Decide to name my captains because I'm at a likelihood to forget this week with social/uni stuff, and the guy I name gets announced to miss this week! ;_;

I'm not 100% sure if I announced this or not, but I'll say it anyway - big thanks to Nige for doing half of the scoring this season. I'm in my third year of uni and having to overload so this is a great help to me!

My scores this week MAY be delayed due to social engagements over the Easter long weekend - if I manage to get a bit of spare time (at the expense of being a bit rude :P ) I'll have them up Sunday night, if not they'll definitely be up Monday night.

Sorry mate, had probably the busiest Thursday ever. Will be on the ball next week. Happy with this side though Savage and Polec should probably be swapped because I think Savage is a def only and that would be playing him OOP.

Can I throw Goddard the C and Mitchell the VC please as well.

Yeah that's fine, will update your team post.

Also, guess you two above didn't get the thursday-night-lockout notice, but I'll be lenient since it doesn't appear that anything dodgy is up and let it be.

Just got home, will add up scores straight away!

Anaheim Mighty Ducks 17.17.119 lost to Santiago Cockerels 19.12.126
(Real: 1791 vs 1894)

Dane Swan's early injury proved crucial in costing the ducks, who still performed valiantly in the face of adversity (that is, losing their dons stars and Swanny's aforementioned injury), the four points, although Paddy Dangerfield did his best as vice-captain to even things up with an almost best-on-ground performance - Josh J Kennedy bullied the Ducks' weak backline.

Best
Anaheim: Dangerfield, Merrett, Rosa, Langford, Bell, Enright, Hannebery
Santiago: Kennedy, Ablett, Waite, Duncan, Armitage, Hartlett

Ottawa Otters 19.10.126 defeated Las Vegas Sinners 16.10.106
(Real: 1890 vs 1590)

Is this what the coachless New Jersey Devils was hiding in 2015? Las Vegas, however, continue to struggle for depth beyond their star players and possibly start another unsatisfactory campaign, with the negatives outweighing the positives. Ottawa were very good, although their forward (103, 65, 65, 66) and back (94, 54, 67, 52) still leaves room for improvement.

Best
Ottawa: Naitanui, Zaharakis, Johannisen, Treloar, Cunnington, Prestia, Hogan
Las Vegas: Lloyd, Mitchell, Caddy, Westhoff, Lewis

Houston Bombers 15.18.108 lost to Quito Quetzals 16.18.114
(Real: 1618 vs 1711)

Not the best from Quito - but far from the best for Houston. Houston had a lot of passengers (6 scores under 65) and not enough star power (three scores over 100 - one coming as the sub), while Quito, while not perfect, will appreciate gaining four points in enemy territory. At least things can only go up for the team and new coach!

Best
Houston: Lambert, Vince, Rance
Quito: Mitchell, Wingard, Gibbs, Simpson, Lynch, Higgins

Colorado Avalanche 18.12.120 lost to Boston Terriers 19.11.125
(Real: 1800 vs 1869)

The Boston juggernaut took the away win with a pretty shared effort across the board with only star forward Nick Riewoldt having a quiet one. Their lack of sub meant Nick wasn't replaced, but a poor game from Colorado skipper Luke Hodge coupled with very few of his teammates putting in best-worthy performances meant they felt short of Round 1 victory.

Best
Colorado: Ebert, Hickey, Hall
Boston: Murphy, Rich, Priddis, Neale, Gray, Goldstein, Smith

Chicago Sharks 20.7.127 defeated San Francisco Grizzlies 15.17.107
(Real: 1907 vs 1601)

Chicago kicked off their season with a strong win over the flailing San Fran Grizzlies who just didn't put up much of a fight. An injury to Jed Anderson meant Tom Hawkins was subbed on but he couldn't get into the game, meanwhile their skipper Heath Shaw had an usually quiet day. For Chicago, there were few passengers and a consistent effort by all involved meant they walked away with the honours.

Best
Chicago: McDonald, Selwood, Gaff, Parker, Rischitelli, Stringer
San Francisco: Steven, Jack, Viney

New Brooklyn Hawks 16.15.111 defeated Carolina Panthers 16.13.109
(Real: 1668 vs 1638)

Despite captain Callan Ward leading from the front, the Carolina outfit just couldn't overcome the New Brooklyn boys in what was a tight tussle. Both teams had mixed performances which reflected in the scoreline and neither side was able to really get on top of the other. A few outstanding efforts were needed from both sides to carry those that struggled, and in the end, the Hawks came away with the win.

Best
New Brooklyn: Liberatore, Cripps, Gunston, Blicavs
Carolina: Docherty, Ward, Shiel, Bontempelli

Who even needs a sub!
When I chucked the teams into the spreadsheet, I was like "I hope not naming a sub doesn't cost ele the win here."
I didn't have a sub also :'( Unfortunately with the lockout on Thursday and I finish at 5pm (WST) I couldn't rename my sub

I had it worse guys

Tom Hawkins was my sub

My sub was Luke Dunstan - so his score was also useless

This is probably the round with the most unnamed/inactivated subs since the rule was enacted

Hawkins was named/active, just flowering useless! I'd have preferred to send out an infant than him.
