Title: XV Competitions INFO Session
Post by: kilbluff1985 on October 19, 2013, 11:03:04 PM
Hi guys this is a little info session on a great Competition that is ran on FanFooty felt this thread is a good idea as not many actually know about it.

So what the XV Competitions are? There are 4 leagues World XV, British XV, Europe XV, Asia XV.

Whilst they are all the same Competition they are different each league has between 14-18 teams World XV based on Supercoach Scoring, British XV based on Sportal Scoring, Europe XV Based on Dreamteam Scoring, Asia XV Based on Centrebet Scoring.

Originally when each League was created Coaches were selected and teams were drafted much like how SC Draft & DT Elite works you can not have the same player in multiple Teams in a League however here is the feature that makes these the best Fantasy comps instead of drafting a completely new team each year you keep your team until you trade them to another team in the league, delist them or they retire, you also get to to do NAT Drafting and Rookie drafting each year and as said once you draft a player they are yours until you trade them, they retire or you delist them.

If you wish to get involved in any way whether it's be a Head Coach or a Coaches Assistant you need to let people know it's good to get your foot in the door and become an Assistant Coach first show people you are in for the long haul as teams require attention all year round Head Coaching jobs can be hard to come by you have to wait for a team to become vacant then apply and hope you get it as there are usually a few candidates however becoming an Assistant Coach is fairly easy just need to find a Coach that wants one which isn't hard and the work isn't hard either the Coach may ask your advice on Trades they are considering or the might need a hand naming the team each week you pretty much just need to be active and be sure to check your Messages.

XV Competitions truly are great Fantasy leagues especially if you hate not having anything to do in the pre season and the banter is great between coaches from the weekly games, to trading and drafting plenty to keep you busy so if your interested get involved

This may seem like a stupid question but how does one keep track of available players and who has been recruited and delisted by other teams in your league?

Comp admins generally keep team lists. So every XV team is on record thanks to their admin. When it comes to delistings, a thread is usually made at the end of the season for these, as in order for a club to take draft picks, they need space on their list.

If an AFL player is delisted, they don't have to be delisted by their XVs club (for example - I kept Matt Thomas on my list in BXVs because I was 98% certain Richmond would snap him up, which they did). In some cases, a coach may not (generally due to carelessness/forgetting) delist a player. Examples of this include Nails still having Shane Tuck (who retired) on his list in EXVs and Torpedo10 still having Broc McCauley on his list in BXVs a full year after he was delisted by Hawthorn.

Additionally, there is generally a leftover player pool for clubs to pick from when the draft(s) comes around.

I might have missed something, and if I did, I'm sure somebody else will gladly add on.

Covered everything Nigey

Admins of the comp have the difficult task of keeping track of off season changes including changes of positions as well. Can confirm that there is a pool of left over players and in British I have 10 left over players not allocatted and list includes Cameron Shenton who made debut last week.
