How is the finals system working this year with a Top 6?

Should we be starting finals this week?

I don't know, but my guess is it will be over 3 weeks.  3 vs 6 and 4 vs 5 with 1st and 2nd getting the week off.
The winners play 1st and 2nd in week 2, with the two winners playing in the GF.

Yeah, you're probably right.

I just remember when the AFL had a final 6 system and it went over 4 weeks (probably unnecessarily)

Over 4 weeks it allows there to be a double chance for the top teams.  Over 3 weeks it's all knockout matches.

Anyone got a ruck to lend? Bellchambers still enarmoured with Olympia and won’t play, so still one short!
