Background Information:
A history lesson of our wonderful country:
Here is background information about Laos â€" a not-very well known landlocked county. Bordered by Thailand, Cambodia, Viet Nam and China, Laos remains largely untouched by the rampages of modern tourism. For information on Lao Geography view the Where is Laos? page.
The country with an area of 236,800 sq km, is divided into 19 provinces.
The Lao population is 6.8 million people (estimated early 2009) with a population density of 27 people per sq km. Around 80% of the population live in rural and mountainous areas relying on subsistence rice farming.
Lightly populated, Laos offers visitors a breathtaking array of stunning scenery, history, culture, great food and adventure, coupled with the opportunity to see how its diverse peoples live.
This small country is still home to some 49 ethnic groups whose lifestyles have remained relatively unchanged for centuries.
The abundance of mountains, forests and rivers make this small land green and special. From the Northern provinces where Laos meets with China, Myanmar and Thailand, the Mighty Mekong river flows throughout the entire country, fed by many pristine tributaries and finally crashing over the vast 14 km wide cataract forming the Khone Falls in the southern province of Champassak.
The lack of foreign influence offers travellers an unparalleled glimpse of traditional South-East Asian life. From the fertile lowlands of the Mekong River valley to the rugged Annamite highlands, travellers who have made it to Laos tend to agree that this country is the highlight of South-East Asia.
Laos is said to be the most laid-back of all the countries in Southeast Asia. It had been isolated from the outside world for almost two decades before it opened its doors allowing visitors to enter the country in early 1990s. Now the information about Laos is out, many travellers around the world discovered unknown little land one way or another.
Today Laos is enjoying peace and a stable political and economic structure. It is a safe place to travel and live. For the last decade the country has seen a steady increase in the number of tourists and many significant advances have taken place. Though its traditional ways are still well preserved, it is changing quite fast.
Visitors soon learn that the most enjoyable way to travel in Laos is to observe local customs and rules, use their common sense, observe others, and just go with the flow. Take a look at Laos facts, and you will do just fine.
This is our Elephants with their different talents :P

Club Announcements:
Below will be every club annoucement about the Elephants. There will be weekly, but no doubt monthly updated throughout the off-season period. And many updates throughout the trading season, that has officially started.
Announcement Number One:
Date: 3/10/12
In a turn of events, the Elephants have made their first trade of the history of the Elephants. In order to increase draft picks into the top 10, we were forced to trade out picks 17 and 33 in the National Draft, which allowed us to receive picks 6 in National Draft and Pick 23 in the Rookie Draft. This trade was very fair and gave both coaches what they wanted. Both whatlez and Holz were very happy with this trade, because we both firmly believe pick 6 of the National Draft will recruit us a fantasy and AFL Superstar that comes from the dubbed "super draft".
So the trade was;
National Picks 17 + 33
For
National Pick 6 + Rookie Pick 23
More to come from the Elephants camp.
Announcement Number Two:
Date: 7/10/12
Today is the official accouncement of the leadership group at the Elephants. With the Elephants very unlikely to be trading any of there good players out, we will get in nice and early in naming our leadership group and more important our inaugurial captain. So after a few couple of week of discussing who we should lead Elephants to success in the up coming seasons, we made the decision that our number one pick of the Draft Jack Redden as our Captain:
We see Jack as a long term player at the club and hopes and most likely will be a one club player in the Asian Competition. He knows that living in Laos isn't that ideal, but Jack is has given me his word that any other club negotiation will never happen and will remain at the Elephants for the next 10 years or so. He our top midfielder and top point scorer, so getting his signature is important and a little bonus has just been to sent to Jack's house.
When hearing the news Jack was very happen, he stated 'I am honoured to be the captain of the greatest club in the Asian Competition. Obviously premierships are on the horizon so once we get a good pre-season together, expect great success', he goes on to add, 'I hope I can us to a premiership next year and will help push the rest of the squad to the their pinnacle.
We are also here to annoucement the rest of the leadership group and the mentors of the club.
Vice Captain: Michael Barlow
Unber 20's Captain: Dylan Shiel
Most Valuable player: Todd Goldstein
The Mullett: Taylor Walker
Also the mentors of the club in each of the positions are:
Backline Mentor: Alex Rance
Midfield Mentor: Travis Boak
Ruck Mentor: Todd Goldstein
Forwards Mentor: Taylor Walker
So that is our leadership. A big annoucement for the day and we hope you all tune in and await for the next few annoucements.
Announcement Number Three:
Date: 28/11/12
The Elephants have had a successful drafting period. We had 3 selections in the National Draft and used these picks for the greatest talent in the land.
Our first pick was Lachie Whitfield, who is was the number one pick of the competition. He has great talent and will almost be a starter at the Elephants in his first AFL season.
Our second pick was for Oliver Wines. Wines is highly rated junior who could of gone higher than pick 7 in the National Draft. He is a ball winning jet and will with Whitfield join our midfield.
Our last pick for this year's draft was Tanner Smith. He was taken 36th overall and is highly rated. He will probide good cover in our defence stocks.
Overall, I believe the National Draft for the Elephants was very successful was we got 2 of the top 5, best young guns in the competition. This will strengthen our stocks in all areas.
So Elephants fans, please Welcome:
Lachie Whitfield Oliver Wines Tanner Smith

