LAS VEGAS SINNERS

Despite the finish this year, we are pretty happy with our list and how we see it developing over the next 2-3years. We have some good depth across all lines but will trade to increase quality, however will be looking for younger players who fit the age profile of the rest for the team

Every player is capable or being traded, however deals for Rocky, Fyfe, Titch and our young guns are very unlikely.

DEFENDERS :

Lynden Dunn, Jake Carlisle(FWD), Harry Taylor, Nick Haynes, Brad Sheppard, Tyson Goldsack,  Lachlan Plowman, Zak Jones, Christian Salem, Jed Bews, Sam Wright, Harrison Wigg, Mitchell Hibberd(MID), Riler Bonner, Bailey Rice, Jonathon Marsh, Nick Newman

MIDFIELDERS :

Tom Rockliff, Nathan Fyfe, Jordan Lewis, Scott Selwood, Jack Ziebell, Tom Mitchell, Josh Caddy, Harry Cunningham(FWD), Heath Hocking, Jono O'Rourke, Jake Lloyd, Jordan de Goey(FWD), Clay Smith(FWD), George Hewett, Ben Keays, Matt Kennedy, Jade Gresham

RUCKS :

Shaun Hampson(FWD), Jonathon Griffin(FWD), Trent West(FWD), Majak Daw(FWD)

FORWARDS :

Lance Franklin, Justin Westhoff, Taylor Walker, Kurt Tippett(RUC), Jeff Garlett, Gary Rohan, Timothy O'Brien, Timothy Broomhead(MID), Luke Russell(MID), Jarryd Lyons(MID), Christian Petracca(MID), Michael Apeness, Patrick McKenna, Harrison Himmelberg, Jordan Dawson, Nick Kommer, James Rose

Hasn't posted a team in a fair while, and hasn't been on FF since July 10th - unless he comes on and explains himself soon he'll be getting replaced by FTC.

Title: Re: Trade Talk 2016/17
Post by: Jukes on August 02, 2016, 03:20:23 PM
Okay so I've received 8 responses to the trade approval (thanks all) and it's been a resounding rejection (6 out of 8,), with most people feeling that Masten, probably a player worth an average of 80-or-so, is far from being the same value as the 7th selection in the draft - a pick that took future bombers superstar Aaron Francis last season. This reasoning, along with my own opinion and the one-sided poll taken, has lead me to block the trade due to being too-lopsided.

I'm looking for a decent backman who averages/will average in 2017 between 75 and 90, age doesn't matter. Am willing to pay up with Rookie Draft picks and guys like Richard Douglas, Hawkins, Gregson, Jarrod Garlett, Papley, Dany Pearce, Matt Shaw, Jed Anderson...

Quito have received a very appealing offer for Chad Wingard, but given that more coaches have shown interest in him than I can count on one hand, I thought it best to let everyone know that you best get your offers in soon or you may miss the boat. Thanks!

Hm, yeah I reckon the comp won't be anywhere near as even as it was this year. Clear divide between the top 3-4 and the rest the way things are shaping up.

Well, if y'all wanted an even comp you shouldn't have offloaded all your good, aging players to KB, ele and I!

Gotta love having a top-3 current (talent and depth) and potential squad tho ;)

Having starting mid ages of 21, 21, 22, 22, 26, and 29 yet average 96, 97, 97, 109, 104, and 89 (Jack had a shower season) ;) and should all improve over coming years (except maybe Steven)

Just so everybody knows, the Team Lists thread (http://forum.fanfooty.com.au/index.php/topic,99246.0.html) is completely up-to-date (if I've flowered up anywhere let me know), except for delistings (as teams are free to add and remove delisted players as they wish, so they still technically own them until the start of the NAT draft)

Might look at packaging together two starting quality defenders, say two of Weitering/Hooker/Macmillan/Roberton/Henderson for either one elite starter, or two solid starters giving me an upgrade at another position.

