Title: BXV - 2nd Trade Period Official Thread
Post by: Ringo on January 10, 2013, 10:54:50 PM
Have started this new thread for this trade period so I can list trades and give ruling on the trades.

You can start listing trades here but approvals will not commence until conclusion of Rookie Draft. Trades in this period are one for one.

You will be limited to 5 list movements in this period.  One clarification though is if you are trading out a player you traded in in Trade period 1 this will not count as a movement for trade period 2.  eg If you traded Ablett in in Period 1 and Traded him out for Pendleberry in Period 2 Trade to Pendleberry not a movement in 2nd trade period. This was clarified by previous Administrator and i do not think rule should be changed at this stage. Refer rule 5.8.

There are some pending trades in the other thread which I will move to this thread.

As per rules Administrator will approve or reject trades.  If trade is rejected appeal may be made to trades committee. Currently this committee is Ziplock, MyChumps and Jayman.  May look at replacing Jay as he now has a team in the competition. Trades involving Swansea Breakers for transparency will be reviewed by Trades committee for decision. I will make every effort to approve or reject trades on a daily basis.

Will also be posting Trades approved for Trade Period 1 so movements can be checked.

When posting trades for consistency can we post as follows:
Newcastle Falcons Receive:
Swansea Breakers Receive:

These trades are pending from previous thraed and will be ruled on:

1st Trade Pending
Newcastle Falcons Receive: J Martin + A Christensen + D Smith + J Newnes
Crosby Cruisers receive: S Johnson + C Judd + J Mcveigh + T Smith

Rationale: Cruisers are looking at immediate premiership success whereas Falcons are looking at long term strategy so basically Cruisers Short term Gain v Falcons long term strategy.  This trade was completed with Spinking and should be honoured.  Sid to be notified out of courtesy.

2nd Trade Pending

Birmingham Bombers receive Ward+Ziebell+Crouch
Crosby Cruisers receive Boyd+Scotland+Higgins
KB Comment OK my first trades been done the the reason being is i felt i had to many old players who might start declining anytime soon so i wanted a bit more youth or some better currency i know these cant be accepted until the window opens but i am just posting now anyway
Picker Comment Confirmed. Need a fwd and back badly and wanted Boyd back :) Didnt really wanna lose Crouch though!

First trade in the new thread:

Swansea Breakers receive: Dane Swan. Kewis Jetta, Claye Beams
Staines Steins receive: Keiran Jack, Ryan O'Keefe, Josh Jenkins

Needed some experience and a permanent captain which we receive with Swan, Lewis Jetta is a star in the making and Beams will break out. Sorry to lose Jack but when a player of Swans ability comes on the table need to consider.

Hey Ringo, not trying to be nit picky here, but could you and everyone please make sure they spell everyone's name correctly when posting a trade in this thread, as it will then make it a lot easier for me to track them and then update them in team lists once the trade period is over.
Thanks :)

I will do a check when posting approvals in the Summary of trades 2nd post in thread.  Know how difficult it is with incorrect spelling from drafts.

Thank you for your assistance in mainlining lists much appreciated.

um is that what you mean mate? a month long trade window is nice
Being generous to allow those on hols etc to still participate if desired.  No reason imo to close earlier as it will be finalised by start of NAB cup.

Swallow/Ward similar. Buddy over lewis, and ellis a long way over miles. Miles wont cut it at AFL level he will be a career reserves player.

And Ellis is a def, Miles a mid. Ellis every day of the week.

Also, most of those 7 games (6?) were at the end of the season. Bodes well for 2013.

yeah and Mackie is a premium defender the Mzungu for Simpson trade makes up for the difference between Mackie+Swallow

i'm sick of explaining myself tbh

To be fair on Kb. He doesn't have many defenders and no cover. I have some decent defenders and he also has an awesome midfield cover.

He just traded Ellis for Miles, when Ellis will probably average more than Mackie this year or at least very close to.

I thought the same when lez first posted holz as the trade was that bad.

