Obviously as a long-time Aubrystan I have to back her in as my #1 but definitely like the looks of Victoria (Occupation: Waitress Personal Claim to Fame: I was valedictorian of my college with a perfect 4.0, lmao), for obvious reasons, and Wardog because you can't have the name Wardog and not be awesome/a trainwreck.

This is gonna be a really interesting season to see how the theme/twist plays out.

I'm mostly excited for the returnees, never been a huge Joe fan, he's just always been a much less interesting version of Ozzy/Malcolm, new age golden boy but he's always bound to suffer the same fate every time.

Think it's an awful season for David who is awesome, but hopefully he can hang around for at least a little while.

Aubry and Kelley are great, huge fan of both, definitely confident both will go far.

Of the newbies, I like the look of:
- Eric, think he'll be a discount Tony/Dom type
- Rick, there's just something about this dude, I think he'll be a great presence and character, Dr Mike but better
- Aurora, she's probably gonna be crazy but entertaining
- Julie, I reckon she'll be that middle aged lady that does really well. She's a superfan too so she'll know what she's doing

Wtf was that twist?  They didn't really give much away about it either.  I honestly have only vague recollections of Wentworth, was she really that good of a player, or what was her claim to fame, has she had work done?  Something just makes me not really remember her...

have not seen the first episode.   Aubrey grew on me in her season.  Joe will go the way of all competent alpha males,  gored and spat out by Tribe Matriarchy normally with the help of some other jealous alpha male or wimpy beta.

Redhead has to go as they are just an afront to human society.   Wendy gone just for wearing those bloody feet things.

Lol, you need to join the Survivor comp I'm in, have to pick the boot list in order before the first episode.  Buff's for top 3 and last place!  :P

Anyone have a theory on the survivors who are being voted out?  Could go a few ways...

1.  They battle it out and 1 comes back into the game.
2.  They wait till there is an entire tribe's worth of outed contestants who form a new tribe and play against the current tribe for survival.  Maybe if they win, the other current tribe goes home, or if they win they all just rejoin?

I'm just assuming once 4-5 get there, they all come back together as a new tribe. I'd prefer that over them battling out and just 1 returning, because that 1 who comes back has a huge target and is an easy decision again, where as a whole new tribe would really make it an even playing field and game on for all

But if they come back as a tribe I'm assuming the same number of ppl need to be gone at the conclusion of that challenge, season would be the exact same length.  Reckon they might be in a challenge with a significant disadvantage, if they win the other tribe goes home?  They could possibly be a 4th tribe, or a 3rd tribe when the merges and tribe break ups occur.

I'm pretty sure this information has already been made public but I'll chuck it in small text as a "spoiler" so you can choose whether you wanna read it or not. If you're interested, read it. If you're not and wanna be surprised, don't.

There'll be two chances for contestants on EOE to return, once at merge and once towards the end of the game.

But yeah, it's been kinda interesting so far. The cast has been good without being great. I've been enjoying all the returnees so far, even Joe. I do like that on Kama we have Joe and Aubry basically together on the bottom vs Manu where David and Kelley are basically going to head to head.

Rick and Victoria are easily my two favourite newbies so far, but I don't mind Eric, Ron and Wardog either. Looks like Julie's getting the purple edit since she hasn't had a confessional so far.

Can't help but feel someone is about to get swapflowered next.

So I feel like this double episode really helped kick this season into gear a bit.

Hopefully now that they're gonna merge, the dynamics shake up a little and it gets really exciting, but the last two tribals were a good start to this season taking a turn for the better.

From where Aurora was standing (and Vic too) they definitely could not see what was up with Lauren because most of them had their eyes closed and even if open their peripheral vision with that block on their heads would’ve been nothing, and if it was really bad they would’ve stopped the challenge so she probably assumed she wasn’t too bad (which is true). I’m happy to give Aurora the benefit of the doubt here.

Not to mention Jeff said the challenge was still on and told them to keep going. Aurora did nothing wrong. I think the people on the bench (especially Julie) made more a deal of it than it was.

This tribal council is the reason I love this show.

This season actually been pretty good for the most part I think, hope it continues.

Also, Rick Devens.

Victoria or Rick for me, Lauren not too far behind.

And of course Aubry and Reem for the extinction island comebacks

Seen a lot of people saying that people will forgive production handing Ben the win if Devens win this.

Personally, while I can see it, I think Devens has just been making the best of a pretty bad situation, much like Ben.

Was also getting really pissed at ppl being super emotional at the end of reward challenge, almost making the winner feel guilty, it's a frigging competition and you're going to see your family in a few weeks ffs.  Devens was the only one who was like whatever, see you at home.

I heard some things about somewhat of a controversial ending and this is nothing but mere speculation on my part given how things are going but I wonder if Devens actually gets voted out and returns again, and then maybe goes on to win from there... now that would be interesting.

But yeah, I think it's gonna be Victoria or Lauren if not Devens.

He has to win, and it would be a travesty if he didn't

The remaining players have done nothing compared to what he's been doing

Finale next week should be good!

It almost seems too obvious, but it’s kinda like Mike and Ben esque in the way this is panning out.

I love Devens though, fantastic character. It is pretty amazing they’re just letting him run around and yet still complain that he has to go. And yeah, maybe it was actually the three (Lauren, Gavin and Vic) behind the vote but the jury doesn’t know that, they’re just sitting there enjoying the show Devens is putting on.

I'm not really sure how I feel about that result

I guess this particular format meant that this was a possibility, and Chris did as much as he possibly could within the short time he was given, but I just can't help but feel that that's not a 1M worthy performance

Only 1 person actually deserved the win, and once he was taken out the 3 choices were all meh

Not thrilled to be seeing Sandra again next season either

Sorry to skip over the s38 finale and s39 completely but...

http://insidesurvivor.com/cast/survivor-season-40-cast-revealed

Ethan and Amber are huge surprises. Danni and Yul and most of the big name winners (no Hatch but I guess the way he went out in all stars would be too controversial in this day and age) are good to see, too many recent winners though - we didn’t need Ben and Wendell and Nick and Adam, 2 of them max would have sufficed and would have much preferred to see instead Todd and Earl, hell even Fabio would’ve been better. Tom and Brian would’ve been interesting as well but obviously health issues for Tom I believe and Brian will never live down what he did.

Can’t complain about the women picked though, pretty perfect selections - not like they had much room to wriggle of course, as the female winners not selected were Tina (who has played enough already and is pretty old), Vee (who nobody really wants to see), Jenna (legal and drug troubles?), and Natalie (worst winner of all time)

Avoided the thread till now. Just watched the finale tonight, taped from yesterday... figured NZ was a bit behind and didn't want spoilers.
Shame Devens didn't win. Was awesome. Loved the tribal where all 5 thought they'd be safe.
Chris did the right thing when he came back... deserved the win out of the final 3.
Good season...Deven's made it good.

Overall this season was dissapointing. Was too many idols, and the next season doesn't look like it'll be any better in that regard. After season 40 they need a 'Survivor - Back to Basics' season, where they strip it back a bit, 2-3 hidden immunity idols for the entire season and more character development. There was not one true 'villain' in this season, the early seasons were full of character development, villains and heroes. Villains are fantastic to watch.
