Sorry fellas just got on, going to need a little while to decide on this one
Alright I've done a bit more research into these blokes and think this guy looks like he could be a real goer, really excited to see what he can do in a professional environment.
Rookie Pick 2 - Beijing: ROARKE SMITH
We'll go with Brad Walsh.
I'll take another project player. When his club first got a look at him they told him to lose some weight. He then shed 20 kg and got his weight down to 106 kg! And he is 18. flower. The cousin of the Mullett...
IVAN SOLDO

IVAN SOLDO
flower off. Thought I'd get him with my last pick lol. But was considering him win my first rook pick.
We'll take Mitchell White
Reilly Obrien
Seoul take Michael Manteit
Royals will take Hugh Beasley to provide strength in defence.
No bias intended and based on these stats:
"Key defender with a real appetite for negating his opponent. At 190cm, he is on the slightly shorter side for his position, but over the past two years has shown he can mix it with the genuine giants. Last year he restricted Tom Boyd to one goal and in 2014 he was excellent against top-five draft prospects Paddy McCartin and Peter Wright. Rarely beaten in one-on-one contests, his 2.86sec speed over 20m allows Beasley to close space quickly. He is also agile enough to play on medium forwards, and had a disposal efficiency of close to 80 per cent for his 16-disposal average through the TAC Cup."
A little unsure on who to take, tossed up between two, but going on track record with his last name, I think this is a safe pick :P
Lachlan Langford
Come down and join your brother!
So we haven't exactly thought about this one too much since we wanted ML's mate Mike Manteit pretty bad (at least ML did :P).
But yeah, we'll have Will Fordham.
Bit of a project player but I like what this ex baseballer brings to the table...Corey Adamson
Well he's going on our Rookie list, so we'll give Conor McKenna a go! Irish jet recruited by Bombers and looks to be a long term project but has potential to be awesome :D.
KB not gonna be happy :P
Dublin is not happy, we want all the Irish players.

Haven't discussed it with Memph but based on prior discussion we'll take Nick O'Brien thanks!
Hang on don't I have max Warren?
If not can I rookie list him despite being on my rookie list for 2 years.

Sorry Holz, looks like I missed it (did you edit him on later? I noticed your list was edited on Dec 3 meaning I would've missed any chsnges unless you told me. I did ask people to tell me or I wouldn't notice)
Another reason why I asked people to double check the lists I posted :(
But yes you can rerookie him

I did it's all good though, happy to leave it as it is and maybe pick him up.
Usually I sleep in until 1pm on Sundays, hence the delayed pick
We'll have Brenton Payne. He's a dons supporter and is just about the same height/weight as me (I'm like 1-2cm taller)
Nice pick, I was thinking of Payne for my one :(.
Is vin back or should I pick?

Is vin back or should I pick?
Vin was on around an hour ago.
Vin asked me to pick for him.
If Dublin was able to pick him this is who I would have taken.
Robin Nahas.
Still young enough to have some good years if he cracks the 22. He could turn into a handy pick at north and had some big games this year.
A little risky but who isn't at this stage.
I thought Robbie was unlucky to be demoted to the rookie list by Norf, thought he was ok when he played this year.
My pick is James Rose.
May not be the biggest scorer as yet and will spend plenty of time in the NEAFL, but I think he can be Goodes' replacement. A perfect 3rd fwd and plays a bit like Aaron Edwards which is promising.
Nice one Holz, was considering him as backup to Turner as that's virtually what ended up pushing him onto the rookie list anyway, Turner's emergence to play a similar role to the same if not better standard at a younger age. However if Turner misses I see Nahas quite likely to play as he impressed when given the chance last season
Pick 17: Alex Johnson

Pick 17: Alex Johnson
Good/bad. Takes the temptation away from me now lol.
HP stole McKenna so I'll go Paddy Brophy to add to my Irish squad.
Harry Dear
Pick 20 - Beijing: BRAYDON PREUSS
Want to top up our rucks a bit after losing Naismith, there's a bit to like about this bloke so we'll take the punt on him. New to the game and a good size.
James Harmes
Quote from: Ricochet on December 15, 2014, 01:18:20 AM
James Harmes
Potentially a very good pick. Guy was unlucky with injuries this year, but has qualities that bode well with Roos.
Damn, was hoping I'd get him with my next picks. :(
Good pick, Ric.

Good pick, I was considering him for my last PSD selection.
Pick 23: Orazio Fantasia
I should make a post in this thread so I know when it gets up to us again.
Jordie Mckenzie
Seoul take Jason Castagna
Royals will take Josh Clayton - Needed a forward for balance had Hammelman on the list but Levis took him.
Berlin shall take Jack Redpath, I'm no meow so I don't know for sure :P, but I like to think he will get some opportunities this year after doing well in the forward line in the VFL this year.
We were gonna take this dude with our first pick, but we didn't and he lasted to this one so we're fairly happy.
Welcome to Cairo, Jake Long!

