Cricket Australia Fixtures: (Colour co-ordinated too!)http://forum.fanfooty.com.au/index.php/topic,107906.0.html
Starting HGA:
SA: 24
VIC: 22
NSW: 10
WA: 10
TAS: 30
ACT: 22
NT: 20
QLD: 18
So I was trying to work out why I was equal last in HGA for this comp despite being 5th on the First Class table. Now I see it, I'm I'm a group with all the strong teams! :P

Nah was your finishing position in the OD Cup which gives you the low starting point :\
Quote from: Section 9.3
- The following HGA points will be awarded for each position in the two comps: 1st - 20, 2nd - 16, 3rd - 12, 4th - 10, 5th - 8, 6th - 6, 7th - 4, 8th - 2
So 8th and 5th for you guys which equals 10 points. HGA is capped at 0 and 50 and obviously only applied when a team is at home.
Always willing to alter things for future seasons if a better method is thought of :) Maybe use the previous season of T20 instead of the OD Cup results?

Qualified for an 8 point bonus thanks to a decent strike rate, very nice debut with fielding to come.
Considering he plays for the Blues a bit, if I had a spare spot I'd have chased after him for sure.
Ben Dunk stiff not to be a keeper for Torp, especially as he's actually keeping. I'm happy for him to be classified as one for him if others don't mind.

75% for a guy who should get 100 would be annoying if I lost, but it probably won't matter. :-X

Any errors let me know :)
Possums, Cockatoos, Swans, Devils look to have the upper hand in the games at this stage. Geez the Possums look mighty strong and will be tough to beat :o
Yep, don't think we're much chance of getting up against the Possums with the Weatherman and Gibson doing so well, Dre Russ for what looks to be a bargain price won't help us out much either.
Only mistake is Patterson still has a game to play :) not sure if it will help me or not! Haha

RIP SA, Bravo gone and quite possibly done for the tournament. No Luck.
Jhye not playing sucked but the other three did fairly well to make up for it! I assume he's only replaced by Beer if he doesn't play the second game either?

Ah good, I was hoping that was the case. I want Beery on anyway and I'd say Jhye misses the next so it should work out.
No guarantee final scores will be up tonight. Reminder Round 4 starts tomorrow though!
I'd be happy to do all the scores from tonight if the scores up to this point are up to date, I'll probably be waiting up late for the fantasy site to re-open again for it to not open until 10am the next morning.

Should all be there now. Some interesting games this round. Torp and R.G might be hurt by not putting their teams in on time. R.G with the lost Narine and Cooper points, Torp by not being able to captain the logical Mitch Marsh, who'd have about 400 points alone at this points :-\
As always, any errors let me know :)
Haven't done the maths, but Torp got his wish and I think the Swans have pushed the Wombats here!
I think Tye has lead the Cockatoos over the line by a single digit margin too!
Possums and Kangaroos look like they've gotten wins as well :)
Doing the calculations in my head, the Swans passed 600 and the Wombats are stranded on 529.Torp got 373 from 3 + C tonight, that's acceptable in AFL Fantasy, let alone BBL Fantasy!

So it's all about the birds at this early stage, ACT and WA going very strong. Torp makes it 2/3 MOTW awards, beating the Possums to the award in both those weeks. It seems like we have a divide in the comp, with 2 teams in each group starring, the other 2 not quite up to scratch. The beauty of it is that there's still 3 rounds to go, and the BBL fixtures may suit different teams, and internationals are going away soon. The Cockatoos and Swans look safe now, but one poor week and they find themselves only 1 game from dropping out of the top 2. Should be exciting!

Do we get Braithwaite to replace Dre?
I'd agree to that if the Gades would hurry up and name a replacement for Bravo who we can claim.

Haha I knew that wasn't the case but thought I'd try my luck. :P
I think it's the fair thing to do for any player during the T20 trophy (obviously provided the replacement isn't already on a list which is unlikely).

If there wasn't a case this season where a player and his replacement were already on lists then I'd consider it :) (Chris Jordan is Adil Rashid's replacement)
Lynn's murdering us.
Might start updating now. By the time I finish the game will be over :)

ACT Cockatoos vs Q Koalas

So the scores are still rolling for the Swans, as they just edge past the Wombats to make it 4 from 4 and remain the only undefeated team. We say goodbye to the Koalas now who mathematically can't make it, the Wombats are hanging on by a thread and will need all 4 remaining Group A matches to go their way. The Cockatoos go down to the Devils, who were helped by captain McCullum. But the performance of the week is that of Chris Lynn (Platypuses C). 262 points went a long way to a win over the Possums, puts them back in top 2 contention and closed the % gap, which could be the decider in two rounds time. No break, Round 5 starts tomorrow with Strikers vs Hurricanes.

