Mine's all correcto! Thanks Juksey

So basically this is how it's going to work:

National draft will feature leftover players, and players taken in the AFL natty. Take as many picks as you want, or pass on them, up to you.

Then you can fill your list up to 52 with players in the rookie draft, which is players taken in the AFL rookie draft plus leftover players from the natty draft.

Not too complicated I hope.

Oh shower... That make things a lot different... Haha I expected to pick up a certain person with pick 1 in the rookie draft...

Would much rather keep NAT draft to new players and rookie draft, Nat left overs and last years left overs :P But I think I can work with either...

Yeah, I reckon leftovers should probs just be in the rookie draft tbh.

Firstly, I have the eight rounds listed in the OP - I highly doubt anybody will go the full (8) mile, but just in case. When you're satisfied that you have all you need from the nat draft, just say that you'll pass on your future picks (which can NOT be reversed) and all of your future nat picks will be skipped.

Make sure you plan out what nat and rook picks you'll be taking, but this does not need to be officially said/registered.

And as usual if you're up soon but know you'll be away feel free to pm another coach your pick/preferences and have them take it for you.

AFL PSD and Rookie drafts are on Friday, so I'll let the first pick be taken (meaning no more trading of picks or delistings*) on Saturday, to give people enough time to see if any of their guys got picked up and make/remove delistings where appropriate.

*some leniency may be given

First pick may be taken from 12am Eastern tonight, so just under 11 hours.

Won't be doing any pick skipping, just try and get it in as soon as you can though.

I could do the top 5 since I know who Memph wants with his 2 as well! ;)

I'll be on standby for pick 8, it could take a second to select... it could take 5 minutes...

It all depends on the first 7 selections  :P

Hopefully Maric is managed so Hampson gets more of a run and the back line persists. I seriously think that with a clean run you're side will win. In fantasy football, when both teams are at full strength, it's players like Fyfe, Rocky, T. Mitch, Franklin, & Lewis who make the difference... and you have all of them  :P

The only player on my list that I would compare to any of those guys is Ablett, and since his injury I cannot rely on him  :-\

Heater and KK are guns yeah, but I have to pick two of SDT (78 and 73 averages the last two seasons), Pittard (80 average last season), and Jaensch (coming off an acl and is an apparent alcoholic) every week which doesn't make me feel good.

But hey, at least I haven't paid any of the exorbitant prices charged for backs/forwards by some people aha

Also, as usual you're permitted to change your pick up to when the next pick is taken.

ckennedy23  .. is that the profile name of who we are waiting for ?

Had a look at his profile hasn't been active since 8/11/2015 .. 21 days

I don't think its a good idea to skip imo, may have to look at replacing him before the draft continues ?

Anybody know him ? can anyone contact him outside of FanFooty ?

I've had the same concerns FF and was also going to bring it up after 24 hours

It's a tough situation, because a two day skipping policy is regular practice but it flowers over the draft order and I would prefer someone make the selection (I feel uncomfortable making the 7th selection with pick 8 - my team would unfairly benefit because of one coach's absence)

If anyone knows him outside of FanFooty forums, please make it known. It's good FF has addressed this concern because the last thing we want is for this draft to extend over a months time

I think we should still wait 24 hours (from Pope's selection), and if he has not selected wait another 24 hours (in which he can still make the selection if he comes online, while someone finds an impartial interim to make the selection for him)

Title: Re: National Draft Thread
Post by: Nige on November 29, 2015, 11:59:50 AM
Without trying to sound like a dickhead, if he hasn't been on for 3 weeks, I don't really see another 48 hours being that helpful. Better off finding a new coach to replace him and then if he really wants to be coach again here, he can be co-coach or assistant to whoever takes over.

We've basically just done something similar in AXVs.

He posts his team on a weekly basis

However, he has been completely absent over this off-season

It's important we don't draw conclusions because we do not know what's going on in his personal life

I think what we need to remember was that he was available, and present throughout, all drafts last off-season. So we should give him the benefit of the doubt unless his period of absence becomes unreasonable and prevents us from continuing the draft

We could just give him Weitering if he has not made his selection by the 24 hour mark (after Pope's pick) - as the first selected player

Yeah, well that's happened before (happens in Worlds, I know that) where the best available player gets allocated to the team/coach that doesn't pick in time.

