Hutton, duff, Bruce are the ones you can bank on for early GWs :)

I keep changing between 3-4-3 and 3-5-2, it's doing my head in! With bojan I can rotate with siggy on the bench, but I'm feeling the diouf punt at 6.5 and in 0.4% of teams super tempting!

Best defender 6m or less already have lovren and debuchy

Davies at Spurs stands out for me. Spurs full back will be high up the pitch, he will play everyweek as well.

Too much of a risk for me. Rose has played every single preseason game ahead of him. Definitely not a certain starter.

Either man utd at 5.5 stand out. Ward at 5.0 is popular.

If Davies has been bought to sit on the bench I will eat my pants...and when you say every single pre season game......you actually aren't talkling about that many at all given he only joined end of July. Davies will play.

Rose played over Davies. Please upload a photo of your pants being eaten ;)

Player Ferdinand over Chester because I didn't click confirm changes, classic AF mistake

If you guys are unaware, the price changing system has changed back to what is apparently was in 2011/2012.

It's much harder to increase in price now.

For example last year;

Let's say 50 000 transfers IN equaled a price rise of 0.1 per day.
50 000 transfers in the next day would also give a 0.1 price rise (100 000 total)
Finally a further 50 000 would give a 0.3 price rise total (total IN being 150 000)

They've changed it this year and it is suspected to be;

Let's say 50 000 transfers IN equals a 0.1 price rise.
The next price rise requires 100 000 transfers in (150 000 total) for a 0.2 price rise.
The final 0.1 price rise to make it 0.3 for the week will require a further 150 000 transfers IN making it a whopping 300 000 total.

Don't forget once they reach he target INs, you must wait for day change for reset (so even if you have 1 million transfers IN in a single day, it'll only go up 0.1 and you'll still need 100 000 transfers IN to reach the next target.

Lastly, as price changes for the week reset on Sunday morning (usually 11.45 am), this will now be the main time prices change. Let's say siggy rises 0.2 and using my example above, is traded into 120 000 teams (not the 150 000 needed to go up that final 0.1 to make it 0.3 for the week, once Sunday morning comes the target is reset back to 50 000 and he will rise 0.1 (with the next target INs being 100 000)

Basically we have to trade early for monetary value and can't wait to see if we pick up injuries on Sunday or we will miss most price rises. It's going to be a very hard season!

It changed depending on what that person initially costs and how many people selected him though.
For example
A 4.0 getting 50k transfers in should go up
A 9.0 may not go up after 50k transfers

I noticed that Vlaar, priced at 4.5 didn't go up today but was on 68,000 net transfers in (allowing for transfers out).

Anyway I'm valued at 100.4 currently which is reasonable considering trading is heavier on Fridays and Saturdays.

Not sure if his price has gone up, but ward-prowes in for Mutch and Sturridge to aguero might give you the unique you need.
Aguero already scored 2 goals and dzeko may be injured giving aguero a full start.

Maybe even Sturridge to Jovetic and Mitch to a 9.0?

I'd expect either Dzeko or Jovetic will make way for Aguero in starting 11 and a lot of rotation up front at Man City. Suggest Adebayor instead.

2 LFC fwds?? bit over the top?? what if the stuff up. no score from 2 expensive players.

my team is ok i guess.
DEF is holding up as i expected even though they are cheap as.
GK's rotate fine, Mids are all monsters. FWDs are ok. (i'll hold on Costa, maybe next week trade)

Guzan (Krul)
Coloccinni, Van Aanholt, Vlaar (Dier, Taylor)
Siggy, Silva, Fabregas, Ramsey (C), Sterling
Costa, Rooney (Naismith)

Team - 100.7
Kitty - 0.3

Yeah keeper. I did think about it being over the top but just look and Sturridge and Suarez last year. After this week against. Tottenham, Liverpool face.
Villa H
WestHam A
Everton H
WBA H
QPR A
Hull H.