Not wrong. Though I fear we've had a shower one.
SA aren't interested, Chris Jordan our latest casualty. Will have a win-less tournament unfortunately.
You're all so negative! Well either Torp or Nige will be a winner so one of you will be happy enough with your team :P ftc you might be surprised, you never know, and you have the Shield to focus on as well, in with a genuine title shot there! :)
Just from looking at the teams, I think Devils vs Kangaroos is going to be a ripper
I don't mind the L's, it's just all the blown cash on injured players when someone like Clive Rose (5k) is going nicely

Sixers, Thunder Bye; No Doubles
What a round and what a difference one week makes. Lets start with Group A. Possums win TOTY with a big score, everyone contributed and it handed the Swans their first loss. In the other match, NSW got their 3rd win to get to 3-2, and set up a huge match with the Swans next round. Just plugging some numbers in, it appears that about a 155 point win for the Platypuses is required to overtake the Swans who were looking home and hosed after 4 weeks, but now their big boys have stopped scoring or have disappeared, things look shaky!
In Group B the Devils have roared (do Devils roar? idk) back into contention with high scoring victory over the Kangaroos. Both teams had ripping captain scores (Narine and Finch), and had the HGA been the other way the Kangaroos would've gotten up. Round 6 sees the Devils play the win-less Koalas, assuming they get up, then the loser of ACT vs NT will be having an early holiday, amazing to think either of those teams will be missing out on finals!
Who's keen for Round 6?!

And I've noticed that the Swans will be lucky to get 6 players on the park for this round! But the Platypuses will be without Chris Lynn, Adam Zampa, Shane Watson, Brad Haddin and Jake Doran (So no keeper!). They mgiht struggle to field a side capable of winning by 155+
NT are losing Abbott, Dwarshius, Maxwell, McKay, Ahmedbut will gain a few Scorchers back. ACT have their entire side available but it's a thin side.
Do I need to comment about the Possums? They'll be fine as usual :P
Oh shower, didn't realise we did so well haha. Good win!
Well done Nige! AND the invisible co-coach PK. :P
Not a score we were going to beat this week I'm afraid, or any future week from now. I think we will get 5-6 next week and hopefully when Badree comes back from injury and Maddo from his bye we can get a good team in for finals!

Interesting idea regarding this. In the case like what we have now, where Pk is not really fullfilling coaching duties during the BBL, and ftc is taking over from Koop, should any awards the teams get go to the stand-in coaches? Pk and Koop obviously aren't being fired (as they are away with notice or have an organised replacement) but the awards the team gets goes to the person/people that do the work?
Thoughts?

In BBL fantasy last season, a sub fielder took a catch but was awarded 0 points and their price didn't change ie. didn't count as a game, but this year Bancroft has been awarded 12 points. Interesting.

We're using scores from the official BBL fantasy game, yeah? Basically if they count it there then it counts but if they don't then it doesn't IMO. Easy :)

My guess behind Bancrofts score counting is that he is actually part of the game. Obviously if he was only a sub fielder for Whiteman he wouldn't have been allowed to keep, but he was a full concussion substitute so he was allowed to bowl and keep.

Everybody likes a live ladder right?? ;D
(http://i64.tinypic.com/i59cg5.jpg)
Group A:
Calling a Possums WIN, which makes WA vs NSW the important game.
Assuming Pattinson gets ~30, then Ferguson, Wells and Tait will need to find about 220 points between them to get the % to flip in their favour. So basically, Gades bat first and Tait rips through the top order, Ferguson comes out and makes 50 with a SR bonus. Then Not Pattinson gets through the Hurricanes until Wells comes to the crease and scores a 50 as well. All the Possums want from this game is the Platypuses to get the W so that they get a 38 point HGA for next round.
Group B:
This is very tough to call because the Koalas are making the Devils earn the W. I think the Koalas will hang on and win, but the scores of Narine, Cooper and maybe Matt Short will be vital to whether the Devils can overtake into 2nd on %, despite losing! The way that can happen is through the Kangaroos falling to bits tonight. It says they have 5 to play but Sangakkara and Michael aren't expected to play, and if either do you'd think Short will drop out of the side. Bancrofts 12 will come on the field. At the other end ACT have two key players, both capable of putting on 60+ scores.
Say the games end like this: Koalas 320 vs Devils 250, Kangaroos 300 vs Cockatoos 400. The Kangaroos hang on with 108.83% to 107.03%. Narine will really need to go big for R.Griffen to see his team make the 4, Jay is looking like taking a 48 point head start into his semi final.
Only problem with your group A write up PB is that Shaun Tait isn't playing.

