The Turkish Gazelle would like to announce that the official home ground for the 2013 season would be the 70,000 seater "Türk Telekom Arena" Many would recognise this stadium as the home ground of the famous Turkish soccer team Galatasaray, The President of Galatasaray Ünal Aysal is proud to welcome the new football club. Unal said it would be tough for the groundsman to keep up the soccer/afl stadium but has promised to cut down on home matches if it means the Gazelles can excel in the Asian competition. The Turkish Gazelle has a contract with the Türk Telekom Arena for 2 seasons

Breaking News!

The AXV draft kicked of earlier today and all eyes were on the Turkish Gazelles who had pick 8, Many rumours and speculation was put forth over who the Gazelles would take after discussing it with the board and sifting through hundreds of names we finally came to a decision and drafted Jobe Watson.

Jobe graduated from Xaiver College and played football for the Sandringham Dragons in the 2001 TAC Cup, After spending just under 10 years on the Essendon primary list he has now relocated to Turkey at the ripe old age of 27 and will be welcome down at the Gazelles. Jobe has been granted captaincy duties throughout the 2013 AXV season, Though we believe our team will consist of many leaders and many weekly captain choices we hope our number 1 draft pick can fill the void most weeks. Jobe had a few words to say after joining the Gazelles.

Jobe Watson: Being here at the Gazelles is great the coaching staff is brilliant and our stadium is one of the best in the world, I hope i can prove myself to not only the fans but to our coach Noz who believed in me, After have a good 2012 season hopefully i can carry that over to the 2013 season and provide a pivotal role in my clubs success. Individual honours is not what I'm after but being named the first ever captain of the Gazelles is something special.

The team gets stronger

First Jobe Watson now Matthew Boyd, Boyd joins the Gazelles with pick 25 in the 2nd round with Boyd's massive season averaging an impressive 147 points many people thought he would go in the first round. The Gazelles coaching panel are thrilled for him to have sneaked up to them the board have releassed a statement regarding their latest pick.

Board: We are thrilled to have Matthew Boyd joining our ranks hopefully he can have a massive season and continue to pump them big numbers out week in week out.

More draft news to follow

Over night the Gazelles grew a Mullet

Big Ivan Maric becomes our third selection and qualifies for our number 1 ruck position. Hopefully Ivan can keep his flawless Mullet and terrifying death stares for many years to come.

I will have $10 billion on Watson to win.

Also my question for the press conference later is:
Obviously the club is tilting towards being strong premiership contenders next year. What is your long term plan after that and do you believe that you can continue to be a successful club afterwards with guns like Watson, Boyd, Sewell, Ball and Chapman all in their very senior years?

Turkish Gazelle Press Conference

Live from outside the Türk Telekom Arena thousands of reporters from around the globe have come to see the first ever press conference of the AXV newest franchise team the Turkish Gazelle head coach Noz has been introduced by our clubs CEO and will be joined by the Gazelles number 1 draft pick along with our inaugural captain Jobe Watson and running defender Heath Shaw.

Noz: Before we start this conference i would like to express my graduate to everyone who managed to make the journey behind us is the Türk Telekom Arena one of the grandest arenas in the world and we are glad to call it our home for the 2013 season and hopefully many after. Now i will answer some questions.

Reporter 1: Do you think your best chance at a flag will be in 2013 with the likes of Watson, Boyd, Chapman as the stars, or will your best chance be in a few years time when Duncan, Cunnington, Prestia, Mitchell are in their prime.

Noz: We will be aiming for premiership glory hopefully within the next couple of years we believe a strong mixture of experience and youngsters is the right recipe for success. We would like to exploit the last couple of season our elder players have left and aim for premiership glory. Only 3 players are over the age of 30 in Boyd, Chapman and Sam Fisher, Our aim of the draft was when those blokes retire our youngsters are willing to step up and we don't have to drop out of premiership glory and rebuild from the bottom. We will be looking towards our youngsters many times this season to ease the pressure of our older blokes though.

Reporter 2 How do you expect to compete with the young Llamas with so many grandpas in your team?

Noz: Oh a Llama fan maybe i should of put more security on the door. In answer to your question our average player age is only 24 though we do have some older blokes in our team our drafting team has been able to balance that with several of the best young talent in our game. We won't have a problem now security please escort this Llama fan out of here.

