With the banning of the existing coach of the Bradford Badgers we are seeking applications to the coaching position of the Bradford Badgers in the British Competition.

If you require more information please feel free to PM me.
Applications to be submitted in this thread closing midnight Monday 3rd November
Coaches will the vote on the applications with the top2 succesful in obtaining teams. Winning Coach by vote will have the choice of teams.
Les PM'd prior to his ban and said that even with a short ban he would be walking away so wee need to start the process. It is not appropriate to discuss in this thread the pros and cons of the ban and if you wish to dsicuss do so in the discussion thread, I have deleted posts to keep this thread clean just for the application process.
This is a really good team. Looking forward to seeing some quality applicants.
PS - Trade us TJ Lynch or Brandon Matera and you'll get my vote :P
I would encourage any assistants to apply for these teams.

How is it with all those guns, you want Lynch and Matera? :P
But yes, great team. Definitely worth applying for guys!
Lez asked me to put my hand up so I will, and I'd be silly not to given the list.
Head Coach Experience
I'm currently co-coaching two teams with Ele. One being the KL Crocs in AXVs which we've built to be a very strong side over the past 2 years and just fell short on a premiership on the final day this year. Some trades from last year include
OUT Trent Cotchin + Lewis Jetta + Steven May
IN Scott Pendlebury + Luke Dahlhaus + Jamie Cripps
OUT Mark LeCras
IN Luke Parker
OUT Harley Bennell + Zac Tuohy + NAT 21
IN Steele Sidebottom + NAT 44
OUT Stephen Coniglio + Isaac Smith + Jordan Murdoch
IN Gary Ablett Jnr + Corey Enright
In WXVs we have the ND Tigers but its a completely difference story with an extremely poor list. We have began a full rebuild of the team with the aim of bringing in quality. We feel like we're on the right track, but have a lot of work to do still. Some previous trades from last year include:
OUT: Pick 4, Pick 5 and Pick 63
IN: Andrew Gaff, Toby Greene and Pick 29
OUT: Jake Stringer and Ben Jacobs
IN: Mitch Duncan and Pick 57
OUT: Nick Vlastuin, Pick 34 and Pick 57
IN: Pick 11, Pick 14, Pick 31 and Pick 32
Minor Roles
I have been assistant coach at Belgium in EXVs for basically ever since I joined the site and I have been heavily invovled with the Hedgehogs here since the comp started.
The Bradford Badgers
Obviously it is a very strong list so there won't be many changes. But there is more than enough quality defenders back there. Especially after expected dpp changes are made. I'd look to strengthen that midfield and bring some quality youth in there to develop behind Boyd, Judd and co. The Fwd line also a little thin, so would work on that also. Other than that I'd be open to all trade talks
What I bring
You'll get a very active coach. I won't miss naming the team weekly or anything like that and I'll answer PMs as quick as possible.
I won't try and rip you off in trade talks, I only try to find fair ground.
I keep up to date as much as possible with real life footy news and have been around long enough to know how it all works.
So yeh thats about it. Most of you know me pretty well so not sure what else I can add.
i look at the vipers list and cry everytime i read that parker -> lecras trade.
:P
Don't vote for Rico guys, he's useless.

I do not condone this post.
I'd like to apply for the worst team available. I'm too lazy to write out a detailed application, but it would be my goal to trade every single player on the list in one off season. Would liven the competiton up a bit.

That'd be Grope Lane. There's a limit of 15 movements across the two periods though, so good luck with the turnover. :P
Oh in that case, I withdraw my application. If I can't feed my trading addiction adequately I am going to try cold turkey.
I will throw my name up as well.
I am currently coach of El Paso Alpacas and Colorado Avalanche in Americas DT and SC comps.
Have been DT'ing and SC'ing on this site for a few years. Not terribly successfully I must add.
Have been an assistant to KB in one of his XV's teams last year. He may give you a reference if you ask him nicely.
Was a not very active asst to Noz. Best you dont ask him.
As a team manager I simply look for incremental improvements in all dealings. I do also like to bring in players I simply like to watch play. The science and complicated machinations of value adjustments in trade deals often escapes me but I do trade if it is fair to both teams in my opinion. I don't necessarily value unproven youth at the expense of proven performers and I do rate mature guns. Best examples of the how and why of my trading methods are on these Americas threads.

