Title: S28: FF Elite (Friendly Comp)
Post by: PowerBug on July 22, 2015, 03:33:46 PM
I have a feeling that this would be a good idea. From the top of my head I think we will struggle to get a top end (200k+ Rating) league together but something less could work. Might look at starting the end of Week 4 which means we have about 2-3 weeks to get all you lazy managers to register your interest :)

If I was to say we run something on Saturday's, I'll set it up and pay for it, who would be interested in a friendly comp? Post your interest with team name(s) and your Match Ratings.

Teams:
PowerBugCC
Torpedo's Titans

I'd be interested if there is a second tier comp - Spinkings and Spinstars, both rating about 140k

I'm happy to be on board if numbers needed which seems likely :P.

Hello 200k+ but can easily drop that as far down as 160k if needed.

Might sound mean but errr, you low rating people have been shafted by me this season :'( (Tip: Get better)

HP, Daz, Torp, and myself to play a 6 week comp where we each play each other twice. Should bring some love to Thursday's. Only cost 20 credits too! :D

Fixtures are out for S28 FF Elite. Everyone plays everyone twice.

Round 1
Torpedo's Titans vs PowerBugCC (http://www.fromthepavilion.org/commentary.htm?gameId=3336365) (Cloudy/Slow, 05:30)
H. Roach (rfm) 10-1-53-4, J. Blair 1 (1b), W. Lovell 42 (27b)
End of over 40 (3 runs) - Torpedo's Titans(194-5) RR 4.85

DazBurg's Greatness vs Hello (Cloudy/Slow, 09:00)
Yet to start

Torp batting first and he was looking really strong but 3 wickets in 6 balls has brought me back in it. Unfortunately Lovell is still there. (And another wicket as I type, not Lovell though)

Round 1
Torpedo's Titans vs PowerBugCC (http://www.fromthepavilion.org/commentary.htm?gameId=3336365) (Cloudy/Slow, 05:30)

End of over 25 (3 runs) - PowerBugCC(96-3). 149 runs required from 25 overs. RR 3.84 RRR 5.96
Ohanga been torched so far. I have two ARs and the keeper in the sheds still but will need these two to put on another 50.

DazBurg's Greatness vs Hello (http://www.fromthepavilion.org/commentary.htm?gameId=3336372) (Cloudy/Slow, 09:00)
D. Meyer (rf) 5-1-17-2, M. Gaudet 1 (5b), M. Dickson 0 (2b)
End of over 10 (2 runs) - Hello(46-2) RR 4.60
Even start here.

N. Haider (rfm) 10-1-42-0, M. Dickson 38 (63b), J. King 2 (8b)
End of over 30 (2 runs) - Hello(117-3) RR 3.90

come on boys need a couple quick wickets here
Title: Re: S28: FF Elite (Friendly Comp)
Post by: PowerBug on August 20, 2015, 09:02:49 PM
Must say Torp choosing to close with a medium and a finger spinner gives me confidence I wouldn't otherwise have. This one is coming down to the wire with 30 needed off 18 balls.

18 off 12 now!

well the boys came through

still i usually defend less then that on a slow so could be tough

Got pretty close PB, considering Torpy should have the ratings on all of us!

Not looking good against Daz, first half of the batting innings for us was looking nice, before a collapse. Now Daz's Openers seem to be going steadily.

K. Williamson (rfs) 2-0-7-0, Z. Hakim 16 (40b), T. Choto 22 (45b)
End of over 14 (5 runs) - DazBurg's Greatness(45-0). 133 runs required from 36 overs. RR 3.21 RRR 3.69
Title: Re: S28: FF Elite (Friendly Comp)

A. Dickson (rws) 1-0-3-1, G. Khaleel 1 (1b), A. Salim 0 (6b)
End of over 21 (3 runs) - DazBurg's Greatness(67-3). 111 runs required from 29 overs. RR 3.19 RRR 3.83

the collapse is beginning

Oh wow, did not expect that after Daz had a good first 15 overs or so. Wickets slowly started falling.

Then in a 2 over spell between WIlliamson and Smart, they went 4 wickets for 2 runs, to get us back into it. Did not expect us to take the match after only posting 177 but more than happy to get one up on Daz on his preferred Slow pitch!!

Just saw. After you guys brought up the 100, it was all downhill from there. Pretty surprised as my guys tend to have a trouble getting all 10 wickets :-X.

N. Al-Attiyah (rfm) 2-0-8-0, D. Cameron 6 (8b), N. Angus 10 (10b)
End of over 3 (5 runs) - Hello(16-0). 128 runs required from 47 overs. RR 5.33 RRR 2.72

Going well so far, so hopefully not a similar collapse. *touches wood*

I can't reproduce what you just did. You're scoring at 5 an over ugh.

Looks like your battle with Torp next week decides who gets the early lead, although I'm still hopefully Daz can cause the upset there.

See, spin provides the collapse and suddenly my keeper and tail are lef to finish this off when your quick bowlers come back on to bowl :-\ Pretty nervous about this now

Round 4 underway now :)

K. Bharucha (rf) 3-1-7-1, P. Aronstam 4 (12b), F. Byrd 0 (2b)
End of over 6 (maiden) - PowerBugCC(18-1) RR 3.00

Humid/Uneven, no spinners playing between the two sides today.
Title: Re: S28: FF Elite (Friendly Comp)
Post by: PowerBug on September 10, 2015, 04:27:16 PM
L. Malinga (rm) 6-0-15-1, F. Byrd 8 (15b), H. Fangman 6 (12b)
End of over 11 (2 runs) - PowerBugCC(44-3) RR 4.00

I actually bat deeper than Torp today, two ARs vs one. Then combined with me playing a true bowler (Sandipa) at the top of the order, I have my keeper at 9. :) So 44/3 does not worry me, but these two have to take me past 60. I'm just after 3/4 30 run partnerships today to get me a score i would be confident in defending.

:O :O :O

D. Taylor (rfm) 6-3-11-1, F. Byrd 38 (79b), J. Herring 21 (44b)

Match losing collapse is imminent...

I got owned :'(. Good win Daz, again proving to be one of my bogey teams, and this time wasn't even on a slow >:(.

I can't wait until my Fasty is a few levels better, need some help for wicket taking. Showed my downfall here :(.

35.1 W Austin to Williamson : [catch] Williamson tries to slog that ball over the boundary rope straight down the ground but instead finds the hands of Rasil at long on.
K. Williamson c F. Rasil b. B. Austin 5 (14b 0x4 0x6) SR:35.71

Austin showing his infinite value to my team today. Hello is 142/6 after 36 overs.

Well keeping HP to 249 has probably won me the title here.

Very lucky he didn't really take off in the final 10.