I don't see the problem i still have one of the best midfields in the league, pretty awesome forward line and now a good backline

compared to most teams in the competition mine is pretty awesome not to mention i have some awesome young talent coming through Crouch, Tyson, Atley, Ziebell, Miles

my starting 15 is still better then most if not the best in the league and i have good depth

I shouldn't have a reaction here, but you withdraw without notifying me first and then it should irrelevant if it hasn't been approved. You agreed on a trade and you can't backout once it's posted. Wow.

there are no rules saying i cant backout of a trade once it's been posted

if you want to talk about being informed how about poaching one of my assistants and i was not informed

Was that last sentence about Holz? I didn't recruit him and didn't think he had anything to do with you. If it is Holz you should of messaged him about the trade. Yes this trade is in my favour and should not be accepted, but the fact you agreed on it and then people talked you out of it was a poor choice. I don't mind it being rejected, but instead of withdrawing without telling anyone, just message me and I would of said yeah fair enough. There is no rule, but it isn't the right thing to do...

Back if it Holz, if you messaged him about that trade, he would of said no. So if you go on about poaching your assistants. Lol.

There might not be a rule for it but its an extremely low act, and its not the way its done in XV's comps. If you give your word and agree to a trade then it should stand even if you changed your mind later

I would definantly not be happy if i was Lez and dont agree with what you did at all KB!

I did apologize in my original post about withdrawing for what it's worth, prob not much

Lez i don't blame you for being angry and i know i have lost whatever respect people may or may not have for me yes i should have messaged Lez first but i kind of just wanted to withdraw it first before Ringo possibly approving it and thought if Lez wanted to renegotiate it would be an option

so again i'm sorry that i went about the wrong way lesson has been learnt

Lez i got your pm about renegotiating but i'm still thinking about it

As I said was going to reject trade but looks like you are re-negotiating,

Been trying to sort out the History with the Birmingham Bombers and bear in mind I am a new Administrator as well.

It Looks like Birmingham Bombers  were initially coached by Holz and Bomberboy.  Holz then relinquished the position which was taken over by Kilbluff and as I understand it Holz was to be retained in a mentoring role.
"Congratulations to Kilbluff who will be taking over Management of the Birmingham Bombers from Holz.  Holz will be remaining as assistant and mentor, which is great as he is one of our most respected and knowledgable coaches."
Stew is listed as assistant coach in the Bombers new Thread.  Can understand the confusion with Holzs status if the mentoring was not followed through and listed in the updated thread.

In Kilbluffs defence he was not involved in drafting of the team and is still coming to terms with the Virtual Sports scoring and drafting so maybe had a misunderstanding of values when accepting initial trade.

Whilst I have still not officially ruled on trade I will accept that trade is withdrawn and you are in a re-negotiation process.

Ringo not arguing but just pointing out that Holz was listed as an assistant coach also in my team thread until today when i seen he was joining Lez's TEAM

but it's all good from my point Holz has since pm'd me and explained himself and whilst he is still willing to give opinion on trades for us in the future he does not have an official role

A trade between Tabs and Toga n Me

We Give: C.Judd + Henderson

Tabs Gives: M.Pavlich + D.Jolly

We wanted a solid forward line and Pavlich finishes that nicely, Also had no decent backup for Hale so hopefully Jolly can do that for us through out the year :)

Bombers give A.Swallow+T.Mzungu

Badgers give H.Hartlett+A.Mackie

Reason, i feel my mids are still very strong after this trade but so is my defense now and i feel i needed to do this trade to compete with pickers team plus no list movements used :D

CONFIRM
Lez and I feel that getting Swallow would make our mids the strongest in the comp with Cotchin, Griffen, Swallow, Barlow and that we can afford to spare a few backs due to our depth in that area.

Gawn is 21, played 4 games. Injured forever.

Siposs gun, will be 80+ DT scorer and probably around 100 Minimum in this game.

Yeah ok.

Its actually a good trade lez. There is a shortage of rucks in this comp as there are 18 teams and 18 #1 ruckmen.

Gawn should be Jamars replacement so should be a very decent scorere. Sipposs is just as unproven, him being a gun is only opinion

This trade has been approved - Passed by Trades committee.

Needed a back up ruck with Naitanui out for a while and Jamar possibly being rested at times. Trusting Gawn has the jump on Spencer at this stage.

anyone interested in Mitchell+Enright in a combo deal after one gun player for them?

Why are you trying to trade away your premiership hopes?

Its actually a good trade lez. There is a shortage of rucks in this comp as there are 18 teams and 18 #1 ruckmen.