Just a reminder guys - not getting into anybody in particular, but please remember that our trade complaint/rejection system is not as harsh as WXV's is - please only reject/complain about trades if there's certainly a noticeable disparity in the trade, not nitpicking little things - I want us to be as little like Worlds and their communist system as we can be! :P

Alternatively, will sell individually for the best pick offered.

Both are best 22 and play every week which makes for handy depth!

I do now - with 5 votes passing the trade and 6 votes against the trade I'm going to have to reject it, although I'm sure it wouldn't take too much more on Anaheim's behalf to make it pass.

As you can probably see, theres a few good names in there who won't make our top 9 next season, if you're interested, looking for a draft pick as well as forwards and defenders. Grundy & Howlett are alright F/D4's, but would like an improvement if possible. Pretty much everyone is up for discussion, with varying price levels, except for a select few (Ebert, Blakely, Scully, Aish, Balic, Hickey, Tarrant)

Also I've received two offers for A.Hall (PSK & FTC). I'd ideally like to move him on for the highest DP/DP combination offered. 95+ SC mid. Get in ASAP as I'd like to have him gone in the next 24-48 hours.

Would also love to get back into the draft, so draft picks more than welcome in trade negotiations. Thanks for those who have been patient while I did exams & had some IRL commitments to deal with.

@Jukes/Nige, when is the trade deadline?
Title: Re: Trade Talk 2016/17

Late response ik - no trade deadline, BUT trades after the start of our NAT Draft must be one-for-one, and no trading of 2016 picks of any drafts. Trading ends when round 1 starts.

Firstly, when have I ever chirped about that? Not even close to always

Second, from those 7 I believe 6 are 30 or 31, and then Joey who's what 33. Not exactly life threatening when most good players retire at 34 or so.

And you already lost Bartel, Pav, dal Santo, and Grimes (kind of) to retirements this off-season, so watch your chirping!

A fair few people don't have up to date team lists in their threads (or don't have a thread, or make it difficult to work out which posts actually contains their current squad) but the Team List thread is up to date so you can use that as reference if need be.

Need a couple of decent midfielders, don't have to be anything special. Have defenders & forwards, full list to come  :)

Just a quick look over last season's trades for some good, bad, oddities and talking points:

1. Santiago trade: 2016 NAT First Rounder
Houston trade: Chris Masten

This one was obviously negged, and for good reason too - Masten has been putrid this season, which could be his last...while pick 7 eventuated as Sam Petrevski-Seton. A good neg by the coaches all around!

2. New Brooklyn trade: Joe Daniher
Carolina trade: Angus Brayshaw
Joey has lifted his average up to 87, while Brayshaw hasn't played since round 2 because of massive concussion issues. Ouch.

7. Colorado trade: Darcy Parish
New Brooklyn trade: Maverick Weller and James Frawley
On the flipside, looking like NBH cleaned up with this trade. Parish is a future superstar, while Weller is just okay and Frawley a huge potato.

13. San Francisco trade: Cam Guthrie, Allen Christensen, Jonathan Ceglar, and NAT Pick 20
Boston trade: Jack Watts, Sharrod Wellingham, Josh Smith, and Aaron Young
This trade is cursed! Guthrie's average dropped from 85 to 71, Christensen and Ceglar haven't played all season, and Boston on-traded pick 20, who became Jack Graham who is yet to debut. Meanwhile, Watts missed four games and has dropped in average from 84 to 75, Wellingham looks to be just about done, and Aaron Young's average has dropped from 78 to 57. Josh Smith was on-traded for Brendon Goddard, the one bright spot of this trade who is averaging 99.

14. Ottawa trade: Pearce Hanley, Billy Hartung, and Dylan Buckley
Boston trade: Jonathan Ceglar, Ryan Davis, and N20
Boston getting Hanley and Hartung for just about free...wowee. N20 became Jack Graham, who looks good but hasn't played yet.

