You do realise its not good to have players like Reid, Westhoff, Schulz because marks dont get you any points in British.
And to let everyone know i havnt done to many list movements!!!!!!! ::) Ive traded 7 guys but 2 are being on traded from first trade period making it only 5 list movements for this trade period, I checked with Spink and have a PM backing this up :)

New recruit Miles was the leading possession getter in his first game of the season Bombers are hoping he has a good season.
Also Crouch another new recruit had the most possessions in a practice game yesterday vs Fremantle.
Bombers are keeping an eye on there talented youngsters .
Some very sad news coming out of the Birmingham Bombers camp regarding Jayden Pitt who may very likely have to give up his AFL career because of heart problems.
Bombers are very sad to here this and would like to wish Jayden all the best for his future.

Season Review
Well wasn't a bad season for the Bombers we were predicted to make the top 4 but ended up finishing 6th I was still happy with this considering how tight the top 8 is in 6th and won 2 less games then 1st and only 3 games separated 1st and 8th we did finish 3rd in total points and managed to make the Prelim we lost Hartlett to suspension and Lewis was a late out with these guys who knows what could have been I think overall considering our team is pretty young we are very happy and confident going forward
Some player reviews Murphy did not play anywhere near his normal standard and the Coach was not very happy we need a reliable Captain option we hope he can overcome this form slump next season, Wells was very up and down but finished up well, Ziebell was ok but would of liked to get more games from him, Cox, Lewis, Westhoff, Hartlett, Mackie, were all very good
Some big bolters for us this year were Crouch who is our future perma Captain, Hansen will be very handy as a defender for us next year, Clarke really stepped up claiming #1 ruck position pushing Cox forward
Hard to name a B&f Winner but would probably be out of Cox, Lewis or Mackie
Looking forward we a continuing our push for youth following last years trade season pushing out the older players for draft picks or youth players like Cox, Wells, Westhoff will be departing the club getting 2 1st round picks in return and a younger ruck to team up with Clarke, Rioli is also leaving us as we felt we needed another Captain option in David Zaharakis another very good young mid we are looking forward to him joining us hopefully next week along with Tom Bellchambers.
Looking at drafting plans we are going to have 3 1st round picks, 2 2nd round picks and 2 3rd round picks, We have done some extensive research on potential Draftees and have a list of preferred players we feel our midfield stocks are pretty good I think we'll target rebounding defenders like the next Vlastuin or some M/F types but there are a couple of mids i'm very keen on if we can get them
I think the future is looking very bright for us and we look forward to it
Trade 1
Birmingham Bombers give - Westhoff + Lycett
Blackpool Bunnies give Bellchambers + 2nd Round Pick 26
Our first trade of the off season has been approved
We would like to thank Westy & Lycett for there services and welcome Tom Bellchambers to the club
Reason for the trade was to get a young ruck so we could trade Cox for a draft pick, yes Westhoff may get R/F but we feel Belly might should get R/F also and is a bit younger Lycett is a promising young ruck to lose but will be fight for his spot for another year or two with Cox and Nic Nat and we feel pick 26 is a decent return for him
2nd trade approved
Huddersfield Hawks give Zaharakis+Pick 47
Birmingham Bombers give Rioli+ B. Reid
Ok this was our 2nd trade for 2013/2014 trade period
We felt we needed another solid Captain option whilst Zaharakis may not be a gun premo he showed signs this year and had an interrupted pre season we feel if he can get a decent pre season in he can be a really be a valuable player and share some of Captaincy pressure with Murphy and Lewis we lose Rioli but feel he is to injury prone and would be surprised if he plays 18+ games next year Zaharakis also has injury concerns but at least it's not a reoccurring type injury like Rioli's hamstrings
3rd trade approved
Winchester Werewolves give Round 1 Pick 18
Birmingham Bombers give Dean Cox
With our 3rd trade we continued with our youth policy we loved having Dean at the club was a great club man but only probably has a year or two left in him we felt it was time to get something for him while we still could and we are pretty happy with pick 18 there are some good young kids we hope we can draft this year
Thanks for your service Dean
4th Trade Approved
Birmingham Bombers Give: Nat Pick #16 + Nat Pick #34 + Nat Pick #70 + Nat Pick #88 + Nat Pick #106