I am committed to ongoing team management as I do stay active on the site over the off season. Addiction to football is a bit strong as a description but it is close.
If voted in as coach I would try to put my imprint on team selection reasonably quickly. Things may be reasonably sorted for next season...but next trade period get ready because " I will trade hard and I will trade early."
btw i asked T Dog if he wanted his own team i was worried we wouldn't find coaches i assume T Dog is happy to stay at Birmingham if you have enough coaches

The Giants list isn't that bad to be honest.
Sorry guys having trouble posting the application. Might be work internet related. Will try and rectify ASAP.
Time to finally throw my hat into the head coaches ring. For a few years now I have played the Assistant Coach role to Nostradamus with the Crabs (AXV) and the Roulettes (EXV). In that time I have got to know quite a few people around the site/XV forums. Time for me to have a crack! I would like to officially submit my application for the role of head coach of the Grope Lane Giants. I see the Giants as a young list that needs refinement to become a force for years to come in BXV. I also believe someone with my experience and nous would be perfect to take on this challenge. I would be backed up by Nostradamus as my Assistant.
BACKGROUNDI started playing fantasy AFL back in the late 90's. Those days were all about an automated telephone system, an exercise book or 2 accompanied with a pen and calculator, and a newspaper. Things have definitely changed since those days. Keeper leagues is where it is at! Being able to manage a list and shape it to future succes is a beautiful thing!
My achievements in AFL fantasy... I won a weekly prize in 2013 playing Centrebet. I have been a part of the number 1 ranked AFL Fantasy league over the past 2 years (AFLDreamers Fossils and Coolest Fox). I was actually the commissioner of the top 2 ranked leagues in Fantasy this year (P.B.). I helped a few close friends set up a website, facebook group and facebook page called AFL Dreamers. I have been ranked top 100 in most comps on multiple occasions and have written the odd article or 50. I have a few close mates in Tunas and Hook (both past winners of different AFL fantasy comps) who rate me as an ok coach of sorts. I contemplated retirement from all AFL Fantasy games at the start of this year due to work and personal reasons but have done a backflip due to the fun and enjoyment I have had with Nost in AXV and EXV. Enough about me though. Time to get talking Giants, Grope Lane style!
THE SQUAD
Def: Jack Grimes (Melb), Garrick Ibbotson (Fre), Andrejs Everitt (Carl), Cameron O'Shea (Port), Eric MacKenzie (WC), Matthew Watson (Carl), Jason Johannissen (WB), Jack Frost (Coll), Daniel McStay (Bris), David Astbury (Rich), Jake Kelly (Adel), Jordan Kelly (Haw)
Mid: Marc Murphy (Carl), Brad Ebert (Port), David Swallow (GC), Lachie Neale (Fre), Danny Stanley (GC), William Langford (Haw), James Aish (Bris), Mitchell Wallis (WB), Reece Conca (Rich), Brock McLean, Josh Thomas (Coll), David Ellard (Carl), Jordie McKenzie (Melb), Billy Hartung (Haw), George Hewett (Syd)
Ruck: Matthew Leuenberger (Bris), Billy Longer (StK)
Fwd: Matthew Wright (Adel), Tyrone Vickery (Rich), Ricky Petterd (Rich), Tom Boyd (WB), Rhys Palmer (GWS), Michael Close (Bris), Jarrad Grant (WB), Chris Knights (Rich), Josh Hall (GC), Louis Herbert (GC), Nicholas Hayes
The squad presents some challenges but boy oh boy wowwee that midfield! Plenty of potential and youth there. Depth will need to be found across the other lines however. The forwards will be where I would start, if I was lucky enough to become the coach. I would be using other players in different positions to build some depth and attract ready-made forwards. The Giants are very well placed in the National Draft so I would be definitely using the draft to further increase the depth across the backs and mids. I have plenty of other ideas in regards to which direction I foresee for the GIants but will leave it at that for now.
I am aware that there has been some discussion in regards to the new coaches re-drafting from the combined 2 lists. If I was to be successful in becoming the coach of the Giants, I would liek this not to happen. I don't want it to be seen as getting a 'leg-up' to help assist the team rise up the ladder. The best way to achieve this result is with very sound drafting and astute trading.
Summary
I would love to be given an opportunity to plan and build the team. This is a challenge I find exciting. I always try to be respectful and fair when it comes to trading. I really look forward to making the Giants a contender for many years to come!
Thanks to all and apologies for this not wanting to appear in the same post for me.

Just to clarify, Rids is going for coach and Nos the assistant? Or will we be having a set of co-coaches? Either way, thanks for your application guys :)
Also there is an error above in the team Rids posted, they do not have lachie neale or josh thomas. I think nails didn't update his team list for a while
My understanding is Rids will be coach with Nostra as assistant. Team lists will be sorted out prior to season. Was going on the list Rusty posted but have since discovered some errors so need to get that adjusted in coming weeks when I sort out teams after trades before the draft.
This is the Grope Lane Giants as I currently have it ( Excuse the formatting due to being midway through a trading period so not as I would like)

Remember though as per rules just because a player is delisted they are not automatically delisted from franchise teams. Coaches have to advise, New coach will no doubt revise the list.

