Title: Round 6 - Hawks v Tigers - Sunday April 27th
Post by: Ringo on April 23, 2014, 03:13:22 PM
Hawks had their first defeat and will be wanting to make a statement against the Tigers who have been a little disappointing this year.  Will the Tigers rise to the occasion?

Richmonds season is on the line over the next 2 weeks. Must win one against either Hawthorn or Geelong which is going to be a task. Rance and Deledio possible inclusions and we are desperate to get both of them back.

Have smashed the Hawks the past 2 times against the odds however I still think it would take a miracle to happen again.
Hawthorn by 30

We're certainly a chance to cause an upset, but realistically the Hawks are 10x better than us.
I'm hoping Lids and Rance are back, while Lennon and McDomuts have been good in the VFL.

Hopefully the Tiges can at least be competitive :P

Key is to kick 15 goals for Richmond and learn how to defend!

Not really, Jack kicking 4-8 goals and Richmond still losing was several years ago when the rest of Richmond were a bottom 2 side.

Now when Jack gets up to kick a bag, Richmond are always in a strong position.

In the last 3-4 years of head to head between these two has been separated by bags from Jack, Franklin and Rioli

Yeah I'm a bit off-put trying to tip Richmond this time because they look worse than previous years (form-wise)

Its strange because the last two games weren't even close, does this mean that this one is going to be really close or just a shock blowout either way.

Like, if I was to be realistic... I genuinely believe - no word of a lie, that we could keep it close... IF we had a full strength side, which we unfortunately do not. We're missing Lids and Ivvy and Ty is out of form (if he was in good form, he'd be best 22).

But yeah, I feel like that with our outs and also due to our form, the chances of us actually winning are rather slim. However, I guess as mentioned, the fact that we have won the last two rather comfortably does make it somewhat interesting.

Hmmmm hard to get a line on their form, wins against Brissy and Carlton, losses against Gold Coast, Bulldogs and Magpies. Hardwick says he'll have some tricks for them and thinks they can win, so I might go with them thanks "Eddie", yep, lock in the Hawks thanks ED.

Hawthorn by about 74 points and Rioli best on the ground with Sam Lloyd an honourable mention.

Look, I'll be honest. We need a scalp and recent history says we can do this.

We're not completely out of it, and the Hawks probably could have put us away by now. I'm not saying we'll win it from here, but if we play like we have so far, I reckon we can, at the very least, keep this close.

Carlton are in a similar position to Richmond, I'd say we are both as shower as one another.

Tiges got luckily not to cop it. If we beat Melbourne, Tigers would be in the spotlight.

There are some good teams down there. It's gonna be a long interesting season. I think the uneven nature of the draw makes some teams look better and some worse.

Conca, Gordon, Ellis, Jack & Houli just about the only shining lights for Richmond, while Dan Jackson & Ricky Petterd were just flowering terrible today.

Hawthorn by about 74 points and Rioli best on the ground with Sam Lloyd an honourable mention.

Very disappointing result for the Tiges today and my fantasy players didn't do much  :-\

I reckon Lloyd was very stiff to be subbed so early, 10 touches in a half was way more than most of his team mates. Dimma needs to give the kids a clean run at it, no point chopping and changing all the time.

Very disappointing game. I particularly hate when the stupid fans in the crowd yell "kick it" every single time we touch the ball. Contrary to their uneducated opinions, bombing it blindly to a contest and turning it over is not a better option than trying to keep possession while creating options. And, even if we continue to screw up the latter, at least we're playing the right way so that, when we do get the skills down pat, we'll be a better side for it.

Also very disappointed by so many "fans" leaving so early. I'm happy to say that I've never left a Richmond game early and don't plan to.

Yeah I can understand where you're coming from but it's his duty to make sure no high contact is made or he's responsible for the concussion or injury from what the MRP has said so far this year.

High contact with a raised elbow wasn't a good look though.

For this reason Mitchell has always been better for AF/DT than SC, but the disparity is not usually that bad :o