Gawn should be Jamars replacement so should be a very decent scorere. Sipposs is just as unproven, him being a gun is only opinion
Yeah I have 7 rucks... I spose since they have Jamar too...

I spose its alright, but I would of offered more Siposs.
how is Jesse White a ruck??
Lol I don't know. Where does the spud play?

I am looking for a very good mid or forward.

Will trade all of these players in a combo: Mzungu, Embley, Cassisi and I.Smith. All of these players can go 100+ easy and would actually be good for some Mid starters.

Harwood easily makes my 15 over Macdonald and as Lez knows i rate him ;) i guess what your lacking to see is we need a mid did you realise that?? + Where going for premiership so Embley will be very handy next year. The funny thing is i looked at your team and in BXV hardly someone to give advice hahah.

So we get two starting 15 players for Higgins, sorry JB your comment doesnt make sense to me :P

Because defence premos out score average backs by the smallest margin out of all the lines. So it's better to load up on other positions.

It's exactly why I had Boyd swallow murphy Mitchell wells Kerr vince

Hahah good call Lez! How can you comment with Jacobs as D1 :o LOL

Your arguement is also shower if you think that JB, Average defenders in DT go 65-75 and Guns ave 85 -95. Ave mids get 90-100 and premium mids go 105-130. Or fwds ave 90-100 average ones go around 80 if you have a gun Defender then its a massive bonus and if you cant see that you got issue's man :P lol

Holz was saying that mids are worth a lot more in this game hence me having the best midfield makes me dangerous :o ad the former, best backline before I sold Mackie... Hartlett... And now Harwood :(

The rule works generally if an average back is 65-75 than an average mid is not 90-100. 60-70 is a back rookie lets say a mid rookie is 70-80 mid premos our score back premos by more than 10 so that's why you load up mid fielders.  In this comp it's even more extreme.

So a back premo who is good averages 110. A mid premo who is a gun can average upwards of 140 it's much easier to find a 70 average back than a 100+ mid.

Look at Boyd 158 average. You team him up with an easy to find 70 average back and you have almost 230 points

This is exactly why I picked Boyd and its why pickets will probably win the flag

Hawks Give/Recieve J.Caddy+J O'Rourke

For

Bombers Give/Recieve S.Mitchell+C.Enright

Reasons, i am aware i lose short time but i have traded so i'll be a contender for the next 5 years Caddy+O'Rourke will join the midfield of

M.Murphy, J.Lewis(M/F), Rioli(M/F), Ziebell, D.Wells, Kerr, B.Vince, Didak, Hartlett, Caddy, D.Tyson, A.Miles, Crouch, O'Rourke, M.Jones, A.Raines

so i think this trade makes a lot of sense

I drafted Brogan so hopefully he or Clarke are playing then i can move Cox forward and Lewis or Rioli to the mids to replace Mitchell's scoring

and i have T.McDonald who will improve sitting on the bench to replace Enright

i have thought about this trade very carefully

JBs to confirm

i thought potential in this comp meant a fair bit

and when i said i want to be a contender in 5 years i meant every year for the next 5 years

Again. Looking for a good forward. I've traded all my backline good cover so not my backs. My Mids out side the top 4 plus Prestia are for grabs and players in forward line like Nahas, Petrenko, Poupolo are other forwards who aren't in my starting team are up for grabs. Also my 6 rucks cept big Will.

Just looking for a decent forward. Someone who will start for me.

Well since he has gone with LARS surgery it would appear that he is looking to play AFL again. But it certinaly wouldn't be in 2013 and if the tiniest thing goes wrong with his knee again, he will retire. So yeah, not worth Tanner Smith.

What if all of Freos best 22 gets injured he would have to play. What if Pav goes on strike and says he will only play if Tanner is picked? What if Tanner averages 60 touches a game in the wafl... Plenty of quite reasonable circumstances

BB67th gives Craig Bird

Ric/Ele/Spite gives Jarryn Geary

Reason - we have plenty of backs and I see a lot of promise in young Bird hence why I chased him so hard in Euro's. This trade beefs up BB's backs too so its a mutually beneficial outcome.

