Title: Round 16 - Tigers v Lions - Saturday 5th July - MCG
Post by: Ringo on July 02, 2014, 05:05:29 PM
Both teams coming off wins last weekend but who will prevail this week?  Lions will have to play 4 quarters similar to their second quarter last week if they are to get over the Tigers. Will Brisbane be able to cover the possible loss of Redden?

We have to win this, there's no other option.

I'd like it to be a comfortable victory, but I think the Lions will make it a contest for a good chunk of the game.

Tigers by a fair bit I reckon. Lions are a young side, away from the Gabba, and backing up from a huge game last week, in the wet that was very taxing on the bodies. Tigers aren't that great but improving.

Maybe because a lot of our supporters are Melbourne based due to Fitzroy? And we don't get many games at Etihad either, but yes, more than the MCG

Just for the record Q in our premiership years we did not play the Vic teams at the G either. Actually in memory in 2000 our first finals appearance was first match at the G so you can not use that as an excuse, Supporter support maybe but not winning.

Calm down guys and stop thinking. It's just the AFLs bias against the mighty Brisbane Lions. The afl community is still getting over the mighty lions back2back2back in 2001/02/03.

Tigers do not really tag so if anything will have a run with role.  Rocky has an averages 116 v Richmond with only one sub 100 score. With the weather being wet and game at the G Rocky will exert tackling pressure averages 9.1 per game so will expect similar.
Changed my mid 100 times about giving him the VC and may still change again in the next hour.

O'Brein isn't playing so can't be counted as the lowest score, so you get Jacks score.

Guys how is McStay playing?
Yeah is he better chance to keep his spot long term than Z.Jones? He looks ok but Vickery has kicked 4 on him already. Leuy coming back also.

hey guys, just a question cos I haven't done it for so long...

I have Hibberd on the ground who isn't playing, with Gardiner coming off the bench to cover... but if Gaz goes nuts and I wanna loophole him then I'll use Bews and Hurn. I can use 2 emgs in the same line right? and the loophole will still work?

Just put the C on Hibberd. Hibberd plays after Gaz, no need to mess around with anything else

haha how did I not see that. yeah that's a lot easier. good call man

The fact that he has played more games then the other defender rookie options at the time I have been happy with him

The reason I brought him into brad's team was his job security. It looked a hell of a lot better then Jed Bews. I wouldn't have expected him to score close to a 80 though

He'll surely smash 130. I'd be taking it now.

One team has made the most of their opportunities in front of goal, one team hasn't :-\

Stef Martin could have gone huge today - 20 touches and 30 hit outs, but 50% DE, 3 FA's and 6 clangers have killed it  :(

Was always having a second game in reserves this week matt. After observing him think he needs another couple of weeks in reserves to gain confidence.

Coming off a knee and not being able to do a whole lot of cardio for the last 10 weeks you would expect him to play more then one in the reserves, especially if he is to come back and ruck. If he is back after one you would expect him to play deep forward, there is no way I can see him ready to go after that long of a lay off

Very similar stats to last week except for the clangers, not too fussed, he's been a revelation.
