Title: Sportsdeck NBA 2018/2019
Post by: fanTCfool on September 17, 2018, 11:26:09 PM
You know the drill,

https://sportsdeck.com/au/nba/dreamteam#/lobby

'FF NBA RDTers' - League Code: 615136
has 20 spots to be filled.

So... who's worth picking?

Considering I nailed the Mitchell and Brooks picks last year :P I should go with my heart

Greek Freak, Sexton (Young)
Harden, Doncic (Khyri Thomas)
Hayward, Mikal Bridges (KBD)
KD, JJJ (Spellman)
AD (Carter)
2.6mil left

Haven’t checked injuries or schedule, but was happy with this. Small forward rookies are gonna be tough

Just came on to post!  Will be much more difficult to pick a team this season which means much different lineups which is a good thing!  Doncic, Sexton, Young will be rookie priced locks, maybes: Fultz, Knox, Bagley.  Hayward will be popular, not sure how it works as there are so many mouths to feed in Boston, could be a dud pick.

My team taking into account schedule.

Simmons, Sexton (Young)
Lin, Doncic (Fultz)
Embiid (Ayton)
Kawhi, Hayward (Osman)
KD, Love (Knox)

my bench is trash and will need to fix that up but paid way too much for guns.

PG: Doncic, Sexton (Young)
SG: Harden, Fultz (2.3 mil)
C: Ayton (2.3 mil)
SF: Kawhi, Antentokoumpo (Knox)
PF: Davis, KD (2.3 mil)

So tempted to run with 3 rookie PG’s just couldn’t find any decent SG’s beside Harden

Schedule isn't overly friendly for some of the studs, Lebron, AD, Giannis all only play 2 games in the first week, Harden, Jokic, Westbrook play 2 in the second week...not sure if they would be combining these weeks though?

I had a quick glance at the RDT schedule and they aren't combining any of the early weeks.

Yeah I eventually found it too. Wish they fronted up some sort of prize. :/

Code for NBL RDT in the NBL thread if anyone is interested, I find it more enjoyable than the NBA version.

How's everyones team looking?  Feeling ok with mine, but a bit wary of not having Harden and Greek Freak, will have to hope my bench players make some coin.

PG: Simmons, Sexton (Young)
SG: Lavine, Doncic (Fultz)
C: Embiid (Ayton)
SF: Kawhi, Gallo/Tobias (Osman)
PF: KD, Love (Knox)

PG: Simmons, Sexton (Rose/Young)
SG: Russell, Fultz (Doncic)
C: KAT/Embied (Ayton)
SF: Kawhi, Tobias (Osman)
PF: KD, Love (Knox)

Going against mid pricers this year as it hasn't worked the past two years. Current team is...

Curry, T. Young (Forbes)
Harden, Doncic (L. Thomas)
Davis (Ayton)
KD, Knox (Osman)
Love, Baguley (JJJ)

Am I insane for starting 4 rookies with 5 of the best scorers in fantasy?

Do you think I should go with 1 less rookie on court? I'm worried 4 is too many.

I think 4 is okay but only if you have the 'reliable' ones on the court like Doncic, Ayton, and even Young, with another one on too, that's what I'm rolling with.

The only one I'm worried about is Knox. I think Doncic, Young and Baguley are safe to start surely? Maybe I should ditch Love, swing AD to forward and play Ayton.

You could do that too.  Check the fixtures too, not entirely sure, but I think a lot of those studs I've left out of my team for now with week 1/2 scheduling being the reason.

I've got something up my sleeve, but don't want to reveal my tactics until we are safely locked away, think it could make or break my season.  :P

There are some good players around that price point.  Turner burned me last year with his first game concussion which led to him losing minutes to Sabonis who puts up good numbers per minute.  High risk, medium reward in my opinion.

Other guys to consider around his price point give or take: Rondae, Portis (no Markinnan to start the season), Favours, Millsap, Mirotic, Randle, Tobias all great options, not all will fire, but all would be considered slightly underpriced.

How did everyone roll into the first round of the season?  My team locked and loaded.

PG: Simmons (39), Young (Rose)
SG: Russell, Doncic (Fultz (3))
C: Embiid (46) (Ayton)
SF: Kawhi, Tobias (Osman)
PF: KD (29), Love (Bagley)

Harden (C), Doncic (L. Thomas)
Ayton (D. Jones, 20)
Kawhi, Gallinari (Osman)
AD, KD (29) (Knox)

Yeah, Embiid captain. Needed a PG around that price point, had Lavine but didn't like what I saw in pre season. I like Russell, capable of big numbers and looking at him as a stepping stone.

Not sure, don't really want to risk it though, to pull him from the game so early seemed suss, had neck problems in pre season, now back problems...

Trades:

Simmons -> Westbrook
Tobias -> Blake
Bagley -> Robinson (cashing in aggressively)

Will somehow find a way to bring in Steph and AD next week.

Only consolation is my opponent has him also.

Ruled out Wednesday
November 6, 2018
Westbrook (ankle) won't play Wednesday against Cleveland, Royce Young of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
After appearing to suffer a significant injury during Monday's contest, he's been diagnosed with a sprained ankle, which is relatively good news for the Thunder. He'll be sidelined for Oklahoma City's next game, but a timeline for his return beyond Wednesday hasn't been released just yet. Westbrook will travel with the team to Cleveland and will be evaluated on a day-to-day basis.

Trades a bit harder this week...noone I don't have has a good schedule, my benchies are still on the lower end of price too.  First trade is Simmons to Kawhi, not sure what after that?

PG: Freak, Sexton (White)
SG: Harden, Lavine (Bridges)
C: Ayton (Robinson)
SF: Kawhi, Derozen (Cedi)
PF: AD, Thompson (Collins)

Any ideas?  Any money making prospects? Thinking Knox might be the go for Cedi or Collins, will make me an extra mill.

I can understand sitting them down for a while but giving Fox 6 minutes and that's it seems a little over the top. One of the most improved in the NBA from what i have read about Fox. I don't really care my team is so rooted this season, ive made so many bad decisions this year already, shall carry on though. Think the Eliminator starts soon?

Eliminator started this week .. thinking nice fresh start to a really bad season.

Lebron captain, played every game last season and every game so far this season and does his groin half way through the first game  :D

I don't know ? Should be the top 2048 ranked teams, maybe it's a glitch and will be fixed up later?

@jvalles - Irving vs Hield  lol

Good choice, i looked at Irving several times. Would have been a draw before we even started the round.

Lol, almost identical teams.  What would the comp more interesting is if bench scores were counted as half scores.

Yeah it needs something, bench needs to work better, never had a benchy or a vice captain actually play.

What trades are we looking at for the upcoming week, no real standout schedules.  For me Doncic has to go with 2 games, would really like to keep my studs with 3 games or above, but want AD this week to get ready for his baller schedule, so Giannis, Jokic, Harden or Westbrook will have to go.  Vuc is playing well still so might keep him for now.  Ayton has 2 x 4 week games so he can stay too, as can Derozen.

Personally I'm done with NBA RDT, just consumes more time for no payoff, no prize and NBA players today just rest towards the end of the season so the whole thing just fizzles out.

Bit of fun to kill some time waiting for AF/RDT to start .. i lose interest though towards the end, no prize money doesn't help. $100 would be better than nothing.

Moneyball and Drafstars is much more fun, so that tides me over till AFL starts.  NBA RDT is force of habit, so killing that one dead!