How's this then,
I'm currently doing the AXV's UAE Tigers & could be his unofficial Co Coach with drafting / delisting etc until he is found to help along. Failure for CK to appear then it would be up to Admin / Admins  to re appoint a Head Coach.

* The National draft order will be performed in reverse order from the Ladder Position from the previous season.

* The draft order will repeat.

* Each team will be allocated 6 picks to be used in the draft, they may trade them or pass

* The National Draft will contain players only from the most recently completed AFL National Draft

* You will forfeit your draft pick if you have not picked within 24 hrs of the preceding pick or within 2 hrs of being on line following preceding pick.  Should this situation occur you may take you pick at any time following from players still available. Admin discretion will be used here as well.

* Teams wishing to upgrade a rookie from their rookie list to senior list must do so by nominating them in the National Draft at any time

* Teams may choose to pass in order to use a selection in the preseason/rookie draft to add to their senior list. When a team passes they will receive a pick in order of passing in the preseason draft."

These are the current rules - these are all good ideas guys, I think we can all agree on 24 hours being a reasonable amount of time. I guess we should all wait for Jukes at this point

We could just give him Weitering if he has not made his selection by the 24 hour mark (after Pope's pick) - as the first selected player

How's this then,
I'm currently doing the AXV's UAE Tigers & could be his unofficial Co Coach with drafting / delisting etc until he is found to help along. Failure for CK to appear then it would be up to Admin / Admins  to re appoint a Head Coach.

Sounds like a great idea .. see what Jukesy says  :)

The reason I like this idea is that as PSK pointed out CK does post his team weekly but maybe he's away or sick or who know's ?

So this seems like a good idea, you get nas quality drafting for CK and if he doesn't show then Jukes can replace him, just think we need to give him a little more time, seems harsh to just boot him even though he's not here for the drafting.

Again, given that it has been 3 weeks since he was last active, I don't think another 24 hours is going to yield any results. Let nas pick and keep it moving.

I don't think it's unreasonable to be asking for slightly more activity during the drafting period where one generally has a pick every so often. I guess it's okay though since you're always on here and we can just ask you to ask him to get on.

Yeah I agree. Pope took a while to make his selection. The concerns were brought up because ck has not been active since the 8th of November (I'm not sure whether 'active' means 'online' or 'last time they posted').

Is there any way you could get his preferences?

Yeah this would make sense as we delayed it for 4 days so that coaches would know the team lists before going into the draft (which is a better approach for fantasy coaches)

Im not arguing either KB, nobody knew that you knew him apart for Sydrox .. so 21 days was a concern which is why issue was raised. Jukes hadn't replaced him, he merely gave nas the right to pick for him until he showed up. Last thing any of us wanted was for him to be replaced.

It wasn't a case of 'not knowing', more a case of 'not recalling'. I didn't recall it until Syd mentioned it. I think that may have been the case with most coaches (except Nige who could not have possibly known because he was recently appointed)

But I think all of this is irrelevant as the issue has been resolved by Kb  :)

I agree, had my eye on him for a while, lethal kick on him, picks out and hits targets 50-55 metres away. If a rebounding defender/midfielder is what you're after you can do no better in this draft imo.

Yeah Hibberd is good, but I rate Bonner more favourably (Syd's got both though which is easily the best case scenario). I was stoked when he slid to Port - he has been a Power supporter since childhood (which is always a big gain in terms of player loyalty).

Syd's been the biggest winner in this draft imo. The Nat isn't the best place to pick up a ruck (because they won't be AFL ready for 4-6 years - besides Grundy who is easily the exception) and the Sinners already have a powerful forward line. They just needed depth in the midfield and backline and they have nailed that (don't forget Salem will soon be averaging 80-95ppg as well).

It won't be long until they are hunting down the Grizzlies  ;)

Riley Bonner
Gun, would have picked him up myself if I had a pick between 12-20

I agree, had my eye on him for a while, lethal kick on him, picks out and hits targets 50-55 metres away. If a rebounding defender/midfielder is what you're after you can do no better in this draft imo.

This guy won't be playing for us for a long, long time but, at the Hawks he's got the perfect platform to flourish.