I watch all Liverpool games aswell which makes having both better. Hope they both fire !
Really like your team mate. When I play WC I am gonna go with 3/5/2. I like the setup better than the original 3/4/3.
Ramsey C is a pretty nice choice and I think you won't be the only one who does that. Hopefully he can snag a few. Clara has a ridiculous run coming up btw. Look at maybe Chester after his suspension. Good luck

Yeah keeper. I did think about it being over the top but just look and Sturridge and Suarez last year.

Yeah but they proved they could play together at the end of the 12/13 season.
So when 13/14 came around and suarez came off his ban and sturridge already scoring every game it worked.
We don't know how Balotelli/Sturridge combination will work.
Being a Liverpool supporter I hope they score 30+ each.

You are right their fixture does get easier after spurs.

I like the 352 over the 343 especially if you have a solid fwd bench (Naismith) you can change easy to 343 if needed

Hold for what?? United have wasted their easy fixture.
I called Burnley Draw, I called Sunderland Draw, had United to beat Swansea.
this is how i see their next few games.

QPR - Draw.
Leiscter - loss (yes im calling it now)
West ham - draw
Everton - loss
WBA - Draw, maybe a win for UTD.
Chelsea - loss (6-1)

If Balo tears it up and links well with Studge i'll make the change.
Otherwise the team is solid and good for the long run.

This is why I quit before the end of the season every time.

Krul vs Palace or Begovic vs City. No kidding I chose Krul (4 points lost)
Naismith vs Chelsea, Duff vs United, Rose vs Liverpool, Wisdom vs Swansea. Play two. I obviously chose Rose and Wisdom (Naismith gets 6 and Duff 8)

Why should Rooney score against Burnley, what a gun captain... ::)
At least Jones and Sigurdsson got some points.

I like that 2nd team for sure. I just feel like holing that WC for as long as possible, worse could be just around the corner.

Only issue I have with your team, is that it's too Red. I know it means nothing but I always try to spread the Red and Blue around.

Would everyone say Chadli is the best mid under under 6.6? I have that much to spend on a mid (Mata going). Sigurdsson, Fabregas, Ramsay, Sterling my other 4, I don't want to double up either (Therefore not Dyer)

had the same dilemma with silva (he isnt performing as well as i had hoped)
but like you i didnt want to double up with Dyer but with swanseas easier matches coming up it might be a good risk to jump on Dyer.
Swansea - Chelsea (A), S'ampton (H), Sunderland (A), Newcastle (H), Stoke (A), Leicester (H), Everton (A)
as you can see some very decent games coming up. some definite points to get.

Thoughts on my team??

Bank - 0.3

dunno what to do on Rooney, i'll wait another week. if United stuff up again he is out.

Wow we have similar teams haha. Yeah hold Rooney, just don't captain him anymore (Mistake I made). ::)

Once you make that change in the middle, time to go for the defence I suppose. Ivanovic is the biggest name in that position.

Why would I change the middle? Maybe except for Silva who's under performing.
I love the big 5 mids as the current fwd situation isn't that great.
Sturridge can and will score again soon but not now.
City strikers suck coz you don't know who's on (Aguero if he can stay on the pitch)
Rooney underperformed.
No one else stands out.

My DEF is doing great for the cheap price because of a decent rotation.

BTW.  Liverpool 3-0 oh yeah  ;D and gunners draw  :P

sure CP are poo, but he's a proven gun performer.
12/13 - 110, 13/14 - 131.
those sorta scores are a great return for a bloke that's worth 5.9

always in CP's best (Bonus). if he goes 6+ and Silva bombs again next week im jumping on and using the funds elsewhere.

Ivanovic, Dier, Lovren (Vlaar, Bruce)
Ramsey, Sterling, Siggurdson, Mata (Larsson)

got an up and down fixture but he'll still be in CP's best every week.

