Thought I would join the party after a review,

You may ask why Sam Darcy is in Red although not having played a game. He is listed on Dogs players list as a ruck and if that is their intention to use him there obviously need him to supplement English and Sweet. Do not think Stef goes around next year.

Church will be looking to add a bit of firepower through the midfield. We are also short starting quality defenders. Plenty of forwards to offer, and all picks up for trade.

Dean the only player explicitly untouchable, however current team balance also means George Hewett & Mason Redman are close to that category. Everyone else has a price, and despite some tardiness due to life commitments, I'm usually pretty fair.

Interested in adding some more/different faces to my midfield and wouldn't be opposed to adding another forward. Travis Boak is readily available for a team that is striving to contend in the short-term. Open to moving fringe/prospect players for additional draft capital. Expecting to have a small surplus of defenders if my expectations for 2023 positions eventuate.

Frankly this doesn't mean too much, if you want one of my players and think you can some up with a good offer then go for it. Though Powell, Ledwards and Milo are probably all off-limits. We're probably contending again so I might not trade those old blokes who are available, especially if DPP goes in our favour, so we're likely just looking for a good starting forward and a defender/mid, though who knows.

Rio De Janeiro #Flaguars

Key:
Core Squad Player
Standard Player
Please Leave My Club

Def [10]: Daniel Rich, Brayden Maynard, Isaac Cumming, Changkuoth Jiath, Will Day, Nasiah Wanganeen-Milera [Mid], Josh Walker, Joel Hamling, Alastair Lord.
Mid [8]: Brad Crouch, Matthew Kennedy, Karl Amon, Jack Viney, James Jordon, Oskar Baker, Harry Sharp, Joel Western.
Ruck [6]: Jeremy Finlayson [Fwd], Tom De Koning [Fwd], Sam Hayes, Mason Cox [Fwd], Oscar Adams [Def], Charlie Comben [Fwd].
Fwd [14]: Tim Taranto [Mid], Jeremy Cameron, Kyle Langford [Mid], Ben Hobbs [Mid], Todd Marshall, Mason Wood, Tarryn Thomas [Mid], Eric Hipwood, Jamarra Ugle-Hagan, Gary Rohan, Jed McEntee [Mid], Eddie Ford, Ollie Lord, Mitch W Brown.
* Listed using assumed 2023 positions

NAT Draft [7]: 15, 28, 36, 47, 51, 52, 69.
PSD Picks [3]: 15, 33, 51.
2023 NAT Draft: 1st (Rio), 2nd (Rio), 3rd (Rio), 4th (Rio), 5th (Rio).

Total List Size: 47

De-listed/Retired Players: Darragh Joyce, Taj Schofield, Matt de Boer, Stevie Motlop, Luke Brown.

Target areas:
- Defensive depth. 2 best 22 defenders. Scoring power irrelevant, just need warm bodies.
- Defensive starter. 1 player.
- Midfield starter. 2 players. Anything 80+ as a midfielder.
- Always happy to add key forwards.

Offload areas:
- I definitely have too many best 22 forwards. Langford probably the main attraction. Taranto moving would require a captain option coming in to the club as part of the deal.
- Lowering the age profile is something I'm always looking to do.
- Will likely need to make some 2 for 1 trades given the list size sits at +5 right now.

I'll be on the lookout for a forward or two, possibly a mid. Looks like I'll have a few defenders, so most likely will be looking to trade from this list (plus picks):
Duncan, LMac, Harris, Sleevo, Battle, Bowes, Logue, IQ, Rivers
Title: Re: WXV Trade Confabulation 2022

Seeking mids predominately, everyone has a price! Have good defenders to spare, and open to trading forwards.

