Process for lodgement of teams this year with teams again only being announced 24hours in advance. To allow for this you can name up to 6 emergencies.
Teams are to be lodged in this format:
Def: xxxx xxxx xxxx xxxx
Mid: xxxx xxxx xxxx xxxx
Ruck: xxxx
Fwds: xxxx xxxx xxxx xxxx
Util: xxxx xxxx (can be in any position)
Emergencies: xxxx xxxx xxxx xxxx xxxx xxxx (name in priority order and post in UF)
With no Thursday night game we will have partial lockout at bounce of Giants Dogs game Friday night. Giants Dogs players will be locked at that time as will Captain, Vice Captain and emergency Vice Captain.
All players will then be locked at bounce of Cats Eagles game on Saturday.
Teams to be lodged in UF and this thread with Emergencies in order so Admin can make the required adjustments if necessary as per emergence rule that applies in BXVs so you can see the importance of order. Note if Teams are lodged as per UF and emergency order not listed in this thread then UF order used which means first emergency is your defender. A number of teams last week that said as per UF had their defender come in with utilities replacing players not named.
With lockout in UF at bounce of First Saturday game please ensure teams are also updated in UF.
When lodging teams please do not edit teams post in a new or quoted post.
Draw for Rd 6 (First named team will have the home ground advantage)
Lots of injuries for teams to cover and a number of teams playing lower teams so how many upsets will we see this weekend.
Oxford Lions v Hebden Bridge Hedgehogs
5th v 15th Lions were unlucky against the top placed Hoods last week with their home crowd getting them over the line. They face the Hedgies this week who had their highest score of the year with captain Neale coming back to form lifting them from the bottom. Will the Hedgies be able to maintain new recruits Parfitt and Witherden in their team come this week and will they maintain form. Lions also had a few underperforming players last week and with them lifting should account for the Hedgies but any slip ups an upset possible.
Blackpool Bunnies v Nottingham Hoods
1st v 11th Hoods fans got them home over a gallant Lions outfit last week. Hoods will looking to restore their dominance in the competition as a loss will see them more than likely drop to 2nd place. Really hard to see the Bunnies toppling the Hoods unless they contain a rampaging Macrae in the midfield. Ward may be the man to do it but would need to lift to achieve this.
Manchester Magic v Leeds Leeches
13th v 4th Leeches Leeches had first defeat for the year crippled by the injuries to Howe and Ridley. Leeches have the depth to cover these players and should return to the winning list at the expense of the Magic. Magic also has injury problems with Houston going down and will require a herculean effort if to cause an upset.
Swansea Breakers v Bradford Badgers
16th v 10th Question here is can Duggan and Redden keep the form of last week? They lifted the Badgers to an easy win over the Bunnies and would be favoured to beat the Breakers if they do. Any slips may enable the Breakers to cause an upset should their players lift. Will coach stir them up is the question? Badgers to get home.
Huddersfield Hawks v Grope Lane Giants
14th v 3rd - Giants are travelling well in 3rd place and depth will be tested with injuries to Cerra and de Goey. They appear to have the depth to cover and should account for the Hawks and maintain their position in the Top 4. Should Hawks really start supporting Captain Dunkley an upset again may be possible but hard to see based on from to date.
Birmingham Dragons v Liverpool Rams
12th v 8th This will probably be match of the round as both teams are on 2 wins only separated by %, Winner should retain 8th place with loser dropping out. Dragons depth being tested in recent weeks and will again be this week. Will be forced to use makeshift ruck again and this is where Rams may have the advantage. However Dragons are at home and home crowd could get them over the line. Rams favoured though
Staines Steins v Winchester Werewolves
2nd v 9th Since their shock defeat in Rd 1 by Hoods, Steins have been super-impressive again with their GG combination lifting after the Rd 1 disappointment. Really hard to see the Wolves challenging unless they can curb the ball supply to mids lead by Bontempelli. Can not see it so Steins to continue push up the ladder maybe if Hoods falter,
Knights v Hurricanes
7th v 6th The other contender for match of the round with both teams on 12 points (3 wins) separated by minimum %. Winner will maintain position in 8 and loser maybe a chance to drop out of the 8 depending on results. Knights will be hoping main ruck Marshall gets up this week after beeing a late withdrawal last week. Hurricanes will have an interesting time at the selection table to see if players can force their way back in and has Perryman completely recovered from Glandular Fever? Maybe a case of the Knights crowd lifting their team home in the final minutes.
Best of luck all and remember the reason for ANZAC Day on Sunday.
