Damn, thought Bourke would get DPP, but now he's pure def. Meh.

Rich at that price is tempting with most the other rookies being expensive

268k for someone who has averaged 90 in the past, JS coming out of his butt, has to be close to a lock, even with the injury cloud.

Now Rockliff, maaaaate...
$763k is a lot. I could buy a lot of beer with that money. Seeing as other premo rucks are in the low $600s, I reckon I'll pass on Rocky to start and trust my fantasy footy knowhow to invest that extra $160k into a rookie with better JS (maybe Angus Brayshaw?)

Brisbane fans, how much JS does Freeman have? My completely uneducated opinion is that he'll get a few games along with Close as a key fwd. Worth a peek?

Not sure how often they'll play Close and Freeman in the same team. I personally prefer Freeman, but think most others prefer Close. If Staker gets injured (which is bound to happen at some point) then there's a good chance of them both playing together. Should get a few games either way, but without any injuries would expect between 5-10 at this point in time. If he kills it in the NAB challenge or whatever it is now though, could get the nod ahead of Close and play more games during the year.

Pretty much. I think the reason the selectors like Close more is that he has an extra years experience to Freeman, so his body is more prepared. When Staker goes down (Wouldn't be surprised if it was in the pre season) both will play, but at the start they should both play.

At 140k, I may just pick him if he's named round one cause I love him :P.

Freeman, Hammelman, Close, Clayton will all go close to a starting F8 berth if named rd1 for me

kinda thought Smartin would've kept DPP (he will be the resting forward when Leuey returns) but might be a mid-season upgrade

Freeman or Close will start in Round 1.  Like GL prefer Freeman but will come down to whoever grasps the opportunities in the NAB Cup. Really surprised at Freemans price and if named will be a lock as F7/8 and make some nice cash as I think he his capable of averaging 50.  Has put on some bulk in the off season as well.
McStay as a DPP is at an awkward price $281k but worth some consideration but would not expect him to play as much forward this year.
Rich at that price will be a lock in most teams.
Rockliff imo is way overpriced and will not be starting with him at that price.
Was expecting Martin or Berger to get R/F DPP given that we will be going with both Rucks with one resting forward. At $277k Berger nearly a lock as well.

Cannot see Hammelman or Clayton pushing for selection early pommy.

Hammelman looked pretty solid in the u18s actually, so it was him that I was more looking at
that said, any su-150k FWD is a lookin for my F8 right now (Impey and JKH in previous years, so it's basically a throwaway anyway)

Yeah that's perfect as an F8, as far Hammelmann he is still quite light, I've met him as we are doing the same course at QUT, very modest bloke...didn't realise he was in the academy even though footy did come up once or twice

That kind of surprises me. I didn't really notice him much around the backline but I guess I wasn't paying much attention to it.

We were hoping he'd be fwd/def but mid/def is just as good

Yeah I was hoping he'd be fwd/def as well, would've been good to be able to keep playing him in the fwd line!

Hammelman is on the rookie list, and don't see him getting promoted when Staker and one of our rucks gets injured tbh. Think we'll upgrade ZOB and/or Bourke.