16. San Francisco trade: Tom Doedee, and NAT Picks 32 and 44
Houston trade: Bradley Hill and NAT Pick 40
Brad Hill has only averaged 82 but has played every game, and that's a lot better than Doedee's 0 from 0. Averaging 98 in Dream Team tho :X

24. Quito trade: Toby McLean
Ottawa trade: National Pick #28
McLean sure has stepped up and into an 85 average, while Pick 28 became Isaac Cumming (who?) for Boston.

30. Boston trade: Connor Blakely, Billy Hartung, and NAT Pick 36
Colorado trade: Jimmy Bartel and NAT Picks 8 and 27
Massive win for Colorado here. Blakely has developed into a gun and Hartung is solid, while Bartel retired and Pick 8 was on-traded.

42. San Francisco trade: Oscar McDonald, Jed Anderson, Jarrod Garlett, and RD Pick 8
Chicago trade: Andrew Gaff, Josh Gibson, and Eric Hipwood

OMac, Anderson and Trengove for Gaff? I still think that's a fair deal :P

54. Boston trade: Nat Pick 7
New Brooklyn trade: Josh Schache and Brendan Ah Chee
SPS for two low-scoring KPFs, I think NBH got a good deal here.

56. Quito trade: Chris Yarran and NAT Pick 29
Santiago trade: NAT Pick 19
You'd think Quito would automatically win this trade, getting a ten-selection upgrade for what turned out to be nothing. But Pick 19 was Jordan Gallucci (yet to debut) (on-traded to Anaheim then Chicago)...Pick 29 was Alex Witherden. Welp.

#24 was a big flop, I've revisited it a number of times with a very happy Nige who refuses to donate Toby back, wonder why...

Somehow McLean overtook Dahlhaus in the guts, and although not a midfielder this season, is exactly what Quito are missing in the guts from next season onwards. Sad.  :'(

35. New Brooklyn trade: NAT Picks 5, 29, and 41

Don't forget this bad boy. Steele n Weller been great

Was rapt with 24, still can't believe I pulled it off. :P

I'm still with 14 as well. Buckley is a spid, Hanley hasn't been that good this season and Hartung is only ever gonna be okay.

Cegs ACL just after I got him in was unlucky (and I have Big Boy so logic is fair). Davis was to even out with Buckley who I was gonna delist. Graham will be better than Hartung easily, especially for SC.

That was on the shortlist but Pick 29 was Witherden :P and Bowes at 5 could turn into a handy player.

Hence why I didn't include any of your trades - they're all bad in a long term sense, but they, for the most part, achieved your goal of a quick build up - not making the final three teams in finals doesn't mean you're not one of the three best teams in the comp.

And of course, with all trades, hindsight is 20/20. A lot of bad trades are really just bad luck.

New Brooklyn Hawks will be making minimal trades this season.
As I think it is in a great position with it's youth only getting better.

Only thing I could probably do is trade a midfielder for a forward.

Haven't really looked into this topic too much - what would we all think about awarding priority picks to Quito (1-16 after 5-11) and/or Ottawa (3-14 after 6-10)?

Obviously don't have to be picks 1 and 2, maybe end of first/second round selections or two additional picks at the top of the rookie draft?

I'm obviously biased on the matter, but I'd advocate for it even if I wasn't in the situation.

My list is okay, but was majorly impacted by injuries and stuff, and I barely had the depth (look at how Montreal went) to compete which is what contributed to 3-14 (and let's not forget that was 14 straight losses).

We've got lists of 56.

It's likely that the list of you aren't willing to trade is smaller than those you are.

So if somebody lists guys they aren't willing to trade, common sense says that literally everyone on their list is available for the right price.

As I've said a million times, maybe more - the whole 'untouchable' thing is stupid though, because every player has a price, it's just that some coaches value certain players in such a way that nobody can or would be able to pay the asking price.

Paddy McCartin straight swap. Avgs 3 concussions a season from 3 games. Flawless.

