Getting this posted now so people can have a fair idea for discussing trades and all that of where they sit in the draft order.
Draft will be over 4 rounds but you must have vacancies available on your list to gain all selections. You will have the option of passing on picks to take advantage of the Rookie Draft if you desire. Just advise accordingly.
Coaches have 24 hours offline, or 2 hours online in which to make their selections, after the previous selection is made. This will be enforced by the league administrator and discretion can be used where appropriate.
As a courtesy coaches should PM the next coach on the list after they have picked. If you are passing on a pick, please advise in thread and then PM the next coach.
Picks which are red with a line through them means you are either passing on that pick, or you don't have the space on your list to use it.

Draft is now open.
Remember the rules 24hrs to pick or 2hrs on line. Remember to PM next coach on the list.
So over to LF for picks 1,2,3
Also note that Huddersfield Hawks still will retain pick 9 as they had a vacancy on their list after trading and prior to de-listing. All other picks for Huddersfield will be taken at conclusion of drafts.
Still sorting Rookie Draft but hopefully will be done soon.
Ok so I'm going to drag these into 3 separate posts because I can :P
First up Jack Higgins
Luke Davis-Uniacke
And lastly I shall pick Cam Rayner
Believe me I mulled over these 3 picks for awhile, had Rayner and LDU locked in,only really decided on the last one last week
Not too confident on this... But too hard to look away from him
Paddy Dow
I genuinely struggled with this pick for so long and I'm still not even sure.
Liverpool welcomes Hunter Clark.
Didn't expect a couple of guys we had ranked top 3 to slide to pick 6. Just waiting on a reply to Nostra to work out which one we take.
Will pick shortly
Absolutely stunned this guy is still available. Grope Lane select Adam Cerra with pick 6.
Message sent.
Thank Grope Lane as it made my decision easy - Angus Brayshaw welcome to the Breakers.
We await GL return.

We now own him in 3 comps which is crazy really. Would have gone number 1 in the draft if he played a full season.
In my opinion, the best midfielder in the draft.

***** doesn't accumulate like Cerra and is messy. There is a reason why he went in the 40's playing a full season and Cerra went top 5 playing 8 games of footy.

Struggling to pick between a few. Won’t be long.
This draft is going to take forever if people don't pick when they are online. So when is the 2 hours up for Koop?

Lol no I wasn’t, I woke up 5-10 minutes before that to get ready for work. Cool your jets mate. I’m hardly the worst offender and it’s been a very very busy couple of days with the cricket. Other people have things on too.
Anyway, Nick Coffield thanks.

Yes you were. I was sitting online updating AXV and looked. Anyways, pick has been made now. It just drives me nuts when people use the 2 hours to make picks with no thought to others who have limited time to log in and check etc. You are not the only person who is flat chat atm. Work, selling a house, heavily pregnant partner coupled with doctor appointments etc. I am sorry to hear how busy you have been at the cricket but a little thought for others wouldnt hurt.
Rant over!
mate it's December calm ur farm
Lol & the inference I deliberately took those 2 hours to piss people off when I’ve been one of the quickest drafters everywhere is incredulous. I was called in earlier than expected and couldn’t get to my phone for an hour and a half or so. Not everyone has a government office job where they can sit there & do FF shower at work.
Stop having a sook because we’re not up to Pick 35 yet. We’ll get this done quickly anyway, everyone’s quick.

I am allowed to express my opinion just like anyone else. No need for name calling. Pull your head in and stop making excuses all the time. People would 100% be fine if you posted that you had been called into work and the pick will be delayed. But instead you wrote you were having problems selecting then logged off for an hour and a half. No need to lie now to cover.
I hardly say a thing about this but I will if I believe the person and pick in question is delaying for all the wrong reasons. The 2hr rule was not brought in for people to do what happened this morning.
Anyways move on. As always we will take our pick within 20 mins as we have always done so the draft keeps moving along.

