Battle of the bottom this week between Quito and Las Vegas, whoever loses this one will be the only team without a win.
Oi no spoiling my match previews! :P
So here are the previews!
In our first game two 1-2 teams clash looking to get back to an even-record - the Sharks, coming off a big loss, and the Avalanche, who had a nailbiting win - but the Sharks scored more in round 3 if you exclude HGA. You'd back the sharks to win at home here, while both reserves sides will hope to get the win as they sit in the bottom six.
The second match should be a formality for the Terriers - surely they won't drop the points at home against the Hawks, but at least they're playing better than their AFL namesakes, as they had a medium-level score in a big loss against the Grizzlies last week. Never say never, but it should be blowout wins for Boston and Harlem.
In probably our match of the round, the Grizzlies (1-2, 364 points scored for the season) host the Ducks (2-1, 362 points scored). If this was played in round 3 the Grizzlies would have walked out 19-point winners, but something tells me that won't be the case again (unless at least Pittard and Steven recover from injuries) and it'll be a tight one - unlike the reserves, where surely Stanford will get back to winning ways?
This one could get ugly - the high-flying Carolina (138 and 127 points the last fortnight) host the Otters, who couldn't capitalise on Gawn's injury last week and didn't make it to triple-figures. I doubt it'll be as bad as to be a record-breaking victory (the record is 52 points!), but the Panthers will want all the percentage they can get - and you'd think the reserves match will go similarly.
On the other side, Wisconsin hosting Houston could be a great contest. Houston were great last week, and Santiago poor - both getting wins - but if you ignore the round 3 outlier these teams are pretty equal. Gawn's injury and exclusion might just be the difference. In the reserves, Rio Grande have scored more points (league-leading 196 against Milwaukee's 187), but sit 7th compared to Milwaukee leading the ladder - this could be another great contest.
In the final game of the week, we see our only two winless teams take each other on - Las Vegas and Quito. The Sinners have scored 32 more points this season than the Quetzals, but Quito scored more in round 3 so it could be close. Home ground advantage might even be the difference, like in Quito's game last week. In the reserves, Nevada Desert sit tied for top unbeaten, while Galapagos are third-last. You'd expect the Coyotes to look for a percentage booster and maybe take top spot.
Quito's scores are building, I'm hopeful. I also won't be dropping captaincy on Higgo this week so watch him explode ::)
(C) choice and Colyer and Fantasia playing in the wet hurt me last week
and we got 3 away games in a row :o

Joel and Scott Selwood were down in Big W in the Westfield near my work for a book signing (I popped in to buy a charger during lunch and came across them).
Also, Jukes is suspended for a week so people have notice in regards to America's and XV so if somebody can pop in a message there that'd be helpful please.

I apologise to Jay in advance, I'm taking the VC loophole on Shuey to make up for the lack of a ruck. I know it's frowned upon, but my depleted side needs every chance it can get. :-\

And we, at Ottawa, are very happy about that. 8)
Bit of a mixed bag in terms of scoring for Quito this week, but some monsters from Rich and of course Tommy J
Carolina Panthers 20.7.127 defeated Ottawa Otters 15.10.100
(Real: 1903 vs 1499)
Another week another win for the rampaging Panthers, as not even a horrible score by captain Dusty could stop them.
Best
Carolina: Mumford, Roberton, Menegola, Bontempelli, Kennedy, Grundy, Shiel, Docherty
Ottawa: Grigg, Cunnington, McGovern, Prestia
Wisconsin Cockerels 17.12.114 drew with Houston Bombers 17.12.114
(Real: 1705 vs 1705)
It's a draw! It's UNBELIEVABLE but it's happened! I though Mitch Duncan had won it late for the Cockerels, but Motlop was just as good as this game goes down in the history books. The unethical choice to VC loophole Shuey worked, I guess!
Best
Wisconsin: Shuey, Duncan, Zorko, Kennedy, Macrae
Houston: Sloane, Motlop, Riewoldt, Adams
Las Vegas Sinners 19.10.124 defeated Quito Quetzals 18.7.115
(Real: 1862 vs 1721)
Pretty great game between the two teams on the bottom! Really feel for Quito, who gave it their all lead by Lynch and Rich who went big, but it just wasn't enough as captain Rockliff was immense for the Sinners, while Tex Walker just about matched Lynch up forward.
Best
Las Vegas: Rockliff, Walker, Fyfe
Quito: Lynch, Rich, Haynes, Reid, Ross
Reserves
Rockford Bears 8.4.52 defeated Colorado Bootleggers 6.8.44
Suffolk Terriers 8.5.53 lost to Harlem Naggers 11.7.73
Stanford Cardinal 3.6..24 lost to Birmingham Dragons 5.5.35
North Carolina Tar Heels: 8.8.56 defeated Montreal Moose 6.5.41
Milwaukee Roosters 7.9.51 lost to Rio Grande Valley Rockets 12.4.76
Nevada Desert Coyotes 7.5.47 lost to Galapagos Tortoise 7.9.51
Can I take back my support of the loophole? :P
Great game!

Can I take back my support of the loophole? :P
Great game!
Awesome match - I thought I had lost it when I saw Motlop's score. If only I had a proper ruck hahaha
I'm certain that this result is unprecedented
The fact we are still calling the loophole unethical in this day and age is a farce :P
Ah, what can you do about Rocky going bananas! Looks like we would have beaten a few sides again this week but that's the joys of a fixture, at least it's clear that the bottom sides are no easy-beats ;)
Nige's scores probably won't be up tonight as we're both pretty busy, if I find time I'll have a go at them
And so I ended up doing all of Nige's scores :P
San Francisco Grizzlies 18.10.118 defeated Anaheim Mighty Ducks 17.9.111
(Real: 1770 vs 1672)
This sure does make up for losing in the ressies! Wasn't as convincing as I'd have liked, but good enough with our two best players out and our first ever player Kieren Jack playing awfully, while also taking revenge for the finals knockout last season. Eddie Betts starred as best on ground, while the Ducks, losing by just 98 SC points, would've preferred a more Dangerfield-like score than 90 in a massive win over the hawks. Both of these teams have strong finals potential, but will need to improve their scoring to hit this potential and take the battle to other heavyweights such as Boston and Carolina.
Best
San Francisco: Betts, Martin, Goddard, Hawkins
Anaheim: Mundy, Merrett, Colyer, Hodge
Chicago Sharks 16.14.110 defeated Colorado Avalanche 16.11.107
(Real: 1651 vs 1600)
The Sharkies get home in a close one to leapfrog over the Avalanche to 2-2 and will hope this can kickstart their campaign. Yeo was a matchwinner in the middle, but they'll want Ryder back soon. Colorado really should've won this to be honest, as two horrible scores - Polec 32 and Elliott 28 - cost them dearly.
Best
Chicago: Yeo, Lobb, Oliver, Gaff
Colorado: Murphy, Scully, Hall
Boston Terriers 21.8.134 defeated New Brooklyn Hawks 16.9.105
(Real: 2010 vs 1573)
Real percentage booster here I'm afraid :/
Best
Boston: Dahlhaus, Neale, Howe, Laird, Martin, Selwood, Priddis, Gibbs
New Brooklyn: Jacobs, Brown
