Colorado Avalanche 16.10.106 lost to Boston Terriers 19.10.124
(Real: 1592 vs 1859)
Wouldn't have mattered this week, but pls name your team Koop. Cumming, Neale, Laird and Goldstein (suspiciously, we all know he didn't deserve 142) lead the way, making up for a 33 and a 22 up forward, to a decent score on the road. Walsh, Simpkin and Rowell failed to fire which never ends well for the Avalanche.
Chicago Sharks 18.12.120 defeated San Francisco Grizzlies 14.11.95
(Real: 1793 vs 1422)
Back to Earth this week, mostly thanks to Stewart scoring...not exactly 189 as captain this week. The Chicago CCs lead the way (sus), followed closely by Sicily and Hurn.
New Brooklyn Hawks 18.9.117 defeated Carolina Panthers 15.16.106
(Real: 1749 vs 1588)
The boom or bust nature of the Panthers continues in a big way, with a major bust in a result that could have big finals implications. A midfield scoring 60, 85x2, 95x1.5, 25, 52, and 38 won't win you many matches, especially when the Hawks midfield blasts four tons, including a 151 as CC. The Hawks backline needs work (maybe trade for Liam Duggan again?), with three sub-50 scorers, so definitely room to improve in spite of a solid score and victory.
Anaheim Mighty Ducks 19.8.122 lost to Wisconsin Cockerels 21.9.135
(Real: 1823 vs 2026)
Did anybody expect Anaheim to score this highly? Not even when I was adding up their score did I expect it, but lead heroically by Boak, Hind, Draper, Merrett, and Mundy they put up a good display, falling short to a side with a 178, a 144, and a 149 - couldn't ask Anaheim to do any more, but maybe and hopefully they'll push for a win before the mid-season draft and climb off bottom spot.
Las Vegas Sinners 17.10.112 lost to Ottawa Otters 18.8.116
(Real: 1679 vs 1736)
A big upset, as the Sinners sure do blow a chance to gain a foothold in the finals race - and are now level on wins with Ottawa! Where did it go wrong? A forward line that combined for 200-odd and CCs scoring 40 and 77 - despite playing lowly Essendon and West Coast - can certainly be huge reasons. Ottawa did what they had to do, with three tons down back, two on the utilities, a C and VC scoring 95+, and Jye Amiss on debut doing his hand to snatch this victory as they possibly...look towards finals?
Houston Bombers 16.11.107 defeated Quito Quetzals 14.18.102
(Real: 1603 vs 1527)
Is this an even bigger upset? Quito were FLYING for the month before this game, but Houston scalp this and move within one win of Quito, remarkably. The Quito CCs sure did blow, with not enough help from the other 17 players to make up for it. Houston weren't amazing, but did enough to get the win in spite of an injury-affected 12 up forward.