Saw the team lists submission thread after posting this, which made things slightly easier :P
Vin's 24 hours are up. iZander told me he has a list from Vin, but only gave me the last name, so I'm waiting for the first name just to make sure i post the right guy :p
Vin selects Darcy Fogarty
I'll PM Torp now
He's had two Knee Recos and still got drafted first round so I rate him enough to take him at 12, Aiden Bonar
At 13, the GOAT;
James Worpel
Lochie O'Brien
Steins take: Zac Bailey
Rusty PM'd
Werewolves Pick 16: Charlie Constable
Ringo PM'd
Seeing this guy has a Def/Fwd DPP will take Jarrod Brander
Hawka PM'd
The Leeches select
Aaron naughton
Maaan, tough pick because the other guys I want probably won't get to my next picks.
I'm gonna grab Brayden Ainsworth.
Well, I wanted one Fogarty and end up with the other, whom I rate highly also,
Lachlan Fogarty
Gee decisions getting harder but will take Patrick Naish.
This is my last Nat pick so I'm going with Dylan Moore
Callum Coleman-Jones
Ed Richards
Manchester take young WCE Mid/Forward Oscar Allen
Hmm, tough choices here.
Pick 26 will be Charlie Spargo.
And for pick 27, Hamish Brayshaw.
Just a note here with Garlett, O'Shea and Barry having been de-listed last year and picked up this year we have no rules regarding this.
So what we are proposing is that they are all free agents this year and we will look at rule for the following year. Please feel free to disagree.

Yes O'Shea will be in Rookie Draft. It is somewhat unique with UF not allowing non listed players and then they get re-listed in drafts so we need to look at for future.

That is actually incorrect. UF will refresh and update with the 2018 data usually Jan/Feb. Then you will be able to manually allocate players directly to their teams. It is why I leave all UF changes until the new seasons data is there otherwise you tend to double and triple the workload.

Just a note here with Garlett, O'Shea and Barry having been de-listed last year and picked up this year we have no rules regarding this.
So what we are proposing is that they are all free agents this year and we will look at rule for the following year. Please feel free to disagree.
O'Shea is different to the other 2 as he was picked up in the Preseason Draft and should only be available in the BXV Rookie Draft.
Correct, i believe this is already the case.

So you can allocate players not on an AFL list early next year?
Also, could coaches please advise if they will be passing on any picks in advance (if possible), just to make things run a bit smoother :)
The list availabilities in the 3rd post of this thread should be accurate pre-draft, so you should know how many picks you have left to take, including the rookie draft.

As soon as the database has been refreshed O'Shea, Garlett and Barry will be there to be allocated. Last couple of years I think it has happened on Feb 1st.
The key is having all the team lists up to date (either on the fanfooty forum or in a spreadsheet) then re-create the league and manually adjust the teams.

No I mean, let's go back to last year, where O'Shea was delisted. We weren't able to put him on a list in UF (or so we thought), and so he was a forced delisting. And now he is picked up this year, obviously he can be put on a list now, but what Ringo was saying is that due to the forced delisting last year, we should have a rule in place in case people want these returning players to be a part of a bidding process or some thing like that, or just handle it as we are this year.

I think you guys are over complicating and over thinking it.
1. If a player is delisted/retired from a club then they should be removed from a list for the years they are not playing
2. If the player is then picked up after 12 months by another club then this is where we want to discuss. Why you would want to put them on a list again before the actual season begins does not make sense.
If a bidding process is to be used then just introduce it on here. People know who has been given another lifeline after the drafts. It would take 5 minutes to see where they were last delisted from here.
There really is no need for UF to be involved until the allocation of players to teams for the upcoming season.

I think you just completely misunderstood what Ringo was saying :P
Because of the forced delistings (which you mentioned in point 1), then what do we want to do about point 2.

We seem to be saying the exact same thing, just a misunderstanding haha
Anyway, it's KB's pick :P
What I was saying is that any player not on a list in 2017 will not be able to be added until the player database has been refreshed with the 2018 data on UF. I am not sure why you would want to add an O'Shea or Barry back to a list and not the other guys that were drafted.

We didn't say we wanted to put them on someone's list straight away? We were just discussing a rule for when delisted players are re-drafted over a year later. We always add in the drafted players early in the next year when UF is up and running again with the updated player lists.
Ok. Ringo did mention doing it in UF -

All good. We move on.
