aside from messi...
who do you think is the best striker in the world?
IMO its Klaas Jan Huntelaar
Hard to choose but Aguero,Suarez,Rooney,RVP,Ronaldo,KJH,,Benzema,Higuan,Villa,Ronaldo and Ibrahimovic are all up there. If I had to pick one of my long long list it would be Aguero. Sorry about the massive list.
i say huntelaar because of his consistency over a number of years playing for Schalke who are a big club but without the financial power of the other European League clubs who are in mountains of debt
and his performances have carried the team at times this year which isnt bad considering Schalke also have Raul
well watching arsneal everton :(
and after that goal by RVP it remimded me of this thread and he easily has to b up there
he has 33 epl goals in 2011 and he aint done yet!!
he has more than Henry ever had at this time of the season

no they just said henry got 34 in a yr so he is still 1 of..the way everton hav been goin he may get it in the last 15 mins :(
yeah but IMO from the quality of teams and strike rate i think Klaas Jan Huntelaar is the best striker in the world as the team he is in has no where near as much money as any of the other clubs on this list
Im sure Schalke's entire budget is probably not as big as a lot of the transfers asked for the other players listed below
Aguero (Man City)
Suarez (Liverpool)
Rooney (Manchester United)
Robin Van Persie (Arsenal),
Ronaldo (Real Madrid),
Klaas Jan Huntelaar (Schalke),
Benzema (Real Madrid),
Higuain (Man City),
Villa (Barcelona),
Ronaldo (Real Madrid) and
Ibrahimovic (AC Milan)
RVP basically scores all there goals and as im writing this he comes close to goal 34 but just misses
Messi -> Ronaldo -> Van Persie -> Aguero -> Suarez (atm) -> Villa -> Ibra

yea thats seems bout right Q :)
Ronaldo > Messi> Rooney > Balotelli > Van Persie > Aguero > Forlan > Ibrahimovic > Benzema > Chicharito > Higuain
There is not a snowballs chance in hell that Huntelaar is the best striker in the world. Sure he is terrific goal scorer thanks to his poaching ability (a bit like the great Ruud van Nistelrooy, but not as good), but he isn't a complete player like some of the other great strikers going around. If you look at his history he was great at Ajax (but then again any above average player is great these days in the Dutch league), performed pretty well at Madrid, and then basically flopped at Milan (7 goals in 30 appearances is not good for a striker).
I must question you Cic when you say he has performed consistently for Schalke over a number of years since he has only been there a season and a half and the first season he didn't even play all that well! This season yes he is scoring goals (25 in 24 games), but a lot of them have come against very weak opposition. He scored 4 against a team from Finland, 4 against an extremely low league German team in their cup competition, plus a hattrick against Koln and a brace against Hamburger, both of whom are in the bottom half of the German league at the moment. Ignore just those 4 games and he is down to 12 goals in 20 games, which is what you would expect from a quality striker.
Ignoring Messi and Ronaldo (who are clearly the best in the world, let alone best forwards), off the top of my head I would say that all these players are more complete strikers than The Hunter (in no particular order)...
• David Villa
• Wayne Rooney
• Robin van Persie
• Gonzalo Higuain
• Sergio Aguero
• Mario Gomez
• Antonio Di Natale
• Radamel Falcao
I could go on, but don't think I really need to ;)

OMG i love Di Natale :-*
I know he's kinda more like a winger but there is a great striker who used to play alongside Falcao, before Falcao moved to Atletico.
Any guesses?
Hulk?
HELL YER!
Yeah I didn't include him because he plays predominantly more as winger than a striker. But yes he is a great player ;)

surprised y none of europes biggest have him?
Forgot two major ones: Edinson Cavani and GARY HOOPER (My favourite player, so what)
Oh yer, Cavani is a freak.
Right at this moment - without Ronaldo and Messi - it would be RVP... Anyone see his finish on the weekend? Nothing but class.
Oh, and LUIS SUAREZ! ;D :P
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eafTaiBnArQ
Yeah great finish. Not to blow my own trumpet but I did score a very similar goal this year except mine went in to the top corner, plus I am right footed and hit it with my left 8)
Does anyone remember Rooney's volley against Newcastle a couple seasons back? That was a super goal!

Regarding my goal it was good that I scored it because directly before it I had missed a penalty ::)
Then from the goal kick it was kicked down to my defenders who kicked it back, let it drop over my head it volleyed it top corner. I think that made up for the penalty miss (my first and only miss from the spot) ;)

Terrible quality.
This had turned from best strikers to best goals.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KzAZTdyOXcA
This has had no publicity as Glentoran are a small team, if Messi/Ronaldo/Rooney etc scored this it'd be classed the best goal of all time. 92nd minute winner by Matty Burrows, backheel volley around the defender.