Title: Re: WXV Trade Confabulation 2022
Post by: RaisyDaisy on August 15, 2022, 10:38:05 AM
Main priorities for NY are looking for a starting defender (min 80+) and a starting mid (min 85+) so if you have either available, and something below is of interest then I look forward to hearing from you :)

Expected 2023 positions

DEF: Bailey Dale, Caleb Daniel, Sam Taylor, Blake Hardwick, Jake Kelly, Lewis Melican, Rhyan Mansell, Garrett McDonagh, Luke Cleary, Cameron Fleeton

I have no intentions of trading Bailey Dale and Sam Taylor. Caleb Daniel unlikely to move also, but am open to discussing him if the deal is right. Everyone else readily available

MID: Cam Guthrie, Rory Sloane, Jy Simpkin, Luke Dunstan, Trent Dumont, Will Hoskin-Elliott, Max Holmes (FWD), James Willis, Brady Hough (DEF), Robbie McComb (FWD)

Cam Guthrie and Jy Simpkin are essentially the keys of my midfield, so it would take something exceptional to move either of them. Max Holmes and Brady Hough are two youngsters that I intend on keeping, but could move in the right deal. Everyone else is openly available

RUC: Mark Blicavs, Rhys Stanley, Darcy Fort (FWD), Chris Burgess (FWD), Jack Williams (FWD), Patrick Murtagh (FWD), Paul Tsapatolis

Blicavs, Stanley and Tsapatolis will likely need to stay as Geelong rucks (unless I get another starting ruck in return). The others are openly available

FWD: Nat Fyfe (MID), Patrick Lipinski (MID), Jed Anderson (MID), Jack Darling, Brad Close, Tom Powell (MID), Willie Rioli, Esava Ratugolea (RUC), Cooper Sharman, Jake Riccardi (MID), Mitch Wallis, Elliott Himmelberg, Beau McCreery, Phoenix Spicer, Malcolm Rosas

This is where I expect most of my trade currency to come from. I'm going to say that all forwards are on the table in order to increase the likeliness of someone offering me a good enough def or mid. Lipinski and Close would probably be the 2 I value the highest, and are borderline off the table, but again, if the offer is too good to refuse then anything can happen

My intention is to use Pick 5 in this years draft, but I'm open to using that as trade currency too if need be. All other picks on the table, as well as all future picks next year including 1st

Karen

Defenders
Inclined to Offload: Sam Frost, Sean Lemmens, Hayden Crozier, Alex Keath
Indifferent: Leo Connolly, Fischer McAsey, Matt McGuinness
Inclined to Keep: Noah Balta, Josh Worrell, Brennan Cox, Buku Khamis
Strongly Inclined to Keep: Tom Stewart, Nick Vlastuin, Ed Richards

Midfielders
Inclined to Offload: Taylor Adams, Hugh Greenwood, Shane Edwards, Mitch Robinson
Indifferent: Tom Joyce, Daniel McKenzie, Jye Caldwell, Riley Collier-Dawkins
Inclined to Keep: Josh Daicos, Alex Davies, Josh Ward, Taj Woewodin, Karl Worner, Kamdyn McIntosh
Strongly Inclined to Keep: Hugh McCluggage, Jordan Clark

Rucks
Strongly Inclined to Keep: Braydon Preuss, Matthew Flynn, Kieren Briggs

Forwards
Indifferent: Jason Castagna, Josh Bruce, Jake Melksham, Daniel Lloyd, Travis Colyer, Will Kelly
Inclined to Keep: Lincoln McCarthy, Alex Neal-Bullen, Conor Stone, Jye Amiss, Judson Clarke
Strongly Inclined to Keep: Tom J Lynch

Mainly targeting another solid mid option and forward option. Wouldn't mind another pick or two anywhere between my first rounder and whatever my second pick is (I think it's my 4th rounder atm lmao). As always, everyone available for the right price, but I can't imagine anyone satisfying the price tag on a Stewart or Clugg type, but humour me if you wish via Discord DMs or on FB messenger if you want/have me added there.

As much fun as it would be to load up on a bunch of old guys and have another crack at a flag before flopping in 7th place, I think we'll be starting a rebuild of sorts before it's too late and become 2024 Geelong. We have plenty of older guns available as well as several mids still in their prime. If you're looking to load up for a flag tilt, hit us up and we can talk.

Neale, Ellis and Coniglio would probably be our most valuable players and juiciest assets, provided Coniglio keeps his DPP. I'm open to trading these players, but they will command a high price.

