Traditional Anzac Day clash - Some matches have been close but there have also been blowouts. Will the resurgent Pies overcome the Bombers smarting from last weeks loss to Saints?
Pies by 10 points. Bellchambers is back.. (apparently). Which means he can go forward and Carlise to go to Cloke. So i think Essendon will bounce back. But not sure they can win. Will be close but!!
This one is gonna be a ripper. Pies are in some fine form and Essendon will be looking for blood after last weeks loss
Always look forward to this game every year no matter where the teasm are on the ladder. Pies in good form should win.
Pies by 20

I agree fully quinny...pies by 20 goals... ;D
...Draw
Think Essendon will steal this one. Will be an absolute cracker of a game too.
Go Bombers
Always a ripper. Pies by 7!
I'll back the Pies in this one. Collingwood by 30.
Generally a good game.
How about... a draw?!

Don't copy me Nigel.
Always a good game to watch don`t really care who wins this but I think the Bombers will bounce back
I think the Pies will win, but will be a great game.
I'd rather Friday arvo footy to Sunday night that's for sure. :P
Always a big game for fantasy. I'll most likely have 6 players in AF and 4 in DT.
the minor case of OCD in me is hoping the thread title can be changed to add the hyphen after Round 6 :P
hoping for a good game and I reckon it'll deliver! Pies by 16
much better ;D cheers Ringo

Thanks Brad - Usually re check these but with short turnaround missed and got caught out ;) ;)
I'm going. It's gonna be a big game for both teams. Hope the pies get up
Should be a ripper of a game like usual, one of my favourite footy events of the year.
Should be very close, Pies have the better form over the last few weeks and having a firing Trav Cloke will be very dangerous for the Bombers. Pies by 20.
Go Bombers.
Will be going to my local dawn service, then getting together with a few mates for drinks and hopefully (as they are Queenslanders who prefer the other game) will see the mighty bombers having a win.
Realistically on form Collingwood should win but on this day form usually means nothing.
Looks as though Belly and BJ miss, however, injury prone duo Winderlich and Dempsey should be back.
Essendon FC @EssendonFC 57m
Watson: "I don't think Brendon will play and Tom Bellchambers isn't quite ready either, so I think he will play another week in the VFL."
I read that as Jobe Watson saying "I don't think I'll play" at first... Phew! :P

Therefore, Ambrose? Would be good! ;D
Ambrose is still listed as 1-2 weeks away :(
QuoteForward Patrick Ambrose, who hasn't played since his three-goal effort against Hawthorn in round two, trained with Essendon's squad and is in contention for a return this week from a quad strain.

Bombers still don't have a proper forward line and with Cloke looking ok last week I'd say Collingwood will get home
Watson to win the Anzac medal, Cloke to kick 1.6 and the result to be a draw.

Was very surprised to see that it will be Hibberd's 50th game today - feels like he has been around for much longer
As far as defenders go, his first 50 games have been excellent. You don't see too many genuine backs as good as him in such a short period of games

Only really ever had that one bad hammy ping in the ANZAC Day match a couple of years back, in his fourth year now but was picked up as a 20yo iirc so that's probably while people feel he's a couple of years older than the other young guys - he is!

Joined the Bombers as a mature age recruit the same year as Heppell who has played 67 games and hasn't missed many. Hibbo did have an off field legal issue at one point too. Think he was given a club suspension.
He plays with a lot of maturity and hopefully can keep improving.
Will be a tough game but Go Bombers!
I remember Hibbo stinking it up on my bench in 2011. Now he's one of my premo's. :D

Pies have 11 players in today who have played less than 60 games. Nice future positioning.. ;D
Tipping the Pies - less than 3 goals
Got plenty in this one:
Watson
Stanton
Beams
Swan
Pendles
Fasolo
Langdon on bench, reckon he will find it to intense. :-X
Come on Pies by 7.
Have:
Pendles
Beams
Fasolo
Langdon on the bench.
Nice of them to start on time ::)
Pendles, Beams, Swan, Watson, Hibbo, Merrett. Hoping for some points.

Great day for footy, yet Daniher still looks like he has been in the rain.
Bombers looking great so far.
Big crowd around, lots of discarded food. Enter the Seagull.
Pendles, composure.
Bombers all over them.
Yeah Collingwood getting 0 clean possesion atm
Fasolo, touch the ball mate. It has only been where you are playing..

The atmosphere is just awesome.
hahaha I love Vin's hatred of Cloke. right with ya brother ;D
Haha but dude, I used to give him shower and he was okay then but now he is legit the worst player. It is all coming together now. >:D
Swan.. 2 seconds.. I'm gonna have nightmares tonight
Oh Swanny I love you but why did you have to do that :'(
On another note the umps hate Essendon!
Anyone have the vc on beams? 126 is pretty good but just have a feeling ablett will smash it
Does the F in AFL stand for fixed?
One of those worst cases of umpball I have seen
ESSINGTON HAS RETURNED. THE RETURN OF ESSINGTON. :'( >:( :( :'( >:(

Raph Clarke > Jake Carlisle.
Relton Roberts > Raph Clarke > Jake Carlisle
Did anyone see Fasolo in the crowd just then?
My opponents in both of my cash leagues have Swan. I don't. :-[ at least they didn't have the VC on him.
Great game!
Buckets > Vickery and Spuddy

Probably playing through an injury, the rest of our team either is or is out with an injury
Anyone > Cloke
Bombers can go F themselves, ruining my tip

You only have yourself to blame for tipping Essendon lol
They did just lose to St.Kilda last week!
138 SC. 2 seconds. shoot me.
It isn't Carlisles fault, he is being played out of position. He doesn't know how to play as a fwd.
Bomber needs to end the experiment and admit he was wrong and it didn't work...., let Carlisle go back to defence and get his confidence back.

Hooker and Hurley are doing pretty good down there adding Carlisle down there might just stuff them up.
With our forward line Ambrose should play next week.
Watched the game at a relative.
Backing GAJ over Swan atm but I can still change.
Frost and Keefe are turning into a wonderful combo. I don't see how Brown can come back.

Was thinking that myself as I was watching today
Great game as always today. What a turnaround! :o
Was anyone actually lucky enough to get tickets to the game today? One I would love to get to one day, such a huge occasion.

I'll be in town for the rematch in Round 17 but I'm already committed to going to Richmond vs Port.
Was just browsing over the stats and saw that Grundy gave away 8 free kicks :o surely theres been a mistake

Not really is just the average Grundy game.

Yep he's been giving away a lot of free kicks this year. Something he will need to work on to take his game to the next level.

Never been never tried. Would like to go someday soon, usually spend it with mates like I did today though.
Also this broke the record for most posts (15 pages) in a matchday thread (in 2014, never went that far back :P ).

Currently this thread is sitting 3rd on the all time leaderboads on the Matchday forum
1st - West Coast vs Western Bulldogs
2nd - 2013 AFL Grand Final Hawthorn vs Fremantle
3rd - Anzac Day Collingwood vs Essendon
Why did the Eagles and Dogs get so many.

Must be because of all the Macrae love :P
if anyone wants to throw up then you should watch Ed and Derm's show. ......Eddie's opinion of the Cloke goal review is bamboozling
you know, the one that couldn't be any clearer that the ball was touched.
yeah well not according to Ed