I'll take Kurt Aylett. HP has been PMed

Well apparently I'm going out now. So I'll go with Tom Simpkin with our pick. I liked his VFL stats and is fringe at Saints but could be semi decent if given the chance.
Cape Town are next so can somebody please pm them for me :). Cheers.

it is but not because it hurts me but because its bad for the comp. Im only a little annoyed because I forgot about the cap, normally I would have just worked around it and kept simpkin. Not majorly fussed as the cap helps me more than it hurts me.
was still a good pick up from HP though.
Well Memph isn't online but I'm just going to go ahead and select the famous Johann Wagner!
Why not take a risk at this stage of the draft.
Surprised there hasn't been more hype around him. Probably because he went to Port.
More so because he hasnt got any stats to analyze like tac/sanfl/wafl/vfl players so we cant analyze him like everyone else. A big unknown!
Cheers Holz, was also tempted to take him with our last Nat pick and first Rookie one, but figured he'd slide 8).
I was tempted to go Wagner myself, may get a game or two but hopefully he turns out decent at Port, but gonna be hard cracking the side as a small-medium forward!
We'll have Keenan Ramsey
He has a glass flowering eye, how badass is that. And is a great back and forward. Was going to take him with out last pick, so lucky he stayed around.
Pick will be up soon, sorry boys.
No clue who to pick, Andrew Raines, GC need a tagged hopefully he plays at some point.
Can someone please PM next, busy right now! Cheers
Stoked that this guy is still available. I'll take another Swan in Nic Newman.
After moving to defence this year, he dominated the VFL averaging 105DT. He's ready to play senior footy and with Eski gone it opens a spot up for him, but I don't expect him to slot straight in. Hopefully he can follow in another Frankston defender's footsteps in Michael Hibberd. 8)
Jeremy Finlayson
wanted someone else but im going with loyalty with this pick.
welcome back Max Warren!!!
Anthony Wilson
We'll go with Keegan Brooksby to compliment Nicholls and Gorringe. Just need to get that other spud GC ruckman at some point

Reckon we will have a 5th Round of Rookie picks guys. I'm not quite sure how, but we've ended up with more players this year than last, despite the Suns/Giants dropping list sizes.
Will be 1 pick each for each team I think

Trouble is not sure who the top 4 and bottom 4 are. We have 3 (Dublin, Mexico City, Buenos Aires) top and 3 (New Delhi, Beijing, Pacific) bottom. But with Sao Paulo/Wellington gone, they don't fit neatly into a ladder.

I would personally put Dillos in the bottom 4 as they are likely to win the spoon this year. than chuck PNL in the top 4 as they are quality especially with Swanny DPP they might be a sneaky flag chance.
also HP keeps saying how much PNL are giving so im sure they wont mind.
than mosocw or capetown for the other top 4 spot.
Harris (not Harrison) Andrews
The Roos bid pick 35 on this lad so picking up this late is decent value.
Daniel Pearce
Alrighty, I'm afraid to risk letting him slip to my next pick now, shall take Max King to finish my melbourne ruck set.

It would be an extra rookie. I think 40 is a better long term senior list
Alright, haven't thought about this too much, but I like this kid and I think he could have a good future even if not fantasy relevant.
Cairo will take Fletcher Roberts.

love this guy he captained my SC squad a few times this year.
Yeah, chuck PNL into the Top 4 over the Dillos who could use it more. No qualms from me.
Although if you are toying with the trading of future draft picks, could hold off on Round 5. Then can use that as a way of potentially upgrading a rookie drafted this year (from this draft by the team) to make up the Senior list of 40 and then give them an extra rookie pick in Round 5 if needed. But gets tricky but one way of having the ability to trade future draft picks for a player and still getting the squad size.
Josh Watts thanks!
Well we grabbed Simpkin so why not grab Luke Delaney for our last rookie spot! One of them is bound to be alright and solid backup as a rookie and a Marseilles player!
They both combine for under 1000 points so keeps us under the cap :).

When in doubt steal my players ;)
I didn't even realise he was your guy, he was just one down my watchlist when the other guys were taken :P.
We were gonna grab Delaney, but figured that Roberts is a bit younger and also Delaney had more cap points (not that we need to worry about that).
Good pick w/ Watts RB, not just because it means I'm a slightly better chance of getting the guy I want but because he could be a pretty good player :3
I bet MC takes the guy I want tho haha
EDIT:
Actually we'll take Jake Kelly.
We'll have Sean McLaren :D
That edit Chumps, just on the dot of Jukes' pick ;D :o.
John Butcher please.

Jesse Palmer.
Done well in the TAC Cup, averaged 76 DT. If he improves his goal kicking it would be even better.