Burnley (H), Everton (A), Leicester (H), Hull (A), Chelsea (H), West Brom (A), Sunderland (H), Man Utd (A), Liverpool (H).

no immediate concerns, your team is solid  for the formation. 343. and you have good bench guys (Vlaar/Larsson).
DDG/Mata are a slight concern if you personally feel that United cannot get back to their winning ways quick.
Personally i dont, calling it now this'll be their next few fixtures.
QPR (H) - Win (Remy gone), Leicester (A) - Draw, West Ham (H) - Draw, Everton (H) - Loss, West Brom (A) - Win, Chelsea (H) - Loss, Man City (A) - Loss

week 10 - 10 points.

i'm giving Rooney another week, and then Balotelli in.
Looked great in his 1st game, made a few chances for sturridge (possible Assists), and had a few shots (yes they were off target but he'll settle and get better)

Mannone  (Guzan)
van Aanholt , Ward, Clyne, ( Lovren, Wisdom )
Ramsey, Mata, Hazard, Ya Ya ( Wanyama )
Naismith, Rooney (c) , Jovetic

Could wait on the guns, could move on Rooney and Mata, could wc the lot.
Will wait til later in week and see what Hazard has done to himself.

Any suggestions gratefully received. :)

Not bad mate. Maybe take a few hits.

Yaya - Siggy
Haz - Silva
Jovetic - Costa
Naismith - Balotelli?

I think you are short but that'd be good I think. Although Naismith is scoring well. Not too late for Siggy either. He is a beast

You could even just go Yaya -  Silva and Jov - Mario.

Don't really know how they work out pricing, but my guess would be 10.5 (that's what Costa was right?). Has scored goals in every league he has played in and I would expect him to do well in the premier league too (although I would also expect United to beat Burnley).

Will be interesting to see how LVG fits in Rooney, RVP, Falcao, Di Maria and Mata when they are all fit...

      I would think.

RVP Falcao
Rooney Mata Dimaria .

But Mata could be benched is what I am hearing.

Rooney Falcao
Di Maria,  Mata, januzaj

Do people think that they'll get back to their winning ways?

If they start winning in a few weeks Mata could be an ok choice (8.9) but I'd rather Punchy @ 5.9

Am I the only one with Henderson from Liverpool? He's doing decently for his price so far.

he's been great. Siggy is the better option currently @ 6.0

Making Rooney captain again I think :s

LOL, guess Ramsey wasnt much better.

Yeah also have siggy obviously 😜 Hendo has a good fixture ahead so I've gone mata to sterling to double up on pool mids.

Was between hazard and Rooney for C last week, thinking it's between Sterling and Rooney this week too.

Worth a shout, but I think you'd rather Naismith for a bit less right now, and I'd have some concerns if your team structure allowed both.

Haha yeah. My time was not bad but scoring terrible. Thought I should freshen things up. Did a bit of research for the defence aswell. It's very cheap.

Team was.

De Gea (Gilks)
Debuchy, Lovren, Caulker (Bruce, Wisdom)
Mata, Ramsey, Siggy, Mutch (El Ahamadi)
Rooney, Balotelli, Sturridge

Team now.

Krul/Heaton (Foster)
Manquillo Wilson Taylor (Duff Wisdom)
Fabregas Sterling Ramsey Siggy (King)
Balotelli, Falcao, Costa.

My defence is cheap. I know. But I looked at fixtures and I can field 3 defenders a week who have these fixtures.

Leicester H Villa H WestHam H
Sunderland H QPR A WestHam A
Burnley H Newcastle H Everton H
WestBrom H Palace H Sunderland A
QPR A WestHam H Swansea H

I think that is good enough, I love my strikers and mids. Having Balo and Sterling is good because I go for Liverpool and watch all games. Not keen on any city players atm so I got Fab instead of Silva.

Nice moves.
Love the cheap defence.
I had a cheap defence from the start and as long as they rotate well you are getting points.
Love the mids. Got your big 4 too.
Love the Balotelli pick, as a Liverpool supporter he looked very promising and goal and assist points won't be too far away.
Costa is a gun. My only concern is Falcao.
Coming off a serious injury into an under performing team, might take a few weeks for em to gel together and then their "easy" run of games end and will have to face everton and Chelsea.
Naismith is a great cheap choice. With Barkley out for a while he's guaranteed to play.
Most likely in the "hole".

