So Dion Prestia has officially nominated Richmond as his preferred destination.

Ben Lennon has also requested a trade.

So Lennon has basically put his hand up to move to the GC. I reckon the Suns ask for this years first round pick and Lennon, Richmond counter with next years second and Lennon, they meet somewhere in the middle and do next years first round pick and Lennon for Prestia. It's probably a good deal for both clubs if Richmond think they won't bottom out again.

It's interesting because Lennon had the opportunity to move last year and instead signed a multi-year deal.

Can I say it?

Richmond has flicked the Bean!!  ;D

Marcon is a bit a of a surprise, thought he showed a bit, wouldn't be surprised if he got picked up by another club

Wouldn't mind Conca at the Eagles, reckon he might be able to offer a bit and he shouldn't cost too much.

Not entirely sure what his greatest asset is but I don't think we've seen near his best due to injury.

Doesn't really excel at anything imo.

Like to end up like Jack Redden I reckon.

Beautiful. Exactly the person we needed. The man is good at what he does and should be able to pacify the current showerstorm surrounding the club.

Dan Richardson still has a role though, now is general manager of football talent.

Agree this is a positive for the club the most important thing now will be this years trade period and how the club handles it , we can not afford to stuff it up

I'm glad the board challenge has stopped but they highlighted the ongoing problems at Tigerland 35 years into a 5 year plan , we would have to be the most unsuccessful club in that time and this current board and coach and recruiters have dropped the ball in the last few years looking how the team finished this year , I hope Balme can bring some common sense and smart decisions back to the club there must be smart recruiting and a game style that will make us competitive game after game or it will all blow up again next year

With the trade season upon us what do people think will happen at the Tiges ?

Prestia for pick 6 and no more think we can get that done

I would like to see us chase another gun mid , Rockliff's name keeps being brought up I would love the Tiges to chase him next years first round and Lennon want's out who knows maybe we can get really involved this year

Nankervis is one we could be interested in I see which is pleasing

I am not against us offloading Lids if we can work a gun into the trade or a high draft pick but although the Cats are interested I can't see them being able to satisfy our needs , do not want Motlop as a part of any deal otherwise Lids stays but he would probably like a chance at a premiership and sadly don't think that is going to happen at the Tiges at his age

I am a bit concerned that the people that thought that handing over last years highest 2nd round and this years 6th highest 2nd round for Yarran are still there ? hopefully Balme will not allow that type ridiculous trade to happen this year

thoughts ?

Yep no hard feelings with Lids he deserves a crack at a flag as for Caddy they played hardball last week with him time for us to do the same won't be to happy handing over what we get for Lids for him rather we took that to the draft and offer 24

I'm hoping only for tiger fans sake. This new star midfield can create the run and pressure that Rancey and Jacky are crying out for!

Rance needs somebody to kick it to and JR needs someone to kick it to him!

But can the new midfield win hardballs, spread, create pressure, tackle and hit up the scoreboard? Consistently?

We have lost Lids but scored 2 good mids so you think we would have to be more competitive in the middle which is a plus , think we will be hoping a couple of young guys can step up again that way we can drop players like Edwards to the 2's when he dishes up the pathetic efforts that he gave us this year but the word consistent is probably not one we can use for them next year

QuoteChris Yarran has been released from his contract, effective immediately, to allow him to deal with ongoing mental health issues.

“Chris has found it difficult to meet the demands of AFL football given his personal issues,” Richmond General Manager â€" Football, Neil Balme said.

“Ultimately it was agreed with Chris, and his management, that stepping away from the game is in the best interest of his long-term health and wellbeing.”

Yarran said he greatly appreciated the support of Richmond over the past 12 months.

“I am extremely grateful for the support Richmond has given me over the past year. I am deeply disappointed my ongoing health issues have not allowed me to repay the Club and its supporters,” Yarran said.

No, Yazz came to us with issues, my gripe is with the RFC for not doing any due diligence. Blair Hartley was also warned from certain quarters not to go down this path but he ignored all the good advice.

Maybe he fade was a mistake. So what? Yarran is a human being who has probably had a shower life and is going through a tough time. When something like this happens we should be looking at how we as society and the AFL can help Yarran now and make sure that players like Yarran can live up to their potential.

It was a domino effect for Yaz. The one that started the fall was Eddie leaving Carlton. We had a really good support network set up for him at Carlton but it all started to head south in 2014. Eddie leaves, Robbo and Jeffy get in trouble and are kicked to the curb and he also had personal issues start to pop up in 2015.

For a guy that is quite introverted he lost his 3 closest mates at the club which makes it really difficult to be able to talk to someone to help you through your problems. I still couldn't figure out why he nominated Richmond, I always thought for the best chance for him to get back on track he should have gone to SA, in particular the Crows.

Love the Shai Bolton pick, him and Daniel Rioli should form a lethal combo.

Jack Graham is an absolute steal at 53.

Ryan Garthwaite is an interesting choice, key back and will take some time.

I don't know anything about any of them but just looking at highlights and reading the write ups on them I'm happy with the first 2.
Bolton looks like a live wire, highlights reminded me of a Walters type.
The defender we got seems to read the play really well but boy does he have a terrible kicking action. Hopefully one of those "awkward but effective" types and not someone that butchers it haha

Hopefully the Tigers can turn Dusty around but he has told them he won't  talk contract until the end of the year

The only way I can see us keeping Martin is being successful on the field this season so another repeat of last season's performances not only we will be waving goodbye to Dusty we will be looking for a new coach but at least he will have a couple of first round picks

Hodge, Burgoyne and Gibson will retire so the Hawks will nab Dusty and Fyfe for 2018  :-X

Benny Lennon with 7 goals in the VFL hitout yesterday. Jeez I'd like to see him breakout and succeed this year.

Would be good but not holding my breath it would be great if he could play well enough to hold his place in the 1st's when he gets a chance.

Would be an ideal 3rd marking tall behind Jack & Griffo. Deledio's spot is his to take.

Think most of his problems have been between his ears so far he has the body and skill just up to him if he wants to play , first he wanted to leave then he was put on the table last year but no one wanted him he is fast running out of chances hope he takes it this time

Agree shaker. Has the talent just needs to develop the competitive mindset and workrate to go with it. A better run with injuries would do wonders as well.