Jed Anderson (MID/FWD)
Future 1st Pick (Likely Top 5-10 pick next year)

Sloane's main concern is coming off an injury, but he's generally a 90-100avg mid who probably still has 2 years left

Darling had a horror preseason with all that Covid stuff and avg 69 this year. Last 2 years 75 and 80, and importantly still has 3 more years on his contract. Could easily be a 70-80avg fwd

Anderson is a 80+ F all day, but some coaches are concerned he isn't contracted for next year yet. Even if Norf let him go, I'm sure he'll get picked up elsewhere

I understand all 3 have their own risks, but they also have a fair bit of upside too and could all be solid starters so there's some nice risk/reward for anyone willing to get them on the cheap (relative to 12 months ago)

I'm looking for a starting mid, but would consider a starting def too

Happy to package these guys, or include my high future first

If there's any interest, let me know :)

Adams and Greenwood probably the two biggest pieces on the table and of interest I imagine, RCD available if anyone wants the punt on him seeking a trade for more opportunity (I think its likely). Can swap some forward depth for defs or mids and still interested in acquiring at least one more pick as well.

All coaches have voted

Trade 15
Toronto trade: Travis Boak
PNL trade: Marcus Windhager

received 4 votes, meaning it has passed, but I can overturn.

Coaches felt Boak was worth more. It's a tricky one, as Boak clearly has the superior firepower, but suspect that Windhager's solid first season - albeit at 45ppg - offsets this by having his whole career ahead of him, hence 13 coaches giving it the all clear.

Whilst I agree Boak is the better player in 2023, I don't disagree with the premise of this trade enough to overturn.

Trade passes.

Feeling pretty comfortable with my lines at this stage but always looking to do more deals, i would preference another starting defender in any deals

Ollie wines - 106/113 last 2 years
- I would consider a trade involving Wines + ? for a slightly younger mid

Jarrod Berry - Has struggled with injury recently but  had an 81 average this year (minus 1 injury game) with an 86 average since round 10 and a previous 97 season
- Would trade for a defender, happy to add if required

Riley Bonner - 83 unsubbed average this year
- Happy to look at trading by adding or possible in addition a large piece

Also happy to look at any trade really, although im unlikely to trade speculative youth for other speculative youth but those same players could be involved in large deals

3 coaches still to vote.

The following trades auto-pass (unless they are dependent on another trade)

Trade 20
Dublin trade: Jayden Hunt + Christchurch Future 2nd Round Pick
Berlin trade: Brodie Smith

Trade 23
Cairo trade: Taylor Adams + Cairo Future 4th Round Pick
Buenos Aires trade: Jimmy Webster + Pick 18
Title: Re: WXV Trade Confabulation 2022

All coaches have voted

Trade 19
London trade: Jack Lukosius, Jacob Van Rooyen + Pick 63
Berlin trade: Darcy Wilmot, Bailey Fritsch + Pick 53
3 votes - autopass

Trade 21
Cairo trade: Riley Collier-Dawkins + Pick 82
Cape Town trade: Nick Murray
1 vote - autopass

Trade 22
Rio de Janeiro trade: Daniel Rich, Will Day, Pick 15 + Pick 52
Rio de Janeiro receive: Lachie Weller, Nathan Broad, Sam Collins + Denver Grainger-Barras

Toronto trade: Nathan Broad, Denver Grainger-Barras + Toronto Future 2nd Round Pick
Toronto receive: Daniel Rich + Pick 52

Seoul trade: Lachie Weller + Sam Collins
Seoul receive: Will Day, Pick 15 + Toronto Future 2nd Round Pick

This trade received 7 votes, meaning it has failed, but I have the ability to overturn into a pass.

Coaches were consistent in the reasons, feeling Seoul was receiving too much for what they were giving, and also felt Rio was giving too much for what they were receiving. Many coaches suggested removing Pick 15 from the deal would solve in the imbalance. No coaches mentioned Toronto's involvement at any point.

I won't labour the point - I see the merit in what the coaches are saying, noting Weller and Collins posted 81 and 68 averages respectively in what could be argued in the prime of their career, compared to Will Day posting 66, with an argument (not saying he will) for improvement. The inherit argument is that their value (one a 1 for 1 basis) isn't dissimilar, and the gap isn't as wide as Pick 15 + Future 2nd suggests.  I'm not saying I agree one way or the other, but I'd conclude the coaches weren't unreasonable in their assessments of value.

