FINALS WEEK FOUR - GRAND FINAL
SENIORS FIXTURE
GRAND FINAL
Laos Elephants (1642) v Mongolian Lambs (2103)
RESERVES FIXTURE
GRAND FINAL
UAE Tigers (968) v Mongolian Lambs (1121)
And here we finally are, the last game of the season. Laos and Mongolia are the final two teams in what has been a very exciting year of AXV Football.
Who is everyone backing to take our this year's Premiership?
Looks like Tom Hickey is gonna be my grand final ruckman. :-X

Kind of ironic seeing that he was the main reason in the end that you beat me in the BXV Grand Final :'(

I have no idea who to captain this week. Could end up being russian roulette.
Can I play somebody OOP ruck instead of Hickey? They'll probably score more.

Hickey had actually been scoring ok prior to last week which is why I started him in BXVs (along with the fact I was left with limited choices).
But yeah up against NicNat and the Eagles rucks he may struggle again.

I've heard Holmes and Pierce will ruck, meaning Hickey will play full forward. I can already see that being a recipe for disaster.
Micky B will play!
I don't like Goldy's chances though...
Come on Lambies 8)

I'm fairly sure you can, but if you do you realise Hickey will kick 3 goals and score respectably.
I am going to say the Elephants will win this one. Good luck to the Lambs though, would be well deserved, quiet achievers, some might say :)
Would be a massive effort from the Lambs if they win from outside the top four
Already taken out Australia and UAE :o
Go Lambs!

Not now, he's out of the side.
OOP ruck it is!
Lambs team submitted - missing just Bob Murphy due to resting and Marc Murphy to injury. Pretty strong side, need our captain and vice in Stanton and Priddis to score solidly for us to be a real chance to take this out.
COME ON YOU LAMBIES!
Feels strange not being in a Grand Final. :P
I'm tipping the Lambs to take it out this year, good luck Nige and Toges.

Yeh good luck boys
Jared McVeigh a late withdrawal :(
In comes Stevie J or Pearce Hanley I suppose!

That doesn't help.
Haha, McVeigh was looking good for us (110.3 DT avg last 5, went for 131 DT on GC earlier in the year). So would've been very handy and was going to be our EVC.
But I think we'll give Hanley one of his few games for the year in a big call up for the GF! Hasn't played much for us as he's behind a few others in the midfield but has an ok record against the Dogs who are missing a few. Let's hope he'll be handy enough. :)
Tough choice at D4 for us with Bob Murphy out and no clear replacement. Will have to back in Aaron Mullet playing on a wing tonight I think!
Laos off to a flyer with Shedda having a whole handball to quarter time!
Disgusting start for both teams - just a pity I had five players in that game as opposed to Laos' one.
:-X
Laos - 267/4
Smith 57, Geary, TMac, Fas
Shiels (c), Barlow, Whitfield, Boak
De Goey (OOP)
Roughy, JJK (vc), Tex 88, Shedda 74
Hall, Crameri 48
Green 163, White, Stratton
vs
Lambs - 857/8
Houli 112, Rance 75, Hunt 74, Mullett 61
Stanton (c), Priddis (vc), Hanley 196, Hartlett
Pyke
Bartel 141, Tippett, TJ Lynch, Petrie 78
Thompson 120, Montagna
Schulz, Stevie J 98, Chaplin 95
The story of our year really, cruelled by injuries. Still somewhat surprised we made it to the grand final with other teams clearly being better. Kinda sad and annoyed it had to end this way, but it is what it is.
Here's a score update after the first game of the round.
Laos Elephants (74 from 1) v Mongolian Lambs (400 from 5)
So neither side is off to a red hot start. The entire Lambs defence has played, performing disappointingly, leaving the door open for the Elephants to gain a big lead in this game. Mongolia will be needing big games from Stanton and Priddis in the middle this week if they are to win.

Your boy is letting me down so far. Thought you would have called him during the week to fire him up for me.
Whelp, Brodie Smith subbed on 57. :(
Edit: To add insult to injury (literally), Crameri's on 30 at HT. ::) The ol' coin flip between him and Josh Green let me down.
This one's over, congrats Toga and the Lambs!
Both Brodie Smith and Stewart Crameri injured and subbed in the same afternoon has sealed our fate.
Been unlucky so far Nige but wouldn't say it's over yet, it's a funny old game!
Stevie J with 2.6 - could have made me regret not picking him but didn't convert. And Pearce Hanley went huge with a 196 by my count :o

Heh. I am really bad at this.
Montags, Priddis & Tippett doing me proud. The boys have performed well besides the backline!

It would be an absolutely monumental task for the Elephants to come back from here, in my view they simply cannot do it. Injuries to Smith and Crameri have really eliminated any chance for them to win the premiership, despite Barlow's best efforts. Mongolia's midfield has gone huge, with the decision to play Pearce Hanley really paying off.
Something will have to go seriously wrong for us from here on in after the huge efforts of our midfield so far. Pridda, Hanley, Hartlett and Montags have really done us proud so far, let's hope Stants can step in and have a big on as well to seal the deal.
Thank god I played Hanley!!
Robbed by the lack of a sub rule imo. :P
Brent Stanton just confirming the Lambs dominance this week

Staking his claim as the biggest seagull in the AFL. :P
3 goals and 74 DT to half time. Love ya Brent :-*
FINALS WEEK FOUR - GRAND FINAL
SENIORS FIXTURE
GRAND FINAL
Laos Elephants (1642) defeated by Mongolian Lambs (2103)
RESERVES FIXTURE
GRAND FINAL
UAE Tigers (968) defeated by Mongolian Lambs (1121)
So here we have our final scores from our final game for the 2015 season.
And remarkably, the winner of both the Seniors and Reserves Grand Finals is:
The Mongolian Lambs!!
Congratulations to Toga for running such a successful club this season, it is quite an effort to win a premiership from outside the top 4! And it is quite a feat to do so with such depth too, with his reserves win showing the well rounded depth of the lambs. I daresay he was lucky however, with JROO copping quite a few North and Freo players being rested, which ultimately cost him the win.
Woo! 8)
It's great to finally be recognised as a premiership team after a few years of being around the mark but just not quite being able to pull it off. Started off shaky this year, and really didn't convincingly cement ourselves in the top 8 at all but really turned it on at the right time, knocking off (with a bit of luck) premiership fancies in KL, Australia and UAE along the way to the GF - bad luck to all these teams who looked incredibly strong all year round. But relieved to be premiers at last!
Commiserations to Nigey who didn't have much luck in the GF, but developed a really competitive outfit at Laos this year. I'm sure the Elephants will be back stronger than ever next year!
And thanks to BB for running the AXVs this year, it's a good comp to be a part of.
GO YOU LAMBIES!!
Well done Toga and the Lambs!
Well done Toges, great effort mate
Thanks fellas! :)