Other than that I like it. Solid on all lines.

Still thinking about trading out Silva for Punchy though. 5.9 is too cheap for a bloke that goes 110+ in consecutive years.

Assists?? Not really something Balo does that often haha! ;)

I think Ben Arfa is one to seriously consider and is only 5.8 at the moment. Will score plenty of goals and get assists for Hull if they play him...

I get ya, but if you watched his first game for Liverpool you'd be excited too.
He was tryna assist a few of the boys and I think he linked up well with our attackers.
His fitness is a minor issue with all the pressing he has to do (went back a few times to cover moreno) but that'll get better with more game time. Under Rodgers I think we'll see a better balotelli than ever before.

With punchy, I think he is a gun aswell but I'm not sure whether taking out silva for him is worth it! Your chouce though!

Silva won't always be in City's best with their fwd line and stacked midfield.
Punchy will always be in CPs best.

Bruce is a good manager,  getting Ben Arfa is a great move.
He is a gun. I agree that that he'll get goal and assists points throughout the year.

If you've activated your WC now I would be jumping on all bandwagons right this second and hope by the start of next round they have gone up 0.2 so you can bank a free 0.1.

Example;

Jump on Naismith at 5.3, Ben arfa at 5.8 etc
Before lockout they are now 5.5 and 6.0

Go to your planned team above (doesn't cost a thing because you've activated your WC) and trade them out for a profit of 0.1 each right before the dead line for gw4

You have flexibility to go from 343 to 352 if needed.

Wouldn't worry about Howard, he has a tough opening fixture until round 7 so just hold and hope for the best.

Well I guess you better start with the players most likely to drop in price. Hutton and wisdom won't fall so you can take care of that next week. This week probably get rid of both Eriksen and dzeko (maybe dzeko to super Mario)

Early reports are saying Costa is injured and if it's true, you honestly may need to wildcard since you'll have 7 players needing to be traded out out of your starting 11

Surely i don't need to use my wildcard yet  :o  :-\

Eriksen has an easier fixture, but has gone down by 0.1 already.
Dzeko has a slightly tougher fixture, and there is that uncertainty about the whole Man City fwd line..

replacements for Eriksen don't look really promising, even with the cash (max 10.1)... Hazard, Di Maria, Dyer, Gerrard.
replacements for Dzeko look a bit better (max 10.7)... Rooney, Balotelli, Adebayor, Weimann, Jovetic

i might hold off a week regarding my defence, worse comes to worse, Naismith comes off the bench for a Blackett doghnut.

If dier is indeed injured and Blackett doesn't play, you don't get a Naismith donut (you need to play a minimum of 3 defenders) so you'd have to play Hutton and wisdom with their bad fixtures. Naismith could cover dzeko if he doesn't start or Costa if he is injured otherwise another donut there :/

Reading a few people using their Wild Cards.
Got this from another site.

Quote
How to build your wc team:

Step 1 - essentials

After much consideration and deliberation I have reached the conclusion that there are only two absolute essential players in FPL now:

Costa
Siggy

That's it.

Step 2 - one of each

Now you start adding people by groups:

You can have one of fab/haz
You can have one of Ramsey/welbeck/Sanchez
You can have one of sterling/Sturridge/baloteli
You can have one or two of Ivan/debuchy/Moreno
You can have one of Rooney/falcao/ADM
You can have one of collochini/krul/jammat
You can have cone of clyne/Bertrand/ forester
You can even have a differential between tadic/lamella/mirallas

Step 2 - cheap defenders

Choose 2 to 3 more good cheap defenders from this group:

PVA Chester collo naylor duff Ferdinand

Step 4 choose your cheap attacking players according to money left -

One of Naismith, zaha, boyd etc.
Oh, and don't forget a second gk.