Thus, the trade remains REJECTED

I'll be posting the reasons to the coaches involved.

These trades auto-pass

Trade 25
Buenos Aires trade: Jarrod Berry + Jack Ginnivan
Tokyo trade: Zac Williams + Tokyo Future 2nd Round Pick

Trade 27
Rio de Janeiro trade: Daniel Rich, Will Day + Pick 52
Rio de Janeiro receive: Lachie Weller, Nathan Broad, Denver Grainger-Barras + Seoul Future 4th Round Pick

Toronto trade: Nathan Broad, Denver Grainger-Barras + Toronto Future 2nd Round Pick
Toronto receive: Daniel Rich + Pick 52

Seoul trade: Lachie Weller + Seoul Future 4th Round Pick
Seoul receive: Will Day + Toronto Future 2nd Round Pick

Trade 28
New York trade: Caleb Daniel + Jacob Weitering + Jake Kelly
Dublin trade: Christian Salem + Brodie Smith + Brandan Parfitt

This trade received 6 votes, meaning it has failed but I have the ability to overturn it to a pass.

Trade 26
Seoul trade: Seoul Future 1st Round Pick + Buenos Aires Future 1st Round Pick
Tokyo trade: Tokyo Future 1st Round Pick

All coaches expressed concerns on the strong likelihood of Tokyo overpaying in this trade, given Seoul and Buenos Aires have genuine top 4 claims next year, whilst Tokyo may be more likely to finish in the bottom half of the ladder.

I think this trade was the reason why we (the community) had initial reservations in allowing the trading of future 1st round selections. Irrespective of the possibility of Tokyo profitting this trade, the potential for it go pear-shaped for a team whom finished bottom of the ladder, and whom didn't hedge their bets by including a known quantity in the trade... I think I may have even rejected it if it landed on 4-5 votes.

Trade is rejected.

Reasons will be PMed to Seoul and Tokyo.

Cairo, Rio and Mexico City yet to vote.

Both trades decided.

Dublin trade: James Harmes + Pick 41
Rome trade: Jack Ziebell, Pick 12 + Pick 54

auto-passes

Trade 39
Christchurch trade: Rory Lobb
London trade: London Future 1st Round Pick

Has received 7 votes. All think London are overpaying, pointing towards the likelihood of a top 5-10 draft pick for a player that isn't certain to get RUC status.

I don't disagree with the coaches enough to overturn the decision.

Trade is rejected.

Reasons will be sent to coaches shortly

Post by: Purple 77 on November 26, 2022, 09:00:14 PM
All coaches have voted.

Both of these trades have received 4 votes. Which means these trades have passed, but I can overturn.

Trade 42
Berlin trade: Jamie Cripps, Luke Pedlar + Pick 30
London trade: Dominic Sheed, Pick 53 + Pick 81

Coaches felt that in terms of value, its about even, but cited it causes a midfield shortage which doesn't currently exist in London's forward line.

Noting I'm involved in the trade, I can't overturn the decision whether it landed on 4 or 6+ votes. However, I'm comfortable letting this pass trade given the coaches indicated that the trade value wise is about right, and that London has since gained 2 midfielder since the trade (Pickett and shiels).

Trade is passed.

Trade 44
Seoul trade: Seoul Future 1st Round Pick + Buenos Aires Future 1st Round Pick
Seoul receive: Pick 8 + Pick 29

Christchurch trade: Rory Lobb, Pick 8 + Pick 29
Christchurch receive: Buenos Aires Future 1st Round Pick, London Future 1st Round Pick + London Future 3rd Round Pick

London trade: London Future 1st Round Pick + London Future 3rd Round Pick
London receive: Rory Lobb + Seoul Future 1st Round Pick

All coaches felt Seoul receiving Pick 29 was excessive. Whilst I can see merit in the argument, I can understand why it has been added, given the strong possibility of being late first round picks. I don't disagree with the coaches enough to overturn.

Trade is passed.
