Hahahah legendary name! I'm putting my name forward for head of the Alcoholics fan club ;D
Ele you are the name of my team :(

I'll comment in saying, I thought it was compulsory to be an animal of some sort ???
Also ele you are the name of my team :(. Lol
There are plenty of teams that dont have an animal as their team name. Sri Lanka Strikers, Russian Roulettes, Mexico City Suns etc. etc.
My comment is why Australia when there are plenty of other countries to choose from? The idea of these competitions was that the AFL had disbanded and moved overseas.
Not sure if he knew that C4... I didn't... lol.
But yeah Colli did send out a PM a while back to suggest everyone being an animal. So I thought that went through.
yeah, the australian football LEAGUE got disbanded. You can't tell me that australia wouldn't makes its own team?
I support this name :P
Quote from: tbagrocks on August 23, 2012, 06:06:34 PM
I will delete this post, but Australia aren't actually a part of asia :P
australia is in the asian region.
Colli has requested me not to use the term 'alcoholic' so we will be having a name change shortly but will still be alcohol related so watch this space ;)

Hong Kong Dong's too..... :P
I'm with c4 on this one. Shouldn't be any Australia. anywhere.
I would make a new thread too.
I completely disagree with that sentiment. There has to be an australia somewhere, it doesn't make logical sense that there wouldn't be.
Yeah fair point c4v3m4n the AFL has disbanded but Australia would have a team, so I support that.
And while, with beer in hand, I see the humor and relevance of the current name, I must aim to maintain standards and ensure no offence can be caused to any FF members.

distillers ? similar to brewers
Thinking maybe just beers or ales

I'm keen to see the team logo and guernsey, nothing is as attractive to me as a frothy. (thats a frothy beer, preferably on tap in one of those German glasses with the handle)
being Aussie it might have to be a schooner.

If you do want me to just let me know your ideas/ what you want on the logo and or guernsey, colors design sponsors ect. ect. ect. ect.....
Rumours around the aussie camp, steele may never wear the aussie guersney

After the rookie draft with much thanks to KB for his input and knowledge.
The Ales welcome:

Actually, your forwards look pretty showerhouse to me! :P
Dont be jealous that you dont have breussssssssssttt!!!
What is he worth - in your most humble opinion?
I like I like.
Your defence could do with some bolstering.
Did you actually draft that squad?
I would actually umm and arrr about a straight swap with GAJ, thats how much i rate him.
A few Australian Ales too many huh?
Ablett IS my team!
Yeah these Hawks blokes rate Shiels and Bruest so highly that its good if you have one but not if you want one ;) Whats wrong with Edwards and Waite though?? i have them in EXV so I'll talk'em up till you come home from Taiwan Doc haha. Dont tell your mum you smoke now when you return though, she'll be so dissapointed :D
I have Shiels :P
I have Savage! :P
I too have Edwards. Hic.
I had Suckling.... does that count :-\ hahah
C - li = u - nton Young gone = less green for Savage = more points for Taiwan.
Young wanted more green, Savage now gets no green :)
You funny man JB. Me like you. ;D
Hawks to defeat Eagles in GF this year. ;)
Rather play Collingwood or Carlton, Eagles spread is dangerous against us.

Nah you dont scare us, we just had a bad game. Only Eagles and Swans can match us at our best.
Got Lake now to help Gibson, Birchall, Suckling, Stratton and Guerra and Hodge and Showermakers AND Murphy gone so no dramas there anymore.
Eagles are a worry though.
Good season to come with Swans, Pies, Crows and maybe Blues to get close as well.
Hope Geelong flower off and can't see Freo, Kangas, Bombers, Tigers or Saints really improving enough.
Now or never hey!

Mid Season Review
After 10 games the Ales havent yet hit their straps. Whilst consistent (lowest score of 1711) the Ales have failed to pull the scores out when needed and are currently sitting a dismal 10th with 4 wins and 6 losses. After hitting rock bottom by losing to the crabs the Ales hope that the 2nd half of the season will be more fruitful and a finals push could be on the cards. Consistency could be an asset if they make the 8.
Round 1: Ales came against early premiership favourite Manilla at home and almost pulled off a great win but like most of the season, just fell too short.
Best: 5: D Pearce 4: G Birchall 3: S Mumford 2: A Monfries 1: B Guerra
Round 2: Rd 2 sees the Ales travel to Laos to take down the Elephants which they do narrowly winning 1773 to 1687
Best: 5: G Birchall 4: J Blair 3: L Breust 2: A Monfries 1: D Pearce
Round 3: Ales go huge setting the record at the time score of 2080 as they took down the lowly Vipers
Best: 5: L Hodge 4: G Birchall 3: C Masten 2: L Sheuy 1: JP Kennedy
Round 4: Ales couldnt back up their 2000 score going down to the impressive Lambs 2007 to 1760
Best: 5:G Birchall 4: L Breust 3: L Sheuy 2: C Masten 1: N Jones
Round 5: Ales get back on the winners board with a convincing victory over the Gazelles, winning 1812 to 1529.
Best: 5: L Sheuy 4: S Mayes 3: C Masten 2: JP Kennedy 1: M Jaensch
Round 6 Just getting the job done against the mediocre Eskimoes. 1847 to 1656.
Best: 5: C Masten 4: L Sheuy 3: L Hodge 2: L Breust 1: J Waite
Round 7 Rock bottom losing to the Crabs 1796 to 1719.
Best: 5: JP Kennedy 4: L Hodge 3: J Blair 2: L Breust 1: T Mckenzie
Round 8 And the rot continues losing a tight close one against the Striker 1853 to 1835. Pretty much an 8 point game.
Best: 5: JP Kennedy 4: D Pearce 3: L Sheuy 2: C Masten 1: D Wells
Round 9 And the tigers kick us out of the 8 in another heartbreaker, 1842 to 1790
Best: 5: C Masten 4: J Waite 3: J Gunston 2: D Pearce 1: L Sheuy
Round 10 Playing well and losing again, top of the table Dolphins just too strong, bloody Ablett. 2108 to 1890
Best: 5: L Breust 4: L Sheuy 3: JP Kennedy 2: C Masten 1: S Mumford

Shuey and Masten both only got 8 votes in the second half of the season. I personally thought Masten wold have won easy. Was also surprised Pearce came so close.
