How in hell did Dusty get off?
Real consistent with last rounds suspension of a Rocky there.

What did Fyfe do?

Fyfe is certainly developing a reputation as a loose cannon, he was rubbed out for 3 weeks last year as well.

There was always going to be questions over the footage & force of Dusty's incident.. I think a big mitigating factor that makes a difference between Rocky & Dusty is that Mitchell wasn't looking at Rocky when he got dropped, whereas White & Dusty were locking horns when it happened.

But yeah anyone got any idea what Fyfe even did?!

Rocky hit Mitchell off the ball without him expecting it and put him down......Dusty and co had eachothers jumpers and were going eachother and neither even hit the deck, blow a penalty and be done with it, quite different i reckon good decision

"Nathan Fyfe, Fremantle, has been charged with a Level Two Engaging in Rough Conduct Offence (225 demerit points, two-match sanction), for engaging in rough conduct against Michael Rischitelli, Gold Coast, during the third quarter of the Round Two match between Fremantle and Gold Coast, at Patersons Stadium on Saturday March 29, 2014.

In summary, due to his previous poor record, his two-match sanction must remain at two matches, even with an early plea.

Based on the video evidence available and medical report from the Gold Coast SUNS Football Club, the incident was assessed as negligent conduct (one point), medium impact (two points) and high contact (two points). This is a total of five activation points, resulting in a classification of a Level Two Offence, drawing 225 demerit points and a two-match sanction. He has a bad record of 50 demerit points carried over within the last 12 months, increasing the penalty to 275 points and a two-match sanction. An early plea reduces the sanction by 25 per cent to 206.25 points and a two-match sanction."

Anything on the weak as piss bump from Derickx? What a spud trying to rough up Pendles; he's barely had a touch of the ball let alone be worthy to touch the great man..

Yeah pretty sure he got a reprimand for it.

To be honest it should've been weeks, I liken that hit to Rocky's... Might not've been as forceful but got him right in the soft spot above the hip by the looks of it, really dog move.

The Fyfe decision is a disgrace. Surely they will appeal. Should not get suspended for an accidental head clash.

Derickx got Pendlebury with what looked like an elbow to the kidney area, kind of similar to what Rocky did last week. Probably not as much force but definitely intended to get him in the soft spot, I wasn't impressed when I saw it..

Guys, I just the saw the footage, and the only logical reason I can think of is that it was a late hit. The ball had already been kicked and then a millisecond later Fyfe then made contact.

That's the only reason I can see that getting weeks. Fyfe can challenge the suspension without risking additional weeks

Yeah it was a bit late and a bit more forceful but not really any different than the one pendles copped ???

Ok so if you watch 'Charged' on AFL.com they explain why Fyfe & Taylor Hunt get weeks for their bumps... There's a new rule in the Tribunal Guide that says a player is responsible for any head clash if they choose to bump rather than tackle.

Not saying I agree with the new rules as it takes physicality out of the game, however if the rules are there then that is what Fyfe gets.. :(

Interesting Fyfe not challenging when there's nothing to lose. Guess they just think it's a done deal and wasting time to challenge...

There's no penalty for an unsuccessful challenge, just you lose the reduction they give you for an early plea. But because Fyfe was a naughty boy last year he gets no credit for copping to it, hence there is also no risk in challenging it.

I don't think there was much to argue in Fyfe's case so they didn't bother. Not saying I agree with the rules (it's a crap rule tbh) but it stipulates if you bump instead of tackle, you are responsible for any head clash etc, so Fyfe really didn't have much to argue I'm afraid :(
