Question:
Who will win?
Option 1: Roos
votes: 12
Option 2: Cats
votes: 4
Roos looked impressive in over running Bombers but they ca not afford a slow start against the Cats. Roos welcome back Boomer but Cats may be without Steve J. I favour the Roos to keep the momentum going.
Wild card is Boomer, but Cats for me.
Reckon Roos can get over the Cats here. Going to be a ripper game though

Cats only just
Have a sentimental spot for the Cats hoping they can get up in a thriller.
Cats will get the job done
Can't wait for this match - think the cats will get up
North shouldnt win this game
therefore they will.
North win this one.
Would not mind the Cats getting knocked out in straight sets. Not one bit.

Agree with just about every single point in this thread. Especially Holz'.
However very very hard to tip against Geelong in a final. Hoping North can get up, and they're the team who are playing with nothing to lose.
Should be a good game I reckon. Doubt either will get over the Swans next week anyway
Agree RB hard to see either team getting past Sydney.
I agree Hope North win but can not see the winner getting over Sydney at home.
Geelong seemingly can't play four quarters, so the opportunity is there for North.

Both teams seem to struggle to put 4 quaters together.
Geelong have got the jump on us both times earlier this year, if we can keep it close in the first half hopefully we can run over the top if them... Sounds like Stevie J will get up but he is def not 100% so I don't mind

+1
SJ has been ruled out
2nd Semi Final Teams released: Geelong Cats v North Melbourne;
Brown, McCarthy in for Johnson, McIntosh.
Harvey in for Jacobs.
In supercoach the best way to rank teams is not the ladder, but Rank By Total Points. Generally the best way to rank teams in the AFL is percentage.
So ranked 1 an 2 are Sydney and Hawthorn.
3 and 4 are Freo and Port.
5 and 6 are Geelong and North
West Coast actually rank 7, but lost some close games. Off the subject but look for West Coast to be the bolters in 2015.
Richmond and Essendon rank next.
So this game should be close. North fielding their best team all year and a lot of people in the media tipping North, but history says 2 from 28 for the team ranked 5-8 to win this game. Both North and Port looking to defy history. Interesting to note, North have beaten every finalist this year, except Geelong. Hope we can defy that trend aswell.
Was going to pick the roos thn i found out that Sj is out and now im definitely going for the roos

I thought they were supposed to be this season? And iirc they were almost flag favourites the year before :3
Should be a good game, hopefully the cats get over the line, I'd rather them win the flag than the swans and hawks
Don't think the Roos can give the Cats the start they gave the Bombers, so I think with an even 1st quarter, the Roos could get up in a close one
Geelong v North Melbourne at the MCG, 7.50pm

I was going to ask North fans about that. I would've thought given how long he's been in the system now he should be best 21 each week?
We've got a game here.

flower, that was insane.
Very lucky in the end North. Need to play 4 qtrs still.
Those umpires in the last 15 minutes though... Good work, almost beat North.
Holy shower if North Melbourne lost, it would of been the biggest robbery in the history of the sport. Without the umpires Geelong would of lost by 200.
Geelong had long since used up all their lives.
Finally Geelong lose, umpires couldn't get them over this time.

North got some dubious decisions go their way one resulted in a goal.

Wowee. What a game, what a win. Congrats North Melbourne. Very happy man at the moment
Gee this Turner kid is going to be something...too many great efforts to single players out, but remarkable to be one of the first teams outside the top 4 to make the prelims for years, this experience must be invaluable for the young lads.
Pat on the back to the recruiting department for NDS as well!
Turner Browny McDonald, done well there me thinks.
Very happy.
Total respect for the Geelong F.C. They have been sensational for a decade now. And full respect to all clubs who made finals. At this time of year, all the games are tough.
Sydney will most likely be a bridge too far, but wrapt with the development of the North Melbourne Football Club. Yes a Sydney v Hawthorn GF is odds on. They are the 2 best teams and deserve to be there on the last day, but for North to beat every other finalists this year, its shows the club is on the right path.
1974 we lost a GF to Richmond, then won the flag in 75 and 77.
1994 we lost a prelim to Geelong, then won flags in 96 and 99.
2014 another prelim. As a North Melbourne supporter, I'm very proud of Brad Scott and all the boys. I'm gonna enjoy the week either way, and really looking forward to the next 7 or 8 years.
Great match!
And RB, still waiting on the DP from last week. :P

Cats would be questioning the wisdom of extending Kelly's contract through to next year. Yes, he still has some football left in him but in his last 3 finals appearances he's averaged 10.7 disposals. What value is a player if they can't make a major contribution when it counts most?

To be fair though, why the hell are they playing him as a small defender in the backline?
Needs to be on the ball to have an impact
Tipped North and got that one right. I tipped Port too. One thing I've learnt is that come finals, the teams with their best teams on the park seem to win. Missing a few key players just makes it too hard to win at this time of the year, which is why I tipped North and expect Port to win too considering the outs Freo has