Reporter 2: But you can't do that

Noz: Adios, Any more Llama fans please leave

*Silence is heard as no one steps up the Llamas don't seem to have many supporters at all*

Noz: Excellent next question guys

Reporter 3: Who are the Gazelles looking to offload during the trade period?

Noz: We have a fairly balanced team and right now we don't seem to be lacking in any position but of course if the right price comes along we will be willing to part ways with our players but all our players do seem happy at the club. Dion Prestia and Daniel Kerr have been told they will be used as back up players and won't crack into the side unless injury happens they may look to test other clubs for a more starting position.

Reporter 4: With Boyd, Mullet, Watto, Ball, Shaw and Chappy in the starting 15, would anything less than a GF birth be disappointing

Noz: Oh no doubt our players are the cream of the crop and we will consider the 2012 season a complete disappointment if we don't make the grand final, Injures will happen of course but we believe our depth is strong enough to cope and hopefully we will play no players out of position. Some of our older blokes will be rested at times but their replacements know they role and I'm confident they won't let us down.

Reporter 5: Can you describe how a Gazelle is intimidating

Heath Shaw: I will answer this one The Goitered Gazelle is the Gazelle that is local in Turkey can cover up to 30km a day during winter so fitness is not our problem we also have enlargement of the neck and throat during the mating season to attract female Gazelles. Many males throughout many species consider this as a threat and are intimidated due to our successful mating rituals. Many Gazelles also have superhuman strength and can shoot fire from their hands.

Reporter 5: Haha funny joke Shaw but seriously

Heath Shaw I am serious

*Shaw then tries to shoot fire from his hands and fails he is helped to the back by the Turkish Gazelle staff*

Jobe Watson: Poor guy can't catch a break i will be answering the next question

Reporter 6: Jobe with the early best and fairest odds being released you are tied favourite with Matthew Boyd to win after a impressive season do you believe you can take the triple threat out Best and Fairest, AXV Brownlow Medal and a Premiership

Jobe Watson: Individual honours are not what I'm after i will just be looking forward to running out there with 14 other blokes looking for a kick or 2 at the end of the year if I'm rewarding with a medal or two I'm not going to complain but individual records are not what were about.

Noz: I think we have time for a few more questions

*The reporter that got kicked out earlier on managed to sneak back in and jump up to the podium to ask the last question*

Reporter 2 Why are Port Adelaide so bad?

Noz: You again i need to hire better security. Port are focusing on the youth and will look to get games into many of our young stars with lack of experience players it will take time but we will bounce back up in the next year or two. Now get this man out of here

Reporter 7 Once again Hamish Hartlett does not get selected. Noz's love child just does not seem to get into his team. Why is this?

Noz: We rate Hamish Hartlett extremely highly and have been unlucky in getting him we will be pushing hard towards getting him in the trade period as he will be one of our stars as we chase towards the 2013 premiership. Hamish if your listening please come to us we need you....i need you.

Reporter 8: Obviously the club is tilting towards being strong premiership contenders next year. What is your long term plan after that and do you believe that you can continue to be a successful club afterwards with guns like Watson, Boyd, Sewell, Ball and Chapman all in their very senior years?

Noz: Our long term plan is to become one of the power house of the Asian competion for many years to come and even have a crack at winning a few Champion League championships. We have drafted so we don't need to rebuild in a few years after our stars have retired when guys like Watson, Sewell and Boyd retire Duncan, Cunnington, Mitchell, Prestia will all be reaching there prime and look to be multiple premiership players by the time they retire.

Noz: I would like to express my deepest condolences to John McCarthy who sadly passed away last week, John was a highly rated AFL player at the age of 22 he had the world at his feet, We would like to offer our prayers to Johns immediate family and close friends. Rest in Peace John you will be missed.

Reporters begin filling out of the arena as one sneaks backstage to see Heath Shaw is still trying to shoot fire from his hands, The reporter takes a few pictures before living with a smiling on his face.

Current Captain Jobe Watson is currently under investigated after being accused in the global media after being in the front line of a drug scandal at his former club "Essendon" Jobe was quick to defend his former club having this to say about this scandal after leaving the Gazelles recovery session