Announcement Number Four:
Date: 27/11/12
On a side note, Sam Dunnel has been promoted off the rookie list and has been given a perminate spot at his respected club. This will be valuable as he will be able to push for selection at the Elephants in all positions for the swing man. As you can see from the post below. He is very happy with the decision.
Announcement Number Five:
Date: 3/12/12
The Elephants have just signed 4 promising youngsters for the 2014 season. 3 of who will be most likely starters for the young and great club.
Alexanda Fasolo, Chris Mayne, Scott Selwood and Craig Moller all join the Elephants. We believe we got the best out of both trades and sad to let some of our stars go in order to recruit this great talent. I believe that this new talent will only make the squad stronger and will only help us with our quest to win the premiership. We believe the starting forward was a little weak, in order we had to recruit two consistant injury free forwards and Fasolo and Mayne fit the bill. As a result we were able to sell one of our better forwards, for one of the most promising midfielder in the competition. We also gain what Holz believe the best young ruck in the land.
(http://resources1.news.com.au/images/2011/06/13/1226074/344029-alex-fasolo.jpg) (http://mm.afl.com.au/Portals/0/fremantle_images/2009_Promotion_Pics/MayneHL210912B.jpg) (http://mm.afl.com.au/Portals/0/fremantle_images/2009%20Story%20Pics/moller_246x316b.jpg) (http://mm.afl.com.au/Portals/0/2_03GGWC12MW%201417%20copy.jpg)
As you can see, all players are estastic with their news clubs.
Announcement Number Six:
Date: 24/1/13
The Elephants has on-traded fairly new recruit Chris Mayne. We believe we were in desperate need for another defender and were successful in signing gun youngster Daniel Nicholson
(http://supacoach.com/player_images/NICHOLSON_DANIEL_246%5B1%5D.jpg)
He is estatic in his signing at a club that will be winning many premierships in the nearby years.

+1
And vote for thread of the year!!
Poorest use of space I've ever seen in a thread. :o ;)
Vote for thread of the year.
I nominated myself!! :)

On a side note, Sam Dunnel has been promoted off the rookie list and has been given a perminate spot at his respected club. This will be valuable as he will be able to push for selection at the Elephants in all positions for the swing man.
I officially announce that my threads open for business :)
Please tell me your thought :)
Why does everyone hate me?!?!? :'(