Step 5

Al done. Enjoy

Also from the same site.
Some research on Falcao first few games at new clubs.

Quote
First seasons in the league at...

Porto
7 goals in first 7 games

Atletico
5 goals in first 3 games

Monaco
7 goals in first 7 games

You can have one of Ramsey/welbeck/Sanchez
You can have one of sterling/Sturridge/baloteli
You can have one or two of Ivan/debuchy/Moreno
You can have one of Rooney/falcao/ADM
You can have one of collochini/krul/jammat
You can have cone of clyne/Bertrand/ forester
You can even have a differential between tadic/lamella/mirallas

Step 2 - cheap defenders

Choose 2 to 3 more good cheap defenders from this group:

PVA Chester collo naylor duff Ferdinand

Step 4 choose your cheap attacking players according to money left -

One of Naismith, zaha, boyd etc.
Oh, and don't forget a second gk.

Step 5

Al done. Enjoy

personally if i was to use the WC i'd go hard in the front 7.
but it limits your flexibility. You'd be forced to play 343

you could even downgrade Aguero/Balotelli to a Welbeck/Naismith
upgrade King to Punchy/Chadli/Larsson/Hendo/Downing
Upgrade Hutton/Duff to Ivanovic/Moreno

you'd get more flexibility you can go from 343 to 352

I really want to get Welbeck in my team, I know he is going to be a star. I think when Rooney's run of good matches ends I'll make the big downgrade, or if he fails to score against QPR (Fantasy score that is), then I'll make the move right away.

Hey guys, wc team! Any updates on Costa injury?

4.5 (4.5)
Ivanovic, Moreno, Wilson (Duff, McShane)
Silva, Fabregas, Sterling, Siggy (Jones)
Welbeck, Balotelli, Falcao

Or

4.5 (4.5)
Manquillo, Wisdom, Wilson (Duff, McShane)
Ramsey, Sterling, Siggy (Jones)
Costa Balotelli, Falcao

Nothing yet.

4.5 (4.5)
Ivanovic, Moreno, Wilson (Duff, McShane)
Silva, Fabregas, Sterling, Siggy (Jones)
Welbeck, Balotelli, Falcao

This team is Slightly better than the other.
personally i'd change Silva to someone who'll be better value and similar output and Costa instead of Falcao (if he isnt injured)

so you're team would be this.

4.5 (4.5)
Ivanovic, Moreno, Wilson (Duff, McShane)
Ramsey, Fabregas, Sterling, Siggy (Jones)
Welbeck, Balotelli, Costa

that's an insane front 7

I think  so. Plenty of people  think  that  he'll be on the bench when RVP comes back.

Herrera, di Maria
Shaw, jones, evans, rojo, blind

Please go Krul and McCarthy. Krul have such an easy draw for like 10 weeks and McCarthy should start for QPR after they paid $6 mill for him. Steal at 4.0. Invest the 0.5 so you don't have to play wisdom? Or mcshane upgrade?

Phil Jones confirmed out, possibly for 3 weeks. Gonna have to take a hit then bugger!!

Costa may not play this week (who knows after last weeks magically getting better hammy) so maybe don't the a hit for him this week.

Naismith has gone up 0.3 already this round man lol
Rooney has gone down and sterling has gone up, strange to consider doing all those now 😜

Probs go mata to sterling, jones to clyne, jutkajsjsjs to Naismith and wait for the Rooney trade?

haha i did them really early, didn't bother thinking twice and am regretting it a bit. I had just come back from a ten day camp and it was just a gut decision. :P

Jutkajsgjs to Naismith
Mata to Sterling

I have already done.

Just unsure on the Costa and Jones ones but will take the hit for Jones.

Thanks Spite :)

Oh great trades then!
Save 0.3 in the bank for Rooney to Costa next week in incase Rooney falls again.

That's why I said jones to clyne (I did that for a hit) but would prefer Moreno or lovren if I had the money

I really should've played my WC early in the week. In the end only copping the -4. Jones needs to go next week, possibly Rooney too (If he fails), or Danyn Rose, so another -4 coming up next week. :(

Ramsay should be fine for tonight though. :)

Last I heard was rose won't play and dier in doubt. Obviously jones needs to go too.