Winchester Werewolves Give: Mitch Clisby + Nat Pick #49 + Nat Pick #54 + Nat Pick #67 + Nat Pick #72
Another trade for the Bombers with Hartlett surely going to lose defense status and Glass being delisted due to age we really needed some defenders Clisby averaged 83 in Sportal in his first year and should be in Melbourne's best 22 now will be a great addition to the team
5th Trade
Bombers give: Daniel Wells
Hurricances give: NAT 13
Reason is just going with our youth policy pretty much
6th Trade
Staines Steins give Matt Suckling
Birmingham give Hamish Hartlett
Reason being Hartlett will lose his defender status and we don't really need him as a mid need a premo defender more so decided to trade him for Suckling
Trade 7
Owls give Gary Rohan
Bombers give Michael Talia
Simple reason although Talia will prob be more fantasy relevant then Rohan we need depth forwards more then defenders pretty simple really
And that pretty much wraps up our trading plans don't even want to do any more trades we have done what we set out to do it might not seem like it but this was all pretty well planned
Wanted to trade Wells and Cox for picks
Wanted to get another premo defender to replace Hartlett
Wanted to get another solid young mid with potential got Zaharakis
Wanted to get a decent young backup ruck for Clarke after trading Cox and got Bellchambers
yes we had to sacrifice our what was a pretty good forward line still feel it's not to bad but we plan to try and draft fantasy relevant forwards and hope they come good we are pretty sure Belly will get R/F also maybe even Murphy will get M/F unlikely though
Proposed Best XV FOR 2014
Def - Mackie, Suckling, Hansen, Atley
Mids - Murphy, Ziebell, Zaharakis, Vince
Rucks - Clarke
Fwds - Lewis, Schulz, Belly, Tarrant/Rohan :-X
Util - Crouch, Caddy/Tyson/Jones
Murphy as a M/F haha yeah and I might get drafted ;)
Quote from: elephants on September 26, 2013, 01:27:26 AM
Murphy as a M/F haha yeah and I might get drafted ;)
Champion Data take bribes mate but keep that a secret
Trade 8
Bombers give Mackie + Vince + NAT 72
Badgers give Andrew Swallow + Rookie 14 + NAT 50
Have to say i'm pretty stoked with this trade it's a win win for both clubs to achieve there goals while Badgers are after a premiership the Bombers we are trying to make there list younger Swallow may not be 100% by round 1 or even play for the first month or 2 but we are happy to be patient with him as long term he replaces Vince who averaged 105 and Swallow averaged 126
not only that we get a 1st round rookie pick and yet another bump of one of our NAT picks which considering how many guys we have to draft was a big goal for our list management now we have 2 1st round NAT Picks, 2 First round Rookie Picks and 7 picks in total in the first 3 Rounds of the NAT Draft
Our plan with our picks is get the best Mid we can with NAT 13 then after that target Forwards that may be fantasy relevant as we feel this is easily our weakest line and hope 1 or 2 of our drafted forwards will be developed into starting forwards
Update on Proposed best XV for 2014 season
Suckling, Hansen, Atley, Clisby
Ziebell, Crouch , Murphy, Swallow
Clarke
Lewis, Belly, Schulz, Rohan/Tarrant
Zaharakis, M Jones/Caddy
Trade 9 Approved
Bombers Give Pick 13
Magic give Aaron Hall
Hall a young forward who played 8 games in his first season then 22 in his 2nd (current season) and averaged 79 for the season and 90 in his last 4 games our List Management have watched his progress and feel he would be a great addition to the team
Plenty of debate about if he is worth pick 13 only time will tell however it's very hard to find a team willing to let go of a promising young forward for a pick and we are very happy with the trade as it in increases our weekly team average by at least 30 because we don't have to play Tarrant or Rohan @F4 unless they improve there averages
It's actually a decent trade if you think about it. I would of preferred pick 18 or so though
Quote from: whatlez on October 19, 2013, 12:47:47 PM
It's actually a decent trade if you think about it. I would of preferred pick 18 or so though
i did think about it that's why i did it lol but yeah it increases our weekly average by about 30 or 40 points feel like he should only get better and GC should be a good team for a few years which will help him
tried to do it for pick 18 but Torp wouldn't budge even tried to get a pick upgrade to ::)
but in the end i was going to target a forward with pick 13 anyway so i'd rather get a guy who looks like he will have a career in the AFL
It's certainly sound strategy. This way JS is guaranteed ;)
Hall could be edged out with guns like Matera returning.
Lots of things "could" happen
Aaron Hall could explode and win next season's brownlow by 30 votes :P
