Pretty shower announcement I have to make lads

I'm probably going to be calling it an end on the reserves comp due to a huge lack of time. Probably getting a job soon enough and even without one I'm pressed for time to do ASC (holiday excluded), I'm just a busy guy that's all aha between the missus and the lads and playing sport and all that crap (nobody look at how much I'm on the playstation btw). And it doesn't help that right now I'm two weeks behind in ressies scores because of my holiday!

Of course I'll still be committed to doing the main comp scores and ladders and managing it all but I bit off a bit more than I could chew with doing ressies (it was easier last year with Nige as a co-scorer).

I'll get the current comp ladder out pronto; guess we'll just have to leave the Coyotes as our sole reserves premiers, and the Harlem Naggers* as our 2018 titleists (*lead the ladder and scorers after four rounds, obviously not a true premiership)

I was always going to win it anyway Jukes...

All good man, Ressies just demolishes time and effort for a little bit of bragging rights. It's hard to balance everything at times.

Is it worth naming a reserves side regardless? In case the results are calculated at a less busy time?
Additionally, I don't think it would be a big ask to have each coach tally up their reserves score for the week to keep it alive.

It's 10 scores, how long can it take?

It would be a fair bit easier but I don’t expect anybody to do that seeing as it’s just a secondary leisure comp that doesn’t really impact much outside of itself, I definitely appreciated the 4-5 coaches who named their sides a week and it took ages to go through the other lists to find ten guys (where possible) but I know I’m very busy and I know other guys (like ele) are even busier than me so I wouldn’t expect it at all, better to just focus on our main comp where having depth is rewarded even more than good ressies scores - e.g. I’ve lost a bunch of players through injury so I’ve had to resort to playing spuds like Jed Anderson, Honeychurch, Jake Kelly, Cory Gregson, etc.

It saves me having to add up another ladder too aha, and having to remember the reserves team name for every team when I’m posting their scores!

I’d say it’s on hold for now but if my missus leaves me and my mates all drop dead (or the other way around) and I get a lot more time available I wouldn’t say no to a return in this form or another

Damn Deledio - Three scrub scores to start the season when my team is mostly together (44 90 56) then three great scores when half my team is missing so I lose anyway (115 153 111), after nothing last year, then one of my guns (Adams) finally comes back in and Lids goes out :/ getting Betts, Pittard and the aforementioned Adams back this week at least! And Jakey Kelly!

Colorado Avalanche 15.10.100 lost to Houston Bombers 16.13.109
(Real: 1506 vs 1640)

The Bombers weren't amazing, but they were good enough to get the win on the road. Scores in the 20s by Hill (injured) and Howe (scrub) didn't help but a great consistency down back and up forward (low score of 82 between the two lines) lead by Kane Lambert's 120 did the job. Colorado weren't too horrible but just a few 30s and not enough high scorers wasn't going to get them over the line, but their ruck duo of Witts and Hickey were very nice.

Best
Colorado: Witts, Hickey
Houston: Lambert, Greenwood, Beams, Robinson

Quito Quetzals 19.9.123 defeated Ottawa Otters 19.8.122
(Real: 1838 vs 1825)

Ridiculously high-scoring and entertaining game between two of our lower-ranked sides. Star players all over the ground for both teams with plenty of consistency - Phillips (131) as sub probably won it for the Quetzals, as did HGA (54), while McLean (146) as CC was huge for Ottawa. It's a real shame these scores went up against each other rather than up against top six teams!

Best
Quito: Curnow, Phillips, Higgins, Ross, Houston
Ottawa: McLean, Graham, Hogan, Treloar, Webster

Las Vegas Sinners 17.12.114 lost to Anaheim Mighty Ducks 18.10.118
(Real: 1703 vs 1769)

kb's math actually checks out in a solid win by the Ducks, as the Sinners continue to show their boom-or-bust capabilities.

Best
Las Vegas: Fyfe, Mitchell, De Goey, Jones
Anaheim: Sandilands, Bellchambers, Dangerfield, Heppell

Wisconsin Cockerels 20.9.129 defeated New Brooklyn Hawks 17.8.110
(Real: 1935 vs 1643)

A team (NBH) does significantly worse the week after beating me - should I really be surprised? Other than that, hard not to lose when your CC goes 189 (Macrae) and you have another 160 in Zorko - but the Wisconsin back and forward lines might need some help for when they don't have a few outlier scores going their way.

Best
Wisconsin: Macrae, Zorko, Duncan, Dunstan, O'Meara
New Brooklyn: Crouch, Taylor

Carolina Panthers 15.12.102 lost to Chicago Sharks 17.13.115
(Real: 1537 vs 1725)

Another week, another very poor showing by our reigning premiers - they're just looking lost out there without Kelly and Bontempelli to lead the way, with captain Dusty not looking too hot at all. JPK was huge for Chicago, while Sicily and Oliver were also great.

Best
Carolina: Kelly, Roughead, Grundy
Chicago: Kennedy, Sicily, Oliver, Sinclair, Yeo, Gaff, Hurn

San Francisco Grizzlies 17.13.115 lost to Boston Terriers 19.6.120
(Real: 1728 vs 1800)

The bad luck continues! Coniglio and Wines put in dreadful CC performances and that's probably what was the difference, I wish I could get outlier 180s as CC...but when Richard Douglas is your best scorer maybe you don't deserve to win (or maybe you should have captained Dougy).

Best
San Francisco: Douglas, Hunter, Martin, Hawkins
Boston: Selwood, Redden, Neale, Laird, Gray, Thomas, Dahlhaus