Why not trade out jones now? Why wait? If you're gonna take a hit next week, may as well do it now so you don't have to hold dead weight this week

My back 5: Terry, Rose, Jones, Wisdom, Duff
So if both Rose and Jones miss, then I need to play both Wisdom vs Everton, and Duff vs Palace.
If I make a trade, then I will cop a -4, so to justify the trade, I need a defender who will score at least 4 more than Duff, so make that number 6, as Duff will score either 2 or 1, can't see him contributing up front and Palace should score.

If I wait, play both Wisdom and Duff, I can then use my FT to transfer Jones out next week. Barring injuries, I won't need to make another trade.

So, which defence options are there? Shawcross vs Leicester is what stands out to me, and is only 0.1 more than Jones. I'll contemplate that, I might make that trade, Shawcross can definitely keep a CS tonight.
Title: Re: EPL Fantasy 2014/15 Thread.
Post by: Spite on September 13, 2014, 03:42:39 pm
But if they're both out, you need to play wisdom. And wisdom will likely either score 1 or 0.
You can hold off it Rose plays but it's looking really unlikely.

Best defense options as I see it (excluding super expensive ones)
Wilson, clyne, Moreno, lovren, shawcross as they all have easy fixtures for like 10 weeks

This week sorted some things, and sorta didn't. Heaps of players out there that could be good picks, whilst my own players do however seem to be holding their own. Got 61 this week.

Howard, (Myhill)
Dier, Lovren, Blackett, (A Williams, Wisdom)
Fabregas, Ramsey, Sterling, Eriksen, Sigurdsson,
Costa, Dzeko, (Naismith)
Bank 1.2.

Rotating Dzeko for Naismith for this week; whilst Williams is a solid defensive backup for hard fixtures.
Eriksen finally delivered. Still not sold on Dzeko but don't quite know what to do. Avoiding the wildcard.

When some teams play twice in the one gameweek, usually occurs once the Cup games get going. Obviously this balances out and they don't play at all in other gameweeks, which makes it difficult.

Yes, those of us with the WC, we must hold off! I'm telling myself my team is good enough, I'll live on 1, sometimes two transfers per gw for now. :)

Do Maria has already gone up 0.2 this week but still, he's such a gun. Who knows if falcao will start this week and if he does, mata could be coming off the bench. So much uncertainty but if your hearts set on it, do it or you'll regret it anyway (plus your team will look great with di Maria in it)

Sanchez did play this morning. Make what you will of that.

But otherwise there may not be any pressing needs to make a trade, unless you're considering a small defensive upgrade somehow.

But otherwise there may not be any pressing needs to make a trade, unless you're considering a small defensive upgrade somehow.

Yeah, I think that's a bad sign he played? Not sure what to do? Hmm

Swapped to 3 at the back cause we were getting analed but he wasn't doing amazing either but still no one was, purely tactical man.

Team for the week.
For my 2 FT I went, Krul to Forster and Manquillo to Wilson of Stoke, had the perfect cash so looks nice.
Happy with team on paper just hope it produces. Balotelli C for the 3rd week in a row, surely he will explode sometime soon, feel there will be heaps of goals in the Merseysidederby derby.

Midfield - Siggurdson 3, Fabregas 2, Sterling 2, Di Maria 4(c) lel

Downing! What a punt! Scores a nice 8 :) just need one more week out of him and he will become Chadli or tadic!

Scored 66 this week and my pre WC team would have scored better lol.

Had hazard, henderson, naismith, Rooney which I changed to downing, boyd, Ageuro and pelle and fixed up backline

Scored 69 including a -4 which I couldn't do anything about so I'm pleased after last weeks horrific events.

