Title: Round 14 - Tigers v Swans - Friday Jun 20th - MCG
Post by: Ringo on June 18, 2014, 05:23:54 PM
Will the Swans continue on their winning way and inflict another defeat on the Tigers? Will the Tigers show some bite and clip the Swans?

We've got a good record against the Swans at home. But don't think that will count for much considering Sydney is in very good form and Richmond are horribly out of form despite a little bit of improvement over the last few weeks.. Sydney by 5 goals

Despite our good record against the Swans at the G in recent times, I think we have to remember they didn't have Spuddy then.  :-\

Rance always does a job on buddy but regardless were gonna struggle.
Just hoping for a 4 quater effort. Can handle losing but can't handle when it's due to one crap quater

We played three decent quarters against your mob, just need to take it to the next level, be a bit more consistent and tough it out for all four.

Yeh I think your building to be more competitive.

Saw an interesting stat today that Troy Chaplin has sat on the bench once this year (for 33 seconds). Then I looked up his second halves. Pav had 3 touches in the first half, finished with 13 and 3 goals (all 3 were in the 2nd half). Had Petrie the week before who was terrible in the first half but then kicked 3 goals in the third causing Chaplin to be moved off him. Key defenders don't get that much of a rest but seems like they are burning him out in the first halves. Give the guy a rest Hardwick lol

So Buddy to kick 5 in the first half and 10 in the second :p

5 behinds in the first and then 10 in the second? Will that be a new record for most behinds in a game?  :o

Think I'll hit the pub and just keep an eye of the scores from time to time. Swans to win by 40+

I thought Chappy was a lot better last week.
He won't be near Buddy this week, I think Rance can keep him quite
I think we'll keep this under five goals.

Membrey, Nank and Rohan are the emgs.

Tank's just not the right player to have as sub... He's a guy you would hand the red vest to maybe, but don't make him wear green. He's just not an impact player.

Would have preferred it to be somebody like Titch Edwards instead.

Brought in Parker and Miles this week. Hope they have a big game. 130 for Parker would be good so he doesn't get any cheaper.
Also have Dusty, McVeigh and Buddy. Would love a good start to the Supercoach week!

Why do we play so poorly vs. Richmond at the MCG I don't get it. They're just following the ball around with 0 pressure.

We beat Port's running game, wtf is wrong

Another one to Buddy.

23.11 from set shots this year for Franklin which without looking at the other KPP forwards would be right up there as one of the best in the comp.

So basically if the umps start paying Buddy he could get a big bag tonight.

Actually pretty happy with that first half from the Tiges, few silly mistakes... but pretty good effort for the most part.

Now I'm praying we keep it up. The third quarter was where we lost the game vs Freo, so I hope we can emulate our first half this week and not flop like last week.

Some absolute blunders by the umpires tonight.
Holding the ball decisions are a lottery.
Soft free kicks paid but the blatantly obvious ones let go.
So frustrating to watch.

Anyway on a bright note
Franklin- 125
Parker- 125
McVeigh- 93
Martin- 144

At times this year the media have said how much better it is that the umpires have let the game go and aren't paying as many frees but personally I've hated it. Players are getting scragged all over the place, absolutely smashed into the ground, sat on in the tackles. Incorrect disposal isn't payed often enough and when is you don't know why it's any different. It's been a lottery all season. No matter which team.

But obviously Essendon have had it the worst.

Dusty 144
Miles 123
Buddy 125
Parker 125
McVeigh 93

Miles and Parker looking good recruits this week for NRoo and Higgins. One week doesn't necessarily make a good move though.

It's because CD take the points from players in close games and give them to others. I don't think there should be this 3300 number or whatever it is. Give the points to the players that deserve them without taking from others.

Cotchin 66% and 21 uncontested touches vs 58% and 17 CP's, 7 clearances and 12 tackles. CD hate short kicks, especially when it comes from and UP. Plus if you are averaging 6m a possession I don't know if those are exactly effective kicks. JPK was still racking them up when it was close in the last, Cotchin went missing

Cotchin 66% and 21 uncontested touches vs 58% and 17 CP's, 7 clearances and 12 tackles. CD hate short kicks, especially when it comes from and UP. He did have a good point about solving congestion problems though... call a ball up quicker and throw it up straight away.
Atm umps allow this rolling maul to run for too long. Which means players that are not immediately the stoppage but are around the stoppage are drawn in closer. The ump then throws the ball up straight away which gives no time for those to clear the stoppage and reset. If the umps call ball ups quicker while then less players will be drawn to the contest, clearing congestion. His views anyway (which I agree with, although I don't really like whistlehappy umps)

It's not the ones that were paid that I was pissed off about but the ones they missed.
Buddy fending off miles square in the middle of the face.
Buddy receiving a handball a foot over the boundary line and it not being called out.
Richards caught red handed holding the ball in the forward pocket not paid.
Deledios clear mark not paid

All of these were late calls that could have and would have impacted the result of the game.
I guess that's why they get highlighted more and are more frustrating

58%, but a lot of that had to do with 21 contested possessions and being in the clinches. Your DE% is usually pretty crap in those cases.

Quinny may be surprised but I agree with you here,  It seems each week there are different interpretations to rules at whose request not sure.  Like you wish they would set at start of season and then leave alone.

Umpiring in this game was probably the worst I have seen this year but went both ways. Basically the inconsistencies which  is my real beef was on show for all to see.

He clearly lost his points for a reason, went missing, not many contestant touches, no influence on the game when it was hanging in the balance. So the points were moved to players that were helping the side win the game. It is how SC works, efficiency and how a player influences the game.

You can just keep sayings it's a joke, it's BS but ignoring the facts and just saying it is a robbery is crazy man.

JPK had 12 tackles, 17 CP's, 7 clearances.

If you want to play a game where you get points for just racking it up, the DT board is just above the SC one.

"Don't start with you are shower Noz"

Do not know which part of this response to tackle first.

Don't start with your shower Noz.

Don't start your shower Noz.

You are shower Noz.

Don't Shower Noz.

Start your shower Noz.

Shower with Noz.

Noz don't start.