BB to confirm.

still looking for a ruckman, nothing elite just a solid back up option or a developing youngster to bolster our stocks. don't offer me a premium and ask for my captain in return  ::)

talking about a rookie / developing ruckman for a like player from another position on my list if anyone interested.

DO NEED an elite midfielder not sure how i can work the deal but i do have half the players drafted in the top 15 this season and last i suppose who could be used to sweeten any deal  8)

Wrong thread, but it appears the only sides who are in contention for the premiership in the upcoming season are:

Badgers 8)
Cruisers
Bombers mybe
Hedgehogs

Looks a good battle between Cruisers and Badgers as rivals.

The best of luck everyone.

Quick questions:

When does trading close?

Has the fixture been made? If so, where can I find it?

Thanks.

trouble is you don't really have any decent forwards or backs people would want in return for an elite mid i mean besides Gibbs/Zorko/Roughead who i'm sure you don't want to trade
Title: Re: BXV - 2nd Trade Period Official Thread
Post by: Colliwobblers on February 03, 2013, 11:43:46 PM
yeah the elite mid was a silly request, i'll just wait a couple of years for one of my rooks to hatch into an elite mid, over the 2010,2011 and 2012 drafts i do have about 15 top 15 draft picked players, 9 of these in the top 10 of those 3 drafts.

I took a long term approach into the draft and now i just have to wait for it to come to fruition...

we scored picks 6,9,13,16 from this 2012 draft alone so I might have to just wait for some breakouts to happen, still not overly unhappy with the squad.

and the ruckman request is valid :)  maybe not the elite mid request i concede you that point  :)

Thanks to the handful of coaches who have not participated or not responded to PM's at all in the trade period :-[ ::)

I have responded to every PM sent to me in British trade period, I just have not liked or more to the point seen ANY benefit to my list in ANY of the trades proposed to me.

I could list all the trades proposed to me but it might embarrass the people who offered them to me :)

for example trading our Gibbs? what on Earth would possess me to do that ? other than complete stupidity?

still if anyone has any reasonable offers as i have done all trade window i will respond and even accept if the trade is remotely beneficial to my team, if it isn't well why would I trade?

my list is mainly youth so it is not easy to formulate trades given my players are unproven and other teams cannot bring themselves to trade good players for my youth future guns.

and rightfully so i am not prepared to trade top 10 draft pick kids for mid priced, middle aged spuds either.

i wasn't having a go at you at all bud, just your comment refers to people who have not traded which is ME :)

i would love to trade but as i tried to explain my guns are off the table, total keepers and the rest of my team is hard to value due to youth and unproven but all extremely high draft picks.

your trade offers have been fine, just did not see benefit in them for my team, and yours were better than most i have received :)

Ok so Didak gains you an extra 10 or so points, but because he doesn't play much it won't count.

Also I didn't do pickers cause he's not around atm, but I see him second or third.

Next at 5th is JB ;) lol hahaah

we have Bird at F2
Riski played the whole year with hamstring tendonitis... He will go 100+ easily. If he gets back to his 90DT days he'll be 130iah here
Yarran had severely interrupted year with vests and injuries

I'll be happy to get Mackie back or Lewis or even Hartlett. Doubt I have much to offer... Since no list movements :(

yeah hard to get a deal done for Lewis as he is M/F so no point getting a mid for him and high chance he will lose DPP and be just a mid anyway by this time next year

Mackie i'd want a good scoring younger defender for

The Werewolves are still in the market for a back up ruckman, a developing kid even or a new draftee.

Not a premium just a backup or youngster to add depth to our ruck stocks.

similar quality of players will be offered from all other positions.

Happy to oblige if majority agree -

Thinking to be beneficial we run for from Sunday 10th March to Thursday Midday 21st March with a 3 movement limit. (Do not think we need to wait till after the NAB cup final as we would have seen enough by then)  Picked Thursday as you have lodge teams on Friday and need time to amend Team lists.

Please comment on suggestion Will also post in discussion thread.

Yep, I'm keen!

Think three movements would be plenty, especially if players traded in via the previous two periods are free transfers.

Love your work btw Ringo :)

You could make the same argument for Kerr then kb.

If he didn't have such good players around him (Cousins, Judd, Cox) he would've been able to pickup more brownlow votes, potentially best and fairest awards and would get a lot more credit for the midfield work.

Bit of a nothing comment really :P