Mannone (Krul)
Ivanovic, Clyne, Dier (Wisdom, Duff)
Fabregas, Di Maria, Sterling, Siggurdson, Downing
Falcao, Costa (Ulloa)

Had Rooney and Aguero wasnt much of a jump, plus my cheap DEF helped.
they're still doing the job bringing in decent but consistent points.

wisdom might be on the chopping block if he doesnt get the game after the liverpool game.

might go Pelle to Cisse & wisdom to Azpi, i need a chelsea DEF as my starting 3

Tough spot. Do you fix backline or get a third striker?

How much money in the bank?

Lamela to boyd
Naismith to welbeck
Moreno to Baines.

If I could afford it that's what I would do. Baines and welbeck have a soft fixture coming up and pools defence is super leaky atm.

@keeper, front half so strong but you'll be benching a high quality player each week...
Would downgrade one of them to boyd (4.4m) to get Baines in the backline to add some stability.
Play pelle this week though.

might go Pelle to Cisse & wisdom to Azpi, i need a chelsea DEF as my starting 3

Azpi is a lock in the Chelsea DEF and they look solid.
so 6 points looks good week in week out.
Not sold on Baines or everton yet.

Pelle to Cisse looks ok as Cisse will start most weeks and since he seems to be the only real fwd choice it seems like the right move.
Wisdom to Azpi gives me a Chelsea DEF and a starter for my team.

I probably wouldn't trade pelle since he is one of the more inform strikers so far. Not only that, but soton have a very very soft fixture coming up and if pelle scores, he's likely to get the 3 bonus points too (he is one of the highest bonus point getters so far) - He was expected to have a bad week last week so don't trade him just off that. Most thought anything more than 2 points this week would just be a bonus.

Agree with you about Azpi, great value into a chelsea defence.

Baines missed his first ever penalty in the EPL last week resulting in a -2 but if he had scored that, he would have been in double figures this week. He has scored in double figures the previous two weeks before last too, making him the most in form defender. That was all without a cs. Now with evertons draw opening up, hopefully they will be able to keep some cleanies too.

Cisse is a punt and could be a very short sighted one. Only played 3 games, and only 1 game did he last more than 45 minutes. Sure he will start from now on but over 300k people traded in Ulloa last week and how did that turn out for them? 2 points against burnley. I'm not saying Cisse is actually a bad punt, but you will still have to bench either him or an expensive mid every single week so its going to be rather hit and miss if you play the correct one and its really wasted money on the bench.

If you have a bench totally under $17m (4.5m keeper, 4.4m mid, 4m defender, 4m defender) then you will have at this stage around $85m of players on the field. Your front 7 is great and your TV is probably much better than mine, but that means nothing if you can only play $83m on your field because you have to bench a premo each week.

The reason its usually better to drop a mid than a striker is because the cheapest playing striker is like 5m and the cheapest playing mid is 4.4m, so you get an extra $0.6m to play around with.

i get ya, i do, and that was what i used last year when i there was 3 superstar fwds firing (suarez, sturridge and Rooney)
but now we have 1 GREAT fwd in Costa and the rest are OK.
Rooney was a solid choice but he's out till Nov 2.

i can even go Pelle to Naismith (cheap starter & decent fixture) and will get points with Barkley out (expected to be back 18 OCT).
Wisdom to Azpi and have 1.0 in the kitty, but that'll cost me -4 points.

but i'll have the flexibility of playing 443 & 452

Fair enough. I think costa and aguero are two deadset guns though and sturridge is close to returning so we may get that holy trinity back up front.

Isnt the 18th of October in time for next gameweek? In which case naismith wont be a great options?

So you'd have to weight up cisse or boyd + money

Pros and Cons for both sides

Think I've got my team in a good place. Still carrying Vlaar tho  :-\

Krul
Lovren - Baines - Taylor
Di Maria (C) - Fabregas - Sigurdsson - Chadli
Naismith - Augero - Diego Costa (VC)

Myhill, Schniderlin, Van Aanholt, Vlaar

Need a better back up keeper (maybe even starter) and Vlaar ---> another Villa defender probably. Midfield's cheap but effective, then splashed on Augero and Costa.