Great spot! Challenge just got a bigger haha. All good. Application stands as is.
I can confirm it will be me as coach with Nost as my assistant if I was lucky enough to get the gig.
I would have been surprised if I didn't have any errors in the team list for the Giants. They were the one team I had to go back to the original draft and all subsequent trade periods to try and piece together the team ;)
Screw it, I'll apply as well
I've never been a coach of an XVs team before, but I guess everyone starts from there. Been playing SC for about 6 years I think now, and finished top 5k in 3 of the last 4 years (don't ask me about 2013). This year was my first real crack at DT/AF, and I finished around 1k in RDT and top 1k in AF, although I should've made top 100 as I was around 56 halfway through the season, but dropped off a lot at the end of the year due to about 8 injuries haha.
I'm an assistant to a number of teams:
- An assistant for Nigey at the Lobsters (now called Rams, don't even get me started on the name change) for I think just over a year now
- An assistant to ML and Nige in WXVs at Cairo for the same amount of time as the Lobsters
- Assistant to LF in Euros at the Croatian Crushers for about a year now
- Assistant to LF in Ten10 for the Canning Vale Cobras. Only been a couple of months or so as the comp is starting it's first season next year. Basically the Banter King over there.
I would be pretty committed to my team as I'm usually logged in to FF almost 24/7, although will have periods of inactivity around June and November each year due to exams.
SQUADS
Badgers
Very strong team, wouldn't change too much. Id probably look at trading off a couple of defenders either for a single better defender, or to add a younger mid, as Judd, Boyd, etc aren't getting any younger.
Giants
This would definitely be a challenge. Needs an extra ruck as Leuey is injury prone, and could be in trouble if he goes down again and Longer doesn't get consistent games for the Saints. Need more firepower in defence. Probably wouldn't add anything to the mids, as they seem pretty good. Although may trade one or two to try and strengthen other lines. Need another gun forward as well, maybe 2.
I plan on being fairly active in the trade periods, as I don't like sitting around doing nothing haha.
I'd love to have the opportunity of coaching any one of these teams to success, and would be honoured if I got one of these jobs :)
GL!
Can confirm that GL is a great assistant and will make a great coach
I'd like to formally withdraw my application. Always believed that guys who don't have a a head coaching role should get first crack at new possies. And with GL and Rids both applying, I'd much rather them get a chance to enjoy it.
Good luck lads

Wow, thanks man, really appreciate it :)
If I endorse Dave, I'll probably lose him as assistant. Therefore, Dave hasn't got the competency to be a head coach and his heart won't be in it. Just kidding, pls vote for Dave, he's a good lad and very deserving having done quite the apprenticeship under yours truly for the most part.
GL joins the party! Best bunch of people in this comp ;)
Good stuff Ric!
YEAAHHH DAVE. 8)
I endorse Rids' application for the Giants job 100%, his knowledge on all things football is unbelievable. He'll make a fantastic coach and will be a valuable addition to BXV.
It's been great having him as an assistant over the last couple of seasons in EXV & AXV, but the thing is I've always had final say on all decisions.......it'll be a learning experience for me to have the roles reversed, one that I'm very much looking forward to.
#GoRids 8)
Just a couple of hours to get your submissions in lads ;)
With Ricochet withdrawing we are left with 3 applicants so if any still have desire to apply please feel free.
Hey Ringo since I only suggested t dog apply incase there were not enough applicants I just want to see if he is happy staying co coach with me since there are enough applicants
Just sent him a pm so if you don't mind waiting until he replies before sending votes out :)
Will await the final advice from Tdog before sending out the vote.
I think tdog should still run!
Will withdraw nomination in BXV's and apply in AXV's. Another 3 vacancies there. Good luck in the Cup this arvo.. ;D
Boom! No need for a vote now!

I'd think they'd get their preferences unless they wanted the same team :)
Yeah, I think the fact that they both stated their preference and now that there are only two of them, we don't need a vote.
i wanna vote
:P
Thanks all been out since Tdog withdrew his application.
I have sent both GL and Rids a PM and am just awaiting their response as to whether vote is required or not, Just clarifying with them if anything has changed and they would like a different team.
Congrats to both Rids and GL, well done guys 8)
I have just had the confirmation from both new coaches so we welcome Go Lions who will be taking over the Badgers on the condition he trades Hanley to Breakers. ;)
Rids is taking up the challenge of lifting the Giants from the cellar.
We welcome both Rids and GL to the British competition,
Congrats and welcome lads. 8)
I'm sad to see Dave leave the Liverpool Lobsters Rams, but he's done a great apprenticeship and it's going to be such a good feeling when the Rams beat the Badgers. ;D

Cheers to all for the welcome! Congrats to GL for the appointment. Best of luck as you are likely to need it after Nost and I get the Giants back on track.
No time like the present to get started. Nostra will be my assistant at the Giants so feel free to include him on any messages or correspondence. I am still getting my head around everything but have found the team lists that Rusty has updated (below). My assumption is that they are up to date so please correct me if I am wrong.

Lets get it started. Anyone on the Giants team list is tradeable at the right price. I am fully aware that there are quite a few teams that have used quite a few of their list movements so will be hesitant to use any more right now BUT that shouldn't stop you sending through an enquiry or 10 ::)
Look forward to chatting to everyone!
