he may have been looking but I think you are right, this cements he stays.
If i was to have a guess on the players for this year
Contract Expires end of 2015
Aliir Aliir -
Hasnt made the 1s yet but has impressed in the 2s and in preseason playing on buddy
Jordan Foote (Rookie List - 1st Year) -
Will be signed as a rookie again
Adam Goodes - Unrestricted Free Agent -
Maybe 1 more year but then the problem is if he chases the 400 mark
George Hewett -
2nd year at the swans, impressive in the 2s this year after injuries last year. Has been a emergency a couple of times, might get a small contract 2+ years
Brandon Jack -
Captain of the 2s and played a couple of games in the 1s. Will be given a 3yr+ contract
Kieren Jack -
Will be given a contract
Lewis Jetta -
Thought he might look to go home especially with a young family but after speaking out against WC i think he stays now, unless Freo come knocking with cash!! Will be offered a contract
Alex Johnson -
Might be dropped and picked up as a rookie
Harrison Marsh -
After smashing it in the 2s and moving to the mids, I think he might go back to Perth
Lewis Melican (Rookie List - 1st Year) -
Will be a rookie again after a couple of injuries this year
Sean McLaren (Rookie List - 1st Year) -
Will be a rookie again
Sam Naismith (Rookie List - 3rd Year) -
Will be upgraded to seniors list and No 1 ruck next year
Toby Nankervis -
Will be given a contract and be back up to Naismith next year which will help Tippett
Nic Newman (Rookie List - 1st Year) -
Will be a rookie again
Lloyd Perris (Rookie List - 2nd Year) -
Will be a rookie again after completing his recovery from a knee injury
Ted Richards - Unrestricted Free Agent -
Maybe a 1 year extension
Daniel Robinson -
We be given a contract, Swans signed him as a 14 yo
Rhyce Shaw -
Wont be resigned
Seems pretty accurate to me, not being able to effectively trade hurts us in regards to jetta, plus with mills costing us a couple of picks hanging onto players we know makes sense.
interesting call on naismith, havent seen much, but thought nank would be in front.

Everything im hearing is that Naismith when fit is the No 1, its just trying to keep him fit thats the issue.
Another rumour is Pyke will retire at the end of the season due to injury

Killing it in the NEAFL when he plays. Tall and lanky but has put on a bit since joining the Swans. Injuries are his main concern at the moment.
Pyke will be Naismith's back up if Naismith stays fit and the Swans dont get BErger or another ruck. If they get another ruck then Naismith will be the backup ruck if he remains fit. Pyke wont get another contract after next year
Pyke is weighing up his future. He has been offered a job as an investment banker after getting his masters.
The Swans have given him as much time as he needs to make his decision

Yeh sounds like he's retiring
All reports suggest it will be announced tonight at the B&F.
Opens the spot right up for Berger IMO, and was probably what he was waiting to hear.
Investment banker, not bad!
Good Luck to the bloke if that is where he heads.
Been a great story, and he achieved the ultimate success, a flag, which I often forget I must admit.

I agree with LE - Lycett is the better player and would've preferred him but also agree with tabs and in terms of trading for needs and the fact that Jetts wanted to go home, still a pretty good trade for Sydney ...
any time, like in basketball you can get a 'tall for a small' you're doing ok! ;)
we really need a decent semi-developed ruck to cover/takeover from Pykey - unfortunately Derickx/Nankervis haven't quite looked likely to step into the breach for some reason ...

good to get Sinkers for ruck depth and he can compete with above mentioned players for the no1 ruck spot! ;)

Oldie but a goodie ;)
hmmm
as part of the Carlisle trade Sydney Swans receive picks No.23 and pick No.44, and gives up pick No.14 and Bird.
14 - 1161 points
23 - 815 points
44 - 362 points
So basically we got 16 points for Bird!!!
So with picks 23, 33, 44, 54 and 72 we have 1979 points (great year!!)
Carlton will take either Weitering or Schache
Lions will take a academy player
Melbourne will take either Weitering, Schache or bid for Mills.
If they do it will cost Sydney
2234(pick 3) - 25% (discount for academy) = 1675
But this will mean that the Dees lose there pick as part of the deal, so they wont do it and will take either Weitering or Schache.
I think the Dons may use either 4 or 5 to get Mills
So from what they are saying on trade radio, the Swans were meant to get more points from the Swasn but a swap ended in less points. Hopefully this means that the dons won't have a go at Mills and then GC @ pick 6 might be the first crack at Mills which will cost Sydney 1400 points (pick 10 equivalent)

The dees will very likely bid on Mills at pick 3
Not sure how we then lose our pick though? That would only happen if we actually got Mills
And Brisbane won't use pick 2 for an academy player unfortunately :(, dees aren't really a chance to get Schache

hmm yeah
I can see the Dees bidding for Mills, then Hopper, then kennedy, then Keays, then Hipwood only to be knocked back on all of them.
So Sydney have picks
33 - 606
36 - 502
37 - 483
44 - 362
54 - 220
69 - 49
72 - 19
For a total of 2241 points to use on Mills and Dunkley
Marsh delisted but will be picked up in the draft.
Lloyd Perris delisted after 3 knee recos in 2 years. Dees wanted him the other year as well
McLaren also delisted

happy he finally chose us. lets hope he stays longer than 2 years
Cal's drat doesnt have him going in to top 30 which is interesting. I thought he would.
Hopefully we have enough points for both Mills and Dunkley and still get some great players later on

I think best case scenario is Ess use pick 5 for Mills and then Dunkley goes to Richmond @ 50 both unlikely but you can hope!
If Dunkley goes past the dogs @ 31 then we might get lucky, there are no Vic teams until Stk @ 43
So Dunkley went at 25 which would have cost the swans 604 points and 51 and 56 would not have been enough.
So we went with a Adam Goodes hating small defender in Tyrone Leonardis (http://www.afl.com.au/news/2015-11-25/new-swans-draftees-unsocial-media-gaffe) and forward Jordan Dawson (http://www.sydneyswans.com.au/news/2015-11-24/selection-56-jordan-dawson) who has a big left foot kick
The whole Tyrone thing is very unfortunate. Another way for the media to repeatedly bring up all the anti goodes stuff for the next few years.
The Dawson highlights look pretty good.
Was kind of hoping we would still take Dunkley
I suppose we also now upgrade Naismith at the start of next year? Why wouldnt they just call his name out?
Yeah i know. They used to name upgraded rookies but dont anymore