Dawson could win the coleman.
Day could win the golden fist ;D
Quote from: FOOTBALL FACTORY on October 20, 2013, 02:47:03 PM
Day could win the golden fist ;D
This is actually realistic lol
Trade 10
Werewolves give Chris Dawes
Bombers give NAT pick 26
Trade approved
Trade 11
Bombers give NAT Pick 18 + Dom Tyson
Leeches give NAT Pick 5 + NAT Pick 23
Trade approved
2 trades seen the Bombers give up Tyson, Pick 26 and Pick 18 in return received Dawes, Pick 5 and Pick 23
Reasons are fairly simple although we were reluctant to give up Tyson there is somebody we want in this years NAT Draft and will hopefully be there at Pick 5 one of the players on our list wont shutup about him to be honest ::)
Dawes we felt we needed some more forward depth and slightly worried Lewis will lose DPP our midfield is young enough and our defense and Rucks we just wanted some not old forwards hence trading in Hall and Dawes we were going to target forwards in the draft anyway felt this just made more sense
Trade 12
Swindon trade: Jed Lamb and Pick 56
Birmingham trade: Picks 23 and 67
Trade approved
Just after another young forward with this one and was very keen on Lamb after his move from Sydney to GWS which should see him get more game time which would be why he moved
Matt Suckling (knee) Suckling missed the 2013 season after rupturing an ACL during the NAB Cup. The defender began running midway through the season, and is hopeful of completing most of the pre-season.
Chris Dawes (knee) Expected to run just before Christmas after undergoing knee surgery in late October. The positive is that he will have time to recover from niggling calf and hamstring issues.
Tom McDonald (shoulder) Underwent a post-season shoulder reconstruction to guard against future problems. Back running now and will need to avoid contact in the early part of the pre-season.
Andrew Swallow (Achilles) Swallow will be restricted to walking during the Utah trip, as he continues to rehabilitate the Achilles he ruptured in round 18. Coach Brad Scott has forecast the Kangaroos skipper may not be back on the field until the second half of 2014. :'(
was aware of Swallow's injury but thought it was more like round 5 or something he'd be back but oh well was a long term trade
Well the coach is bored as usual thought i'd do a run down of our picks in the NAT draft which is 2 weeks away
The list has been through a massive overhaul this trade period as the coach was trying to trade out the oldies for youth traded who we could and delisted the ones we couldn't some were forced and there were some young players who just couldn't make it to the big time
Currently our senior list has 31 players out of a required 41 :o and rookie list has 2 out of a required 4
NAT Picks are as following
#5
#47
#50
#52
#54
#56
And will have 4 picks in the "Subsidiary picks to bring lists to 41" 2 of which will be used to promote Sutcliffe and Michie two very good young players then i guess we will pick up which ever spuds are left lol :o
after promoting Michie and Sutcliffe we'll have 4 vacant spots on the rookie list
Rookie picks are as following
#14
#16
#34
#52
We are probably going to be targeting a few forwards and defenders with our picks as we feel our midfield is young and strong enough as it is
Admin Ringo is fairly concerned about Birmingham's list as there may not be enough players to fill the required spots :o
Trade 13
Owls give: Tom Mitchell + NAT 25
Bombers give: Andrew Swallow + NAT 47
fairly controversial trade here and for good reason we are giving up a proven premo for a young potential superstar very highly rated but still a pretty big risk but list management are confident it will pay off it's well known now that Swallow may miss half of next season before he returns this could even turn out to be longer as there may be set backs which happens often with LTI's this along with Zaharakis being a bit injury prone and Ziebell being a bit suspension prone we were not really comfortable going into the season knowing this
Not only that whilst Swallow is not old at all we feel Mitchell is better for us long term with our other young gun mids
Some may question why Swallow was traded in to the team in the first place twice in one year i think btw lol but he was still better for us long term then Mackie and Vince and he had better currency on the trade table and we feel Mitchell is even better long term for us we highly rate him and thing he'll be as good as Dane Swan :-X
in the end we turned
Mackie + Vince + NAT 72 + NAT 47
into
Tom Mitchell + Rookie 14 + NAT 25 + NAT 50
I think we did well considering Vince has bugger all value
Wow does Vince have bugger all?
4 year contract at the Demons. Should score well.
Quote from: whatlez on November 14, 2013, 01:26:44 PM
Wow does Vince have bugger all?

