Title: British XV Round 13 (AFL Rd 16) Team and OOP Lodgements and Banter Discussion
Post by: Ringo on July 05, 2016, 11:56:32 AM
After the Byes and the North v South Challenge we get back to the final 4 rounds prior to finals

Remember to name emergencies in order, any OOP players ane EVC in this thread.

Round 13 Draw:

Some very interesting match ups which will help shape the table.

Breakers v Owls  6th v 4th The loser of this match will be in danger of dropping out of the 8. Both teams have had 7 wins with the Owls having the draw. Will be a tight match but Owls may be slight favourites with a lot resting on Captain choices.
Knights v Bunnies 15th v 10th - Bunnies strongly favoured here but Knights can cause a boilover if Bunnies not on their game.
Badgers v Magic 3rd v 12th Should be an easy win for the Badgers.  However the Magic have found some form recently and may cause a surprise if all players play to their full potential.
Hoods v Steins 13th v 14th  A very close match here. Hoods should have the firepower to get over the vastly improved Steins but a Steins victory would not surprise.
Giants v Werewolves 16th v 2nd Should be an easy win for the Werewolves who are close to full strength.
Hurricanes v Dragons 1st v 11th Hurricanes would be favoured here but the Dragons when on song can cause an upset. Will it be this week though can not see it and favour the Hurricanes to continue the whirlwind against opponents.
Leeches v Rams 8th v 9th. Another match where the loser may struggle to make the 8. Rams have been showing something in recent weeks in the absence of their suspended stars and may be able to get over the Leeches who are very up and down this year.
Hawks v Hedgehogs 5th v 7th A must win match for the Hedgehogs if they are to stay in 8.  Will be tight and if either side is a little off could mean curtains. Looking for a tight game with the Hedgies based on projections slight favourites.

So we have 3 matches that will really shape the final 8.  Let the banter begin.

I've been away for just over a week with basically zero internet, just got back home half an hour ago. Any chance I can name my team here? Or do I get stuck with what I currently have? The only changes I'd make are Cutler to Harbrow, Lonergan to Stretch, Barlow to Lynch (Fasolo emg), and Hanley in for NDS. Rest is fine.

Aren't you acting Admin in Ringo's absence? You can do whatever you want ;)

In all seriousness though I can't see an issue with it given you're not gaining any advantage by missing the last night's deadline.

Haha, I didn't wanna make the decision in case people weren't happy with it :P

I'll wait for Ringo to make a decision, so if he says no then will just take score from UF, if he says it's ok then we can adjust the scores.

Again, I'll leave that to Ringo. I will say though that I really dislike the Thursday full lockouts, and I'd like to push for a partial lockout next season where captains have to be named to (hopefully) prevent loopholing. Although I am also for loopholing (but assume majority would be against it) :P

well Dickson and Jones are pretty 50/50 but i prefer Jones as he isnt KPP just think he is the safer option scoring wise

Dickson is just permanent emerg cause of JS

You've gotta stick with the team you have Dave.

Otherwise I wouldn't have had Schulz playing, am I making excuses?

I was away for just over a week with no internet, but if you really care that much then I'm more than happy to take Howe's score instead of Stretch or Harbrow.

Haha, Hanley OOP could score anything between 50 and 110 points as well, so there's no guarantee that I'd be better or worse off with my current team :P (I assume I get Hanley oop with current lineup)

both doing equally good :P

I think the decision is better made before we know the scores :P for obvious reasons :D

On a side note, i think the Hurricanes might be creeping towards their first loss this week :(

Finally got some internet access in Prague and very flakey as well. So can relate to Daves experiences.,

I hate Thursday night  lock outs but remember we voted that as the best alternative we had in UF, We can review at end of season for next year now that we now that we can adjust teams.

Regarding Daves team happy for the late one as it is not if he is trying to gain an unfair advantage.

Regarding Breakers team we have an incident and it is one that I had not thought off when going through the change. We voted for the 20% TOG rule. Well to use Breakers as an example thisweek Brad Ebert was concussed very early and named in the mids. How does the replacement work in UF my mid emergency replaces him but the question is I had 2 mids named as utilities so does our normal rule apply one is promoted and first named emergency comes in.  Will leave decision to GL to sort out as I will be very intermittent due to flakey internet.

I had to make a change exactly like that for the Owls I believe when Swallow was concussed or injured. Utilities cover before emergencies, which UF doesn't seem to do so we can just manually adjust the score if necessary.

Also the emergency order in UF can screw up who covers who, which is why it's important to post your emergency order here! Otherwise defenders will always be covering any outs in the midfield as well basically.

I'm gutted now.

Nicky Dal being out means that if Dave had stuck with his original team, by the rules, we would have the matchup in the bag.

As it stands, Hurn, Lecca, Shuey and Cooney are going to chase a score between 300-400 points.

Final score adjustments:

Breakers +22, as Andrews was named first emergency over Acres
Bunnies +138, with Plowman coming on for Bugg, and Shaw becoming OOP ruck (I believe this is the correct way of doing this)
Steins +146 with Mills covering Redden

And now for my Badgers...

-134 as Howe had already played
+80 for Stretch
+182 for Harbrow
+150 for Hanley
+120 for Fasolo covering Rischitelli

Gives +398 I believe

So had you not made any adjustments, we would've won.

Nah, I would have won by 15. For some reason UF doesn't let emergencies replace utilities, so Hanley would have come on for 150 points.

Quick question. Is there a draw on here or are we using the UF fixtures? Just trying to plan some holidays for myself (real life lol)

So UF goes through to end of season. How many games do we actually have left?

We finish after Round 18, then 4 weeks of finals.
