Title: ADT: 2019 Awards Night!
Post by: Nige on August 28, 2019, 07:17:22 PM
Hello friends, it is I, Nige the admin guy. You may remember me from such things as 'All Those Annoying PMs You Receive' and '@ADT' among other things.

Anyway, tonight is the night that to be truthful... is a little overdue, but get hyped because it's:

ADT Awards Night 2019!

We've got a big count coming your way, with the winner being presented with ADT's most biggest individual honour, the Ben Graham Medal!

There's also several other awards and honour to be handed out, so grab the charcuterie and a slab and nestle in for what is bound to be a big night!

Someone behind the scenes forgot that it would be important to keep a running tally of the leaderboard, their position is under threat and they'll face the board tomorrow. However, don't sweat, I'm still here and as long as I am, the night rolls on. In fact, now we have our first award for the night!

The winner of the ADT Rising Star for 2019 is...

Another coach voted award incoming, this time for the big boys... although Caleb Daniel was also nominated.  ;D

The winner of the ADT Coaches MVP Award for 2019 is...

Brodie Grundy!

Brodie is the premier ruckman of the competition and one could probably say the best player in the comp... at least the coaches seem to think so as he's now gone back to back in winning this award, which he's won this year ahead of Rowan Marshall and Jake Lloyd.

It's time to see who you guys like the most in everyone's favourite popularity contest. If it isn't me, you're all getting punished!  >:(

The winner of the Coach of the Year 2019 is...

Pkbaldy!

That's not how you spell my name. :'( This unworthy barbie fluked his way to back to back premierships, and coach of the year awards and he'll probably cure cancer or something next. Anyway, congratulations friend!

I figured a question like that might arise.

So the Ben Graham Medal votes work on a 3-2-1 basis based on the highest scores in each matchup. To break up any ties in scores, preference goes to the player in the winning team (if a player from either side has the same score), and then goes to position (where non-mids are favoured so it isn't purely a midfielders award). If both players are mids or non-mids, it's randomised between the two.

For team of the week, it's just the highest scores of the week in each position. 4 def, 6 mids, 1 ruck, 4 fwd, 3 util. Utilities can obviously be from any position. So if the top 9 scores for the week are mids, the 3 utilities will be mids. For DPP players named in the utilities, they fill whichever position is yet to be filled (usually not mid, mainly fwd - see: Dunkley, TKelly etc). At the end of the process, those with the most TOTW reps to their name fill out the positions. Now obviously there are several players who featured the same amount of times so it defaulted to average.

Handed out on TOTW appearances where Lloyd led the way with 9.

I'm gonna be honest, I completely forgot about it when I made the list of awards to post throughout the night. I also forgot highest team score.

I'll post both of those later. Man's slaved over this for 2 hours and is hungry as hahaha.