Barkley is meant to be back (at this stage) for next game week so Naismith may be pushed out.  I assume you'll play scheiderlin instead so all good.

Why do you even need vlaar? It's not like you'd bench Baines so 2 of lovren, naylor or PVA would need to play each week so that's good enough imo. Would trade vlaar to a 4.0/.1/.2 like moore, wisdom, duff and use the money else where.

digglers army....on the move, you have been warned

Catch me if you can! (but seriously, you nearly caught me last week so slow down please)

Sitting just outside the top 10k, would love to hit 4 digits

Great job man, I've had two terrible weeks in a row (didn't crack 40 in both weeks) so have slid to 32k. I had 5 orange players but traded two of them out so hopefully it's all sorted even though I dislike my team now :(

Into 14k which is solid and don't have fab. Traded aguero to Rooney and happy with my team now.

Chambers or Steve Taylor to azpi next week too for me. Cracking Top 10k is still my goal (and also to beat my friend who is winning this league :/ )

Hazard C 28
Downing 9
Wisdom 9
Sanchez 9
Hart 5
Costa 5

I am 69 with Sterling, Siggy and Lukaku!

That has got to hurt! You've traded your keeper a lot so far haven't you? Strange tactic :P

So close to that magic 10k mark, just haven't been able to crack it all season. Not sure what to do with the WC, can't really see any holes in my team that I want to fix, except maybe zabaleta who sucks.

Finally cracked the top 10k which was my goal :D If I can finish with 4 digits then I'll be a happy man! Looks unlikely I will catch my friend though :(

Now into 2.4k after a terrible start to the week. Was on 13 with 4 players left but fortunately they all scored well :)

Slight increase to 2.3k but I fear I may be knocked out of the cup this week as my opponents team is very very good :(

Going to lose my cup by 4 points - I lost 5 points because Foster got injured at the 56th minute mark (would have scored 6 if he got the clean sheet bonus at the 60th minute mark)

Final 1024 was a good finish though, bit disappointed to go out in such a random way

Good effort that though .... I have just started taking this serious the last 4 weeks and have actually got ahead of the rest of my league by 21 points $500 to winner

Hoping for some feedback on my team ....

Myhill
Bertrand terry koscielny
Hazard coutinho cazorla eriksen
Benteke giroud Kane
(Foster Boyd pieters schlupp)
7.1m itb

What would u do with this team ?

How many transfers do you have this week?

Next week I woulds trade Benteke to Costa (pending fitness issue and if he gets a yellow card)

Cazorla could be in trouble with Ramsey firing so watch this space. Silva is pricey but he's an option, Mane is a more affordable if you want to go that way.

Foster to Davis should happen in a few weeks given Davis is Southamptons starting keeper now and is only 4.4.

Good luck!

Update, I am into rank 1230 after being 1330 and 1280 in the past two weeks. Not really moving anywhere so decided to take a gamble this gameweek with some less popular Liverpool players for the double game week. So I'll probably either end top 1k or outside the top 2k. Man I hope its the former!

Thanks guys! :) I already made my transfers but am panicking now that I've made a big mistake and should have just played it safe and pegged back 50 ranks at a time. Nothing I can do but I'll feel a lot better by this time next week, that's for sure

Well since Liverpool didn't score, no harm no foul to my ranking which stayed stable at 1.2k on the dot. 6 points from the top 1k, really really hope I can make it with only a few rounds to go.

Thanks! Yeah about the halfway mark I stopped checking for 3 game weeks because I was getting a bit bored. Really regret that now because I left players on the field that weren't even playing or had bad fixtures.

Coutinho scoring was a great start to this week. Chelsea keeping a CS and Aguero scoring as my C would push me very very close to the top 1k mark

Well I didn't click confirm transfers this week so that's my top 1k aspirations gone. Still should finish top 100 in Aus, so got to be happy with that! Runner-up in our league too to my friend whom I invited :P
