Post by: Holz on August 21, 2013, 12:23:22 PM
the wolves and bison have quietly been putting up good scores while the competition had its attention of the big 3. Its time for one of these teams to step out of the shadow and qualify for the Grand Final. The wolves upset the eagles in the first round, while the bison took out one of the premiership fancies in the roulettes. Last time these teams played the Bison defeated the Wolves 143 to 134.

This game is too close to call.

The mighty Serbian Eagles look to push aside premiership pretenders in the metal. The old man brigade of the Metal is looking for one last shot at the cup, coming against a team younger, faster and more skilled than them. Serbia shocked  the competition with thier first loss of the season coming finals and will look to put than anomly past them. Last time these teams played the Eagles destoroyed the Metal 162 to 134.

the Question this week is how much do the Eagles win by.

That is the most flowering retarded pre-game write up I have ever read Holz.

Your team ain't shower.

Old man brigade?

Mids - Montagna 29, Jobe 28, McLean 27, Cooney 27 < currently our top 4 mids

None of them are even 30 yet. It's hardly an old grandpa midfield...

And there's no reason Minson (like 27?) Cox (still gun) Stevie J, NickRoo, Bartel Jeremy CAmeron, Treloar, Corey Enright etc. are going to slow down...

We're not as old as you think.

I like how you named enright with treloar/ cameron.... he's 33 next year :P Minson's 28 ftr

your team's good nails, but it's basically undeniably old. Just taking a  quick look at your team list, I think your average age for your starting 15 would be close to 30 :P

I told you I wanted you to check the team

I named it at uni when I didn't have my proper team lists and tools available to me.

Pendles (C) + Cloke vs. Easy beats Eagles

Cox vs. gun pies

not really fair is it?

Pendles 39 point 3rd qtr ::)

maybee you should have gun pies in your team except for easy beat eagle spuds.

350 from Pendles (C) and Cloke would be nice.

cox is going very well though.

Pendles was all junk in that 4th quarter

Didn't really earn much at all.

Darren Glass had an absolute clanger which resulted in a Pendles mark. So frustrating haha.

Will be interesting how captain Tags goes against GCS.

Agreed zip. Mine was smart, Shaw coming off a shocker, rumours of injuries.

Thompson v Dees. When I saw he was pumping out a huge score I was worried you had him captain.

To be fair not naming Thompson was the right decision still.

70.33 3rd average
75 5rd average

Got the red vest twice in his last 5 games

vs. other players who all had 90-110 3rd averages.

Holz, you've only scored more than us this season because half our team has been injured and you've been lucky

Non-injury sub, McPharlin is our no.1 defender. Missed him half the season

Jobe Watson - our top 1-2 midfielder, missed him half the season with other key players out that I cbf lising, while you've pretty much had your best team on the park each week.

We also had players playing below their capabilities: Cooney, Scotland, Cross, NDS etc.

Now they're back.

129 last week.

Injury and HGA = I get 0.25 of a player you still get 0.5

HGA loss could also cost me half a player.

In reality I'm half a player down or more.

Good thing most of your players are going above your averages.

Looking like Scotland and enright will combine for 230+

Earlier in the year they would struggle to crack 150

On that note Simpson and Goddard going huge

Torp Simpson over jom is looking the correct move, for the short run.

We're missing Bob Murphy

He'd be a guaranteed lock each and every week.

Shame I had him listed I swear.

I got so confused naming teams which you can tell based on the fact I actually named my AXVs team in the EXVs thread as well.

I reckon it's a go off last week's backline thing ;)

I don't have an issue with it

I made 1 mistake in like... 70+ games.

It was because I was at uni and had to go to work at 5pm. The issue was I had work at 5pm and had no time to go home. I'll just transfer my lists to my laptop as well and then no more problems.

At this stage the Bison look to have the Wolves measure. Amazing effort for a team that hasn't really been considered a Premiership front runner at any stage this year!

The Eagles have got the runs on the board at this stage and should account for the Metal, but Sweden's captain Montagna looms as a key player. A big score from him could throw things wide open. Both teams have been affected by selections, and hopefully this doesn't prove the deciding factor.

Up to date scores available at Game Day (http://forum.fanfooty.com.au/index.php/topic,84991.msg1167964.html#msg1167964)

I think we were one of the few favourites in preseason, before Suckling went down injured.
Had the best looking backline at that stage and forwards looked stacked.
Then everything went a bit downhill but we stuck around.
