Title: Round 6 trades
Post by: bkimm32 on April 19, 2021, 11:21:38 AM
Campbell is probably ripe for culling but unfortunately there is many great options available.

Treacy is a handy dpp ruck/forward on the bubble but scoring, money making and job security is very sus
Finley Macrae had a nice game but his scoring didn’t really reflect it, he probably plays another couple games at least, but risky pulling the trigger before he’s on the bubs
McCreery is probably a good downgrade option, especially with Howe and De Goey set to miss, however not many will have too many cash cows worth culling in the forward line as of yet. I’ve lost my DPP links anyway.

Looking at bringing in a nice POD defender  but not sure whether I
should go for Finley Macrae or not as I’ve lost my DPP link mid/forward to get McCreery

Another on the bubble is defender Lachlan Jones,

Just Jones for me this week

McCreery looks alright but I don't need a fwd rookie atm and I'll look at Finlay next week

The rest (Treacy, Mansell, Stone, Prior) are a clear pass for me

Macrae looks good just needs to tidy up the disposal, I'm tempted to go early.

See how the backline looks - Got issues with Captain Ridley this week  :), Clark, Highmore, Sharp
if Clark get the nod for Geelong
Gulden => Neale
Powell => Jones via Sharp DPP

Or Nothing

Or Maybe
Gulden => Neale
Clark => Jones

Waiting on Sunday teams sucks

Thinking that Tex may miss a few matches during the season.  So I'm going Tex to Dunkley and Campbell to Jones

Yeah mate, that's what I'm thinking.  He's done his job for me and Dunkley is flying

Can't argue with bringing in Dunkley, but I wouldn't be trading out Tex for no reason

Tex is looking like a keeper, and considering the lack of overall prem fwds I plan on keeping Tex all year (unless there's a significant drop off)

I just can't see him playing the whole season uninterupted and feel he will miss a few here and there.  I just don't want to have a "keeper"
doing that.  I maybe wrong, but I just can't see him playing each week.

I have not traded out Daniels, as I think he is a keeper, the same as why I have kept Neale.  I have only made one correction trade and that was Cripps to Short after R2

Fair enough, but why not just at least wait until/if Tex actually misses first?

Bulldogs play on Friday and Adelaide play on Sunday.

I am not saying Tex wont play this week. I am just thinking he will not play every match and for a keeper, you would want a player to play every game

Tex looked cooked in the second half. I wouldn't be shocked if he misses this week.

I disagree, but will stand corrected after next weekend
He was working hard but did not have the support, no-one else running!

No, his calf was visibly hampering him after HT and he struggled to push off and jump. They showed him in the rooms on the bike trying to keep his legs moving at HT. They obviously think he can play through it, but it will likely hamper his performance.

What about Bergman at 159K? With Butters & Duursma out for awhile, maybe he gets a decent run at it?

Role is ok on the half back line too.

Fair call, but I'd go with McCreery and save the 40k if I was to do that

Given no Jones, Ridley out.

Bruhn to J Prior through Sharp.

Clark to R Mansell.

Double rubbish trade just to fill the backline.2 playing rooks on the bench. season not looking great.

Hopefully afford Neale next week and fix another rookie. sigh

Thinking of going 1 of the following:

Out - Campbell, Clark
In - McCreery, Witherden

OR

Out - Warner, Clark
In - McCreery, Ryan

Leaning towards the former. I look pretty good elsewhere.

Wouldn't touch Witherden until you see what happens when Hurn returns, likely next week

With Campbell not being named and both Waterman and Brockman playing VFL have to have a rethink

One Trade Campbell to McCreery

2nd trade undecided as only have 510k to spend to upgrade Clark so looking at Lever (Will Mays return effect his scoring) as a POD, Jeremy McGovern, Brodie Smith

Clark + Gulden => Neale + Mansell
or
nothing and donut!

I like the trade, Neale a good price even if he stumbles a bit against the Curnow tag.

Gone Campbell to Jack Macrae which had worked out frame at.

Not sure if I should go early on Fin Macrae or take McNeil’s 50? Would normally take the 50 but with the Dunkley injury thinking of freeing another up for next week

Has also got me thinking, possible to do an upgrade with the change from Dunkley.

Dunkley hit his breakeven. He can very easily be turned into a cheaper premium and it could almost be as good as a downgrade trade. I currently don't have Dusty, I could pocket over 100k in that trade alone. If I didn't have a Tom Mitchell/Luke Ryan type it would be extraordinarily easy to bring them in and pocket a crap ton of cash in the process for an upgrade the following week.

The beauty of this situation is the Sydney rookies play early so you get a narrow window to do the math for an upgrade. It may pay to go early on Macrae.

Don't think I will do any trades this week - just pondering whether I should go early on Fin Macrae to free up both trades next week

The amount of injuries I've copped already this season is crazy, and now I need to trade Dunkley out next week

Thank goodness I held onto Heeney though (touch wood)

I'm copping a donut down back with Ridley out too this week. Hopefully Highmore plays to avoid the donut, but if not, I don't see the point in using a valuable trade just to get Mansell, I'd rather cop the donut and save the trade, as frustrating as that is

Actually, maybe I should go early on Fin this week to bank some cash so that next week I could possible do Dunkley to cheaper prem and use the funds generated from that plus this weeks trade to get another upgrade squeezed in, something like Gulden to premo might work
Title: Re: Round 6 trades

Zorko one to watch, particularly if Neale cops all the attention. Dunkley to Zorko plants 150k in the coffers. Add another 60k from a dud rookie to Macrae & Gulden goes to a premo mid next week.

Solid planning there - given we'll need to use at least one trade next week to ditch Dunks, perhaps getting Macrae this week ain't such a bad idea.. Leave 2 trades next week.

Yeah, I want to turn Dunkley and a rookie into 2 prems next week, so that means I need to go early on Macrae this week

Campbell to Macrae and Berry to Mansell at this stage