that's completely unknown at this stage more chance of him staying the same then improving why you think he will improve so much is beyond me is a very average player
Draft and Rookie picks have changed a bit we now have
NAT 7
NAT 25
NAT 50
NAT 52
NAT 54
NAT 56
And will have 4 picks in the "Subsidiary picks to bring lists to 41" 2 of which will be used to promote Sutcliffe and Michie
And in the rookie draft we need to draft 4 players with
Rookie 7
Rookie 14
Rookie 16
Rookie 52

KB, good recruiting. Dayze really knows his stuff as shown on the SC boards.
Welcome mate!
Birmingham Bombers has completed it's activities in the 2013 BXV NAT Draft and would like to welcome the following players to the club
Dominic Sheed
Sheed is a classy midfielder from WA who took the 2013 Under 18 Championships by storm, averaging 27.7 disposals and 103.7 DT from his four games and was named the Larke medallist as the best Division 1 player along with receiving All Australian honours. He finished with the equal fourth most clearances for the carnival. Sadly he also broke his collarbone which has put a dent in his preparations for 2014 but Sheed is still considered by most as a first round or possibly even Top 10 draft selection. While Dom's leg speed has been identified as a weakness, his endurance certainly isn't and he's shown the ability to cover 13km in games with ease. While the draft pool is filled with midfield prospects, there aren't many who possess his combination of clearances, contested possessions, workrate and flexibility. Sheed had a taste of seniors action in the WAFL during 2012 and again this year. He played four games prior to his injury with scores of 56, 65, 44 and 50.
Riley Knight
Knight is an inside mid/half forward who at this point hasn't received the attention he deserves despite having better skills than some of the more fancied prospects. A knee injury ended his season early and he will have limited involvement in the draft combine, but Riley was able to play all five games in the Under 18 Championships where he found himself in the less familiar half forward role. He averaged 16.6 disposals, 5.2 marks and 3.4 tackles with a DT average of 70.2. His 2013 performances in the SANFL Under 18 competition were epic to say the least, averaging 35.1 touches, 9 marks and 5.1 tackles for DT scores of 121, 139, 139, 137, 159 and 170. Yes, that's right - his lowest DT score of the year was 121!
Mitchell Harvey
The big redheaded forward/ruck had an interrupted start to 2012 when he was forced to take three months off after a basketball accident which could have cost him his life. This year Harvey used his size to good advantage, kicking 24 goals in 7 Under-18 games and having an influence in the ruck. His mobility stood out in some excellent performances during the Champs, averaging 11.6 disposals, 4.4 marks, 5.5 hitouts and 2 goals a game for a DT average of 66. While most potential draftees are busy trying to put on weight, Harvey went the opposite way - dropping six kilos during the year. He'll need to turn some of that weight into muscle if he's to have an impact on the AFL as a forward and pinch hitting ruckman.
Orazio Fantasia
Small forward/midfielder with good speed, agility, endurance and goal sense. Lightly framed player but is courageous and reads the fall of the ball exceptionally well. Was a consistent performer for SA in the NAB AFL Under 18 Championships.
Aliir Aliir
Born in Kenya of Sudanese heritage, Aliir is a tall defender who has developed into a rebounding defender. Can also go forward and kick goals. Strong overhead with good natural leap. Moved from Queensland to WA this year and has represented both states in the AFL Under-18 Championships in the past two years.
Darcy Byrne-Jones
Courageous medium defender who possesses an elite speed/endurance combination. Competitive player who attacks the ball and the opposition relentlessly.
Good to be here.
Picked up some very nice players in that draft :)
Birmingham has finished it's activity in the rookie draft and now have a full list of 45 players we would like to welcome our newest recruits and trust they will enjoy there stay as we build our #dynasty
Lloyd Perris
Fraser Thurlow
Cameron Wood
Kayne Turner
Martin Gleeson