Kangaroos have won I think, Platypuses are going to sneak over the line too. This is insane anything could happen here.
I'm gonna sound like a really flowering salty and sore loser but can we please have harsher penalties for teams that aren't named correctly or don't have the adequate numbers?
A regular cricket team can't get away with fielding less than XI, especially when the other team does their best to do so, I don't see why this should be too much different, especialy when we're required to name less players anyway.

Obviously willing to discuss everything and I think this crossed my mind earlier in the tournament when Torp won that 4 vs 8, but my initial thoughts are that the team is punished enough for having less players to get points from. If people can see a reason to hand out a penalty too (points or cash penalty?) then I'll happily introduce one.

Your punishment for not fielding 8 players is you don't get to field 8 players IMO. This week was tough on everyone. 2 BBL teams had byes, no teams had a DGW, and the 14 man ODI squad became unavailable (and only a couple of days after said squad was announced). Add into that normal unexpected injuries/players getting dropped and it's very reasonable that we struggled to field full teams. In fact only 66 players played BBL this round, so if everyone fielded the bare minimum 8 players, there'd have been 2 players leftover! Cutting it very fine indeed.

Last season we had longer rounds, which was why 8 players were named for the BBL. But with 3 game rounds I think we should seriously look into dropping it down to 7 or 6. I only just realised this after reading Nige's post, although I did have the T20 format in my list of things to discuss in last offseason, but we never got around to it.
Round 6 Results: This is just ridiculous, read below what's just happened
Group 2:
Q Koalas 288 defeated by T Devils 397
NT Kangaroos 431 defeated ACT Cockatoos 383
I'm starting with Group 2 because Group 1 stole the show this round. The Koalas looked home, I thought they were home, their coach publicly stated they were home, then Tom Cooper's 131 and Sunil Narines doubled 95 happened. And the Devils won. All the Devils needed to do was win to make the top 2, and they made a tough go of it but got there in the end.
That result was expected, but after two days it looked like the Cockatoos and the Kangaroos would find themselves in the finals, but now the loser of this game was going to miss. And it was the Finch-lead Kangaroos that stormed home to win, and take out the game and the group. Onto Group 1....
Group 1:
NSW Platypuses 204 defeated WA Swans 200
V Possums 341 defeated by SA Wombats 457
I have to break this down one game at a time. So NSW just beat WA, really tight game, the first game in D6s history where if the HGA were removed, the result would've changed. Amazingly these were the two lowest scoring teams for the round, but NSW take home the W, and a little bit more as you'll soon see.
The Wombats! The MIGHTY Wombats!! Reeling on 140, 146 behind, and only one extra player to come, this result was done. This result was done before the round started. This was the one result, combined with a NSW victory, I didn't expect to see. But Cam White puts up 54 which gets doubled, and then Benny McDermott goes BANG and scores 134! And to top it off George Bailey gets 75 and the Wombats get a W to end the tournament. But there was something bigger that it did, scroll down to find out.
Manager of the Week: fantcfool
Team of the Week: SA Wombats
Nope, it wasn't this, but ftc will take home the MOTW award (I will run with that caretaker coach getting the accolades idea, so willing to change the last round to remove Pk). He owes Ben McDermott and George Bailey for that!
HGA

WA: 26 (-4)
TAS: 46 (+6)
NT: 36 (+6)
Ladder
(http://i63.tinypic.com/33e0unm.jpg)
Do you see it now? It's not just ftc that is loving the work of Ben McDermott, Scrads has stumbled into 2nd place at the expense of the Possums!! Absolutely incredible stuff. The Kangaroos just scrape into the first seed by a fine % margin, and the Devils are there too.
Round 6 Fixtures
WA Swans vs T Devils
NT Kangaroos vs NSW Platypuses
Hurricanes Bye; Stars Double
5th place: V Possums
6th Place: ACT Cockatoos
7th Place: SA Wombats
8th Place: Q Koalas
So that gives us the matchups. The two Group A reps are yet to win a title, the two Group B reps have won a title each (NT the defending T20 champs). No surprises which two teams I'm cheering on for the sake of having 5 different winners ;) Finals start on the 14th January, make sure you get your teams in and please don't forget to name players that could play (R.Griff, Torp). Every point will count! Good luck all, and for the other 4 teams, turn your attention back to the last few FC Shield rounds :(
Seriously though, my head is still shaking in disbelief over what has just happened...