Because you stole my players :P
Great looking thread mate!
Team list is updated.
In comes Daniel Nicholson.
Out goes Chris Mayne.
This was a good trade as I needed a good D4. However, I am one short in the forward line...
Get yoself a playing strip so I can put it on my thread ;)
I'm not your rival ??? Holz said he was going to make something a while back... -_-
I know but you're the most hated opponent/team we most love to beat :P
Lol :( I think I have the same on my page haha
Don't take offense haha we just love to beat you cos your team is so youthful and talented and dangerous ;)
Lol yeah I think it's something you and pickers started because it was on his original thread when I took over :D
Yeah and British rivals haha. Can you stop quoting me, because there is no one else commenting in the thread at the moment lol and it looks sloppy
Looking to trade some of my gun backs if people are keen :)

Doesn't matter, Toga whipped something up :)
Team is finished. Happy with the list.
Unfortunately Brodie Smith is out for 8 weeks :'( :'(
The axe is out.
First to be sacked from the club is Richoet. Then my former friend, Elephants. Both have been sacked from the Elephants.
This follows Fark getting the chop only a few months back. More sacking to come.
Hahahaha, I distinctly remember handing in a resignation to join Rics team but yeah, alright ;)
Nah if you are sacked then it shows that I am fearless lol
Hahahah alright
Man this team sucks, two players and that is it!
The question is, why is the coach in denial? ???

Nahhh but this is bad. You guys will work a lot harder than Maca/Sid was to win in the future...

Quick and breaking news.
Elephants flog the Llamas by a massive 393 points.
Score:
Elephants - 1,923
Llamas (home) - 1,530
Best performed: Boak, Wines, Selwood, Goldstein, Redden.
Injury Update: Fasolo played in the seconds this week and looked fantastic. He will replace big man Johnathon Patton who has gone down with an ACL injury and his season is over :(
Whatlez is back and the Elephants are 11th with 3 wins, 4 losses. Good start with einable games coming up :o
Forwardline is undermanned, but whatlez is still confident they can score well and win against one of their hated teams, the Lambs ;)
Is our matchup this weekend, Lez? :o
Prepare for a thumping! >:D
Probably the easiest match of the year ;)
Backline selection dramas with Rance sitting out and scoring 130+. It will pretty much determine whether the Elephants get up or not... Picking the right players.
Haha idk mate... You may have missed it but we scored 2170 last week. ;)
Think we should get over the line, but that might just be me. :P

the assistant coach would never put rance on the bench. He will kill the deemons this week a must in

When you cannot come online through PC I have to quickly message my teams to people and sometimes I make mistakes... :(
Another flowering forward injury.
Fasolo out for the season most likely with some foot injury. This adds to the forward line carnage of Walker, Patton out for season and Watts out indefinitely. With players like Petrenko out as well only leavrs 4-5 players available for selection.
Looking at the Tiger's team and he doesn't have like one rd 13 player in his starting side. :(
Get around the Strikers.

Forward line coming up... I'll be lucky to name 2 lol :'(
Back to the first page 8)
Jordan Lewis and Aaron Hall joins the Elephants 8)
We say goodbye to Scott Gumbleton, Sam Coloquon and Alex 'The Man' Rance :(
Good inclusions there.
One thing I found strange though - Scott Selwood 142, Barlow 135, Boak 132 and Redden with a 125 average, yet he is listed as captain in your squad. :P
2013 Averages:
Hansen (95), Smith (89), Geary (93), Ibbotson (121)
Redden (126), Barlow (136x1.5=204), Boak (132), Selwood (142x2=284)
Goldstein (107)
Walker (89), Watts (92), Crameri (92), Lewis (121)
Wines (96), Shiel (94)
Total = 1,835
Underlined is new players
Should boost up with Walker especially improving a lot. Wines/Shiel/Whitfield should improve a little. Geary/Smith/Hansen should average slightly higher. Watts/Crameri will improve. The rest should stay the same. 8)
Not bad Lez, I might do ours
Yeah good idea Lez, will look at doing one for the Lambs now.
But yeah the team is looking decent with Ibbo & Lewis coming in... Tex's average will be much higher I would imagine this season.
Weller signs up 8)
