Title: Round 7 - Cats v Tigers - Sunday May 4th - MCG
Post by: Ringo on April 30, 2014, 08:40:19 PM
Cats suffered a surprise defeat by Port last week and will be looking to bounce back?  Tigers have been disappointing and will be up for this one as another defeat will make finals out of reach. Should be another classic game this week.

Cats to win but margin will depend on the inclusions at Tigerland. If Deledio, Maric, Rance and co come back in it could be a bit closer

Yep Ivvy is still a couple of weeks away, I'd estimate a R9 or R10 return for him would be likely.

Lids and Rance are very close though by all reports, I have a feeling Lids could be rested the extra week even if fit though given we have the bye next week. #cottonwool

Surprised Titch gets the vest, might not be a bad move though as he has the skillset to make a good sub. Thought McDonough might've been given it again, hopefully he can show something in a full game!

Besides last week he is scoring how I expect him to score

He will be my d6, and if I have trades left over I might luxury trade him later in the season, but surely you have more pressing issues than Enright at this stage of the season

On the Enright issue. I don't have him but an 80 average is not good enough IMO for a premo D6.

Enright looks dead and buried as a SC stalwart, time to move him on I think.

Besides last week he is scoring how I expect him to score

He will be my d6, and if I have trades left over I might luxury trade him later in the season, but surely you have more pressing issues than Enright at this stage of the season

He's not a priority but he seems to be costing me every week, I need a ton from him this week.

Yeah I hear you

McVeigh is the final defender I need, and then if it permits I can sideways Enright to Hanley etc later

Yeah it seems as if a lot of teams have been embarrassed early.

Collingwood, Sydney, Carlton, Adelaide, North, Richmond, St.Kilda and Essendon have all had their moments :P

Also Richmond have been statistically better this game everywhere except inside 50s, hitouts and the scoreboard

The first and last of those will hopefully come together in the second half.

Not sure Hammer (and Ty) can out-ruck H-Mac though. This is where we need Ivan.  :(

No wonder there's a blood shortage. We need to deport Selwood.

Selwood was bleeding before he kicked a critical goal and wasn't sent off by the umpire. Filthy.

So close yet so far.

We lost by a goal that should never have happened, that hurts.

Would definately have taken a 5 point loss at the start of this week.

Ok first of all umpires you can go and get flowered. Hard.

Secondly, although it's a loss I am very happy with that result. The boys fought hard against a top team and really did us proud this week. If we can put some more of those performances on then our season won't be a complete disappointment. :)

True this!! How many sliding into the legs free kicks were missed in this game, particularly in the last half. If you create a new rule then you should police it!

Oh and might I say, happy to take the 4 points but this game should have beer been this close! Not after the first qtr!!

Credit to Richmond for working back into the game but disappointing to see Geelong let that happen.

Enjoy not playing finals Richmond hahaha  :P

So close but so far.. Gonna be hardto claw our way back from 2-5 but if we play like that every week we will be right in the mix.
What a difference it made having Rance and lids back in the side

Good performance Tiges, we played much better than the Cats after half time.

As a Geelong supporter for the day, it was a disappointing performance. The Tigers were definitely up and about after half time but the Cats should've been up by more at the half. Tigers were better in a lot of statistical categories but Cats looked dominant for that first half.

Umpires were pretty poor both ways but I don't think that affected the result.

If the Tigers can play like this for the rest of the season, only Hawthorn are certain to beat them. Of course, the hard part is keeping this form after the bye...
