Ranked 2446 which is 1243 points off 1st.
This means I would need to make up 113 points each week on the top teams. I think this might be possible if it was against 1 team but I would also have to make ground on all other 2000+ teams as well.
How far off top (points wise) do you think is too far off to go for overall?
Dont give up, keep going
You're only 890 off 10th, which is also in the money and doable...
I say this as I am 889 behind the leader myself, and would like to cling onto my slim hopes. Need some PODs that hit the jackpot from here though
After this last round of byes I fear you'd need to be in the Top 10 or so to actually have a chance of coming first
The leaders are in a good spot unfortunately for the rest of us
Either way, keep plugging away!
I'm 1100 odd atm and id say my absolute best case scenario is Top 100. Let's just hope those up top run out of trades :P
My mistake a couple weeks ago coming 4000th, was when Sandilands was out I didn't trade him to Grundy and chose to play with 17 for some unknown reason. Lost 100 points right there, and then Grundy backed it up with 117.... Live and learn, if I win my cash league instead and win $1200 it will be worth it I guess. Sitting on top by 2 games.
Im currently 169 and chasing them. Im 733 points away from 1st and 380 points off 10th

Go man go.
Im just happy because i had a few off weeks and went from 17k rnd 10 to 14k rnd 11 to 9k rnd 12 :D
626th but 951 from lead. Big ask as very few POD's now
I think 50 points per game remaining is enough to catch up with a couple of PODs + captain choices going you way.
I'm ranked 274 and 818 points from #1. A couple of weeks ago I was 1,900 for the round and #1 still went 50 points further in front... Good news is I'm only 154 from top 100 and would love to finish up in there.
I'm 528 points off first and 235 off 5th.
So 50 points per week gets it done but jeez it'll be tough.
I'm now 800 off top 10 and 1300 off top spot :-X
I'm gunning for top 500, of which I'm about 225 short, fairly achievable I think, given my trades and team setup :D
987 away. Happy with that. Ambitious goal of top 100 will need a couple of albatrosses.
I have quite a few of the higher ceiling players so fingers crossed.
I reckon you need to be in the top 39 now to stand a chance

I see what you did there ;)
214th overall and i have no chance. Learn and live. Some mistakes listed below.
Took B.Eddy instead of Hoskin Elliot= This was the last decision i made pre rd 1.
Hickey was my POD ruckman was going Witts. went to Witts later but cost me trade and pts.
Salem, chasing his 139pts a particular rd cost me big time.
D.Swallow generated a little cash. Should never of traded him in. Went to J.Kelly and cashed in nicely.
Brang in H.Shaw at a great price, and got burnt, still feeling the pain.
Taylor Adams, long story, traded out during bye rds then got him back. Dockerty was thier for the taking, say no more.
To take the whole thing, requires little or no mistakes.

... And a bit of luck, let's be honest. Look at the top scoring players in each position at this point, and tell me how many of them you/we would have picked at the start as being there. A few were easy, like Danger and Doch, and I think a couple were pretty well-educated punts (Titch, Macrae). But would I have picked Zork as a top 4 mid? No. Would I have picked Pendles and Jelwood to not be in the top 20? No. Would I have picked Yeo as the top fwd? No. There are a lot of those sorts of calls which are impossible to predict at the outset...
I'm 33rd now, and 900+ points from first but only 160 points from 10th.
With the current carnage there are still plenty of chances to bridge even the Top players lead significantly in 3 weeks. You see it every year, they always burn trades too early keeping their lead.
*coughs* Holzman's Heroes *coughs*

Cant really say too early if thats how they get their top rankings. The person who wins i reckon is out of trades early every year.
By the way when i came 3rd i actually wasnt high ranked till the end i came home strong.
Reckon it was the year after you had a crack at 5 or 6 weeks at the end of the year without a trade left, am I remembering that right?

I was probably in a similar position to you are now so a crack at a good ranking but no shot at winning. The year before I was probably 300 points out at this time of the year, with no trades left.
I think what I'm thinking of is the time you were chasing down the guy in first, maybe he had no trades.

Have fallen ever since i posted this, now 3517
I didn't actually move spots last week, stayed at 17th. But I did bridge the gap to 10th by around 80 points.
Big weekend ahead.
