The other question is are the super studs worth the money this year as they have got help in the off season. Harden, Westbrook, Davis all have high price tags.

I can't see Fultz getting the ball enough in his hands to be more than a bench option. It's only pre-season but watch Ben's first quarter and they give him the ball at every opportunity. That is also without JoJo and The Homie out there.

Was thinking the same thing... Brett Brown has said he's a fair bit behind Simmons in his development too.
Seems noone is really wanting to discuss much till teams are locked in which is fair as there are quite a lot of options and different ways you can go. I do think though we can help each other with our bench spots which are crucial and moving forward and upgrading our teams asap. Will go through a few thoughts below for each position. It will be crucial trying to pick the players that will come out strong from the start, we all know what it's like having a slow burn on the bench. Ideally we would want 5 bench players who come out strong and then trade them to 5 who will gain playing time as the year goes on.
PG - Dennis Smith, Lonzo Ball, Ben Simmons, Markelle Fultz, Jerian Grant, Justin Holiday. Personally I think Smith is the out and out fave for the PG bench spot, could even play him as your 2nd PG and spend the cash elsewhere, putting Lonzo on the bench. Simmons is your hands down best player here, but would take him at the PF spot instead.
SG - Fultz, Ingles, Teodisic, Jaylen Brown. Fultz has been locked into this spot, but not so sure any more. Guy will have his good games and his bad games, and he's def not eating first on that team. Ingles could be value, and will Teodisic get the starting job over Beverly? Brown got some solid run late last year on a finals bound team, can he keep that up?
SF - Tatum, Prince, Oubre, Powell. Prince is who I'm going with here, but all the others I've mentioned are just as well to succeed. Love Tatum and looks like he's going to get run, but will it be early?
PF - Chriss, Tatum, Simmons, Kuzma. Simmons hands down, but the others will be good too. Kuzma could be a steal.
C - Marjanovic, Baynes. These are my top 2 options at the 5, just don't know who I'm going to roll with. Baynes should start in a deep team. Marjanovic will back up Drummond. Tough call, and it's a coin toss to me.
Have definitely left out some players, so feel free to add your thoughts.

In all honestly SG is the toughest position for me to fill, so much value for the bench as well as on court, but do I pass on guys like Harden? I'd prefer to take flyers on 2 of guys like Middleton, Hood, Lamb, Richardson and Hardaway. SG is such a tough spot because after a guy like Harden and a few others there is a steep drop off and this has been the case for years. You'd have Harden, Wade and Kobe in the top bracket, then it would drop off to guys like Wes Matthews.
As TomK has said, I've looked at both Jackson and Collins in those positions and both should be good, Jackson I think will take a while to come on, but not Warren has concussion...again so might be safer now.
I personally have Tatum in the PF bench spot, he contributes across the board and looks to get some run in multiple positions. His D is solid too.

Options I like and think you can consider:
John Wall - Best player on his team. Will always have the ball in his hand.
Kyrie Irving - Same as Wall. New team and he is still relatively unknown as to what he could do without Lebron.
Kris Dunn - Probably will start for the Bulls. The 3.2mil price tag might be a bit much though with guys like Simmons, Tedosic, Ball around.
Johnathon Simmons - He was great in the place of Kawhi last year at the Spurs. Will be a locked in starter for the Magic and is a good price and potential keeper on the bench at SG.
Thon Maker - 2.45mil so he is cheap as! Decent bench C/PF option. Could go huge if he gets a chance to start.
Brandon Ingram - 4.37mil so is reasonably pricey but he looks much better than he did last year and looks like he will score a lot more points. I'd expect him to be the go-to guy for the Lakers.
Chandler Parsons - Injury risk galore. But he has shown glimpses of greatness in the past and could be worth a gamble at only 2.86mil.
I've currently got Kyrie in my side, but not sure what to expect.
Kris Dunn dislocated his finger and is out for 2-4 weeks so will miss the start of the season, also I dunno if Simmons will start over Fournier or Ross, both have been the starters in all of their pre-season matches so far with Simmons coming off the bench.
I like all the rest, I probably won't be risking any though.
I had Parsons in my team. They were saying he is never going to be the player he was but he has spent all off-season getting his body to a point he will contribute. I ended up bringing Bron into my starting SF spot and have Josh Jackson on the bench instead.