Probably because calling Hunterlaar the best striker is the stupidest call I've ever heard....
next thing you'll tell me is that Puskas and Di Stefano are overrated.....
Um no not at all. They were world class players.
Huntelaar is nowhere near that standard.
If you are so convinced he is the worlds best explain to me why he is better than all the players I listed...
read the thread
CF would u agree the RVP is on eis the most inform strikers in the world?
I have cic and this is all you have said...

That statement is just plain incorrect considering he has only been playing there for 1 and a half seasons. Plus he didn't even perform all that well in his first season.

Considering Raul is now 34 that doesn't have all that much merit to it. Raul moved to Germany because it is an easier league than the Spanish league so that he could prolong his playing time.

I have presented arguments against why Huntelaar isn't the best yet you haven't provided a single bit of evidence saying why any of the players I mentioned aren't and why Hunter is better than them.

Clearly he is. Scoring a goal a game in the PL (including 12 in his last 8 games) is no mean feat.
Hunter isn't even the best Dutch forward around at the moment, RVP is!
Obviously the Dutch NT would disagree with you
And why is that?
Again you are providing no substance for anything you are saying
National Team
Klaas-Jan Huntelaar
30 Goals 48 appearances
Robin Van Persie
25 goals 60 appearances
do the math
So you say the Dutch NT disagree with me saying that RVP is better. So why is it that RVP has been capped 14 more times (he has actually been capped 62 times not 60) in the same space of time??
When playing for the Dutch side RVP is played more as a wide forward to be the creator for others. Seriously cic you are almost trolling these boards now with ridiculous comments ::)
you keep proving yourself wrong
if he was the striker you claim why would the NT play him out of position?
Also if the Dutch NT team disagrees with CF
then y did RVP play the final of the WC last yr the full 120 minutes
and Huntelaar didnt even come on as a sub ?
While we are on the topic of naming some of our favourite strikers, some other guys I love who have not been mentioned yet are Vagner Love ( :-* Not the greatest, but he has FLARE), Doumbia, Drogba and more of a Winger but Neymar :o
because Spain dominated them
they were trying to stop David Villa from scoring at all costs hacking at opponents legs to get the ball

but i have a thing for African strikers lol
i love Eto'o,Adebayor and Gyan
Yeah I love those 3 as well. But I'm even more suprised. How has the best striker in the history of the game not been mentioned yet!
Heeeeeeeeeskkeeey!

Cic you say I prove myself wrong, but you did exactly that by showing how many times each had played for their country, trying to say the Dutch rate him higher even though he had played less times than RVP during that time.
The reason RVP is played out wide is because he is extremely versatile (something which is great for an attacker). So he can start out wide then cut inside and cause havoc. The Dutch play with 3 up front, 1 target man and the 2 wide men. RVP can easily play as either the target man or wide man, and has done both on numerous occasions. Huntelaar cannot.
Van Persie only really ever scores goals when he only needs to beat the keeper, never any great solo goals where the goal rests on his shoulders. Most of the time Song, Arshavin, Arteta etc. do all the work for him and all he needs to do is know where to be, which he does well.
That and Van Persie has no other real attacking players to compete with for goals. Rooney has Chicharito, Berbatov, Welbeck and even Nani, Torres has Drogba, Anelka (not for long) and Sturridge. Even Huntelaar must compete with Raul, Farfan, Marica and Draxler. Van Persie has to compete with...Chamakh, who has scored about 2 goals since the first month or two of 2010/11.
RVP plays for Arsenal. He wins.
Arsenal are one of the richest clubs in the world they can afford whoever they want
Schalke have league wide salary cap and financial business to contend with (50 +1)
in all other leagues every club that wishes to succeed is in debt
But what has the amount of money each club has got to do with how good a player is?
Absolutely nothing!
it shows the richest clubs will always get the world's best players the only reason RVP looks as good as he does is because Arsenal is the stingiest club on the planet
http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/blog/2010/apr/11/bundesliga-premier-league
Money doesn't show how good a player is though Cic.
It may show that he is good value for money, but it doesn't mean that they are the best in the world.

Well he doesn't play the same role as Messi,Ronaldo, Torres. He (and Drogba) is one of the best finishing strikers in the world. His shot is deadily, he is a great CF, can header and seems to be in the right place all the time.

That article you posted has got absolutely nothing to do with your argument that Huntelaar is the best in the world. All it says is the bundesliga is in a better financial position than the other leagues. Plus it is almost 2 years old.
Seriously cic nothing you have said supports your theory that Huntelaar is the best. Just give up an stop posting random articles of nonsense
