San Francisco Grizzlies 20.6.126 defeated Colorado Avalanche 16.12.108
(Real: 1893 vs 1623)
The pick one dream is over, as the Grizzlies upset the Avalanche by some margin, in a game Colorado would've loved to win to get them to 5-5 and in touch with the top six. Colorado had three 130+ scorers - two of them as CCs - and a 121 but had far too many passengers to enjoy, while the Grizzlies matched the three 130+ scores, plus five other tons and a 99 to manage a 126 even without a sub (would've added 74 more points with Laverde sub and Soilgo E1). Congratulations to Anaheim for securing MSD1 - you can start trying now!
Carolina Panthers 19.8.122 defeated Boston Terriers 17.10.112
(Real: 1831 vs 1680)
Huge win for the Panthers as they sit on the fringe of the six, while the Terriers halve their buffer over third place and PROBABLY (see below) double their distance from first. Carolina are usually feast or famine, but they put together a pretty consistent and above average effort to score well and get a nice victory and a tidy bit of % over a good side, who had a dirty day with only one 110+ scorer - the great Callum Wilkie.
Wisconsin Cockerels 20.5.125 lost to Chicago Sharks 20.6.126
(Real: 1873 vs 1878)
Speaking of huge wins to keep a 5-4 team going in the finals race, Chicago with a massive victory on the road against the ladder leaders, who would've fallen to equal with Boston in wins if the Terriers didn't throw. Having the only 150+ scorer as CC helps of course, with Oliver's 178 going to 312, but the Sharks also had five 120+ scorers and probably should've won by more if it wasn't for a fair few 50s and 60s. Macrae "only" managing 104 as captain is an easy scapegoat for the Cockerels, and they sure did come home with a force with Darcy (134) and Clark (105) following Dyl Moore scoring 70 points in his second half, but they JUST fell short.
Late edit: not naming Charlie Curnow (122) = bad coach?
Las Vegas Sinners 18.10.118 defeated New Brooklyn Hawks 15.11.101
(Real: 1767 vs 1508)
The run of upsets ends with your expected comfortable Sinners victory. It could have easily been more, but the Sinner Swans suffered and sharked their score - Franklin 33, Ladhams 40, Warner 51, Hayward 58 were poor (Gulden and Lloyd average, Blakey good), but their former Swans in CC Hewett (120), Dawson (130) and Mitchell (129) were great. Brodie, Nankervis and Brouch were great for the Hawks, but they lacked support - Steele being out and Cripps being mediocre tanked their efforts to say the least.
Quito Quetzals 19.8.122 defeated Anaheim Mighty Ducks 14.10.94
(Real: 1833 vs 1405)
Expected scoring, expected results. Quito jump to 6-4, like a fair few other teams, and boost their already pretty healthy percentage. Never in doubt. The top 7 scoring players in this game being Quetzals is always a recipe for a big win.
Houston Bombers 17.10.112 defeated Ottawa Otters 17.8.110
(Real: 1677 vs 1655)
Taberner (22, the same as the margin) with the huge choke job to leave Ottawa as the sole 5-4 side to not get a win, leaving their finals hopes significantly tarnished. Houston, on the other hand, got a vital win to go to 6-4, but will probably still drop to 7th on percentage. The Bombers had a 22 of their own, and a 32, and a 41, and a 55 by Greg "Superman" Clark, but the CC Jacks did enough to grab them the victory.