Wall, Hardaway and Jokic are playing 2 in the first week so yes that will hurt a little, but their fixtures after that are good so I'm not sure it's worth changing those players based off only having 2 games in the first week. No one plays 4 games in week 1 so that's a good thing.
One thing I did learn from last season is you need bench guys playing on the reg, so I've gone a different approach this year and picked more expensive guys on the bench. Having duds worth 2 mil making no money really hurts down the track.

Problem this year is there are tonnes of super cheap guy that will get plenty of time this season. Which ones though? ;) 8)
I'm left my lineup open so if a few of my players don't pan out I can move them to those 2 gamer prior to round 2 starting.

I disagree, simply gives you more cash for other lines. You'll still have the same number of rookies and premos once you use the cash and upgrade a rookie elsewhere.

He is going to play minutes in the teens early because he is not in game shape. The thing is Embiid can put up 25 points in that amount of time because he is a freak. He is 100% healthy.

Tatum was a lock on my PF bench, ended up going Simmons from Orlando over Jaylen though.

Yeah but the point is no one did extraordinary in that game and he has 2 more games to get massive scores. He has a history of high TO's. Can't really know until you see what your other captain choice options score. It could've been way worse considering his start.
Current scores? I'm on 262 and also went KD captain over Giannis. Originally had AD as captain, but traded him out to KD due to his run of 4 game weeks coming up. So far the only pick I'm unhappy with is Rodney Hood, but seems like there was some sort of illness/injury as he was meant to start and ended up being in the locker room for some time before playing.

Alright let me break down week 1 for my team for you guys:
Played DSJ over Lonzo - loss of 39 points
Played Hardaway over Jaylen brown - loss of 45 points
Played Jokic over Kuzma - loss of 23 points
Captained KD over Giannis - loss of 52 points
Overall I lost 159 points and overall scored 607 hahahahahahaha
Add in the fact I picked Nurkic at the last minute over Tobias Harris and it was the worst week I've ever had in NBA DT.
The only positive thing is my bench looks like it will make a lot of money with DSJ/Ball, Brown, Tatum and Kuzma scoring really well in week 1. Gotta rid myself of Maker I think, though.
FML, had one player on each line only play 1 game. Smith, Hood, Turner and Gordon...finished with 622. >:(

I agree for the most part, but Kyrie, Whiteside, KAT have all had four games and flopped over the last couple of weeks. When guys like AD and other super-premos have 4 I'd be going with them but in other weeks a seemingly reliable 100+ is a pretty good option to play it safe. Bit of classic risk and reward I suppose.
Looking at getting GA back why I traded him looks stupid now. Probably also gonna get Durant and maybe Wiggins. Then KAT the week after. Got money to spend. But struggling for 750 hope I don't full out of top 10

Also, re Tatum - top 10 of point per dollar spent. Has been worth the ride.
Hardest thing in this format is to find 'cash cows'.
Downgrading to a rookie is almost impossible unless injuries really throw someone into a different role.

My team value is higher than the team in third which means i got most of my rookie choices right and am chasing money right, but the downgrades are key, or occasionally taking 2 x mid rangers over 1 high and one rookie

I wouldn't be rushing to get Harden, pretty sure he has a couple of 2 game weeks in the not so distant future. Giannis definitely worth getting though - his fixtures are so consistent.

Trades are tough this week.
Completely stitched myself up this week, traded out Oladipo due to injury concerns, and then when he was cleared to play on Monday I panicked and reversed my trades. You can already see where this is going, I ended up making the same trades but my captaincy swapped from LeBron to AD due to the reverse, and the 90 odd point turnaround is absolutely killing me. I never make that mistake.
