Russian Roulettes

Belarus Bison

After looking invicible all year the eagles had a shock loss (caused by the spud advice of Ele). Eagles will be looking for revenege it what many thought would be the grandfinal matchup. Could the Bashers rise up from the ashes and take the flag?

Russia the second favroutie for the flag also had a shock loss with the Swan Ablett combo not going anywhere near what we expected. Will they bounce back ? The Bison have been consistently good all year, while they dont have the potential to go huge that some of the other teams have, they have the sqaud to be dangerous.

I know Bison is spelt incorrect LaHug ;)

I'd hardly say it was a "shock" loss for the Roulettes...

We were pretty much equal on points going into the round. I don't see how two teams scoring nearly the same for the length of the season can result in a "shock" loss either way.

basically a full strength bashers outfit taking on the eagles. Shoudl be a good battle.
Title: Re: EXV Finals Week 2
Post by: elephants on August 16, 2013, 05:01:48 PM
As if mate :P

5 of our best 15 at the start of the season all missing and with Birchall coming off a huge lay-off compounded by the fact Robbo is a sub-candidate...

If the Eagles don't win they should banish themselves from EXV.

Haha wow LH decides to post at the same time. Amazingly just the 1 player difference between the 2 teams. I opted for Brown in defense but LH has overruled and selected Chaplin instead. Let's hope that's the right choice :)

I can never decide that last defender spot. Brown, Chaplin, and Russell all suck. My logic was that Chappy took a lot of intercepts against the Lions last week and, in blustery conditions, he could do the same against the Blues. I don't see any of those three scoring above 60 though :-\
Let's hope I'm right.

Cheers for helping though. I almost completely forgot! Our cat brought a mouse into the house so that was preoccupying me...

Title: Re: EXV Finals Week 2
Post by: CrowsFan on August 18, 2013, 02:22:15 PM
Why on earth would you take the captaincy off Jelwood when he had scored 121 or above in 7 of his last 9 matches? The only times he didn't score that he scored a 98 in a loss, and 38 getting tagged by Crowly! Even with that score of 38 he was still averaging 118.78 over his last 9 matches. Madness to take it off him! :o

Argh so close yet so far. If we had of had Swallow in over Gibson and Daisy over Bird not to mention our other injuries we would have been in with a shout :(

Props to Holz and the Eagles though, they've been the best side all year so they deserve to go through to the prelims. I personally will be hoping our rivals from Serbia can make it all the way. Wouldn't be right that a team could go through almost undefeated and then not win!

Thanks ele, after all the presaon smack it's good to have us battling it out. You put up a decent fight.

No clue why selwood wasn't captain. I just assumed hr would be.

Definitely still kicking myself not backing in Jelwood again, he's in some amazing form. His form against WCE is actually pretty average but I should have looked past that :(

I instinctively went Fyfe vs Melbourne, silly of me but thankfully it didn't cost us the result :P

Cheers mate. Interesting that we both scored less than ele. I guess I was lucky in that sense.

Good luck for next season! I'm glad I made it to the final 4 as I thought I always should've been there. Top 4 in points this season but only managed to scrap into 5th. Feel bad taking out one of the best teams all year but I've got a long way to go.

Bad luck Nostra out in straight sets!! :(

Means either me or LH will be in the GF, that could actually be a good match. Interesting that Holz, Nost and Nails have been head and shoulders over the rest of the comp for the whole season but only 1 of them will play in the GF.

Good luck to those of us playing next week :)

Swallow wants to play alongside his brother. Be it at Belguim or Serbia... who knows? ;)

Could well be at Serbia so you pay up aha

Don't need him, won't make my team.

There is this spud you played, couldn't even crack the ton... Boyd? Surely he won't have much left in him!

Pendles lids Barlow Douglas Gibbs and cotchin.

Pendles? Never heard of him.
Lids? Oh the same bloke who hopelessly can't break a tag?

Douglas? Do... Not... Rate.
Gibbs? lol, just lol.
Cotchin? How'd he go this week?

That's good odds for someone who lost 1 game all season. Chuck 5 on the eagles

I'd chuck $5 on Eagles as well :P.

Although, Bison are putting on a solid display in the finals so far!

We're just chugging along. Although, I think we'll be in trouble if names like Mitchell and Kelly are rested as Hawthorn and Geelong cement their top 2 spots.
