2ND PRELIMINARY FINAL

RESERVES FIXTURE
1ST PRELIMINARY FINAL

2ND PRELIMINARY FINAL

So we are down to the Preliminary Finals - the last two weeks of competition for the year! Who are you backing from here to take out the premiership?
We are also looking at having our AXV Awards night scheduled for next Tuesday, the same night as the M0nty Medal. We will confirm this date over the weekend, it may be moved to a different day in the week.
I pick UAE and Sri Lanka to win this week :)
Tough matchup, need the boys to stand up again this week
I'm pretty nervous. I still reckon a number of our lads pumped out their good scores last week. :-X
Come on Toga, knock off JRoo >:D
Other game is going to be a ripper too
I'm pretty sure we got smashed by the Strikers last time we played as well actually, could be wrong about that though...

You won in Round 15 though by just under a 100 points, that was the game I was thinking of, just got the margin wrong.

Have cracked 2,000 the last few weeks but we're gonna need a huge week to knock him off

We basically have eight "premium" Mids and only four are available, so a win will be a shock to be honest.
In saying that, anything can happen on any given day.. ;)

I'm also missing Prestia, Shiel and Wines, all of whom would be starting. A fairytale either way. :P
The Crameri vs De Goey coin flip is looking bad early...
De Goey currently 88 at HT... if he continues this, a late out wouldn't go astray.
Mackie's on 64 for the Strikers while Fas is on 72.
Injury to Dane Swan is going to hurt UAE.

He finished on 83 according to me. Not the worst result but obviously less than what JRoo would be after.
Helps us a little bit, although doesn't really give us an advantage given how poor Bartel has been so far. Punt on SJ who has barely played for us all year looks to be going ok though with him on 119 at 3QT by my calculations.
flower off Fasolo
ahhhhhh Levi Greenwood and James Kelly of course you show up this week :(
Watch me probably break the record...

I literally flipped a coin between him and Crameri. Hoping Stewie can replicate that 7 goal haul from several games ago (and Tex and JJK give an encore performance of last week). :P
Swan injured not ideal, but could've been worse
Our Martin boys should still get us over the line
Sheesh I tell you what! The Llamas would've been flying this week! JC has just gone past the 200 to say the least! :D
Get amongst the LLamas and be afraid next year!
Boak a let down being our only sub ton score but the Strikers aren't out of it if their captain fires.
I think we have the edge at this stage though...

Agree, Nige. Bont did well to keep us slightly in the game. A big one from Sloaney and you never know :o

Brodie and Barlow have had plenty of poor games this season and Tex and JJK have just come off 7 goal games and play each other, there's a lot to go wrong for me.
I think your only danger is maybe quiet ones from Sinclair and de Boer, but knowing my luck they'll have career best games for you. :P
Sorry Nige, I captained Boak in SC so a bad score was bound to happen.

I expected him to be tagged and deliver a shower one tbh, someone had to let me down and my money was on Boak.
Dusty very quiet tonight for UAE
flower wish we were still in. Roberton killing it early
We still have the advantage but the Strikers can still pull it off, having HGA should help us get the win though.

I'm fully expecting Barlow to have another shower one, TMac and Gears aren't the worry.
Looking like Laos will feature in the granny. Kieren Jack doing his bit though, has 112 midway through the 3rd.

It's down to Barlow, TMac, 36 + HGA vs Vince + de Boer.
Bernard's doing well for the Strikers but Micky B is leading all comers in the game atm so I think we're home.
Fingers crossed this doesn't end like BXVs where my team plays their grand final a week in advance. :-X

You are having a shocker, didn't realise how bad :o Been very unlucky with a bunch of blokes being subbed. Not sure on scores but surely the Lambs would have to be in the box seat?
Will try calculate them later.
TMac's not having a good game at all... I'm not sure I'll get home, even with HGA.
Edit: He's having a huge final term, yay.

Reaaaally good game Jay, it was ridiculously close. In fact, if my maths was right... we won by a point without HGA. :o

Soooo..... I got both wrong? :P
UAE Tigers 1723.7 from 15 (C + VC +HGA)
D: Birchall (108), Gibson (108), Higgins (143), Pearce (92)
M: Mundy (131), Jones (25), Griffen (62), Zaharakis (93)
R: Martin (VC) (187.5)
F: Martin (C) (176), Deledio (133), Swan (82), Goddard (125)
U: Ziebell (104), Wallis (104)
vs
Mongolian Lambs 1834 from 15 (C + VC)
D: Houli (84), Murphy (103), Rance (97), Hunt (93)
M: Priddis (C) (176), Stanton (132), McVeigh (122), Montagna (VC) (156)
R: Pyke (99)
F: Bartel (84), Lynch (105), Tippett (159), Petrie (131)
U: Johnson (129), Hartlett (164)
By my calculations Lambs get up - poor scores from both teams though! Both captains scored a measly 88 points each which is pretty ordinary.
Will have to bring our A-game next week, none of this rubbish against Laos. But the Lambs are into our first AXV GF!
Wait. Toga, you don't have the HGA, UAE does.
Edit: nevermind, you added up correctly just a typo where you said that you have the HGA.

Oops, I meant to write that next to UAE. I've added HGA to their score, not mine
No Hodge, Jones, Griffen, Swan injured and captain Dusty spudding it up, we were never a chance :'(
Been the best team all year, so sucks not to get the Premiership but will definitely be cheering for the Lambs next week. Great stuff to come from outside the top four!
Yeah you got very unlucky Jroo, had a very strong team this year but got shot to bits by injury and whatnot this week, we had a poor week as well but just gotta be thankful we got you at the right time :-X
But thanks mate, been pretty strong for a few years now so good to finally get to a GF! Let's hope we can make the most of getting their and give those Elephants a run for their money 8)

Wouldn't say all year, the Ales were very strong at the start of the season. But since the byes for sure, no one has come close. Really unlucky mate, Prelim finals do weird shower to some teams.
:(
I think we were fairly consistent, but I reckon the Ales and Tigers were certainly the best two teams all season.
Well done Laos Good game.
Strikers are one of the top clubs in the comp and we'll be back fitter and stronger next season.
A few big results here in the prelims it looks like!
Official scores will be calculated later on tonight so we can get the final results of which teams have made it to the Grand Final!
Also, our AXV Awards night will be held tomorrow night, on the 1st of September, beginning at 7:30PM, the same night as the M0nty Medal.
We will be presenting the Minor Premiers Trophy, the Wooden Chopstick, and the All Asian Team, as well as the big one, the Colliwobblers Medal, our medal count for the league B&F. I hope to see everyone here for it tomorrow night!
And here are our results after a big weekend of Preliminary Finals.
FINALS WEEK THREE
SENIORS FIXTURE
1ST PRELIMINARY FINAL
UAE Tigers (1725) defeated by Mongolian Lambs (1850)
2ND PRELIMINARY FINAL
Laos Elephants (2089) defeated Sri Lanka Strikers (2027)
RESERVES FIXTURE
1ST PRELIMINARY FINAL
UAE Tigers (1168) defeated Turkish Gazelles (723)
2ND PRELIMINARY FINAL
Mongolian Lambs (1092) defeated Sri Lanka Strikers (830)
So it will be a Grand Final contested between Mongolia and Laos. After 22 weeks of competition, it all comes down to the big one next week! And I'm tipping it will be a very close contest.
Also, don't forget we have our AXV Awards night on tomorrow, so make sure you are around for that, we have a lot of awards to give out!
And the two's make a GF as well :)
Hopefully the game next week can live up to expectations... With a Lambs win of course 8)
