Title: Round 15 Thread - Penultimate Round, Partial Lockout - Don't edit posts!

Fixtures
Anaheim Mighty Ducks vs New Brooklyn Hawks
In the context of playing finals, this game probably is the most important of the lot. Anaheim sit in 6th, with only a win separating the pack of three pressing for a finals berth. Anaheim have had their share of issues, but still have a formidable line up led by superstar and regular captaincy option - Patrick Dangerfield. New Brooklyn are last of the team in contention to appear in finals, but if that dream is to become a reality, this is a must win. They probably wouldn't have expected to be in this race, but the finish line is in sight but I think the Ducks will hold on at home.
Colorado Avalanche vs Houston Bombers
Another game that could shape the final series sees Colorado hosting Houston. Colorado have had a bit of a nightmare all season and now find themselves battling to avoid the spoon. They're a better side than this and they'll be out to prove this by ending the finals dream that Houston have. Speaking of, the Bombers are oh so close to playing finals as well, but currently they sit 7th, which isn't enough. Winning this will boost their chances considerably and potentially even put them in the top half of the ladder with a game to play. Houston should be too good.
Carolina Panthers vs Ottawa Otters
Carolina will want to finish the season strongly, having been pretty consistent all season. They sit in 3rd and will be eyeing off a top 2 finish as they currently share the same amount of wins as Chicago. They have a chance to make it happen this week against a struggling Otters outfit. Ottawa have had a rough time of late, really falling away after starting the season well, the loss of ruck Nic Naitanui and various other injuries really crippled the latter half of their season. Carolina are the better team and should all but officially end Ottawa's intentions of playing finals in 2016.
Boston Terriers vs Quito Quetzals
You could argue that this is the most inconsequential game of the round as first plays last. However, there still is a bit on the line for both sides. Boston are a game clear on top and will want to keep it that way, so not taking the lowly Quito lightly would be a good start. The last thing they'd want is a blemish on a pretty solid season. For the Quetzals, they probably just want the season to end, but only 2 weeks remain for them, it's just about avoiding the spoon now and a win here could help that cause. Hard to see that happening though, Boston comfortably you'd think.
Las Vegas Sinners vs Chicago Sharks
Pretty fitting that we also have 11th playing 2nd this week alongside the previous clash. Again, this one doesn't look like the most exciting game but could definitely shake things up depending on the result. Vegas are very good at their best, but their worst is the reason they share last place on the ladder. They've also scored the least this season which wouldn't be want the coach wants to hear. Chicago haven't had too much to complain about and will play finals, but top spot is on offer with a win this week. Playing Vegas, they'll get a good chance for a percentage boost if they bring their A-game. With that in mind, it's hard to go past the Sharks in this one.
San Francisco Grizzlies vs Santiago Cockerels
For me, this is the match of the round. 4th plays 5th in a super important game with dire consequences for the loser. San Fran have scored the second most points for this season, yet sit 2 games behind the ladder leaders and the coach will be the first to tell you all about that. They currently hold a top 4 spot and will want to still be there at the end of this fortnight, but that's in jeopardy should they lose. For Santiago, the gap between them and the Grizzlies must be bridged with a win this week. A loss could spell disaster and mean they have to rely on their final game to play finals football. They've had a rollercoaster season which isn't about to grind to a halt just yet. I can't tell who wants it more, but I'm swaying the way of the Cockerels.

Also should note that neither Boston nor Quito named teams this week. As a result, last week's team was used for Boston and Quito's from the week before that. As a result, neither had subs and the latter exhausted all emergencies.

Why am I saying all this?

Because: Quito actually won the game by a point before Boston's HGA and got them over the line.

Oh and a friendly reminder to people to make sure they name their teams correctly, a number of teams lost subs and named players not playing.

I'm surprised
a) we actually scored pretty decently
b) Santiago scored so poorly - usually we play teams into form!
c) I didn't go up against Anaheim this week aha

Fun fact...

Maxy gAWN! has polled a whooping 42 votes (last season's winner was Armitage on 41) from 9 games (with a game to spare).

That's 4.67 votes per B&F performance - the max achievable amount is 5 in a game

Take it easy from now on and rest Gary Ablett (30 votes from 9 B&F performances - 3.33 votes per B&F performance) because the Cockerels have its new fantasy pig  :)

Time to get 15 other players to perform decently each week  >:(