Not sure who you picked before but great edit.
Jake Kelly will be a gun fantasy player - no idea how he lasted that long. Actually I do, I hadn't even really looked at him before today but then I did some digging and found this:
Kelly was one of the shining lights in Adelaide's SANFL team in 2014. The competitive defender stood some of the state
I see him becoming a Steve Morris type player though, not sure he'll ever progress past being a role player, or a middle-of-the-road fantasy option. Good pickup this late though as there's a good chance he'll get some senior opportunities next year!
We'll go with Sam Russell
Really scraping the barrel now :P
We will take The Recruit, Padraig Lucey!
Luke McGuane
Hopefully he might pull his head in for the lions and be a forward presence, something which they might be needing.
Thanks for the PM Purps.... ;)

All players must go! May aswell draft them all.
All teams that didn't make the finals last year (except Christchurch and Rio de Janeiro), and assuming they have the cap room, will get 6th rookie also.... cos why not.
Also Alex Spina was delisted by Adelaide...
Pick 57 - Beijing: MALCOLM KARPANY
Might as well take a punt on this guy as a rookie, sounds like his debut season in the WAFL was reasonable without being spectacular but could be one to develop well over the next few years.
Damn was hoping he'd slide to me. Was tossing up between him and Palmer.
Lewis Pierce

Same with Ryan Crowley in Cairo, he's never leaving. He'll turn into a mummy and be kept in a tomb at Cairo Sands HQ.

He will like the sights of New York I would have thought :P
Il grab back former magpie Brent Macaffer
McAffer could have lasted one more pick for us. ;) 12 picks have passed since I Identified him as 1 on my list.
So after looking at players left we will take Scott McMahon
This guy seems like only injuries have limited his career, rather than being a long term project or limited by being a KPP.
Sam Schulz
... and I guess the dozen midfielders ahead of him at the Giants...
We'll grab Tyrone Downie.
Rookie drafted by the Suns from Bendigo Gold in the VFL at 26 years young. The guy can really play and I figure they wouldn't have taken the punt on him (as opposed to over a kid) if they didn't think he'd be able to do enough for an elevation and get senior games.
Plus, it's our last pick and we now have two Downies. :P 8)
Sean Hurley has the potential to be a little bit less shower than everyone else left....another Irishman so worth a punt.
Besides, at least one Hurley has to turn out to be a decent player doesn't he?
I was planning downie... I'll go with Vandeleur now. When Daz was asked for his opinion he said he has great potential and was totally not chosen because he had the best name left.

but he clearly has the best name left
bout the only tihng any of them have going for them
no good name then no point as will do nothing else for us or anyone else lol :P
James Toohey
Eric Wallace please,
Fraser Russell
Dylan Main
Can't believe this gun got delisted. The man with the most unconventional yet effective spoiling tactics in the AFL...

ZAC DAWSON
He is the AFLs Lord Bendtner.
Hahaha I was so close to doing it Meow, even typed it, I'll pay for doubting The Lord.
Joe Baker Thomas.
Tom Logan
Pick 75 - Beijing: JAYDEN HUNT
6 picks to go, I wonder who is the most unwanted and hence will land to me...
Of course it wouldn't have been Zac Dawson :(

Can we just pass? If not, Dylan Addison

All players must go.
He's on your rookie list, so you'll probably never have to worry about him.
New York can pass, why not? Means Cairo gets the extra player.
So Addison still available, Tokyo's pick

Asking difficult questions :P
Then we'll make New York pick! Not sure why people don't want extra players though, can't hurt!
We're not taking whoever it is. :P
me either they can just delist them after the season but guess they cbf picking a player

Exactly.
If we need to select all players than our pick of Addison stands, but I just don't see why we need to select every player in the first place?
We now have 6 rookies which lets be serious is too much because the reality is they are just going to sit on the rookie list, never get used, get delisted, and the cycle just keeps repeating itself
Happy to rookie new young kids etc (Our first 4 rookies) but having to rookie washed up nobody's who are just not going to make it and are completely SC irrelevant seems pointless and they just become list cloggers for years until they retire/get delisted

Remember Maca24 had a similar complaint about being forced to have Mark Blicavs, saying he'll never be relevant. All these players are listed on the AFL, the clubs wouldn't have them if they didn't think they had some potential (even the spuds like Dawson are handy in a pinch with injuries).
Will give you Addison :)
I'm happy to take on more rookies over at the Reindeers if others don't want them ;).
wish Boomz would pick i'm looking forward to using my new drafting strategy
eenie meenie miney mo
I had a better strategy. When it was my pick I was in a car with friends who know nothing about AFL players. I gave them 5 names to vote for, two voted for Vandeleur so he was our choice :P.
I took a dump and it looked like Simon White so yeh... #draftstrategy
Lewis melican
Daniel Flynn for Seoul
Ringo gets the last choice!
In probably a bit of irony Royals will redraft Kaiden Brand leaving Rohan Powell for Berlin

Rohan Powell the Mr. Irrelevant, can't wait for him to average 90 this season