Still on the hunt for a decent midfielder or two, have the #1 and too many forwards.
If you're interested in the pick or forwards like Breust and M. Wright let me know. Can be packaged.

Will be doing a massive cleanout/rebuild at Colorado this off-season. Everyone on the table, interested in picks and young potential, come and get a gun while they last. Connor Blakely the only one off the table at this point (for obvious reasons)

I've received 7 votes from coaches for trade #5, with 5 of the votes being for rejecting it which I would have to agree with being enough of a reason to officially reject the trade.

Anaheim getting a genuine premium in Jones (averaged 100 in 2016 and is only 29) and another pretty servicable player in Shiels (averaged 78, two years removed from a 97 average, and is only 26), which far exceeds three youngsters, none of whom were drafted in the top 25, are too highly rated, or have really impressed yet at AFL level (8 combined games, no scores 80+, 3 scores sub-35).

A potential re-trade would need much more input from Anaheim I'd say.

Always up for trades, may be looking for a mediocre backup ruckman as insurance for Stef (and since Trengove stinks) and a borderline-best-XVIII backman.

My squad below - crossed out are untouchable (but have a crack if you want anyway)

Def: T. Adams, H. Shaw, J. Pittard, Z. Williams, O. McDonald, S. Wellingham, T. Stewart, S. McLarty (fwd), R. Harwood, S.D. Thompson, N. Smith, J. Kelly, J. Glass-McCasker, A. Morgan

Ruck: S. Martin, J. Trengove
Fwd: B. Deledio, J. Watts, J. Jenkins, E. Betts, T. Hawkins, B. Hill (mid), T. Papley, R. Douglas (mid), A. McDonald-Tipungwuti, A. Young, M. Honeychurch, J. Begley, A. Black, B. Lennon, C. Gregson, M. Redman, A. Monfries, B. Smedts (mid), K. Lebois, M. Close, M. Chol

Probably too old for my liking, no upside there compared to if I picked up an early 20s guy with limited experience, like Jackson Trengove that I have (yes I know he's 27)

And yes, they're both Darcy's doges now. Could definitely see Sandi giving it up soon.

Panthers achilles heal for the year was the lack of a decent Forward, & injuries to some of our main Fwds didn't help, as well.

We have to give something to stay in & around the finals for 2018 so reluctantly will be looking for a Forward for:
Josh P Kennedy.   :'(

So if interested shoot us a PM, can also be found on Discord.

Gone a little quiet over this side of town, Quito are looking for midfielders and wouldn't mind a solid ruckman.

Had a little bit of interest in Tom Langdon and Shaun Higgins, even Daniel Rich who will be a defender again in 2018 after his career best year in SuperCoach scoring in 2017.

Also looking at offers for guys like Suckling, Curnow, Wright, Breust and even guys like Seedsman and Vlastuin.

Shoot me a PM either here or elsewhere and we can work on a deal.

Gotta good young mid depth coming out of our ears at the Otters, so we wouldn't mind trying to package up some fellas for a good forward or defender or two. Even for a slightly better A grade mid. Also got the Hawks ruck set of Big Boy, Ceglar and Pittonet to offer up in exchange for the above as well.

Panthers been lucky re retirements & delistings this year compared to previous year where we had 12.

Only using the 1 RD pick, so a 5 for 1 deal is on offer being for the following RD picks: #12, #24, #36, #48, #60, instead of going deep in the draft, are available for a lower RD pick.

Have clarified it with Jukes.

FTC are looking for somebody to help bridge the gaps in a trade between us to form a three-team trade. Basically, it'll look something like:

Quito trades: Vlastuin and X
Quito receives: Lachie Hunter

San Francisco trades: Lachie Hunter
San Francisco receives: Vlastuin and Y

Other Team trades: Y - preferably a solid backman or ruckman
Other Team receives: X - a Quito player (FTC could clear up what he wants from you)

Anyway hit one or both of FTC and I up on FF/discord and hopefully we can sort a deal out.
