Title: Too strong in forwards?
Post by: GoLions on March 14, 2014, 10:12:25 AM
Was just thinking that if I drop Birchall, switch Langdon into defence, and pick up Crouch as M10, I can upgrade Caddy and Higgins to keepers in Roughy and Gunston. However, this will leave Suckling as my D4 which I'm not really a fan of. I have 20k left with my unchanged team, and only $400 after making these changes. Thoughts?

My team unchanged;
DEF - Mitchell, Simpson, Birchall, Hurn, Suckling, McDonald (Clurey, Georgiou)
FWD - Danger, Dusty, JJK, Caddy, Higgins, Rohan (JKH, Impey)

With changes;
DEF - Mitchell, Simpson, Hurn, Suckling, McDonald, Clurey (Langdon, Georgiou)
FWD - Danger, Dusty, Roughy, JJK, Gunston, Rohan (JKH, Impey)

I like the changes as I would be a little concerned about that many Hawks in the back line.  How will they all score against Melb, GWS, Saints, our boys (Bris) etc?

The second option gives a better spread, IMO.

I still think Mitchell and Birchall can deliver premium scores, they have the last few years and Hawks have been right up there the entire time. Option 2 does give me that extra premium though.

Any other thoughts?

I worry about your F7 and 8. A bit weak.

Puts pressure on if anything at all goes wrong.

Don't want to be a pain in the arse Doc but hate both options. Perhaps KEEP Birchall get rid of Suckling to Webster, upgrade Hurn to a Prem and either JJK or Gunstan to T Mitchell. The last and first trades being the main. Whatever you do mate I wish you fun, frustration and all the very best for the SC season. Cheers from Pete.   ;)

I have gone the opposite. Think my fwd line is too weak, I have bumped the defense since the rookies are mostly questionable.

DEF - Hanley, Simpson, Birchall, Swallow, Suckling, Webster, MacD, Georgiou/Langdon

FWD - Danger, Parker, Pav, Caddy, Missy, Rohan, Fasolo, JKH

And yes I know Fas wasnt named, but he will be back next week and a better option at his price cannot be found.

Hurn is a premium? Averaged 95 unsubbed last year
Not keen on Webster
JJK averaged 99 I believe before the last month where he dropped off a fair bit, so has potential to average 95+ easily. Think Gunston will breakout and average 95 or so. Mitchell will probably average the same as him, but Gunston is cheaper  ;)

Yeah Birchall, Caddy, and Higgins all have the risk of getting tagged out of the game/spudding it/getting injured