Alright, I'm happy now, got a singular win thanks to Mighty Ben McDermott 8)
And Scrads, you're welcome! I think we both owe Benny one ;D
This also means that the run of 4 straight finals appearances for the Q Koalas has ended. They were the only team to have featured in all finals series up until this point. Every team has now missed the 4 in at least once. SA Wombats are the only team who are yet to have a top 4 finish (6, 8, 6, 7, 7 their finishing spots)
We also have a chance for BratPack and NT to make it 2/2 T20 Trophies. Also a chance for R.Griff and the Devils to make it 2 titles in Season 2 (And they currently sit 4th in FC so the perfect season is still a chance!)

Best team my arse. Did YOUR team get past 3000 points for in the prelim rounds? I think not :P
It wasn't even that lucky, anything more than 19 from McDermott and we'd have won. A little more respect for a team missing three international stars. We're not even that bad, just happen to have 400 extra points against than any other team.

We scored the 3rd most points so we are fully entitled to be here. Although I'm salty we lost by 4 points.
Bring on the Devils!
Lucky you were in the "easy" other group. Wouldn't have made it out the other one ;)
With no BMac I might be in a bit of trouble
You say easy but I think you'll find Group A scored more points!

Something to talk about for next season, only name six players on the field for all comps. Just to be consistent and to stop me just naming 6 players like I did 2 or 3 times before noticing and changing it :P

Why is Badree x2?
Oh my bad, thought you had captained him. I'll fix that up.
You forgot to put in McKay's score (16 by my count) too PB :P
any chance we could get scores before tonight's game?

Apologies been busy since Sunday night. First time I've been able to get on a PC since then.

BratPack can thank his lucky stars for getting home here. Home Ground advantage gets him over the line, making it twice in two rounds where HGA has been the difference, and also Adam Zampa wasn't named by the Platypuses, who got released and played tonight, scoring 29.

Thank god for that Quiney catch :D
Now to get revenge for the One Day Cup :P
Ughhhhhh.
Question, would I have been allowed to name Zampa after it was announced he was released to play even though the Stars had already played a game so they would technically be 'locked out' despite the fact he DNP the first game?

I tend to allow teams to name players late in DGWs and only get the 2nd game. So yeah he would've :-\
But like, Wright batted the whole innings and didn't get any SR bonus! If he went at 120SR he'd have gotten 8 points which doubled would've given you the win! :(

Or made more than 7 in the first game! :P
Also - idea to consider for next year. Losers in the SF games play-off in GF week to determine 3rd and 4th spots? Seems weird that I could have come 1st, 2nd or 4th but not 3rd haha.

Last season when I had losing playoffs teams would forget. But looks like everyone has the hang of it now and is right into it, so a 3rd vs 4th is good. Probably won't do anything for the bottom 4 though.
So unless BP gets a major comeback in the last two Shield rounds, R.Griffen and the T Devils will be the best team of the season, regardless of this result. It's not really a thing as such, just tallying up the finishing positions in all 3 comps. V Possums were the best last season using that system :)
Edit: Well actually it is a thing, as it's the system that determines the worst 4 teams and the compo FA picks that are handed out :P

Could very easily have been 1 from each group in the granny :)
Does BP get over the line again thanks to HGA? 42 points is closing in on an extra player!

Hughes and Henriques need to go big otherwise the Kangaroos take the title!
Just as long as anyone but Hilfy gets them cheaply I'm happy :P
Nice work Harry Potter, Now get Hughes :P
Edit: Or Gulbis. Gulbis works too ;D
I'll take more Quiney catch points too. :D More the merrier Beer. Less wickets for Hilfy to take.
Even better Boland. Every wicket not taken by Hilfy is 20 points Griff can't get :)
Just quietly BP, I reckon you'll be alright here :P

Congrats to BP who becomes the first manager to win a second title, and has defended his T20 Trophy title from Season 1. It's good to see a team specialize in a certain format, zero success in the long format but has two T20 titles. Good effort by the Devils who are looking like our team of the season across the 3 formats. Well done to the Platypuses and the Swans for making the top 4 as well :)
