PowerBugCC (135)

Off the Radar (407) however I don't want you to enter this team unless you need the numbers. Would rather see another member be involved even if they are lower ranked.

Yep, no problems. Just had a look at your squad, I reckon you'll keep a few teams honest.

Big upset first round with Valk getting rolled by the Bundy Bashers. JBs would have to be favourite now...

PowerBugCC    Aussie Coyotes
Batting - Top Order    5,309    6,096
Batting - Middle Order    5,157    4,017
Batting - Tail    2,994    2,980
Bowling - Seam    5,843 (32)    4,794 (29)
Bowling - Spin    5,663 (8)    7,784 (11)
Fielding/Keeping    7,387    6,371
Overall    102,045    96,589

picked up a nice win today, but it was the performance of a certain individual that caught my attention.

Ted van Boxtel (rm) 8-1-21-0
My 16yo New Ball Bowler bowled a maiden to start his career, and that is just the sort of thing I am after. Losing Chamal Dorenagama from youths this season who bowled so superbly last season has really hurt my side, so much that I had to go out and buy another NBB medium. Someone is getting a game for the YOD XI this Wednesday 8)

Good win Pb and chased down in 30.3 overs :o :-[

Hope van Boxtel keeps performing for ya. He certainly helped strangle my top order.

You never copped Chamal Dorenagama. Last season in YOD it was the most dominate performance I had ever seen. He had a season economy rate of 2.86 in Div 1 YOD (To put that into perspective the 2nd best economy rate in the league for guys that bowled more than twice was 3.62). 15 maidens was the most in the league, 11 was 2nd most (also my player), 3rd most had 8. His most expensive figures for the season was 1/33, that's still just over 4rpo on his worst day of the season. On 6 occasions he went for 20 runs or less, it was just mindblowing how no team could get him away.

That was strangling a top order. van Boxtel has a long way to go before he gets to that level, I reckon he can go close though.

Bowled less maidens, played less matches ;) Without seeing skills he's also probably one of the biggest bowlers to have come through at u19 level :P Would've been disappointed if he didn't go as well as he did.

Just out of curiousity, does he trigger wicket a lot?

    Wide Bay Wildcats    PowerBugCC
Batting - Top Order    6,284    5,515
Batting - Middle Order    5,806    5,176
Batting - Tail    3,933    3,483
Bowling - Seam    6,148 (24)    6,276 (24)
Bowling - Spin    8,352 (16)    5,382 (16)
Fielding/Keeping    7,526    7,365
Overall    117,890    104,900

PowerBugCC won by 1 wicket :o

Needed 9 runs from my final pair to get me home. Didn't get any official votes but my opener Risad Paleel batted for 108 balls and was the 8th man out in the 35th over for 45, almost got me the whole way home.

The comp seems to be split into three groups if you look at Match Ratings:
Valk and Redlegs the top 2
Spinstars, Spinkings, Wildcats and bundy bashers the next 4 teams
Myself, Hello, Torpedo, and Coyotes are in the bottom 4

Good side ya have there JB

   Norwood Redlegs   Aussie Coyotes
Batting - Top Order   8,896   5,669
Batting - Middle Order   6,893   4,814

Overall   136,233   101,519

Norwood Redlegs won by 73 runs
The only excuse i can come up with is 4x 19yrs in my team
M. Ghafur done some real damage, 122 runs and 4 wkts at eco of 4.29

Getting thumped in this comp so far :-[ but enjoying the stronger competition.

Good news is my team has all but assured promotion to div 2 this season.
Thinking i might have to get the coach to train the young pups extra hard this off season if the are to keep up their win ratio of 75% in Div 2 :P

It's tough competition though. Torps side is the only one yet to hit 100k during the tournament and even then he's not far off. I can't say the same about my div 1 league where we basically every season have 1-2 guys below that 100k mark.

I beat Torp nicely today. Could really see who I rely on though, all 4 of them stood up as well which was nice :) HP next week will be my last chance at a victory as its JB and valk after that :(

My affiliate Wide Bay Wildcats, had been neglected a fair bit and their side will be very weak next season. I will check what they rate, but I will probably pull them out of the comp

Finally the Coyotes managed to pull themselves off the bottom of the ladder.

   Aussie Coyotes   Torpedo's Titans

Well was just chatting to Powerbug on facebook, and he mentioned having it start at 115k for week 1, and then add 1/2k extra for each week, because of training, which could be interesting. So far,

1.Pk - 100k+
2.Cookie - 100k+
3. PB - 90k+
4. Nrich - 70k+

5. WhatMate - ??
6. JB - 100k+ no doubt?

Just 2 more

Week 1 is 110k. I already rate over 110k. If I'm gonna lose for rating too much then I'm out

The point of it is so that we have an even competition to an extent.

Drop one player and play a younger one so you are under the cap :) I don't see how that is a big issue?

After today we will see what everyone rates in YOD and can adjust it from there :)

It's to give everyone I chance, I got a feeling i'd rate close to 110k... But it gives guys like Nrich/PB who don't have dominating youth farms to be at least a chance. And it's a Free Entry Comp.... With prizes, so no idea why you'd be complaining.

You fellas are gonna have to tell me your user names on there too... About 5 people have tried to join and I only recognize Nrich.

I'm not a youth farm though. I run both sides and both academies.
I would forget to change orders from youth 1.1 and my other youth comp

Well, it's up to you if you want to join or not mate. Just going through the comp you guys had 2 seasons ago, it was pretty much dominated by 2 blokes... And to me I see 0 fun in that.

No it wasn't. Jb was clear winner. I finished 5th but beat Valk. 1-7 all rated fairly similar
I finished 5th with 6-3. Valk finished 2nd with 7-2. Hardly dominated

The comp has been sitting there for a few days after he posted his interest:S

HP said he'll just be a fill in... So if Spink applies for it, i'm sure HP will be fine with it.

1st week you won't cop much more then a warning, as long as you try your best to make the right cap :) Don't worry mate.

Yeah Spinks, I was just happy to fill in cause thought numbers were needed (cause you did say you were interested before me). So feel free to be the last spot as I'm sure you'll be more active than me on here!

As Pk knows, I'm happy to step aside.

All good Cookie.

I'm not going to be super strict on this ratings cap as you probably think I will. So don't stress too much about it everyone. It's all for a bit of fun, Just don't go rating 10k over what the cap is and stuff like that. Sorry took me so long to say this, just moved houses, and 0 internet haha...

Well done mate, good comp in the end!

I've just gotta remember to set orders more for my affiliate, rather than my "okay" defaults!

Thanks Torp.

I finished 1st 12-2, Jbs affiliate finished 2nd 12-2
Both his losses were too me and my 2 losses were to ZZ and Spin respectively, whereas jbs beat them quiet comfortably. Lucky for me my team turned up against jbs otherwise I could have easily finished 2nd