Flower that's strong, a fair bit stronger than the Owls if I'm being honest.
Tis pretty impressive isn't it?
If Zaha, Ziebell and Titch live up to their NAB hype (unlikely I know!) 'twould be excellent!
we also have pretty good depth ;D
Mm, but your forward line is kind of weak.
Gotta give you guys a chance somehow ;)

Birmingham's back up ruck men and key forward Tom Bellchambers is edging closer to playing his first game for the club after returning from injury he played half a game in the Reserves as planned today and looked extremely good we're hoping he will make his club debut next week
His return cant come quick enough with our forward line being decimated by injuries Tom Mitchell (Ankle) hopefully back next week, Josh Caddy (Broken Foot) out for 8 weeks and Gary Rohan omitted for his poor form of late
Breaking News
Birmingham Captain Tom Rockliff has become only the second player in the history of the game to be given "PIG" status

we don't plan to be overly active in trading unlike last year but we do want to recruit a forward or two

Drafting news
National Draft has finished Dragons only had 3 pretty late picks but are fairly happy with our selections
Pick 40 - Matthew Goodyear
(http://i61.tinypic.com/m939t3.jpg)
Name: Matthew Goodyear
Recruited From: Calder U18
Age: 18
Height: 185cm
Weight: 77kg
Position: Midfielder
Profile: Extremely athletic medium midfielder with elite speed and endurance. Prolific ball winner at the Cannons and had a taste of the NAB AFL Under-18 Championships playing in three matches, averaging 13 disposals in limited game time. His drive and rebound from half-back as well as through the midfield often breaks the game open.
Pick 42 - Nathan Drummond
(http://i60.tinypic.com/15clzk8.jpg)
181cm, 85kg, 19/1/95
After being overlooked last year, Drummond has gone back to the TAC cup and banged the door down. Despite being a year or two older than his fellow players in the crop, hes shown ability that cant just be explained by being older. Hes a true athlete with his speed and leap exceptional and a big body to go with it. Hes a dynamic and energetic player, with his inside game sound and his outside game solid. His kicking isnt exceptional but it suffices. He absolutely destroyed the combine.
Pick 58 - Jaden McGrath
(http://i60.tinypic.com/6gjwj6.jpg)
179 cm, 73 kg, 15/6/96
A really creative midfielder who can play off a forward flank, McGrath is likely to slide due to his terribly injury effected year. He possesses that really nice speed and endurance combination that allows him to have an impact on the outside and cover the ground well. Despite his rangy frame and small stature, his inside game is still reasonable with a natural read for the tap and fearless mentatility allowing him to win his own ball. With ball in hand hes a composed and creative type. In the right system he really could be a component of a successful 22.
Drafting News
Birmingham Dragons have completed it's drafting for the year after finishing off our picks in the rookie draft overall we're very happy with all of our new draftees

Date of birth 2 November 1994 (age 20)
Original team Port Adelaide (SANFL)
Draft #27, 2013 National Draft (Gold Coast)
Height/Weight 182 cm (6 ft 0 in) / 66kg
The small defender loves to attack and take the game on from half-back, We liked the potential we seen in him.
Pick 23 - Aaron Vandenberg
(http://i57.tinypic.com/168vpqo.jpg)
The 22-year-old averaged 32 possessions for the Canberra club in the NEAFL, including a 56-touch performance against Eastlake, and won back-to-back best and fairests for the club.
Pick 39 - Conor McKenna
(http://i57.tinypic.com/n5ocy8.png)
The 18-year-old was a star Gaelic football player from the county of Tyrone, Northern Ireland and was identified for his talents last year. In his first AFL game in a combined Irish/Australian squad, the quick and agile 184cm midfielder kicked four goals and was almost best afield.
